1. కావున యెహోవా నాతానును దావీదునొద్దకు పంపెను; అతడు వచ్చి దావీదుతో ఇట్లనెనుఒకానొక పట్టణమందు ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులు ఉండిరి.

1. ADONAI sent Natan to David. He came and said to him, 'In a certain city there were two men, one rich, the other poor.

2. ఒకడు ఐశ్వర్య వంతుడు ఒకడు దరిద్రుడు. ఐశ్వర్యవంతునికి విస్తారమైన గొఱ్ఱెలును గొడ్లును కలిగియుండెను.

2. The rich man had vast flocks and herds;

3. అయితే ఆ దరిద్రునికి తాను కొనుక్కొనిన యొక చిన్న ఆడు గొఱ్ఱె పిల్ల తప్ప ఏమియు లేకపోయెను. వాడు దానిని పెంచు కొనుచుండగా అది వానియొద్దను వాని బిడ్డలయొద్దను ఉండి పెరిగి వాని చేతిముద్దలు తినుచు వాని గిన్నెలోనిది త్రాగుచు వాని కౌగిట పండుకొనుచు వానికి కుమార్తెవలె ఉండెను.

3. but the poor man had nothing, except for one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and reared. It had grown up with him and his children; it ate from his plate, drank from his cup, lay on his chest- it was like a daughter to him.

4. అట్లుండగా మార్గస్థుడొకడు ఐశ్వర్యవంతుని యొద్దకు వచ్చెను. అతడు తనయొద్దకు వచ్చిన మార్గస్థునికి ఆయత్తము చేయుటకు తన గొఱ్ఱెలలోగాని గొడ్లలోగాని దేనిని ముట్టనొల్లక, ఆ దరిద్రుని గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లను పట్టుకొని, తన యొద్దకు వచ్చినవానికి ఆయత్తము చేసెను.

4. One day a traveler visited the rich man, and instead of picking an animal from his own flock or herd to cook for his visitor, he took the poor man's lamb and cooked it for the man who had come to him.'

5. దావీదు ఈ మాట విని ఆ మనుష్యునిమీద బహుగా కోపించు కొనియెహోవా జీవముతోడు నిశ్చయముగా ఈ కార్యము చేసినవాడు మరణపాత్రుడు.

5. David exploded with anger against the man and said to Natan, 'As ADONAI lives, the man who did this deserves to die!

6. వాడు కని కరము లేక యీ కార్యము చేసెను గనుక ఆ గొఱ్ఱె పిల్లకు ప్రతిగా నాలుగు గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లల నియ్యవలెనని నాతానుతో అనెను.

6. For doing such a thing, he has to pay back four times the value of the lamb- and also because he had no pity.'

7. నాతాను దావీదును చూచిఆ మనుష్యుడవు నీవే. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమ నగాఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద నేను నిన్ను రాజుగా పట్టాభిషేకముచేసి సౌలు చేతిలోనుండి నిన్ను విడిపించి నీ యజమానుని నగరిని నీకను గ్రహించి

7. Natan said to David, 'You are the man. 'Here is what ADONAI, the God of Isra'el says: 'I anointed you king over Isra'el. I rescued you from the power of Sha'ul.

8. నీ యజమానుని స్త్రీలను నీ కౌగిట చేర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని యూదా వారిని నీ కప్పగించితిని. ఇది చాలదని నీవనుకొనినయెడల నేను మరి ఎక్కువగా నీకిచ్చియుందును.

8. I gave you your master's house and your master's wives to embrace. I gave you the house of Isra'el and the house of Y'hudah. And if that had been too little, I would have added to you a lot more.

9. నీవు యెహోవా మాటను తృణీకరించి ఆయన దృష్టికి చెడుతనము చేసితి వేమి? హిత్తీయుడగు ఊరియాను కత్తిచేత చంపించి అతని భార్యను నీకు భార్య యగునట్లుగా నీవు పట్టుకొని యున్నావు; అమ్మోనీయులచేత నీవతని చంపించితివి గదా?

9. ''So why have you shown such contempt for the word of ADONAI and done what I see as evil? You murdered Uriyah the Hitti with the sword and taken his wife as your own wife; you put him to death with the sword of the people of 'Amon.

