1. యాకోబు బయలుదేరి తూర్పు జనుల దేశమునకు వెళ్లెను.

1. Then Iacob went on his iourney, & came into the lande of the people of the east.

2. అతడు చూచినప్పుడు పొలములో ఒక బావి కనబడెను. అక్కడ దానియొద్ద గొఱ్ఱెల మందలు మూడు పండుకొని యుండెను; కాపరులు మందలకు ఆ బావి నీళ్లు పెట్టుదురు; ఒక పెద్ద రాయి ఆ బావిమీద మూతవేసి యుండెను.

2. And [as] he loked about, beholde, there was a wel in the field, and loe, three flockes of sheepe lay there by, for at that well were the flockes watered: and there was a great stone vpon the well mouth.

3. అక్కడికి మందలన్నియు కూడి వచ్చునప్పుడు బావిమీదనుండి ఆ రాతిని పొర్లించి, గొఱ్ఱెలకు నీళ్లు పెట్టి తిరిగి బావిమీది రాతిని దాని చోటనుంచుదురు.

3. And thyther were all the flockes brought, and they roulled the stone fro the welles mouth, & watred the sheepe, & put the stone agayne vpon the welles mouth vnto his place.

4. యాకోబు వారిని చూచి అన్నలారా, మీ రెక్కడివారని అడుగగా వారు మేము హారానువార మనిరి.

4. And Iacob saide vnto them: My brethren, whence be ye? And they sayde: of Haran are we.

5. అతడు - నాహోరు కుమారుడగు లాబానును మీరెరుగుదురా అని వారినడుగగా వారు ఎరుగుదుమనిరి.

5. And he sayde vnto them: Knowe ye Laban the sonne of Nachor? They sayde: we knowe hym.

6. మరియు అతడు అతడు క్షేమముగా ఉన్నాడా అని అడుగగా వారు క్షేమముగానే ఉన్నాడు; ఇదిగో అతని కుమార్తెయైన రాహేలు గొఱ్ఱెలవెంట వచ్చుచున్నదని చెప్పిరి.

6. And he sayde vnto them: is he in good health? And they sayde: he is in good health, and beholde his daughter Rachel commeth with the sheepe.

7. అతడు - ఇదిగో ఇంక చాలా ప్రొద్దు ఉన్నది, పశువులను పోగుచేయు వేళకాలేదు, గొఱ్ఱెలకు నీళ్లు పెట్టి, పోయి వాటిని మేపుడని చెప్పగా

7. And he sayde: loe [it is] yet a great whyle to nyght, neither is it tyme that the cattell should be gathered together: water ye the sheepe, and go and feede [them.]

8. వారు మందలన్నియు పోగుకాకమునుపు అది మావలన కాదు, తరువాత బావిమీదనుండి రాయి పొర్లించుదురు; అప్పుడే మేము గొఱ్ఱెలకు నీళ్లు పెట్టుదుమనిరి.

8. And they sayde: we may not vntyll all the flockes be brought together, and tyl they roule the stone from the welles mouth, and so we water our sheepe.

9. అతడు వారితో ఇంక మాటలాడుచుండగా రాహేలు తన తండ్రి గొఱ్ఱెల మందను తోలుకొని వచ్చెను; ఆమె వాటిని మేపునది.

9. Whyle he yet talked with them, Rachel came with her fathers sheepe: for she kept them.

10. యాకోబు తన తల్లి సహోదరుడైన లాబాను కుమార్తెయగు రాహేలును, తన తల్లి సహోదరుడగు లాబాను గొఱ్ఱెలను చూచినప్పుడు అతడు దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి బావిమీదనుండి రాతిని పొర్లించి తన తల్లి సహోదరుడగు లాబాను గొఱ్ఱెలకు నీళ్లు పెట్టెను. యాకోబు రాహేలును ముద్దుపెట్టుకొని యెలుగెత్తి యేడ్చెను.

10. Assoone as Iacob sawe Rachel the daughter of Laban his mothers brother, & the sheepe of Laban his mothers brother, Iacob went & rouled the stone from the welles mouth, & watered the flocke of Laban his mothers brother.

