1. ఆ కాలమున యరొబాము కుమారుడైన అబీయా కాయిలాపడగా

1. At that time Abijah, the son of Jeroboam, fell sick.

2. యరొబాము తన భార్యతో ఇట్లనెనునీవు లేచి యరొబాము భార్యౌవని తెలియబడకుండ మారువేషము వేసికొని షిలోహునకు పొమ్ము; ఈ జనుల మీద నేను రాజునగుదునని నాకు సమాచారము తెలియ జెప్పిన ప్రవక్తయగు అహీయా అక్కడ ఉన్నాడు.

2. And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou not be known to be the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh, for Ahijah the prophet [is] there, who told me that [I should be] king over this people.

3. కాబట్టి నీవు పది రొట్టెలును అప్పములును ఒక బుడ్డితేనెయు చేత పట్టుకొని అతని దర్శించుము. బిడ్డయేమగునో అతడు నీకు తెలియజేయునని చెప్పగా

3. And take with thee ten loaves and cracknels and a cruse of honey and go to him, that he shall tell thee what shall become of this child.

4. యరొబాము భార్య ఆ ప్రకారము లేచి షిలోహునకు పోయి అహీయా యింటికి వచ్చెను. అహీయా వృద్ధాప్యముచేత కండ్లు కానరాని వాడై యుండెను.

4. And Jeroboam's wife did so and arose and went to Shiloh and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were set by reason of his age.

5. అంతట యెహోవా అహీయాతో సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగాయరొబాము కుమారుడు కాయిలాగా ఉన్నాడు గనుక అతనిగూర్చి నీచేత విచా రించుటకై యరొబాము భార్య వచ్చుచున్నది ఆమె మారువేషము వేసికొని మరియొకతెయైనట్టుగా వచ్చుచున్నది గనుక నేను నీకు సెలవిచ్చునట్టు నీవు ఆమెతో చెప్పవలెను.

5. But the LORD had said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam shall come to consult thee regarding her son, who [is] sick; thus and thus shalt thou say unto her, for it shall be, when she comes, that she shall come in disguise.

6. అంతలో అహీయా ద్వారము లోపలికి వచ్చు నామె కాలిచప్పుడు విని ఆమెతో ఇట్లనెనుయరొబాము భార్యా, లోపలికి రమ్ము; నీవు వేషము వేసి కొని వచ్చుటయేల? కఠినమైన మాటలు నీకు చెప్పవలెనని నాకు ఆజ్ఞయాయెను.

6. And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, wife of Jeroboam; why art thou in disguise? For I [am] sent to thee [with] heavy [tidings].

7. నీవు వెళ్లి యరొబాముతో చెప్ప వలసినదేమనగాఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఈ ప్రకారము సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడునేను నిన్ను జను లలోనుండి తీసి హెచ్చింపజేసి, ఇశ్రాయేలువారను నా జనులమీద నిన్ను అధికారిగా నియమించి

7. Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus hath the LORD God of Israel said, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people and made thee prince over my people Israel,

8. దావీదు సంతతి వారియొద్దనుండి రాజ్యమును తీసి నీకిచ్చి యుండినను, నా ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొని మనఃపూర్తిగా నన్ను అనుసరించి నా దృష్టికి ఏది అనుకూలమో దాని మాత్రమే చేసిన నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు చేసినట్టు నీవు చేయక

8. and rent the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it thee, and [yet] thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments and who followed me with all his heart, to doing only that [which was] right in my eyes,

9. నీ కంటె ముందుగా ఉండిన వారందరికంటెను అధికముగా కీడుచేసి యున్నావు; నన్ను బొత్తిగా విసర్జించి యితర దేవతలను పోత విగ్రహములను పెట్టుకొని నాకు కోపము పుట్టించి యున్నావు.