10. నీవు నన్ను లక్ష్యము చేయక హిత్తీయుడగు ఊరియా భార్యను నీకు భార్య యగునట్లు తీసికొనినందున నీ యింటివారికి సదాకాలము యుద్ధము కలుగును.

10. Now therefore, the sword will never leave your house- because you have shown contempt for me and taken the wife of Uriyah the Hitti as your own wife.'

11. నా మాట ఆలకించుము; యెహోవానగు నేను సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగానీ యింటివారి మూలముననే నేను నీకు అపా యము పుట్టింతును; నీవు చూచుచుండగా నేను నీ భార్యలను తీసి నీ చేరువ వానికప్పగించెదను.

11. Here is what ADONAI says: 'I will generate evil against you out of your own household. I will take your wives before your very eyes and give them to your neighbor; he will go to bed with your wives, and everyone will know about it.

12. పగటియందు వాడు వారితో శయనించును. నీవు ఈ కార్యము రహస్యముగా చేసితివిగాని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు చూచుచుండగా పగటియందే నేను చెప్పినదానిని చేయింతును అనెను.

12. For you did it secretly, but I will do this before all Isra'el in broad daylight.''

13. నేను పాపముచేసితినని దావీదు నాతానుతో అనగా నాతానునీవు చావకుండునట్లు యెహోవా నీ పాపమును పరిహరించెను.

13. David said to Natan, 'I have sinned against ADONAI.' Natan said to David, 'ADONAI also has taken away your sin. You will not die.

14. అయితే ఈ కార్యము వలన యెహోవాను దూషించుటకు ఆయన శత్రువులకు నీవు గొప్ప హేతువు కలుగజేసితివి

14. However, because by this act you have so greatly blasphemed ADONAI, the child born to you must die.'

15. గనుక నీకు పుట్టిన బిడ్డ నిశ్చయముగా చచ్చునని దావీదుతో చెప్పి తన యింటికి వెళ్లెను.

15. Then Natan returned to his house. ADONAI struck the child that Uriyah's wife had borne to David, and it became very ill.

16. యెహోవా ఊరియా భార్య దావీదునకు కనిన బిడ్డను మొత్తినందున అది బహు జబ్బుపడెను.

16. David prayed to God on behalf of the child; David fasted, then came and lay all night on the ground.

17. దావీదు ఉప వాసముండి లోపలికి పోయి రాత్రి అంతయు నేలపడి యుండి బిడ్డకొరకు దేవుని బతిమాలగా, ఇంటిలో ఎన్నిక యైనవారు లేచి అతనిని నేలనుండి లేవనెత్తుటకు వచ్చిరిగాని అతడు సమ్మతింపక వారితోకూడ భోజనము చేయక యుండెను.

17. The court officials got up and stood next to him trying to get him off the ground, but he refused, and he wouldn't eat food with them.

18. ఏడవ దినమున బిడ్డ చావగాబిడ్డ ప్రాణముతో ఉండగా మేము అతనితో మాటిలాడినప్పుడు అతడు మా మాటలు వినక యుండెను.

18. On the seventh day, the child died. The servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, because they said, 'While the child was still alive, we spoke to him, and he didn't listen to us; if we tell him now that the child is dead, he may do himself some harm.'

19. ఇప్పుడు బిడ్డ చనిపోయెనని మనము అతనితో చెప్పినయెడల తనకుతాను హాని చేసికొనునేమో యనుకొని, దావీదు సేవకులు బిడ్డ చనిపోయెనను సంగతి అతనితో చెప్ప వెరచిరి. అయితే దావీదు తన సేవకులు గుసగుసలాడుట చూచి బిడ్డ చనిపోయెనను సంగతి గ్రహించిబిడ్డ చనిపోయెనా అని తన సేవకుల నడుగగా వారుచని పోయెననిరి.

19. But when David saw his servants whispering to each other, he suspected that the child was dead. David asked his servants, 'Is the child dead?' and they answered, 'He is dead.'

20. అప్పుడు దావీదు నేలనుండి లేచి స్నానముచేసి తైలము పూసికొని వేరు వస్త్రములు ధరించి యెహోవా మందిరములో ప్రవేశించి మ్రొక్కి తన యింటికి తిరిగి వచ్చి భోజనము తెమ్మనగా వారు వడ్డించిరి; అప్పుడు అతడు భోజనము చేసెను.

