1. మోయాబీయులు ఎదోమీయులు అమ్మోనీయులు సీదోనీయులు హిత్తీయులు అను జనులు మీ హృదయ ములను తమ దేవతలతట్టు త్రిప్పుదురు గనుక వారితో సహవాసము చేయకూడదనియు, వారిని మీతో సహవాసము చేయనియ్యకూడదనియు యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులకు సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు. అయితే రాజైన సొలొమోను ఫరో కుమార్తెనుగాక ఆ జనులలో ఇంక అనేక మంది పరస్త్రీలను మోహించి

1. And King Solomon was a lover of women. And he took strange women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh, Moabite and Ammonite women, Syrians and Edomites, Hittites and Amorites;

2. కామాతురత గలవాడై వారిని ఉంచుకొనుచు వచ్చెను.

2. of the nations concerning whom the Lord forbade the children of Israel, [saying], You shall not go in to them, and they shall not come in to you, lest they turn away your hearts after their idols; Solomon clung to these in love.

3. అతనికి ఏడు వందలమంది రాజకుమార్తెలైన భార్యలును మూడువందల మంది ఉప పత్నులును కలిగియుండిరి; అతని భార్యలు అతని హృదయ మును త్రిప్పివేసిరి.

3. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And the strange women turned away his heart after their gods.

4. సొలొమోను వృద్ధుడైనప్పుడు అతని భార్యలు అతని హృదయమును ఇతర దేవతలతట్టు త్రిప్పగా అతని తండ్రియైన దావీదు హృదయమువలె అతని హృదయము దేవుడైన యెహోవాయెడల యథార్థము కాక పోయెను.

4. And it came to pass in the time of Solomon's old age, that his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as [was] the heart of David his father.

5. సొలొమోను అష్తారోతు అను సీదోనీయుల దేవతను మిల్కోము అను అమ్మోనీయుల హేయమైన దేవతను అనుసరించి నడిచెను.

5. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth, the abomination of the Sidonians.

6. ఈ ప్రకారము సొలొమోను యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడు నడత నడచి తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు అనుసరించినట్లు యథార్థహృదయముతో యెహోవాను అనుసరింపలేదు.

6. And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he went not after the Lord, as David his father.

7. సొలొమోను కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల హేయమైన దేవతకును మొలెకు అను అమ్మోనీయుల హేయమైన దేవతకును యెరూష లేము ఎదుటనున్న కొండమీద బలిపీఠములను కట్టించెను.

7. Then Solomon built a high place to Chemosh the idol of Moab, and to their king the idol of the children of Ammon.

8. తమ దేవతలకు ధూపము వేయుచు బలుల నర్పించుచుండిన పరస్త్రీలైన తన భార్యల నిమిత్తము అతడు ఈలాగు చేసెను.

8. And thus he acted towards all his strange wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their idols.

9. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా అతనికి రెండు మారులు ప్రత్యక్షమై

9. And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because he turned away his heart from the Lord God of Israel, who had appeared twice to him,

10. నీవు ఇతర దేవతలను వెంబడింప వలదని అతనికి ఆజ్ఞాపించినను సొలొమోను హృదయము ఆయన యొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోయెను. యెహోవా తన కిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞను అతడు గైకొనకపోగా యెహోవా అతని మీద కోపగించి

10. and charged him concerning this matter, by no means to go after other gods, but to take heed to do what the Lord God commanded him; neither was his heart perfect with the Lord, according to the heart of David his father.

11. సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగానేను నీతో చేసిన నా నిబంధనను కట్టడలను నీవు ఆచరింపక పోవుట నేను కనుగొనుచున్నాను గనుక యీ రాజ్యము నీకుండ కుండ నిశ్చయముగా తీసివేసి నీ దాసునికిచ్చెదను.

11. And the Lord said to Solomon, Because it has been thus with you, and you has not kept My commandments and My ordinances which I commanded you, I will surely tear your kingdom out of your hand, and give it to your servant.

12. అయి నను నీ తండ్రియైన దావీదు నిమిత్తము నీ దినములయందునేను ఆలాగున చేయక నీ కుమారుని చేతిలోనుండి దాని తీసివేసెదను.

