1. సిరియనులును ఇశ్రాయేలువారును మూడు సంవత్సర ములు ఒకరితో ఒకరు యుద్ధము జరిగింపక మానిరి.

1. And they cotinued three yeres without warre betweene Syria & Israel.

2. మూడవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతు బయలుదేరి ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునొద్దకు రాగా

2. And in the third yere dyd Iehosaphat the king of Iuda come downe to the king of Israel.

3. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు తన సేవకులను పిలిపించిరామోత్గిలాదు మనదని మీరెరుగుదురు; అయితే మనము సిరియా రాజు చేతిలోనుండి దాని తీసికొనక ఊరకున్నామని చెప్పి

3. (And the king of Israel sayde vnto his seruauntes: Know ye not that Ramoth [in] Gilead is ours, and we sit still, and take it not out of the hande of the king of Syria?)

4. యుద్ధము చేయుటకు నాతోకూడ నీవు రామోత్గిలాదునకు వచ్చెదవా అని యెహోషాపాతును అడిగెను. అందుకు యెహోషాపాతునేను నీవాడనే; నా జనులు నీ జనులే నా గుఱ్ఱములును నీ గుఱ్ఱములే అని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో చెప్పెను.

4. And he sayde vnto Iehosaphat: Wilt thou come with me to battayle against Ramoth [in] Gilead? And Iehosaphat sayde vnto the king of Israel: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.

5. పిమ్మట యెహోషాపాతునేడు యెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుదము రండని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో అనగా

5. And Iehosaphat sayde vnto the king of Israel: Aske counsel I pray thee at the worde of the Lorde to day.

6. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు దాదాపు నాలుగు వందలమంది ప్రవక్తలను పిలిపించియుద్ధము చేయుటకు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోదునా పోకుందునా అని వారి నడిగెను. అందుకుయెహోవా దానిని రాజైన నీ చేతికి అప్పగించును గనుక

6. And then the king of Israel gathered the prophetes together, vpon a foure hundred men, & sayde vnto them: Shall I go against Ramoth [in] Gilead to battayle, or shall I let it alone? And they sayde, Go vp: for the Lorde shall deliuer it into the handes of the king.

7. పొండని వారు చెప్పిరి గాని యెహోషాపాతువిచారణ చేయుటకై వీరు తప్పయెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇక్కడ లేడా అని అడిగెను.

7. And Iehosaphat sayd: Is there here neuer a prophete of the Lord more, that we might inquire of him?

8. అందుకు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకాయా అను ఒకడున్నాడు; అతనిద్వారా మనము యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేయవచ్చును గాని, అతడు నన్నుగూర్చి మేలు ప్రకటింపక కీడే ప్రకటించును గనుక అతనియందు నాకు ద్వేషము కలదని యెహోషాపాతుతో అనగా యెహోషాపాతురాజైన మీరు ఆలా గనవద్దనెను.

8. And the king of Israel sayde vnto Iehosaphat: There is yet one man (Michea the sonne of Iimla) by whom we may aske counsell of the Lorde: But I hate him, for he doth not prophecie good vnto me, but euyll. And Iehosaphat sayde: Let not the king say so.

9. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు తన పరివారములో ఒకనిని పిలిచిఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకాయాను శీఘ్రముగా ఇక్కడికి రప్పించుమని సెలవిచ్చెను.

9. Then the king of Israel called a chamberlayne, & sayde: Fet Michea the sonne of Iimla hyther at once.

10. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషాపాతును రాజవస్త్రములు ధరించుకొని, షోమ్రోను గవిని దగ్గరనున్న విశాల స్థలమందు గద్దెలమీద ఆసీనులై యుండి, ప్రవక్తలందరును వారి సమక్షమందు ప్రకటన చేయుచుండగా

10. And the king of Israel, and Iehosaphat the king of Iuda, sate eyther in his seate, and their apparell on them, in a voyde place besyde the entring in of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophetes prophecied before them.

11. కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా యినుప కొమ్ములు చేయించుకొని వచ్చివీటిచేత నీవు సిరియనులను పొడిచి నాశనము చేతువని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చు చున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

11. And Zedekia the sonne of Chanaana made hornes of iron, and sayde, thus sayth the Lord: With these [hornes] shalt thou pushe the Syrians, vntill thou haue made an ende of them.

12. ప్రవక్తలందరును ఆ చొప్పుననే ప్రకటన చేయుచుయెహోవా రామోత్గిలాదును రాజవైన నీ చేతికి అప్పగించును గనుక నీవు దానిమీదికి పోయి జయమొందుదువు అని చెప్పిరి.

12. And all the prophetes prophecied euen so, saying: Go vp to Ramoth [in] Gilead, and prosper: for the Lorde shall deliuer it into the kinges hande.

13. మీకాయాను పిలువబోయిన దూత ప్రవక్తలు ఏకముగా రాజుతో మంచి మాటలు పలుకుచున్నారు గనుక నీ మాట వారి మాటకు అనుకూలపరచుమని అతనితో అనగా

13. And the messenger that was gone to cal Michea, spake vnto him, saying: Beholde, the wordes of ye prophetes speake good vnto the king with one mouth: Let thy worde therefore I pray thee, be lyke the worde of euery one of them, to speake that whiche is good.

14. మీకాయాయెహోవా నాకు సెల విచ్చునదేదో ఆయన జీవముతోడు నేను దానినే పలు కుదుననెను.

14. And Michea sayde: As the Lorde lyueth, whatsoeuer the Lord sayth vnto me, that will I speake.

15. అతడు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చినప్పుడు రాజుమీకాయా, నీవేమందువు? యుద్ధము చేయుటకు మేము రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికి పోదుమా పోకుందుమా అని యడుగగా అతడుయెహోవా దానిని రాజవైన నీ చేతికి నప్ప గించును గనుక నీవు దానిమీదికిపోయి జయమొందుదువని రాజుతో అనెను.

15. And so he came to the king, & the king sayd vnto him: Michea, ought we to go against Ramoth [in] Gilead to battayle, or to be stil? He aunswered to him: Go, and prosper, the Lorde shall deliuer it into the hande of the king.

16. అందుకు రాజునీచేత ప్రమాణము చేయించి యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి నిజమైన మాటలే నీవు నాతో పలుకవలసినదని నేనెన్ని మారులు నీతో చెప్పితిని అని రాజు సెలవియ్యగా

16. And the king sayde vnto him: So and so many times do I charge thee that thou tell me nothing but that whiche is true, in the name of the Lorde.

17. అతడుఇశ్రాయేలీయు లందరును కాపరిలేని గొఱ్ఱెలవలెనే కొండలమీద చెదరి యుండుట నేను చూచితిని వారికి యజమానుడు లేడు; ఎవరి యింటికి వారు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లవలసినదని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చెను అని చెప్పెను.

17. He sayd: I saw all them of Israel scattered vpon the hilles, as sheepe that haue not a sheephearde. And the Lorde sayde: These haue no maister, let euery man returne to his house in peace.

18. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రా యేలురాజు యెహోషాపాతును చూచిఇతడు నన్ను గూర్చి మేలుపలుకక కీడే ప్రవచించునని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా అనగా

18. (And the king of Israel sayde vnto Iehosaphat: Dyd I not tell thee, that he woulde prophecie no good vnto me, but euyll?)

19. మీకాయా యిట్లనెనుయెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాట ఆలకించుము; యెహోవా సింహాసనాసీనుడై యుండగా పరలోకసైన్యమంతయు ఆయన కుడి పార్శ్వమునను ఎడమపార్శ్వమునను నిలిచి యుండుట నేను చూచితిని

19. And he sayd againe: Heare thou therefore the word of the Lorde. I sawe the Lord sit on his seate, and all the hoast of heauen stoode about him on his right hande and on his left.

20. అహాబు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి అక్కడ ఓడిపోవునట్లుగా ఎవడు అతనిని ప్రేరేపించునని యెహోవా సెలవియ్యగా, ఒకడు ఈ విధముగాను మరియొకడు ఆ విధముగాను యోచన చెప్పుచుండిరి.

