1. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడునైన యెహోయాషు ఏలుబడిలో రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదారాజును యోవాషు కుమారుడునైన అమజ్యా రాజాయెను.

1. The second yeere of Ioash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel reigned Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah.

2. అతడు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమునందు ఇరువదితొమ్మిది సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి యెరూషలేము కాపుర స్థురాలైన యెహోయద్దాను.

2. He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iehoadan of Ierusalem.

3. ఇతడు తన పితరుడైన దావీదు చేసినట్టు చేయక పోయినను, యెహోవా దృష్టికి నీతిగలవాడై తన తండ్రియైన యోవాషు చేసిన ప్రకారము చేసెను.

3. And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.

4. అయితే అతడు ఉన్నత స్థలములను కొట్టివేయ లేదు; జనులు ఇంకను ఉన్నత స్థలములలో బలులనర్పించుచు ధూపము వేయుచునుండిరి.

4. Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.

5. రాజ్యమందు తాను స్థాపింపబడిన తరువాత రాజగు తన తండ్రిని చంపిన తన సేవకులను అతడు హతము చేయించెను.

5. And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.

6. అయితేకుమారుల దోషమునుబట్టి తండ్రులకు మరణశిక్ష విధింప కూడదు, తండ్రుల దోషమునుబట్టి కుమారులకు మరణశిక్ష విధింపకూడదు. ఎవని పాపమునిమిత్తము వాడే మరణ శిక్ష నొందును, అని మోషే వ్రాసియిచ్చిన ధర్మశాస్త్ర మందు యెహోవా యిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞనుబట్టి ఆ నరహంతకుల పిల్లలను అతడు హతము చేయలేదు.

6. But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.

7. మరియు ఉప్పు లోయలో అతడు యుద్ధము చేసి ఎదోమీయులలో పదివేలమందిని హతముచేసి, సెల అను పట్టణమును పట్టుకొని దానికి యొక్తయేలని పేరు పెట్టెను; నేటివరకు దానికి అదే పేరు.

7. He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and tooke the citie of Sela by warre, and called the name thereof Ioktheel vnto this day.

8. అంతట అమజ్యా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహూకు పుట్టిన యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడైన యెహోయాషు నొద్దకు దూతలను పంపిమనము ఒకరి నొకరము దర్శించు నట్లు నన్ను కలియ రమ్మని వర్తమానము చేయగా

8. Then Amaziah sent messengers to Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz, sonne of Iehu King of Israel, saying, Come, let vs see one another in the face.

9. ఇశ్రా యేలురాజైన యెహోయాషు యూదారాజైన అమజ్యాకు ఈలాగు వర్తమానము పంపెనులెబానోనులోనున్న ముండ్ల చెట్టొకటినీ కుమార్తెను నా కుమారునికిమ్మని లెబానో నులోనున్న దేవదారు వృక్షమునకు వర్తమానము పంపగా, లెబానోనులోనున్న దుష్టమృగము వచ్చి ఆ ముండ్లచెట్టును త్రొక్కివేసెను.

9. Then Iehoash the King of Israel sent to Amaziah King of Iudah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Giue thy daughter to my sonne to wife: and the wilde beast that was in Lebanon, went and trode downe the thistle.

10. నీవు ఎదోమీయులను హతము చేసినందున నీ హృదయమందు నీవు అతిశయపడుచున్నావు సరే; యిప్పుడు నీ నగరునందు నీవుండి నీకున్న ఘనతను బట్టి నీవు అతిశయపడుము. నీవు మాత్రము గాక నీతొకూడ యూదావారును కూలునట్లుగా నీవెందుకు అపాయ ములో దిగుదువని చెప్పినను

10. Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: bragge of glory, and tary at home. why doest thou prouoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Iudah with thee?

11. అమజ్యా విననొల్లనందున ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహోయాషు బయలుదేరి, యూదా సంబంధమైన బేత్షెమెషు పట్టణముదగ్గర తానును యూదా రాజైన అమజ్యాయు కలిసికొనగా

11. But Amaziah would not heare: therefore Iehoash King of Israel went vp: and he and Amaziah King of Iudah sawe one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Iudah.

12. యూదావారు ఇశ్రా యేలువారియెదుట నిలువలేక అపజయమొంది అందరును తమ తమ గుడారములకు పారిపోయిరి.

12. And Iudah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fledde euery man to their tents.

13. మరియు ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజైన యెహోయాషు అహజ్యాకుపుట్టిన యోవాషు కుమారుడైన అమజ్యా అను యూదారాజును బేత్షెమెషు దగ్గర పట్టుకొని యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చి, ఎఫ్రాయిము గుమ్మము మొదలుకొని మూల గుమ్మము వరకు యెరూష లేము ప్రాకారమును నాలుగువందల మూరల పొడుగున పడగొట్టెను.

