1. బెన్యామీనీయుడగు బిక్రి కుమారుడైన షెబయను పనికిమాలినవాడొకడు అచ్చటనుండెను. వాడుదావీదునందు మనకు భాగము లేదు, యెష్షయి కుమారునియందు మనకు స్వాస్థ్యము ఎంతమాత్రమును లేదు; ఇశ్రాయేలు వారలారా, మీరందరు మీ మీ గుడారములకు పొండని బాకా ఊది ప్రకటన చేయగా

1. When there came thither a certaine man of Belial, named Seba, the sonne of Bichri, a man of Iemini, he blew a trumpet, and said: we haue no part in Dauid, neither haue we inheritaunce in the sonne of Isai: euery man to his tentes, O Israel.

2. ఇశ్రాయేలువారందరు దావీదును విడిచి బిక్రి కుమారుడైన షెబనువెంబడించిరి. అయితే యొర్దాను నదినుండి యెరూషలేమువరకు యూదా వారు రాజును హత్తుకొనిరి.

2. And so euery man of Israel went fro Dauid, and folowed Seba the sonne of Bichri: But the men of Iuda claue fast vnto their king from Iordane to Hierusalem.

3. దావీదు యెరూషలేములోని తన నగరికి వచ్చి, తన యింటికి తాను కాపుగా నుంచిన తన ఉపపత్నులైన పదిమంది స్త్రీలను తీసికొని వారిని కావలిలో ఉంచి వారిని పోషించుచుండెను గాని వారియొద్దకు పోకుండెను; వారు కావలి యందుంచబడిన వారై బ్రతికినంతకాలము విధవరాండ్రవలె ఉండిరి.

3. And Dauid came to his house to Hierusalem, and the king toke the ten women his concubines, that he had left behind him to kepe ye house, & put them in warde, & fed them, but lay no more with them: And so they were inclosed vnto the day of their death, lyuing in wydowhood.

4. తరువాత రాజు అమాశాను పిలువనంపిమూడు దిన ములలోగా నీవు నా దగ్గరకు యూదావారినందరిని సమ కూర్చి యిక్కడ హాజరుకమ్మని ఆజ్ఞాపించగా

4. Then saide the king to Amasa: Call me the men of Iuda together within three dayes, and be thou here also.

5. అమాశా యూదా వారిని సమకూర్చుటకై వెళ్లిపోయెను. అతడు ఆలస్యము చేసినందున అతనికి నిర్ణయించిన కాలము మీరి పోయినప్పుడు

5. And so Amasa went to gather ye men of Iuda together, but taryed longer the the time which he had appoynted him.

6. దావీదు అబీషైని పిలువనంపిబిక్రి కుమారుడైన షెబ అబ్షాలోముకంటె మనకు ఎక్కువ కీడుచేయును; వాడు ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణములలో చొచ్చి మనకు దొరకక పోవునేమో గనుక నీవు నీ యేలినవాని సేవకులను వెంట బెట్టుకొని పోయి వాని తరిమి పట్టుకొనుమని ఆజ్ఞాపించెను.

6. And Dauid saide to Abisai: Now shal Seba the sonne of Bichri do vs more harme then did Absalom: Take thou therefore thy lordes seruauntes, and folowe after him, lest he get him walled cities, and escape vs.

7. కాబట్టి యోవాబు వారును కెరేతీయులును పెలేతీయులును బలాఢ్యులందరును అతనితో కూడ యెరూషలేములోనుండి బయలుదేరి బిక్రి కుమారుడగు షెబను తరుమబోయిరి.

7. And there went out after him Ioabs men, and the Cerethites, and the Phelethites, and all the mightyest men: And they departed out of Hierusalem, to folow after Seba the sonne of Bichri.

8. వారు గిబియోనులో ఉన్న పెద్ద బండదగ్గరకు రాగా అమాశా వారిని కలియ వచ్చెను; యోవాబు తాను తొడుగుకొనిన చొక్కాయకు పైన బిగించియున్న నడికట్టుకు వరగల కతి ్తకట్టుకొనియుండగా ఆ వర వదులై కత్తి నేలపడెను.