12. Only in your days I will not do it for the sake of David your father; [but] I will take it out of the hand of your son.

13. రాజ్యమంతయు తీసివేయను; నా దాసుడైన దావీదు నిమిత్తమును నేను కోరుకొనిన యెరూషలేము నిమిత్తమును ఒక గోత్రము నీ కుమారునికిచ్చెదను.

13. Only I will not take away the whole kingdom; I will give one tribe to your son for David My servant's sake, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen.

14. యెహోవా ఎదోమీయుడైన హదదు అను ఒకని సొలొమోనునకు విరోధిగా రేపెను; అతడు ఎదోము దేశపు రాజవంశస్థుడు.

14. And the Lord raised up and enemy to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite, and Esrom son of Eliadae who [dwelt] in Ramah, [and] Hadadezer, king of Zobah his master (and men gathered to him, and he was head of the conspiracy, and he seized on Damasec), and they were adversaries to Israel all the days of Solomon: and Hadad the Edomite [was] of the royal seed in Edom.

15. దావీదు ఎదోము దేశముమీద యుద్ధము చేయుచుండగా, సైన్యాధిపతియైన యోవాబు చంపబడిన వారిని పాతిపెట్టుటకు వెళ్లి యున్నప్పుడు ఎదోము దేశమందున్న మగవారినందరిని హతము చేసెను.

15. And it happened, that while David was utterly destroying Edom, while Joab captain of the army was going to bury the dead, when they slew every male in Edom;

16. ఎదోములో నున్న మగవారినందరిని హతము చేయువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరితో కూడ యోవాబు ఆరు నెలలు అచ్చట నిలిచెను.

16. (for Joab and all Israel abode there six months in Edom, until he utterly destroyed every male in Edom)

17. అంతట హదదును అతనితోకూడ అతని తండ్రి సేవకులలో కొందరు ఎదోమీయులును ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనికి పారిపోయిరి; హదదు అప్పుడు చిన్న వాడై యుండెను.

17. that Hadad ran away, he and all the Edomites of the servants of his father with him; and they went into Egypt; and Hadad [was then] a little child.

18. వారు మిద్యాను దేశములోనుండి బయలుదేరి పారాను దేశమునకు వచ్చి, పారాను దేశమునుండి కొందరిని తోడుకొని ఐగుప్తులోనికి ఐగుప్తురాజగు ఫరోనొద్దకు రాగా, ఈ రాజు అతనికి ఇల్లును భూమియు ఇచ్చి ఆహారము నిర్ణయించెను.

18. And there rose up men out of the city of Midian, and they come to Paran, and they took men with them, and came to Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Hadad went in to Pharaoh, and he gave him a house, and appointed him provisions.

19. హదదు ఫరో దృష్టికి బహు దయపొందగా తాను పెండ్లిచేసికొనిన రాణియైన తహ్పెనేసు సహోదరిని అతనికి ఇచ్చి పెండ్లిచేసెను.

19. And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, and he gave him his wife's sister in marriage, the elder sister of Tahpenes.

20. ఈ తహ్పెనేసుయొక్క సహోదరి అతనికి గెనుబతు అను కుమారుని కనెను; ఫరోయింట తహ్పెనేసు వీనికి పాలు విడిపించెను గనుక గెనుబతు ఫరో కుటుంబికులలో నివసించి ఫరో కుమారులలో ఒకడుగా ఎంచబడెను.

20. And the sister of Tahpenes bore to him, [even] to Hadad, Genubath her son; and Tahpenes brought him up in the midst of the sons of Pharaoh, and Genubath was in the midst of the sons of Pharaoh.

21. అంతట దావీదు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రపొందిన సంగతిని, సైన్యాధిపతియైన యోవాబు మరణమైన సంగతిని ఐగుప్తు దేశమందు హదదు వినినేను నా స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్లుటకు సెలవిమ్మని ఫరోతో మనవిచేయగా

21. And Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the army was dead; and Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me go, and I will return to my country.

22. ఫరోనీవు నీ స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్ల కోరుటకు నాయొద్ద నీకేమి తక్కువైనది అని యడిగెను. అందుకు హదదుతక్కువైన దేదియు లేదు గాని యేలాగుననైనను నన్ను వెళ్లనిమ్మనెను.

