1. షోమ్రోనులో అహాబునకు డెబ్బదిమంది కుమారు లుండిరి. యెహూ వెంటనే తాకీదులు వ్రాయించి షోమ్రోనులోనుండు యెజ్రెయేలు అధిపతులకును పెద్దల కును అహాబు పిల్లలను పెంచినవారికిని పంపి ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చిన దేమనగామీ యజమానుని కుమారులు మీయొద్ద నున్నారు;

1. Ahab's royal family in the city of Samaria had a total of 70 sons. Jehu wrote some letters to the officials of the city. He also sent them to the elders there. And he sent them to those who took care of Ahab's children. He said,

2. మరియు మీకు రథములును గుఱ్ఱములును ప్రాకారముగల పట్టణమును ఆయుధ సామగ్రియును కలవు గదా

2. 'Your master's sons are with you. You also have chariots and horses and weapons. And you are living in a city that has high walls around it. As soon as you read this letter, here's what I want you to do.

3. కాబట్టి యీ తాకీదు మీకు ముట్టినవెంటనే మీ యజమానుని కుమారులలో ఉత్తముడును తగినవాడునైన యొకని కోరుకొని, తన తండ్రి సింహాసనముమీద అతనిని ఆసీనునిగా చేసి, మీ యజమానుని కుటుంబికుల పక్షమున యుద్ధమాడుడి.

3. Choose the best and most respected son of your master. Place him on his father Joram's throne. Then fight for your master's royal house.'

4. The leaders of Samaria were terrified. They said, 'King Joram and King Ahaziah couldn't stand up against Jehu. So how can we?'

5. The city governor and the person who was in charge of the palace sent a message to Jehu. The message was also from the elders and those who took care of Ahab's children. It said, 'We will serve you. We'll do anything you say. We won't appoint anyone to be king. Do what you think is best.'

6. Then Jehu wrote them a second letter. It said, 'You say you are on my side. You say you will obey me. If you really mean it, bring me the heads of your master's sons. Meet me in Jezreel by this time tomorrow.' There were 70 royal princes. They were with the most important men of the city. Those men were in charge of raising them.

7. కావున ఆ తాకీదు తమకు ముట్టినప్పుడు వారు డెబ్బదిమంది రాజకుమారులను పట్టుకొని చంపి, వారి తలలను గంపలలో పెట్టి, యెజ్రెయేలులోనున్న అతని యొద్దకు పంపిరి.

7. When Jehu's letter arrived, the men went and got the princes. They killed all 70 of them. They put their heads in baskets. Then they sent them to Jehu in Jezreel.

8. When the messenger arrived, he spoke to Jehu. He told him, 'The heads of the princes have been brought here.' Then Jehu ordered his men, 'Put them in two piles. Stack them up at the entrance of the city gate until morning.'

9. The next morning Jehu went out. He stood in front of all of the people. He said, 'You aren't guilty of doing anything wrong. I'm the one who made plans against my master Joram. I killed him. But who killed all of these?

10. I want you to know that the Lord has spoken against Ahab's royal house. Not a word of what he has said will fail. The Lord has done exactly what he promised through his servant Elijah.'

11. So Jehu killed everyone from Ahab's family who was in Jezreel. He also killed all of Ahab's chief men. And he killed Ahab's close friends and his priests. He didn't leave anyone in Ahab's family alive.

12. Then Jehu started out for Samaria. At Beth Eked of the Shepherds,

13. he saw some people. They were relatives of Ahaziah, the king of Judah. Jehu asked them, 'Who are you?' They said, 'We are Ahaziah's relatives. We've come down to visit the families of the king and of his mother.'

14. 'Take them alive!' Jehu ordered. So his men took them alive. Then they killed them by the well of Beth Eked. They killed a total of 42 men. Jehu didn't leave anyone alive.

15. After Jehu left there, he came upon Jehonadab. He was the son of Recab. Jehonadab was on his way to see Jehu. Jehu greeted him. He asked, 'Are you my friend? You know I'm your friend.' 'I am,' Jehonadab answered. 'If that's true,' said Jehu, 'hold out your hand.' So he did. Then Jehu helped him up into the chariot.