13. But Iehoash King of Israel tooke Amaziah King of Iudah, the sonne of Iehoash the sonne of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Ierusalem, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, foure hundreth cubites.

14. మరియు యెహోవా మందిరమునందును రాజనగరునందును కనబడిన బంగారము వెండి మొదలైన సమస్తవస్తువులను పట్టణస్థులలో కుదవ పెట్టబడినవారిని తీసికొని షోమ్రోనునకు వచ్చెను.

14. And he tooke all the gold and siluer, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.

15. యెహోయాషు చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతని పరాక్రమ మును గూర్చియు యూదారాజైన అమజ్యాతో అతడు చేసిన యుద్ధమునుగూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

15. Concerning the rest of the acts of Iehoash which he did and his valiant deedes, and how he fought with Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

16. అంతట యెహోయాషు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల సమాధియందు పాతిపెట్ట బడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన యరొబాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

16. And Iehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the Kings of Israel: and Ieroboam his sonne reigned in his stead.

17. యూదారాజైన యోవాషు కుమారుడైన అమజ్యా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడైన యెహో యాషు మరణమైన తరువాత పదునయిదు సంవత్సరములు బ్రదికెను.

17. And Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, liued after the death of Iehoash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel fifteene yeere.

18. అమజ్యా చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చి యూదా రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

18. Concerning the rest of the actes of Amaziah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

19. అతనిమీద యెరూషలేములో జనులు కుట్రచేయగా అతడు లాకీషు పట్టణమునకు పారిపోయెను గాని వారు లాకీషునకు అతనివెంట కొందరిని పంపిరి.

19. But they wrought treason against him in Ierusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slewe him there.

20. వారు అక్కడ అతనిని చంపి గుఱ్ఱములమీద అతని శవమును యెరూషలేమునకు తెప్పించి దావీదు పురమందు అతని పితరుల సమాధిలో పాతిపెట్టిరి.

20. And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Ierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.

21. అప్పుడు యూదా జనులందరును పదునారు సంవత్సరములవాడైన అజర్యాను తీసికొని అతని తండ్రియైన అమజ్యాకు బదులుగా పట్టాభి షేకము చేసిరి.

21. Then all the people of Iudah tooke Azariah which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King for his father Amaziah.

22. ఇతడు రాజైన తన తండ్రి తన పితరులతో నిద్రించిన తరువాత ఏలతు అను పట్టణమును బాగుగా కట్టించి యూదావారికి దానిని మరల అప్పగించెను.

22. He built Elath, and restored it to Iudah, after that the King slept with his fathers.

23. యూదారాజును యోవాషు కుమారుడునైన అమజ్యా యేలుబడిలో పదునయిదవ సంవత్సరమందు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన యెహోయాషు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము షోమ్రో నులో ఏలనారంభించి నలువదియొక సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.

23. In the fifteenth yeere of Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash made King ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and fourtie yeere.

24. ఇతడును ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడగు నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము చేసిన పాపములను విడువక అనుసరించి యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించెను.

24. And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.

25. గత్హేపెరు ఊరివాడైన అమిత్తయికి పుట్టిన తన సేవకుడైన యోనా అను ప్రవక్తద్వారా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాట చొప్పున ఇతడు హమాతునకుపోవు మార్గము మొదలుకొని మైదానపు సముద్రము వరకు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి సరి హద్దును మరల స్వాధీనము చేసికొనెను.

25. He restored the coast of Israel, from the entring of Hamath, vnto the Sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his seruant Ionah the sonne of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.

26. ఏలయనగా అల్పులేమి ఘనులేమి ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి సహాయులెవరును లేకపోయిరి.

26. For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shutte vp, nor any left, neyther yet any that could helpe Israel.

27. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పొందిన బాధ ఘోరమైనదనుకొనెను. ఇశ్రాయేలను పేరు ఆకాశము క్రిందనుండి తుడిచివేయనని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చి యుండెను గనుక యెహోయాషు కుమారుడైన యరొ బాము ద్వారా వారిని రక్షించెను.

27. Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.

28. యరొబాము చేసిన యితరకార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దాని నంత టిని గూర్చియు, అతని పరాక్రమమునుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన యుద్ధమునుగూర్చియు, దమస్కు పట్టణమును యూదావారికి కలిగియున్న హమాతు పట్టణమును ఇశ్రా యేలువారి కొరకై అతడు మరల పట్టుకొనిన సంగతిని గూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

28. Concerning the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Iudah in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

29. యరొబాము తన పితరులైన ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజులతోకూడ నిద్రించిన తరువాత అతని కుమారుడైన జెకర్యా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

29. So Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the Kings of Israel, and Zachariah his sonne reigned in his steade.