22. And Pharaoh said to Hadad, What do you lack here with me, that behold, you seek to depart to your country? And Hadad said to him, By all means let me go.

23. మరియు దేవుడు అతనిమీదికి ఎల్యాదా కుమారుడైన రెజోను అను ఇంకొక విరోధిని రేపెను. వీడు సోబా రాజైన హదదెజరు అను తన యజమానుని యొద్దనుండి పారిపోయినవాడు.

24. దావీదు సోబావారిని హతము చేసి నప్పుడు ఇతడు కొందరిని సమకూర్చి, కూడిన యొక సైన్య మునకు అధిపతియై దమస్కునకు వచ్చి అచ్చట నివాసము చేసి దమస్కులో రాజాయెను.

25. హదదు చేసిన యీ కీడు గాక సొలొమోను బ్రదికిన దినములన్నియు ఇతడు అరాముదేశమందు ఏలినవాడై ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు విరో ధియైయుండి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులయందు అసహ్యతగలవాడై యుండెను.

25. So Hadad returned to his country. This [is] the mischief which Hadad did, and he was a bitter enemy of Israel, and he reigned in the land of Edom.

26. మరియు సొలొమోను సేవకుడైన యరొబాము సహా రాజుమీదికి లేచెను. ఇతడు జెరేదా సంబంధమైన ఎఫ్రాయీమీయుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడు, ఇతని తల్లిపేరు జెరూహా, ఆమె విధవరాలు.

26. And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the Ephrathite of Zereda, the son of a widow, [was] servant of Solomon.

27. ఇతడు రాజుమీదికి లేచుటకు హేతువేమనగా, సొలొమోను మిల్లో కట్టించి తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు పురమునకు కలిగిన బీటలు బాగు చేయుచుండెను.

27. And this was the occasion of his lifting up [his] hands against King Solomon. Now King Solomon built the citadel, and he completed the fortification of the City of David his father.

28. అయితే యరొబాము అను ఇతడు మహా బలాఢ్యుడైయుండగా ¸యౌవనుడగు ఇతడు పనియందు శ్రద్ధగలవాడని సొలొమోను తెలిసికొని, యోసేపు సంతతివారు చేయవలసిన భారమైన పనిమీద అతనిని అధికారిగా నిర్ణయించెను.

28. And the man Jeroboam was very strong; and Solomon saw the young man, that he was active, and he set him over the levies of the house of Joseph.

29. అంతట యరొబాము యెరూషలేములోనుండి బయలు వెడలిపోగా షిలోనీయు డును ప్రవక్తయునగు అహీయా అతనిని మార్గమందు కను గొనెను; అహీయా క్రొత్తవస్త్రము ధరించుకొని యుండెను, వారిద్దరు తప్ప పొలములో మరి యెవడును లేకపోయెను.

29. And it came to pass at that time, that Jeroboam went forth from Jerusalem, and Ahijah the Shilonite, the prophet, found him in the road, and caused him to turn aside out of the way. And Ahijah was clothed with a new garment, and those two [were] alone in the field.

30. అంతట అహీయా తాను ధరించుకొని యున్న క్రొత్త వస్త్రమును పట్టుకొని పండ్రెండు తునకలుగా చింపి యరొబాముతో ఇట్లనెనుఈ పది తునకలను నీవు తీసికొనుము;

30. And Ahijah laid hold of his new garment that was upon him, and tore it [into] twelve pieces.

31. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగాజనులు నన్ను విడిచి పెట్టి అష్తారోతు అను సీదోనీయుల దేవతకును కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల దేవతకును మిల్కోము అను అమ్మో నీయుల దేవతకును మ్రొక్కి,

31. And he said to Jeroboam, Take to yourself ten pieces, for thus says the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give you ten tribes.

32. సొలొమోను తండ్రియైన దావీదు చేసినట్లు నా దృష్టికి యోగ్యమైన దాని చేయకయు, నా కట్టడలను నా విధులను అనుసరింపకయు, నేను ఏర్పరచిన మార్గములలో నడవకయు నున్నారు గనుక సొలొమోను చేతిలోనుండి రాజ్యమును కొట్టివేసి పది గోత్రములను నీకిచ్చెదను.