11. మరియు యాకోబు తాను ఆమె తండ్రి బంధువుడనియు,

11. And Iacob kyssed Rachel, and lift vp his voyce and wept.

12. రిబ్కా కుమారుడనియు రాహేలుతో చెప్పినప్పుడు ఆమె పరుగెత్తిపోయి తన తండ్రితో చెప్పెను.

12. And Iacob tolde Rachel that he was her fathers brother, and that he was Rebeccaes sonne: Therefore ranne she and tolde her father.

13. లాబాను తన సహోదరి కుమారుడైన యాకోబు సమాచారము వినినప్పుడు అతనిని ఎదుర్కొనుటకు పరుగెత్తికొని వచ్చి అతని కౌగలించి ముద్దు పెట్టుకొని తన యింటికి తోడుకొని పోయెను. అతడు ఈ సంగతులన్నియు లాబానుతో చెప్పెను.

13. And when Laban hearde certaynely tell of Iacob his sisters sonne, he ranne to meete hym, and imbraced hym, and kyssed hym, and brought hym to his house: And he tolde Laban all these thynges.

14. అప్పుడు లాబాను నిజముగా నీవు నా ఎముకయు నా మాంసమునై యున్నావు అనెను. అతడు నెల దినములు అతనియొద్ద నివసించిన తరువాత

14. To whom Laban sayde: Well, thou art my bone & my fleshe. And he abode with hym the space of a moneth.

15. లాబాను నీవు నా బంధువుడవైనందున ఊరకయే నాకు కొలువు చేసెదవా? నీకేమి జీతము కావలెనో చెప్పుమని యాకోబు నడిగెను.

15. And Laban said vnto Iacob: Though thou be my brother, shouldest thou therfore serue me for naught? Tell me what shall thy wages be?

16. లాబాను కిద్దరు కుమార్తెలుండిరి. వారిలో పెద్దదాని పేరు లేయా; చిన్నదాని పేరు రాహేలు.

16. Laban had two daughters, the elder called Lea, and the younger Rachel.

17. లేయా జబ్బు కండ్లు గలది; రాహేలు రూపవతియు సుందరియునై యుండెను.

17. Lea was tender eyed: but Rachel was beautifull and well fauoured.

18. యాకోబు రాహేలును ప్రేమించి నీ చిన్న కుమార్తెయైన రాహేలు కోసము నీకు ఏడు సంవత్సరములు కొలువు చేసెదననెను.

18. And Iacob loued Rachel, and sayde: I wyll serue thee seuen yere for Rachel thy younger daughter.

19. అందుకు లాబాను ఆమెను అన్యునికిచ్చుటకంటె నీకిచ్చుట మేలు; నాయొద్ద ఉండుమని చెప్పగా

19. Laban aunswered: It is better that I geue her [vnto] thee, then that I shoulde geue her to another man: abide with me.

20. యాకోబు రాహేలు కోసము ఏడు సంవత్సరములు కొలువు చేసెను. అయినను అతడు ఆమెను ప్రేమించుటవలన అవి అతనికి కొద్ది దినములుగా తోచెను.

20. And Iacob serued seuen yere for Rachel: and they seemed vnto hym but a fewe dayes, for the loue he hadde to her.

21. తరువాత యాకోబు నా దినములు సంపూర్ణమైనవి గనుక నేను నా భార్యయొద్దకు పోవునట్లు ఆమెను నాకిమ్మని లాబాను నడుగగా

21. And Iacob said vnto Laban: geue [me] my wife that I may lye with her, for my dayes are fulfylled.

22. లాబాను ఆ స్థలములోనున్న మనుష్యుల నందరిని పోగుచేసి విందు చేయించి

22. Then Laban gathered together all the men of that place, and made a feast.

23. రాత్రి వేళ తన కుమార్తెయైన లేయాను అతని యొద్దకు తీసికొని పోగా యాకోబు ఆమెను కూడెను.

23. And when euen was come, he toke Lea his daughter, and brought her to hym, and he went in to her.

24. మరియు లాబాను తన దాసియైన జిల్పాను తన కుమార్తెయైన లేయాకు దాసిగా ఇచ్చెను.

