1. యెహూ యేలుబడిలో ఏడవ సంవత్సరమందుయోవాషు ఏలనారంభించి యెరూషలేములో నలువది సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను. అతని తల్లి బెయేర్షెబా సంబంధు రాలైన జిబ్యా.

1. Y'ho'ash was seven years old when he began his reign.

2. యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా తనకు బుద్ధినేర్పువాడై యుండు దినములన్నిటిలో యోవాషు యెహోవా దృష్టికి అనుకూలముగానే ప్రవర్తించెను.

2. It was in the seventh year of Yehu that Y'ho'ash began to rule, and he ruled forty years in Yerushalayim. His mother's name was Tzivyah, from Be'er-Sheva.

3. అయితే ఉన్నత స్థలములు కొట్టివేయబడక నిలిచెను; జనులు ఇంకను ఉన్నత స్థలములందు బలులు అర్పించుచు ధూపము వేయుచు నుండిరి.

3. Y'ho'ash did what was right from ADONAI's perspective throughout the lifetime of Y'hoyada the [cohen], who instructed him.

4. యోవాషు యాజకులను పిలిపించియెహోవా మంది రములోనికి తేబడు ప్రతిష్ఠిత వస్తువుల విలువను అనగా జనసంఖ్య దాఖలాచేయబడిన జనులు తెచ్చిన ద్రవ్యమును వంతుచొప్పున ప్రతి మనిషికి నిర్ణయమైన ద్రవ్యమును, స్వేచ్ఛచేత నెవరైనను యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి తెచ్చిన ద్రవ్యమును,

4. Nevertheless the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and presented offerings on the high places.

5. యాజకులలో ఒక్కొక్కడు తనకు నెలవైన వారియొద్ద తీసికొని, మందిరము ఎచ్చటెచ్చట శిథిలమై యున్నదో అచ్చటనెల్ల దానిని బాగుచేయింపవలెనని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

5. Y'ho'ash said to the [cohanim], 'All the funds for sacred purposes which are brought to the house of ADONAI- the half-[shekel] tax, the taxes on persons in a man's household, and all the offerings anyone voluntarily brings to the house of ADONAI-

6. అయితే యోవాషు ఏలుబడిలో ఇరువది మూడవ సంవత్సరమువరకును యాజకులు మందిరము యొక్క శిథిలమైన స్థలములను బాగుచేయకయే యుండిరి గనుక

6. the [cohanim] are to receive from whoever personally makes contributions to them; and they are to use these funds to repair the damaged parts of the house, wherever damage is found.

7. యోవాషు యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదాను మిగి లిన యాజకులను పిలిపించిమందిరములో శిథిలమైన స్థలములను మీరెందుకు బాగుచేయక పోతిరి? ఇకను మీ మీ నెలవైన వారియొద్ద ద్రవ్యము తీసికొనక, మందిరములో శిథిలమైన స్థలములను బాగుచేయుటకై మీరు అంతకుముందు తీసికొనినదాని నప్పగించుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి యుండెను.

7. But twenty-three years into the reign of King Y'ho'ash, the [cohanim] had still not repaired the damaged places in the house.

8. కాబట్టి యాజకులుమందిరములో శిథిల మైన స్థలములను బాగుచేయుట మా వశము లేదు గనుక జనులయొద్ద ద్రవ్యము ఇక తీసికొనమని చెప్పిరి.

8. So King Y'ho'ash summoned Y'hoyada the [cohen] and the other [cohanim] and said to them, 'Why aren't you repairing the damaged places in the house? Therefore, you are no longer to take money from those who contribute it personally to you; you must hand it over to be used for repairing the damage in the house.'

9. అంతట యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా ఒక పెట్టెను తెచ్చి దాని మూతకు బెజ్జము చేసి, బలిపీఠము దగ్గరగా యెహోవా మందిరములో ప్రవేశించు వారి కుడిపార్శ్వమందు దాని నుంచగా ద్వారముకాయు యాజకులు యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి వచ్చిన ద్రవ్యమంతయు అందులో వేసిరి.

9. The [cohanim] agreed not to receive money from the people, and they would no longer be responsible for repairing the damage to the house.

10. పెట్టెలో ద్రవ్యము విస్తారముగా ఉన్నదని వారు తెలియ జేయగా రాజుయొక్క ప్రధాన మంత్రియును ప్రధాన యాజకుడును వచ్చి, యెహోవా మందిరమందు దొరికిన ద్రవ్యము లెక్కచూచి సంచులలో ఉంచిరి.

10. Then Y'hoyada the [cohen] took a chest, drilled a hole in its lid and set it by the altar, on the right, as one enters the house of ADONAI; and the [cohanim] in charge of the entry put in it all the money brought into the house of ADONAI.