20. And the Lorde sayde: Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go and fall at Ramoth [in] Gilead? And one sayde on this maner, and another on that.

21. అంతలో ఒక ఆత్మ యెదుటికి వచ్చి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని నిలువబడినేను అతనిని ప్రేరేపించెదననగా యెహోవాఏ ప్రకారము నీవతని ప్రేరేపించుదువని అతని నడిగెను.

21. And there came foorth a certayne spirite, and stoode before the Lorde, and sayde: I will persuade him. And the Lorde sayde vnto him: Wherwith?

22. అందుకతడునేను బయలుదేరి అతని ప్రవక్తల నోట అబద్ధమాడు ఆత్మగా ఉందునని చెప్పగా ఆయననీవు అతని ప్రేరేపించి జయము నొందుదువు; పోయి ఆ ప్రకారము చేయుమని అతనికి సెలవిచ్చెను.

22. And he sayde: I will go out, and be a false spirite in the mouth of all his prophetes. He sayde, Thou shalt persuade him and preuayle: Go foorth then, & do euen so.

23. యెహోవా నిన్నుగూర్చి కీడు యోచించి నీ ప్రవక్తల నోట అబద్ధమాడు ఆత్మను ఉంచియున్నాడు.

23. Nowe therefore beholde the Lorde hath put a lying spirite in the mouth of all these thy prophetes, and the Lorde hath spoken euyll towarde thee.

24. మీకాయా యిట్లనగా, కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా అతని దగ్గరకు వచ్చినీతో మాటలాడుటకు యెహోవా ఆత్మ నాయొద్దనుండి ఏవైపుగా పోయెనని చెప్పి మీకాయాను చెంపమీద కొట్టెను.

24. But Zedekia the sonne of Chanaana went to & smote Michea on the cheke, and sayde: When went the spirite of the Lorde from me, to speake vnto thee?

25. అందుకు మీకాయా దాగుకొనుటకై నీవు ఆ యా గదులలోనికి చొరబడు నాడు అది నీకు తెలియ వచ్చునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

25. And Michea sayde: Behold, thou shalt see in that day when thou shalt go from chamber to chamber to hyde thee.

26. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుమీకాయాను పట్టుకొని తీసికొని పోయి పట్టణపు అధికారియైన ఆమోనునకును రాజకుమారుడైన యోవాషు నకును అప్పగించి

26. And the king of Israel sayde: Take Michea and cary him vnto Amon the gouerner of the citie, and vnto Ioas the kinges sonne,

27. బందీగృహములో ఉంచి, మేము క్షేమముగా తిరిగివచ్చువరకు అతనికి కష్టమైన అన్నము నీళ్లు ఈయుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

27. And say: Thus sayeth ye king: Put this felow in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction, and with water of trouble, vntill I returne in peace.

28. అప్పుడు మీకాయా ఈలాగు చెప్పెను సకలజనులారా, నా మాట ఆలకించు డని చెప్పెనురాజవైన నీవు ఏమాత్రమైనను క్షేమముగా తిరిగి వచ్చినయెడల యెహోవా నాచేత పలుకలేదు.

28. And Michea sayde: If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he sayde: Hearken ye people euery one of you.

29. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషా పాతును రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికి పోవుచుండగా

29. And so the king of Israel, and Iehosaphat the king of Iuda, went vp to Ramoth [in] Gilead.

30. ఇశ్రా యేలురాజునేను మారువేషము వేసికొని యుద్ధములో ప్రవేశించెదను, నీవైతే నీ వస్త్రములు ధరించుకొని ప్రవే శించుమని యెహోషాపాతుతో చెప్పి మారువేషము వేసికొని యుద్ధమందు ప్రవేశించెను.

30. And the king of Israel sayde vnto Iehosaphat: I wil chaunge my apparell, and will enter into the battel, but put thou on thyne apparell. And the king of Israel chaunged him selfe, and went to battell.