16. యెహోవానుగూర్చి నాకు కలిగిన ఆసక్తిని చూచుటకై నాతోకూడ రమ్మనగా యెహూ రథముమీద వారతని కూర్చుండబెట్టిరి.

16. Jehu said, 'Come along with me. See how committed I am to serve the Lord.' He had him ride along in his chariot.

17. అతడు షోమ్రోనునకు వచ్చి షోమ్రో నులో అహాబునకు శేషించియున్న వారినందరిని చంపి, ఏలీయాకు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాట నెరవేర్చి, అహా బును నిర్మూలము చేయువరకు హతముచేయుట మాన కుండెను.

17. Jehu came to Samaria. He killed everyone who was left there from Ahab's family. And so he wiped out Ahab's royal house. That's what the Lord had said would happen. He had spoken that message to Elijah.

18. తరువాత యెహూ జనులందరిని సమకూర్చి వారికీలాగు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను అహాబు బయలు దేవతకు కొద్ది గానే పూజచేసెను. యెహూ అను నేను అధికముగా పూజచేయబోవుచున్నాను,

18. Then Jehu brought all of the people together. He said to them, 'Ahab served the god Baal a little. I will serve him a lot.

19. కావున ఒకడైనను తప్పకుండ బయలు ప్రవక్తలనందిరిని వాని భక్తులనందరిని వారి యాజ కులనందరిని నాయొద్దకు పిలువనంపించుడి; నేను బయలు నకు గొప్ప బలి అర్పింప బోవుచున్నాను గనుక రానివా డెవడో వాని బ్రదుకనియ్యనని చెప్పెను. అయితే బయలునకు మ్రొక్కువారిని నాశనము చేయుటకై అతడు ఈ ప్రకారము కపటోపాయము చేసెను.

19. Send for all of Baal's prophets. Also send for all of his priests and the others who serve him. Make sure that not a single one is missing. I'm going to hold a great sacrifice to honor Baal. Anyone who doesn't come will be killed.' But Jehu was lying to them. He was planning to destroy those who served Baal.

20. మరియు యెహూబయలునకు పండుగ నియమింపబడినదని చాటించుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా వారాలాగు చాటించిరి.

20. Jehu said, 'Call everyone together to honor Baal.' So they did.

21. Then he sent a message all through Israel. All of those who served Baal came. Not a single one of them stayed away. They crowded into Baal's temple. It was full from one end to the other.

22. అప్పుడతడు వస్త్రశాలమీద ఉన్న అధికారిని పిలిచిబయలునకు మ్రొక్కువారి కందరికి వస్త్రములు బయటికి తెప్పించుమని చెప్పగా వాడు తెప్పించెను.

22. Jehu spoke to the one who took care of the sacred robes. He told him, 'Bring robes for everyone who serves Baal.' So he brought the robes out for them.

23. యెహూయును రేకాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోనాదాబును బయలు గుడిలో ప్రవేశింపగా యెహూ యెహోవా భక్తులలో ఒకనినైనను ఇచ్చట మీ యొద్దనుండనియ్యక బయలునకు మ్రొక్కువారుమాత్రమే యుండునట్లు జాగ్రత్తచేయుడని బయలునకు మ్రొక్కువారితో ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

23. Then Jehu went into Baal's temple. Jehonadab, the son of Recab, went with him. Jehu spoke to those who served Baal. He said, 'Look around. Make sure that no one who serves the Lord is here with you. Make sure only those who serve Baal are here.'

24. బలులను దహనబలులను అర్పించుటకై వారు లోపల ప్రవేశింపగా యెహూ యెనుబది మందిని బయట కావలి యుంచినేను మీ వశముచేసినవారిలో ఒకడైన తప్పించుకొని పోయినయెడల వాని ప్రాణమునకు బదులుగా వాని పోనిచ్చిన వాని ప్రాణముతీతునని వారితో చెప్పి యుండెను.

24. So they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Jehu had stationed 80 men outside. He warned them, 'I'm placing some men in your hands. Don't let a single one of them escape. If you do, you will pay for his life with yours.'

