1. అబ్రాము భార్యయైన శారయి అతనికి పిల్లలు కనలేదు. ఆమెకు హాగరు అను ఐగుప్తీయురాలైన దాసి యుండెను.

1. Nowe Sarai Abrams wife bare him no children, and she had a maide an Egyptian, Hagar by name.

2. కాగా శారయి ఇదిగో నేను పిల్లలు కనకుండ యెహోవా చేసి యున్నాడు. నీవు దయచేసి నా దాసితో పొమ్ము; ఒకవేళ ఆమె వలన నాకు సంతానము కలుగవచ్చునని అబ్రాముతో చెప్పెను; అబ్రాము శారయి మాట వినెను.

2. And Sarai said vnto Abram, Beholde now, the Lord hath restrained me from childe bearing. I pray thee goe in vnto my maide: it may be that I shall receiue a childe by her. And Abram obeyed the voyce of Sarai.

3. కాబట్టి అబ్రాము కనాను దేశములో పదియేండ్లు కాపురమున్న తరువాత అబ్రాము భార్యయైన శారయి తన దాసియైన హాగరను ఐగుప్తీయు రాలిని తీసికొని తన పెనిమిటియైన అబ్రామునకు భార్యగా ఉండునట్లు అతనికిచ్చెను.

3. Then Sarai Abrams wife tooke Hagar her maide the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelled ten yeere in the land of Canaan, and gaue her to her husband Abram for his wife.

4. అతడు హాగరుతో పోయినప్పుడు అది గర్భవతి ఆయెను. అది తాను గర్భవతి నైతినని తెలిసికొనినప్పుడు దాని యజమానురాలు దాని దృష్టికి నీచమైనదాయెను.

4. And he went in vnto Hagar, and she conceiued. and when she sawe that she had conceiued, her dame was despised in her eyes.

5. అప్పుడు శారయి నా ఉసురు నీకు తగులును; నేనే నా దాసిని నీ కౌగిటికిచ్చిన తరువాత తాను గర్భవతినైతినని తెలిసికొనినప్పుడు నేను దాని దృష్టికి నీచమైనదాననైతిని; నాకును నీకును యెహోవా న్యాయము తీర్చును గాక అని అబ్రాముతో అనెను.

5. Then Sarai saide to Abram, Thou doest me wrong. I haue giuen my maide into thy bosome, and she seeth that she hath conceiued, and I am despised in her eyes: the Lord iudge betweene me and thee.

6. అందుకు అబ్రాము ఇదిగో నీ దాసి నీ చేతిలో ఉన్నది; నీ మనస్సు వచ్చినట్లు దాని చేయుమని శారయితో చెప్పెను. శారయి దాని శ్రమ పెట్టినందున ఆమె యొద్దనుండి అది పారిపోగా

6. Then Abram saide to Sarai, Beholde, thy maide is in thine hand: doe with her as it pleaseth thee. Then Sarai dealt roughly with her: wherefore she fled from her.

7. యెహోవా దూత అరణ్యములో నీటి బుగ్గ యొద్ద, అనగా షూరు మార్గములో బుగ్గ యొద్ద, ఆమెను కనుగొని

7. But the Angel of the Lord founde her beside a fountaine of water in the wildernesse by the fountaine in the way to Shur,

8. శారయి దాసివైన హాగరూ, ఎక్కడ నుండి వచ్చితివి, ఎక్కడికి వెళ్ళుచున్నావని అడిగినందుకు అది నా యజమాను రాలైన శారయి యొద్దనుండి పారిపోవుచున్నాననెను.

8. And he saide, Hagar Sarais maide, whence commest thou? and whither wilt thou goe? And she said, I flie from my dame Sarai.

9. అప్పుడు యెహోవా దూత నీ యజమానురాలి యొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి ఆమె చేతి క్రింద అణిగి యుండుమని దానితో చెప్పెను.

9. Then the Angel of the Lord saide to her, Returne to thy dame, and humble thy selfe vnder her hands.

10. మరియు యెహోవా దూత నీ సంతానమును నిశ్చయముగా విస్తరింపజేసెదను; అది లెక్కింప వీలులేనంతగా విస్తారమవునని దానితో చెప్పెను.

10. Againe the Angel of the Lord saide vnto her, I will so greatly increase thy seede, that it shall not be numbred for multitude.

11. మరియు యెహోవా దూత ఇదిగో యెహోవా నీ మొరను వినెను. నీవు గర్భవతివై యున్నావు; నీవు కుమారుని కని అతనికి ఇష్మాయేలు అను పేరు పెట్టుదువు;

11. Also the Angel of the Lord said vnto her, See, thou art with childe, and shalt beare a sonne, and shalt call his name Ishmael: for the Lord hath heard thy tribulation.

12. అతడు అడవి గాడిద వంటి మనుష్యుడు. అతని చెయ్యి అందరికిని అందరి చేతులు అతనికిని విరోధముగా ఉండును. అతడు తన సహోదరులందరి యెదుట నివసించునని దానితో చెప్పగా

12. And he shalbe a wilde man: his hande shall be against euery man, and euery mans hand against him. and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

13. అది చూచుచున్న దేవుడవు నీవే అను పేరు తనతో మాటలాడిన యెహోవాకు పెట్టెను ఏలయనగా నన్ను చూచినవాని నేనిక్కడ చూచితిని గదా అని అనుకొనెను.

13. Then she called the name of the Lord, that spake vnto her, Thou God lookest on me: for she said, Haue I not also here looked after him that seeth me?

14. అందుచేత ఆ నీటి బుగ్గకు బెయేర్‌ లహాయిరోయి అను పేరు పెట్టబడెను. అది కాదేషుకును బెరెదుకును మధ్య నున్నది.

14. Wherefore the well was called, Beerlahai-roi. lo, it is betweene Kadesh and Bered.

15. తరువాత హాగరు అబ్రామునకు కుమారుని కనెను. అబ్రాము హాగరు కనిన తన కుమారునికి ఇష్మాయేలను పేరు పెట్టెను.

15. And Hagar bare Abram a sonne, and Abram called his sonnes name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

16. హాగరు అబ్రామునకు ఇష్మాయేలును కనినప్పుడు అబ్రాము ఎనుబదియారు ఏండ్ల వాడు.

16. And Abram was foure score and sixe yeere olde, when Hagar bare him Ishmael.