8. And when they were at ye great stone in Gibeon, Amasa went before them: And Ioabs garment that he had about him, was girde vnto him, & he had gyrded thereon a sword, which was ioyned fast to his loynes in a sheath, that as he went it fell sometime out.

9. అప్పుడు యోవాబు అమాశాతోనా సహోదరా, నీవు క్షేమముగా ఉన్నావా అనుచు, అమాశాను ముద్దుపెట్టు కొనునట్లుగా కుడిచేత అతని గడ్డము పట్టుకొని

9. And Ioab saide to Amasa: Art thou in health my brother? And Ioab toke Amasa by ye beard with the right hand, to kisse him.

10. అమాశా యోవాబు చేతిలోనున్న కత్తిని చూడకను తన్ను కాపాడు కొనకను ఉండగా యోవాబు అతని కడుపులో దాని గుచ్చెను; గుచ్చినతోడనే అతని పేగులు నేలకు జారి ఆ దెబ్బతోనే అతడు చనిపోయెను. యోవాబును అతని సహోదరుడగు అబీషైయును బిక్రి కుమారుడగు షెబను తరుముటకు సాగిపోగా

10. But Amasa toke no heede to the sword that was in Ioabs hand: for therewith he smote him in the fyst [rybbe] & shed out his bowels to the grounde, and thrust at him no more, & he dyed: So Ioab and Abisai his brother folowed after Seba the sonne of Bichri.

11. యోవాబు బంటులలో ఒకడు అతనిదగ్గర నిలిచియోవాబును ఇష్టులైన దావీదు పక్ష ముననున్న వారందరు యోవాబును వెంబడించుడని ప్రకటన చేసెను.

11. And one of Ioabs men stoode by him, and saide: He that beareth any fauour to Ioab, or good will to Dauid, let him go after Ioab.

12. అమాశా రక్తములో పొర్లుచు మార్గమునపడియుండగా అచ్చోటికి వచ్చిన జనులందరు నిలిచియుండుట ఆ మనుష్యుడు చూచి అమాశాను మార్గమునుండి చేనిలోనికి లాగి, మార్గస్థులందరు నిలిచి తేరిచూడకుండ శవముమీద బట్ట కప్పెను.

12. And Amasa wallowed in blood in the middes of the way: And when the man sawe that all the people stoode still, he remoued Amasa out of the way into the fielde, and cast a cloth vpon him, because he saw that euery one that came by him stoode still.

13. శవము మార్గమునుండి తీయబడిన తరువాత జనులందరు బిక్రి కుమారుడగు షెబను తరుముటకై యోవాబు వెంబడి వెళ్లిరి.

13. And assoone as he was remoued out of the way, al the people went after Ioab, to folow after Seba the sonne of Bichri.

14. అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు గోత్రపు వారందరియొద్దకును ఆబేలువారియొద్దకును బేత్మయకావారియొద్దకును బెరీయులందరియొద్దకును రాగా వారు కూడుకొని అతని వెంబడించిరి.

14. And he went thorow all the tribes of Israel, vnto Abel, and to Bethmaacha, and all the places of Berim: And they gathered together, and went after him.

15. ఈ ప్రకారము వారు వచ్చి ఆబేలు బేత్మయకాయందు బిక్రిని ముట్టడివేసి పట్టణపు ప్రాకారము ఎదుట బురుజు కట్టగా యోవాబు వారందరు ప్రాకారమును పడవేయుటకు దానిని కొట్టిరి.

15. And they came and besieged him in Abel, neare to Bethmaacha: And they cast vp a bancke against the citie, and the people therof stoode on the ramper, and all the people that was with Ioab, thrust at the wall to ouerthrowe it.

16. అప్పుడు యుక్తిగల యొక స్త్రీ ప్రాకారము ఎక్కిఓహో ఆలకించుడి, ఆలకించుడి, నేను అతనితో మాటలాడునట్లు యోవాబును ఇక్కడికి రమ్మని చెప్పుడని కేకవేయగా యోవాబు ఆమెదగ్గరకు వచ్చెను.

16. Then cryed a wyse woman out of the citie, heare, heare, I pray you say vnto Ioab: Come hither that I may speake with thee.