31. సరియారాజు తన రథ ములమీద అధికారులైన ముప్పది ఇద్దరు అధిపతులను పిలి పించి అల్పులతోనైనను ఘనులతోనైనను మీరు పోట్లాడవద్దు; ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతో మాత్రమే పోట్లాడుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియుండగా

31. But the king of Syria commaunded the thirtie and two captaynes that had rule ouer his charettes, saying: Fight neither with small nor great, saue onely against the king of Israel.

32. రథాధిపతులు యెహోషాపాతును చూచియితడే ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజనుకొని అతనితో పోట్లాడుటకు అతని మీదికి వచ్చిరి. యెహోషాపాతు కేకలువేయగా

32. And when the captaynes of the charets saw Iehosaphat, they sayd: Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned to fight against him: And Iehosaphat cryed.

33. రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు కానట్టు గురుతుపట్టి అతని తరుముట మానివేసిరి.

33. And so it came to passe, that when the captaynes of the charettes sawe that he was not the king of Israel, they turned backe from him.

34. పమ్మట ఒకడు తన విల్లు తీసి గురి చూడకయే విడువగా అది ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకు కవచపుకీలు మధ్యను తగిలెను గనుక అతడునాకు గాయమైనది, రథము త్రిప్పి సైన్యములో నుండి నన్ను అవతలకు తీసికొని పొమ్మని తన సారధితో చెప్పెను.

34. And a certayne man drewe a bowe ignorantly, & smote the king of Israel betweene the ribbes and his harnesse: Wherfore he sayd vnto the driuer of his charettes, Turne thy hand, and cary me out of the hoast, for I am hurt.

35. నాడు యుద్ధము బలముగా జరుగుచున్నప్పుడు రాజును సిరియనుల యెదుట అతని రథముమీద నిలువ బెట్టిరి; అస్తమయమందు అతడు మరణమాయెను; తగిలిన గాయములోనుండి అతని రక్తము కారి రథములో మడుగు గట్టెను.

35. (And the battel encreased that day: and the king stoode still in his charet against the Syrians) and died at euen: And the blood ran out of the wounde into the middes of the charet.

36. సూర్యాస్తమయ సమయమందు దండువారందరు తమ తమ పట్టణములకును దేశములకును వెళ్లి పోవచ్చు నని ప్రచురమాయెను.

36. And ther wet a proclamation throughout the hoast about the goyng downe of the sunne, saying: Euery man to his citie, and to his owne countrey.

37. ఈ ప్రకారము రాజు మరణమై షోమ్రోనునకు కొనిపోబడి షోమ్రోనులో పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

37. So the king died, and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the king in Samaria.

38. వేశ్యలు స్నానము చేయుచుండగా ఒకడు ఆ రథమును షోమ్రోను కొలనులో కడిగినప్పుడు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాటచొప్పున కుక్కలు వచ్చి అతని రక్తమును నాకెను.

38. And one washed the charet in the poole of Samaria, & the dogges licked vp his blood: and they washed his armour, according vnto the worde of the Lorde whiche he spake.

39. అహాబు చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దానంతటినిగూర్చియు, అతడు కట్టించిన దంతపు ఇంటినిగూర్చియు, అతడు కట్టించిన పట్టణములను గూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

39. The rest of the wordes that concerne Ahab and all that he did, and the iuorie house whiche he made, and all the cities that he buylded, are they not written in the booke of the cronicles of the kinges of Israel?

40. అహాబు తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించగా అతని కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

40. And so Ahab slept with his fathers, & Ahazia his sonne raigned in his steade.

41. ఆసా కుమారుడైన యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు ఏలుబడిలో నాలుగవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదాను ఏలనారంభించెను.

41. Iehosaphat the sonne of Asa began to raigne vpon Iuda in the fourth yere of Ahab king of Israel.

42. యెహోషాపాతు ఏల నారంభించినప్పుడు అతడు ముప్పది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేములో యిరువది యైదేండ్లు ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి పేరు అజూబా, ఆమె షిల్హీకుమార్తెయై యుండెను.