11. తరువాత వారు ఆ ద్రవ్యమును తూచి యెహోవా మందిరపు కాపరులకు, అనగా పనిచేయించు వారి కప్పగించిరి; వీరు యెహోవా మందిరమందు పనిచేసిన కంసాలులకును శిల్ప కారులకును కాసెపనివారికిని రాతిపనివారికిని

11. When they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the king's secretary and the [cohen hagadol] would come up, count the money found in the house of ADONAI and put it in bags.

12. యెహోవా మందిరమందు శిథిలమైన స్థలములను బాగుచేయుటకు మ్రానులనేమి చెక్క బడిన రాళ్లనేమి కొనుటకును, మందిరము బాగుచేయుటలో అయిన ఖర్చు అంతటికిని, ఆ ద్రవ్యము ఇచ్చుచు వచ్చిరి.

12. Then they would give the weighed-out money to those supervising the work in the house of ADONAI, who would use it to pay the carpenters and construction-workers doing the work in the house of ADONAI,

13. యెహోవా మందిరమునకు వెండి పాత్రలైనను, కత్తెరలైనను, గిన్నెలైనను, బాకాలైనను, బంగారు పాత్రలైనను, వెండిపాత్రలైనను చేయబడలేదు గాని

13. on masons, stone-workers, timber, worked stone and everything else needed for repairing the damaged places in the house of ADONAI.

14. మరమ్మతు పనిచేయువారికి మాత్రము ఆ ద్రవ్యము ఇచ్చి యెహోవా మందిరమును మరల బాగు చేయించిరి.

14. But none of the money brought into the house of ADONAI was used to make silver cups, snuffers, bowls, trumpets or other articles of gold or silver for the house of ADONAI;

15. మరియు పనివారికిచ్చుటకై ఆ ద్రవ్యము అప్పగింత పెట్టుకొనినవారు నమ్మకస్థులని వారిచేత లెక్క అడుగలేదు.

15. because they gave the money to those doing the work, thus restricting its use to repairing the damage in the house of ADONAI.

16. అపరాధ పరిహారార్థ బలులవలనను పాప పరిహారార్థ బలులవలనను దొరికిన సొమ్ము యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి తేబడలేదు, అది యాజకులదాయెను.

16. Moreover, they did not require an accounting from the supervisors given the money to pay the workers, because they dealt honestly.

17. అంతట సిరియారాజైన హజాయేలు గాతు పట్టణము మీదికి పోయి యుద్ధముచేసి దాని పట్టుకొనిన తరువాత అతడు యెరూషలేముమీదికి రాదలచియుండగా

17. Money from guilt offerings and sin offerings, however, was not brought into the house of ADONAI; it went to the [cohanim].

18. యూదారాజైన యోవాషు తన పితరులైన యెహోషా పాతు యెహోరాము అహజ్యా అను యూదారాజులు ప్రతిష్ఠించిన వస్తువులన్నిటిని, తాను ప్రతిష్ఠించిన వస్తువులను, యెహోవా మందిరములోను రాజనగరులోనున్న పదార్థములలోను కనబడిన బంగారమంతయు తీసికొనిసిరియారాజైన హజాయేలునకు పంపగా అతడు యెరూష లేమునొద్దనుండి తిరిగిపోయెను.

18. Haza'el king of Aram went up and fought against Gat; and after capturing it, Haza'el made his decision to attack Yerushalayim.

19. యోవాషు చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు అతడు చేసిన దానినంతటిని గూర్చియు యూదారాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

19. Y'ho'ash king of Y'hudah took all the consecrated articles that Y'hoshafat, Y'horam and Achazyah, his ancestors, kings of Y'hudah, had dedicated, as well as his own consecrated articles and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of ADONAI and of the royal palace, and sent them to Haza'el king of Aram, who then withdrew from Yerushalayim.

20. అతని సేవకులు లేచి కుట్రచేసి సిల్లా అను చోటకి పోవుమార్గమందున్న మిల్లో అను నగరునందు యోవాషును చంపిరి.

20. Other activities of Yo'ash and all his accomplishments are recorded in the Annals of the Kings of Y'hudah.

21. ఎట్లనగా షిమాతు కుమారుడైన యోజాకారు షోమేరు కుమారుడైన యెహోజాబాదు అను అతని సేవకులును అతనిమీద పడగా అతడు మరణమాయెను. జనులు దావీదు పురమందు అతని పితరుల సమాధిలో అతనిని పాతిపెట్టిరి; అతని కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

21. Then his servants got together, formed a conspiracy and murdered Yo'ash at Beit-Millo on the way down to Sila.