32. Yet he shall have two tribes, for the sake of My servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.

33. అయితే నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు నిమిత్తమును, నేను యెరూషలేము పట్టణమును కోరుకొని నందునను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్ర ములలోనుండి వానికి ఒక గోత్రము ఉండనిత్తును.

33. Because he forsook Me, and sacrificed to Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and to Chemosh, and to the idols of Moab, and to their king the abomination of the children of Ammon, and he walked not in My ways, to do that which was right before Me, as David his father [did].

34. రాజ్యము వానిచేతిలోనుండి బొత్తిగా తీసివేయక నేను కోరుకొనిన నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు నా ఆజ్ఞలను అనుసరించి నా కట్టడలను ఆచ రించెను గనుక దావీదును జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని అతని దినము లన్నియు అతనిని అధికారిగా ఉండనిత్తును.

34. However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, (for I will certainly resist him all the days of his life,) for the sake of My servant David, whom I have chosen.

35. అయితే అతని కుమారుని చేతిలోనుండి రాజ్యమును తీసివేసి అందులో నీకు పది గోత్రముల నిచ్చెదను;

35. But I will take the kingdom out of the hand of his son, and give you ten tribes.

36. నా నామమును అక్కడ ఉంచుటకు నేను కోరుకొనిన పట్టణమైన యెరూషలేములో నా యెదుట ఒక దీపము నా సేవకుడైన దావీదునకు ఎల్లప్పుడు నుండునట్లు అతని కుమారునికి ఒక గోత్రము ఇచ్చెదను.

36. But to his son I will give the two [remaining] tribes, that My servant David may have an establishment continually before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there.

37. నేను నిన్ను అంగీకరించి నందున నీ కోరిక యంతటి చొప్పున నీవు ఏలుబడి చేయుచు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీద రాజవై యుందువు.

37. And I will take you, and you shall reign as your soul desires, and you shall be king over Israel.

38. నేను నీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించినదంతయు నీవు విని, నా మార్గముల ననుసరించి నడచుచు, నా దృష్టికి అనుకూలమైనదానిని జరింగిచుచు నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు చేసినట్లు నా కట్టడలను నా ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొనినయెడల, నేను నీకు తోడుగా ఉండి దావీదు కుటుంబమును శాశ్వతముగా నేను స్థిరపరచి నట్లు నిన్నును స్థిరపరచి ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని నీకు అప్ప గించెదను.

38. And it shall come to pass, if you will keep all the commandments that I shall give you, and will walk in My ways, and do that which is right before Me, to keep My ordinances and My commandments, as David My servant did, that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built to David.

39. వారు చేసిన క్రియలనుబట్టి నేను దావీదుసంతతివారిని బాధ పరచుదును గాని నిత్యము బాధింపను.

40. జరిగినదానిని విని సొలొమోను యరొబామును చంపచూడగా యరొబాము లేచి ఐగుప్తుదేశమునకు పారిపోయి ఐగుప్తు రాజైన షీషకునొద్ద చేరి సొలొమోను మరణమగు వరకు ఐగుప్తులోనే యుండెను.

40. And Solomon sought to slay Jeroboam; but he arose and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and he was in Egypt until Solomon died.

41. సొలొమోను చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు అతడు చేసినదంతటిని గూర్చియు, అతని జ్ఞానమును గూర్చియు, సొలొమోను కార్యములను గూర్చిన గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

41. And the rest of the history of Solomon, and all that he did, and all his wisdom, behold, are not these things written in the book of the life of Solomon?

42. సొలొమోను యెరూష లేమునందు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరిని ఏలిన కాలము నలువది సంవత్సరములు.

42. And the days [during] which Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel [were] forty years.

43. అంతట సొలొమోను తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి, తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు పురమందు సమాధిచేయబడెను; తరువాత అతని కుమారుడైన రెహబాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

43. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the City of David his father. And it came to pass when Jeroboam son of Nebat heard [of it], even while he was yet in Egypt as he fled from the face of Solomon and dwelt in Egypt, he straightway came into his own city, into the land of Sarira in the mount of Ephraim. And King Solomon slept with his fathers, and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.