9. but hast done evil above all that were before thee, for thou hast gone and made thee other gods and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back;

10. కాబట్టి యరొబాము సంతతి వారిమీదికి నేను కీడు రప్పించుచు, ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిలో అల్పులు గాని ఘనులు గాని లేకుండ మగవారినందరిని యరొబాము వంశమునుండి నిర్మూలము చేసి, పెంటఅంతయు పోవునట్లుగా ఒకడు అవతలకు దానిని ఊడ్చి వేసినట్లు యరొబాము సంతతిలో శేషించినవారిని నేను ఊడ్చివేయుదును.

10. therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off from Jeroboam [everyone] that pisses against the wall, the one that is shut up along with the one that is left in Israel, and will burn away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man burns away dung until it is all gone.

11. పట్టణమందు యరొబాము సంబంధులలో మరణమగువారిని కుక్కలు తినును; బయట భూమిలో మరణమగువారిని ఆకాశపక్షులు తినును; యెహోవా మాటయిచ్చి యున్నాడు.

11. The one that dies of [those of] Jeroboam in the city, the dogs shall eat, and the one that dies in the field, the fowls of the air shall eat; for the LORD has spoken [it].

12. కాబట్టి నీవు లేచి నీ యింటికి పొమ్ము, నీ పాదములు పట్టణములో ప్రవేశించునప్పుడే నీ బిడ్డ చని పోవును;

12. Arise thou, therefore, go to thy own house, [and] when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.

13. అతని నిమిత్తము ఇశ్రాయేలువారందరు అంగలార్చుచు, సమాధిలో అతనిని పెట్టుదురు; ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా యరొబాము సంబంధులలో ఇతనియందు మాత్రమే అనుకూలమైన దాని కనుగొనెను గనుక యరొబాము సంతతివారిలో ఇతడు మాత్రమే సమాధికి వచ్చును.

13. And all Israel shall mourn for him and bury him, for he only of those of Jeroboam shall enter into [the] grave because in him there is found [some] good thing of the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

14. ఇదియుగాక యెహోవా తన నిమిత్తము ఒకని ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీద రాజుగా నియమింప బోవు చున్నాడు; ఆ దినముననే అతడు యరొబాము సంతతి వారిని నిర్మూలము చేయును; కొద్దికాలములోనే ఆయన అతని నియమింపబోవును.

14. And the LORD shall raise up a king over Israel who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam in this day, but what [if] even now?

15. ఇశ్రాయేలువారు దేవతాస్తంభ ములను నిలిపి యెహోవాకు కోపము పుట్టించి యున్నారు గనుక నీటియందు రెల్లు అల్లలాడునట్లు యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిని మొత్తి, ఒకడు వేరును పెల్లగించినట్లు వారి పితరులకు తాను ఇచ్చిన యీ మంచి దేశములోనుండి వారిని పెల్లగించి వారిని యూఫ్రటీసునది అవతలకు చెదర గొట్టును.

15. For the LORD shall smite Israel as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he had given to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.

16. మరియు తానే పాపముచేసి ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకై కారకుడైన యరొబాము పాపములనుబట్టి ఆయన ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని అప్పగింప బోవుచున్నాడు.

16. And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned and who has made Israel sin.

17. అప్పుడు యరొ బాము భార్య లేచి వెళ్లిపోయి తిర్సా పట్టణమునకు వచ్చెను; ఆమె లోగిటి ద్వారపు గడపయొద్దకు రాగానే ఆ చిన్నవాడు చని పోయెను.

17. Then Jeroboam's wife arose and departed and came to Tirzah; [and] as she entered by the threshold of the house, the child died.

18. జనులు అతనిని సమా ధిలోపెట్టి, యెహోవా తన సేవకుడైన ప్రవక్తయగు అహీయాద్వారా సెలవిచ్చిన ప్రకారముగ ఇశ్రాయేలువారందరును అతనికొరకు అంగ లార్చిరి.

18. And they buried him, and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD, which he had spoken by the hand of his servant Ahijah, the prophet.