42. And Iehosaphat was thirtie and fiue yeres old when he began to raigne, and raigned twentie and fiue yeres in Hierusalem: His mothers name was Azuba the daughter of Silhi.

43. అతడు తన తండ్రియైన ఆసాయొక్క మార్గములన్నిటి ననుసరించి, యెహోవా దృష్టికి అనుకూలముగా ప్రవర్తించుచు వచ్చెను. అయితే ఉన్నత స్థలములను తీసివేయలేదు; ఉన్నత స్థలములలో జనులు ఇంకను బలులు అర్పిం చుచు ధూపము వేయుచు నుండిరి.

43. And he walked in all the wayes of Asa his father, and bowed not therefrom, but dyd that whiche was right in the eyes of the Lorde: Neuerthelesse the high places were not taken out of the way: for the people offred and burnt incense yet in the high places.

44. యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో సంధిచేసెను.

44. And Iehosaphat made peace with the king of Israel.

45. యెహోషాపాతు చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు కనుపరచిన బలమునుగూర్చియు, అతడు యుద్థముచేసిన విధమును గూర్చియు యూదారాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

45. The rest of the wordes that concerne Iehosaphat, & the might that he vsed, & howe he warred, are they not written in the booke of the cronicles of the kinges of Iuda?

46. తన తండ్రియైన ఆసాదినములలో శేషించియుండిన పురుషగాములను అతడు దేశములోనుండి వెళ్లగొట్టెను.

46. And the remnaunt of the stewes of the males which remayned in the dayes of his father Asa, he put cleane out of the lande.

47. ఆ కాలమందు ఎదోము దేశమునకు రాజు లేకపోయెను; ప్రధానియైన యొకడు రాజ్యపాలనము చేయుచుండెను.

47. There was then no king in Edom, the deputie was king.

48. యెహోషాపాతు బంగారము తెచ్చుటకై ఓఫీరుదేశమునకు పోవుటకు తర్షీషు ఓడలను కట్టింపగా ఆ ఓడలు బయలుదేరక ఎసోన్గెబెరునొద్ద బద్దలై పోయెను.

48. And Iehosaphat made shippes in the sea, to come through Tharsis to Ophir for golde, but they went not: for the shippes brake at Ezion Gaber.

49. అహాబు కుమారుడైన అహజ్యానా సేవకులను నీ సేవకులతో కూడ ఓడలమీద పోనిమ్మని యెహోషా పాతు నడుగగా యెహోషాపాతు దానికి ఒప్పలేదు.

49. Then sayd Ahazia the sonne of Ahab vnto Iehosaphat: Let my seruautes go with thy seruauntes in the shippes. But Iehosaphat woulde not.

50. పమ్మట యెహోషా పాతు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి, తన పితరుడైన దావీదుపురమందు తన పితరులతోకూడ పాతిపెట్ట బడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

50. And Iehosaphat dyd sleepe with his fathers, & was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father: And Iehoram his sonne raigned in his steade.

51. అహాబు కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతు ఏలుబడిలో పదునేడవ సంవత్సరమందు షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలనారంభించి రెండు సంవ త్సరములు ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలెను.

51. Ahazia the sonne of Ahab began to raigne ouer Israel in Samaria the seuenteenth yere of Iehosaphat king of Iuda, & raigned two yeres ouer Israel.

52. అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించి, తన తలిదండ్రు లిద్దరి ప్రవర్త నను, ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము ప్రవర్తనను అనుసరించి ప్రవర్తించుచు వచ్చెను.

52. But he did euyl in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, & in the way of his mother, & in the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nabat, whiche made Israel to synne.

53. అతడు బయలు దేవతను పూజిం చుచు, వానికి నమస్కారము చేయుచు, తన తండ్రి చేసిన క్రియలన్నిటి చొప్పున జరిగించుచు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు కోపము పుట్టించెను.

53. For he serued Baal, & worshipped him, and prouoked the Lorde God of Israel vnto wrath, according vnto all that his father had done.