25. దహనబలుల నర్పించుట సమాప్తికాగా యెహూమీరు లోపల చొచ్చి యొకడైనను బయటికి రాకుండ వారిని చంపుడని తన కావలివారితోను అధిపతుల తోను చెప్పగా వారు అందరిని హతము చేసిరి. పిమ్మట కావలివారును అధిపతులును వారిని బయటవేసి, బయలు గుడియున్న పట్టణమునకు పోయి

25. Jehu finished sacrificing the burnt offering. As soon as he did, he gave an order to the guards and officers. He commanded them, 'Go inside and kill everyone. Don't let a single one of them escape.' So they cut them down with their swords. The guards and officers threw the bodies outside. Then they entered the most sacred area inside Baal's temple.

26. బయలు గుడిలోని నిలువు విగ్రహములను బయటికి తీసికొని వచ్చి వాటిని కాల్చివేసిరి.

26. They brought the sacred stone of Baal outside. They burned it up.

27. మరియు బయలు ప్రతిమను గుడిని క్రింద పడగొట్టి దానిని పెంటయిల్లుగా చేసిరి. నేటివరకు అది ఆలాగే యున్నది

27. So they destroyed Baal's sacred stone. They also tore down Baal's temple. People have used it as a public toilet to this very day.

28. ఈ ప్రకారము యెహూ బయలు దేవతను ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమధ్య నుండకుండ నాశనము చేసెను.

28. So Jehu destroyed the worship of the god Baal in Israel.

29. అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము కారకుడైనట్లు యెహూకూడ అందుకు కారకుడై, బేతేలు దాను అను స్థలములందున్న బంగారుదూడలను అనుసరించుట మాన లేదు.

29. But he didn't turn away from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit those same sins. Jehu worshiped the golden calves at Bethel and Dan.

30. కావున యెహోవా యెహూతో నీలాగు సెల విచ్చెనునీవు నా హృదయాలోచన యంతటిచొప్పున అహాబు కుటుంబికులకు చేసి నా దృష్టికి న్యాయమైనదాని జరిగించి బాగుగా నెరవేర్చితివి గనుక నీ కుమారులు నాల్గవ తరము వరకు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజ్య సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనులగుదురు.

30. The Lord said to Jehu, 'You have done well. You have accomplished what is right in my eyes. You have done to Ahab's royal house everything I wanted you to do. So your sons after you will sit on the throne of Israel. They will rule until the time of your children's grandchildren.'

31. అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడైన యరొబాముచేసిన పాపములను యెహూ యేమాత్రమును విసర్జించనివాడై ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రమును పూర్ణహృదయముతో అనుసరించుటకు శ్రద్ధాభక్తులు లేని వాడాయెను.

31. But Jehu wasn't careful to obey the law of the Lord. He didn't obey the God of Israel with all his heart. He didn't turn away from the sins of Jeroboam. Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit those same sins.

32. ఆ దినములలో యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని తగ్గించ నారంభించెను.

32. In those days the Lord began to make the kingdom of Israel smaller. Hazael gained control over many parts of Israel. He gained control over all of their territory

33. హజాయేలు ఇశ్రాయేలు సరిహద్దులలో నున్న యొర్దాను తూర్పుదిక్కున గాదీయులకును రూబె నియులకును చేరికైన గిలాదు దేశమంతటిలోను, అర్నోను నది దగ్గరనున్న అరోయేరు మొదలుకొని మనష్షీయుల దేశములోను, అనగా గిలాదులోను బాషానులోను వారిని ఓడించెను.

33. east of the Jordan River. It included the whole land of Gilead from Aroer by the Arnon River valley all the way to Bashan. That was the territory of Gad, Reuben and Manasseh.

34. యెహూచేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దానినంతటినిగూర్చియు, అతని పరాక్రమమునుగూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుల వృత్తాంత ముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

34. The other events of Jehu's rule are written down. Everything he did and accomplished is written down. All of those things are written in the official records of the kings of Israel.

35. అంతట యెహూ తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి షోమ్రోనులో సమాధిచేయబడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన యెహోయాహాజు అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

35. Jehu joined the members of his family who had already died. His body was buried in Samaria. His son Jehoahaz became the next king after him.

36. షోమ్రోనులో యెహూ ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలిన కాలము ఇరువది యెనిమిది యేండ్లు.

36. Jehu had ruled over Israel in Samaria for 28 years.