19. యరొబాము చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతడు జరిగించిన యుద్ధములనుగూర్చియు, ప్రభుత్వమునుగూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి రాజులవృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

19. And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they [are] written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

20. యరొబాము ఏలిన దినములు ఇరువది రెండు సంవత్సరములు; అతడు తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించగా అతనికి మారుగా అతని కుమారుడైన నాదాబు రాజాయెను.

20. And the days which Jeroboam reigned [were] twenty-two years, and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab, his son, reigned in his stead.

21. యూదాదేశమందు సొలొమోను కుమారుడైన రెహ బాము ఏలుచుండెను. రెహబాము నలువదియొక సంవత్సర ములవాడైనప్పుడు ఏలనారంభించెను. తన నామము నుంచుటకై ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిలోనుండి యెహోవా కోరుకొనిన యెరూషలేమను పట్టణమందు అతడు పదునేడు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి అమ్మోనీయురాలు, ఆమె పేరు నయమా.

21. And Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, reigned in Judah. Rehoboam [was] forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD chose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name [was] Naamah, an Ammonitess.

22. యూదావారు యెహోవా దృష్టికి కీడుచేసి తమ పితరులు చేసినదానంతటిని మించునట్లుగా పాపము చేయుచు ఆయనకు రోషము పుట్టించిరి.

22. And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to anger more than all that their fathers had done in their sins which they committed.

23. ఎట్లనగా వారును ఎత్తయిన ప్రతి పర్వతము మీదను పచ్చని ప్రతి వృక్షముక్రిందను బలిపీఠములను కట్టి, విగ్రహములను నిలిపి, దేవతాస్తంభములను ఉంచిరి.

23. For they also built themselves high places and statues, and groves on every high hill and under every green tree.

24. మరియు పురుషగాములు సహా దేశమందుండిరి. ఇశ్రా యేలీయులయెదుట నిలువకుండ యెహోవా వెళ్లగొట్టిన జనులు చేయు హేయక్రియల ప్రకారముగా యూదా వారును చేయుచు వచ్చిరి.

24. And there were also male [cult] prostitutes in the land, [and] they did according to all the abominations of the Gentiles which the LORD had cast out before the sons of Israel.

25. రాజైన రెహబాముయొక్క అయిదవ సంవత్సరమందు ఐగుప్తురాజైన షీషకు యెరూష లేము మీదికి వచ్చి

25. And it came to pass in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, [that] Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem.

26. యెహోవా మందిరపు ఖజనాలోని పదార్థములను, రాజనగరుయొక్క ఖజనాలోని పదార్థములను, ఎత్తికొని పోయెను, అతడు సమస్తమును ఎత్తికొని పోయెను; సొలొమోను చేయించిన బంగారపు డాళ్లను అతడు ఎత్తికొని పోయెను.

26. And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took it all away, and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

27. రాజైన రెహబాము వీటికి మారుగా ఇత్తడి డాళ్లను చేయించి, రాజనగరు ద్వార పాలకులైన తన దేహసంరక్షకుల అధిపతుల వశము చేసెను.

27. And King Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields and committed [them] unto the hands of the chief of the guard, who kept the door of the king's house.

28. రాజు యెహోవా మందిరమునకు వెళ్లునప్పుడెల్ల రాజదేహ సంరక్షకులు వాటిని మోసికొనిపోయి అతడు తిరిగి రాగా వాటిని తమ గదిలో ఉంచిరి.

28. And when the king went into the house of the LORD, the guard bore them and brought them back [afterward] into the guard chamber.

29. రెహబాము చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన వాటన్నిటిని గూర్చియు యూదారాజులయొక్క వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

29. Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam and all that he did, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

30. వారు బ్రదికినంత కాలము రెహబామునకును యరొబామునకును యుద్ధము జరుగుచుండెను.

30. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all [their] days.

31. రెహబాము తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి దావీదు పురమందున్న తన పితరుల సమాధిలో పాతిపెట్టబడెను; అతని తల్లి నయమాయను ఒక అమ్మో నీయురాలు; అతని కుమారుడైన అబీయాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

31. And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name [was] Naamah, an Ammonitess. And Abijam, his son, reigned in his stead.:
