1. యూదారాజైన అహజ్యా కుమారుడైన యోవాషు ఏలుబడిలో ఇరువది మూడవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహూ కుమారుడైన యెహోయాహాజు షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలనారంభించి పదునైదు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.

1. Jehoahaz son of Jehu became king over Israel in Samaria during the twenty-third year Joash son of Ahaziah was king of Judah. Jehoahaz ruled seventeen years,

2. ఇతడు ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపముచేయుటకు కారకుడగు నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము పాపములను విడువక అనుసరించుచు యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించెను.

2. and he did what the Lord said was wrong. Jehoahaz did the same sins Jeroboam son of Nebat had done. Jeroboam had led Israel to sin, and Jehoahaz did not stop doing these same sins.

3. కాబట్టి యెహోవా కోపము ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీద రగులుకొనగా ఆయన సిరియా రాజైన హజాయేలు దినములన్నిటను హజాయేలు కుమారు డైన బెన్హదదు దినములన్నిటను ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని వారి కప్పగించెను.

3. So the Lord was angry with Israel and handed them over to Hazael king of Aram and his son Ben-Hadad for a long time.

4. అయితే యెహోయాహాజు యెహోవాను వేడుకొనగా యెహోవా సిరియా రాజుచేత బాధనొందిన ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని కనికరించి అతని మనవి నంగీకరించెను.

4. Then Jehoahaz begged the Lord, and the Lord listened to him. The Lord had seen the troubles of Israel; he saw how terribly the king of Aram was treating them.

5. కావున యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి ఒక రక్షకుని అను గ్రహింపగా అతనిచేత ఇశ్రాయేలువారు సిరియనుల వశములోనుండి తప్పించుకొని మునుపటివలె స్వస్థాన ములలో కాపురముండిరి.

5. He gave Israel a man to save them, and they escaped from the Arameans. The Israelites then lived in their own homes as they had before,

6. అయినను ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడగు యరొబాము కుటుంబికులు చేసిన పాపములను వారు విడువక వాటిననుసరించుచు వచ్చిరి. మరియు ఆ దేవతాస్తంభమును షోమ్రోనులో నిలిచియుండెను.

6. but they still did not stop doing the same sins that the family of Jeroboam had done. He had led Israel to sin, and they continued doing those sins. The Asherah idol also was left standing in Samaria.

7. రౌతులలో ఏబదిమందియు రథములలో పదియు కాల్బలములో పదివేలమందియు మాత్రమే యెహోయాహాజు దగ్గర ఉండిరి; మిగిలినవారిని సిరియా రాజు దుళ్లకొట్టిన ధూళివలె నాశనముచేసి యుండెను.

7. Nothing was left of Jehoahaz's army except fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand foot soldiers. The king of Aram had destroyed them and made them like chaff.

8. యెహోయాహాజు చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసినదాని నంతటినిగూర్చియు, అతని పరాక్రమ మునుగూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

8. Everything else Jehoahaz did and all his victories are written in the book of the history of the kings of Israel.

9. యెహోయాహాజు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి షోమ్రోనులో పాతిపెట్టబడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన యెహోయాషు అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

9. Jehoahaz died and was buried in Samaria, and his son Jehoash became king in his place.

10. యూదారాజైన యోవాషు ఏలుబడిలో ముప్పది యేడవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడైన యెహోయాషు షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలనారంభించి పదునారు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.

10. Jehoash son of Jehoahaz became king of Israel in Samaria during Joash's thirty-seventh year as king of Judah. Jehoash ruled sixteen years,

11. ఇతడును ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడగు నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము చేసిన పాపములను విడువక వాటి ననుసరించుచు యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించెను.

11. and he did what the Lord said was wrong. He did not stop doing the same sins Jeroboam son of Nebat had done. Jeroboam had led Israel to sin, and Jehoash continued to do the same thing.

12. యెహోయాషు చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతడు చేసినదాని అంతటినిగూర్చియు, యూదారాజైన అమజ్యాతో యుద్ధము చేయునప్పుడు అతడు కనుపరచిన పరాక్రమమునుగూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

12. Everything else he did and all his victories, including his war against Amaziah king of Judah, are written in the book of the history of the kings of Israel.

13. యెహోయాషు తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రిం చిన తరువాత యరొబాము అతని సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడాయెను; యెహోయాషు షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రా యేలురాజుల సమాధియందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

13. Jehoash died, and Jeroboam took his place on the throne. Jehoash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

14. అంతట ఎలీషా మరణకరమైన రోగముచేత పీడితుడై యుండగా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహోయాషు అతని యొద్దకు వచ్చి అతని చూచి కన్నీరు విడుచుచునా తండ్రీ నా తండ్రీ, ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి రథమును రౌతులును నీవే అని యేడ్చెను.

14. At this time Elisha became sick. Before he died, Jehoash king of Israel went to Elisha and cried for him. Jehoash said, 'My father, my father! The chariots of Israel and their horsemen!'

15. అందుకు ఎలీషానీవు వింటిని బాణములను తీసికొమ్మని అతనితో చెప్పగా అతడు వింటిని బాణములను తీసికొనెను.

15. Elisha said to Jehoash, 'Take a bow and arrows.' So he took a bow and arrows.

16. నీ చెయ్యి వింటిమీద ఉంచు మని అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతో చెప్పగా అతడు తన చెయ్యి వింటిమీద ఉంచినప్పుడు ఎలీషా తన చేతులను రాజు చేతులమీద వేసి

16. Then Elisha said to him, 'Put your hand on the bow.' So Jehoash put his hand on the bow. Then Elisha put his hands on the king's hands.

17. తూర్పువైపున నున్న కిటికీని విప్పుమని చెప్పగా అతడు విప్పెను. అప్పుడు ఎలీషా బాణము వేయుమని చెప్పగా అతడు బాణము వేసెను అతడుఇది యెహోవా రక్షణ బాణము, సిరియనుల చేతిలోనుండి మిమ్మును రక్షించు బాణము; సిరియనులు నాశనమగునట్లు నీవు అఫెకులో వారిని హతముచేయుదువని చెప్పి,

17. Elisha said, 'Open the east window.' So Jehoash opened the window. Then Elisha said, 'Shoot,' and Jehoash shot. Elisha said, 'The Lord's arrow of victory over Aram! You will defeat the Arameans at Aphek until you destroy them.'

18. బాణములను పట్టుకొమ్మనగా అతడు పట్టు కొనెను. అంతట అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతోనేలను కొట్టుమనినప్పుడు అతడు ముమ్మారు కొట్టి మానెను.

18. Elisha said, 'Take the arrows.' So Jehoash took them. Then Elisha said to him, 'Strike the ground.' So Jehoash struck the ground three times and stopped.

19. అందు నిమిత్తము దైవజనుడు అతనిమీద కోపగించినీవు అయిదు మారులైన ఆరుమారులైన కొట్టిన యెడల సిరియనులు నాశనమగువరకు నీవు వారిని హతము చేసియుందువు; అయితే ఇప్పుడు ముమ్మారు మాత్రమే సిరియనులను ఓడించెదవని చెప్పెను.

19. The man of God was angry with him. 'You should have struck five or six times!' Elisha said. 'Then you would have struck Aram until you had completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.'

20. తరువాత ఎలీషా మృతిపొందగా వారు అతనిని సమా ధిలో ఉంచిరి. ఒక సంవత్సరము గడచిన తరువాత మోయాబీయుల సైన్యము దేశముమీదికి వచ్చినప్పుడు

20. Then Elisha died and was buried. At that time groups of Moabites would rob the land in the springtime.

21. కొందరు ఒక శవమును పాతిపెట్టుచు సైన్యమునకు భయపడి ఆ శవమును ఎలీషాయొక్క సమాధిలో ఉంచగా దింపిన ఆ శవము ఎలీషా శల్యములకు తగిలినప్పుడు అది తిరిగి బ్రతికి కాళ్లు మోపి నిలిచెను.

21. Once as some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a group of Moabites coming. The Israelites threw the dead man into Elisha's grave. When the man touched Elisha's bones, the man came back to life and stood on his feet.

22. యెహోయాహాజు దినములన్నియు సిరియారాజైన హజాయేలు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని బాధపెట్టెను.

22. During all the days Jehoahaz was king, Hazael king of Aram troubled Israel.

23. గాని యెహోవా వారిమీద జాలిపడి వారియందు దయయుంచి, అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకు యాకోబులతో తాను చేసియున్ననిబంధననుబట్టి వారియందు లక్ష్యము నిలిపి, వారిని నాశము చేయనొల్లక యిప్పటికిని తన సముఖములోనుండి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్టక యుండెను.

23. But the Lord was kind to the Israelites; he had mercy on them and helped them because of his agreement with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. To this day he has never wanted to destroy them or reject them.

24. సిరియారాజైన హజాయేలు మరణము కాగా అతని కుమారుడైన బెన్హదదు అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

24. When Hazael king of Aram died, his son Ben-Hadad became king in his place.

25. అంతట యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడైన యెహోయాషు హజాయేలు కుమారుడైన బెన్హదదు తన తండ్రియైన యెహోయాహాజు చేతిలోనుండి యుద్ధమందు పట్టుకొనిన పట్టణములను మరల తీసి కొనెను. యెహోయాషు అతని ముమ్మారు జయించి ఇశ్రాయేలు పట్టణములను మరల వశపరచుకొనెను.

25. During a war Hazael had taken some cities from Jehoahaz, Jehoash's father. Now Jehoash took back those cities from Hazael's son Ben-Hadad. He defeated Ben-Hadad three times and took back the cities of Israel.