20. Then David got up off the ground, washed, anointed himself and changed his clothes. He went into the house of ADONAI and worshipped; then he went to his own palace; and when he asked for food, they served it to him; and he ate.

21. అతని సేవకులుబిడ్డ జీవముతో ఉండగా ఉప వాసముండి దానికొరకు ఏడ్చుచుంటివి గాని అది మరణ మైనప్పుడు లేచి భోజనము చేసితివి. నీవీలాగున చేయుట ఏమని దావీదు నడుగగా

21. His servants asked him, 'What are you doing? You fasted and wept for the child while it was alive; but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat food!'

22. అతడుబిడ్డ ప్రాణముతో ఉన్నప్పుడు దేవుడు నాయందు కనికరించి వాని బ్రదికించునేమో యనుకొని నేను ఉపవాసముండి యేడ్చు చుంటిని.

22. He answered, 'While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; because I thought, 'Maybe ADONAI will show his grace to me and let the child live.'

23. ఇప్పుడు చనిపోయెను గనుక నేనెందుకు ఉప వాసముండవలెను? వానిని తిరిగి రప్పించగలనా? నేను వానియొద్దకు పోవుదును గాని వాడు నాయొద్దకు మరల రాడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

23. But now that he's dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.'

24. తరువాత దావీదు తన భార్యయైన బత్షెబను ఓదార్చి ఆమెయొద్దకు పోయి ఆమెను కూడగా ఆమె యొక కుమారుని కనెను. దావీదు అతనికి సొలొమోను అని పేరు పెట్టెను.

24. David comforted his wife Bat-Sheva, came to her and went to bed with her; she gave birth to a son and named him Shlomo. ADONAI loved him

25. యెహోవా అతనిని ప్రేమించి నాతాను అను ప్రవక్తను పంపగా అతడు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞనుబట్టి యదీద్యా అని అతనికి పేరు పెట్టెను.

25. and sent through Natan the prophet to have him named Y'didyah [[loved by God]], for ADONAI's sake.

26. యోవాబు రబ్బా అను అమ్మోనీయుల పట్టణముమీద యుద్ధము చేసి రాజనగరిని పట్టుకొనెను.

26. Yo'av fought against Rabbah of the people of 'Amon and took the royal city.

27. దావీదునొద్దకు అతడు దూతలను పంపినేను రబ్బామీద యుద్ధముచేసి జలములమీది పట్టణమును పట్టుకొంటిని;

27. Yo'av sent people to David with this message: 'I have fought against Rabbah and captured its water supply.

28. నేను పట్టణమును పట్టుకొని నా పేరు దానికి పెట్టకుండునట్లు మిగిలిన దండువారిని సమకూర్చి నీవు పట్టణమును పట్టుకొనవలెనని వర్తమానము చేయగా

28. Therefore, assemble the rest of the people; lay siege to the city; and capture it. Otherwise, I will capture the city; and it will be named after me!'

29. దావీదు యోధులను సమకూర్చి రబ్బాకు వచ్చి దానిమీద యుద్ధముచేసి దానిని పట్టుకొని, వారి రాజు కిరీటమును అతని తలమీదనుండి తీయించగా అది దావీదు తలమీద పెట్టబడెను. అది విలువగల రత్నములు చెక్కినదై రెండు బంగారు మనుగులంత యెత్తుండెను.

29. David assembled all the people, went to Rabbah, fought against it and captured it.

30. మరియు అతడు పట్టణములోనుండి బహు విస్తారమైన దోపుసొమ్ము పట్టుకొని పోయెను.

30. He took the crown off Malkam's head; it weighed sixty-six pounds, with its gold and precious stones; and it was placed on David's head. He carried off great quantities of spoil from the city.

31. పట్టణములో ఉన్నవారిని బయటికి తెప్పించి రంపములచేతను పదును గల యినుప పనిముట్లచేతను ఇనుప గొడ్డండ్లచేతను వారిని తుత్తునియలుగా చేయించి వారిని ఇటుక ఆవములో వేసెను. అమ్మోనీయుల పట్టణములన్నిటికి అతడు ఈలాగు చేసెను. ఆ తరువాత దావీదును జనులందరును తిరిగి యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చిరి.

31. In addition, he expelled the people who were in it and set them to work with saws, iron harrows and iron axes, or had them cross over to work in the brick factory. This is what he did to all the cities of the people of 'Amon. Then David and all the people returned to Yerushalayim.