17. అంతట ఆమెయోవాబువు నీవేనా అని అతని నడుగగా అతడునేనే అనెను. అందుకామెనీ దాసురాలనగు నేను నీతో మాటలాడుదునా అని అడుగగా అతడుమాటలాడ వచ్చుననెను.

17. When Ioab was come vnto her, the woman saide: Art thou Ioab? He aunswered: I am he. She saide vnto him: Heare the wordes of thyne handmayd. And he aunswered: I do heare.

18. అంతట ఆమెపూర్వకాల మున జనులుఆబేలునందు సంగతి విచారింపవలెనని చెప్పుట కద్దు; ఆలాగున చేసి కార్యములు ముగించుచు వచ్చిరి.

18. Then she spake thus: They spake in the olde tyme, saying, They should aske of Abel: And so haue they continued.

19. నేను ఇశ్రాయేలునందు నిమ్మళస్థుల లోను యధార్థవంతులలోను చేరికయైనదానను; ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పట్టణములలో ప్రధానమగు ఒక పట్టణమును లయము చేయవలెనని నీవు ఉద్దేశించుచున్నావు; యెహోవా స్వాస్థ్యమును నీవెందుకు నిర్మూలము చేయుదు వని చెప్పగా

19. I am one of them that are peaceable & faithfull in Israel, and thou goest about to destroy a citie, and a mother in Israel: Why wilt thou deuour the inheritaunce of the Lorde?

20. యోవాబునిర్మూలము చేయను, లయ పరచను, ఆలాగున చేయనే చేయను, సంగతి అది కానే కాదు.

20. And Ioab aunswered, and sayd: God forbyd, God forbid it me that I should either deuour, or destroy.

21. బిక్రి కుమారుడగు షెబ అను ఎఫ్రాయిము మన్యపువాడు ఒకడు రాజైన దావీదుమీద ద్రోహము చేసియున్నాడు; మీరు వానిని మాత్రము అప్పగించుడి; తోడనే నేను ఈ పట్టణము విడిచిపోవుదునని చెప్పగా ఆమె యోవాబుతోచిత్తము, వాని తల ప్రాకారము పైనుండి పడవేయబడునని చెప్పిపోయి

21. The matter is not so: But a man of mount Ephraim (Seba the sonne of Bichri by name) hath lyft vp his hand against the king, euen against Dauid: Delyuer vs him onely, & I wyll depart from the citie. And the woman said vnto Ioab: Behold, his head shalbe throwen to thee ouer the wall.

22. తాను యోవాబుతో పలికిన యుక్తిగల మాటలను జనులందరికి తెలియ జేయగా, వారు బిక్రి కుమారుడగు షెబయొక్క తలను ఛేదించి యోవాబు దగ్గర దాని పడవేసిరి. కాగా అతడు బాకా ఊదించిన తరువాత జనులందరును ఆ పట్టణమును విడిచి యెవరి గుడారములకు వారు పోయిరి; యోవాబు యెరూషలేమునకు రాజునొద్దకు తిరిగి వచ్చెను.

22. And then the woman went vnto all the people with her wisedome, and they smote of the head of Seba ye sonne of Bichri, and cast it out to Ioab: And he blew a trumpet, & they retyred from the citie, euery man to his tent: And Ioab returned to Hierusalem, vnto the king.

23. యోవాబు ఇశ్రాయేలు దండువారందరికి అధిపతియై యుండెను. అయితే కెరేతీయులకును పెలేతీయులకును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడగు బెనాయా అధిపతియై యుండెను.

23. Ioab was ouer all the hoast of Israel, and Banaia the sonne of Iehoida was ouer the Cerethites & Phelethites.

24. అదోరాము వెట్టిపనులు చేయువారిమీద అధికారియై యుండెను;

24. And Aduram was ouer the tribute, and Iehosaphat the sonne of Ahilud, was recorder.

25. అహీలూదు కుమారుడగు యెహోషాపాతు రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీద ఉండెను; షెవా లేఖికుడు;

25. Seua was scribe, and Sadoc and Abiathar were the priestes.

26. సాదోకును అబ్యాతారును యాజకులు; యాయీరీయుడగు ఈరా దావీదునకు సభాముఖ్యుడు1.

26. And Ira the Iairite was chiefe about Dauid.