24. And Laban gaue vnto his daughter Lea Zilpha his mayde [to be] her seruaunt.

25. ఉదయమందు ఆమెను లేయా అని యెరిగి అతడు లాబానుతో నీవు నాకు చేసిన పని యేమిటి? రాహేలు కోసమే గదా నీకు కొలువు చేసితిని? ఎందుకు నన్ను మోసపుచ్చితివనెను.

25. And when the mornyng was come, beholde it was Lea. Then sayde he to Laban: Wherefore hast thou played thus with me? dyd not I serue thee for Rachel? wherfore then hast thou begyled me?

26. అందుకు లాబాను పెద్ద దానికంటె ముందుగా చిన్నదాని నిచ్చుట మాదేశ మర్యాదకాదు.

26. Laban aunswered: It is not the maner of this place, to marry ye younger before the first borne.

27. ఈమె యొక్క వారము సంపూర్ణము చేయుము; నీవిక యేడు సంవత్సరములు నాకు కొలువు చేసినయెడల అందుకై ఆమెను కూడ నీకిచ్చెదమని చెప్పగా

27. Passe out this weeke, & then we wyll geue thee this also for the seruice whiche thou shalt serue me yet seuen yeres more.

28. యాకోబు అలాగు చేసి ఆమె వారము సంపూర్తియైన తరువాత అతడు తన కుమార్తెయైన రాహేలును అతనికి భార్యగా ఇచ్చెను.

28. And Iacob dyd euen so, and passed out the weeke: and then he gaue hym Rachel his daughter to wyfe also.

29. మరియు లాబాను తన దాసియగు బిల్హాను తన కుమార్తెయైన రాహేలుకు దాసిగా ఇచ్చెను.

29. And Laban gaue to Rachel his daughter Bilha his handmayde, to be her seruaunt.

30. యాకోబు రాహేలును కూడెను, మరియు అతడు లేయాకంటె రాహేలును బహుగా ప్రేమించి అతనికి మరియేడేండ్లు కొలువు చేసెను.

30. So lay he by Rachel also, and loued Rachel more then Lea, and serued hym yet seuen yeres more.

31. లేయా ద్వేషింపబడుట యెహోవా చూచి ఆమె గర్భము తెరిచెను, రాహేలు గొడ్రాలై యుండెను.

31. When the Lorde sawe that Lea was despised, he made her fruitfull, and Rachel remayned baren.

32. లేయా గర్భవతియై కుమారుని కని, యెహోవా నా శ్రమను చూచియున్నాడు గనుక నా పెనిమిటి నన్ను ప్రేమించును గదా అనుకొని అతనికి రూబేను అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

32. And Lea conceaued and bare a sonne, and she called his name Ruben: for she sayde, the Lord hath loked vpon my tribulation: nowe therfore my husband wyll loue me.

33. ఆమె మరల గర్భవతియై కుమారుని కని నేను ద్వేషింపబడితినన్న సంగతి యెహోవా విన్నాడు గనుక ఇతనికూడ నాకు దయచేసెననుకొని అతనికి షిమ్యోను అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

33. And she conceaued agayne, and bare a sonne, & sayde: The Lorde hath hearde that I am despised, and hath therefore geuen me this [sonne] also: and she called his name Simeon.

34. ఆమె మరల గర్భవతియై కుమారుని కని తుదకు ఈ సారి నా పెనిమిటి నాతో హత్తుకొని యుండును; అతనికి ముగ్గురు కుమారులను కంటిననుకొనెను. అందుచేత అతనికి లేవి అను పేరు పెట్టెను

34. And she conceaued yet, & bare a sonne, and sayde: Nowe this once wyll my husbande kepe me company, because I haue borne him three sonnes: and therfore was his name called Leui.

35. ఆమె మరల గర్భవతియై కుమారుని కని ఈ - సారి యెహోవాను స్తుతించెదననుకొని యూదా అను పేరు పెట్టెను. అప్పుడామెకు కానుపు ఉడిగెను.

35. And she conceaued yet agayne, and bare hym a sonne, saying: Nowe wyll I prayse the Lorde. Therefore she called his name Iuda, & left bearyng.
