1. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడునైన యెహోయాషు ఏలుబడిలో రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదారాజును యోవాషు కుమారుడునైన అమజ్యా రాజాయెను.

1. The second year of Joas son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Jehoas king of Juda:

2. అతడు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమునందు ఇరువదితొమ్మిది సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి యెరూషలేము కాపుర స్థురాలైన యెహోయద్దాను.

2. he was twenty five year old when he began, and reigned twenty nine year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jehoadan, and was of Jerusalem.

3. ఇతడు తన పితరుడైన దావీదు చేసినట్టు చేయక పోయినను, యెహోవా దృష్టికి నీతిగలవాడై తన తండ్రియైన యోవాషు చేసిన ప్రకారము చేసెను.

3. And he did that pleased the LORD, yet not like David his father: but did in all things as Joas his father did.

4. అయితే అతడు ఉన్నత స్థలములను కొట్టివేయ లేదు; జనులు ఇంకను ఉన్నత స్థలములలో బలులనర్పించుచు ధూపము వేయుచునుండిరి.

4. Neither took they away the hill altars. But the people slew and offered still in the hill altars.

5. రాజ్యమందు తాను స్థాపింపబడిన తరువాత రాజగు తన తండ్రిని చంపిన తన సేవకులను అతడు హతము చేయించెను.

5. And as soon as the kingdom was settled in his hand, he slew his servants that killed the king his father.

6. అయితేకుమారుల దోషమునుబట్టి తండ్రులకు మరణశిక్ష విధింప కూడదు, తండ్రుల దోషమునుబట్టి కుమారులకు మరణశిక్ష విధింపకూడదు. ఎవని పాపమునిమిత్తము వాడే మరణ శిక్ష నొందును, అని మోషే వ్రాసియిచ్చిన ధర్మశాస్త్ర మందు యెహోవా యిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞనుబట్టి ఆ నరహంతకుల పిల్లలను అతడు హతము చేయలేదు.

6. But the children of those murderers he slew not, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, where the LORD commanded saying: the fathers shall not die for the children's cause, nor the children for the deeds of their fathers: But every man shall be slain for his own sin.

7. మరియు ఉప్పు లోయలో అతడు యుద్ధము చేసి ఎదోమీయులలో పదివేలమందిని హతముచేసి, సెల అను పట్టణమును పట్టుకొని దానికి యొక్తయేలని పేరు పెట్టెను; నేటివరకు దానికి అదే పేరు.

7. And he slew of the Edomites in the salt valley ten thousand, and took the town Sela with strength of battle, and called the name of it Jektheel ever after.

8. అంతట అమజ్యా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహూకు పుట్టిన యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడైన యెహోయాషు నొద్దకు దూతలను పంపిమనము ఒకరి నొకరము దర్శించు నట్లు నన్ను కలియ రమ్మని వర్తమానము చేయగా

8. After that Amaziah sent messengers to Joas the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu king of Israel saying: come, let us see each other.

9. ఇశ్రా యేలురాజైన యెహోయాషు యూదారాజైన అమజ్యాకు ఈలాగు వర్తమానము పంపెనులెబానోనులోనున్న ముండ్ల చెట్టొకటినీ కుమార్తెను నా కుమారునికిమ్మని లెబానో నులోనున్న దేవదారు వృక్షమునకు వర్తమానము పంపగా, లెబానోనులోనున్న దుష్టమృగము వచ్చి ఆ ముండ్లచెట్టును త్రొక్కివేసెను.

9. But Joas king of Israel sent again to Amaziah king of Juda saying: A thistle in Libanon sent to a cypress tree in Libanon saying: give thy daughter to my son to wife. But the wild beasts in Libanon went and trod down the thistle.

10. నీవు ఎదోమీయులను హతము చేసినందున నీ హృదయమందు నీవు అతిశయపడుచున్నావు సరే; యిప్పుడు నీ నగరునందు నీవుండి నీకున్న ఘనతను బట్టి నీవు అతిశయపడుము. నీవు మాత్రము గాక నీతొకూడ యూదావారును కూలునట్లుగా నీవెందుకు అపాయ ములో దిగుదువని చెప్పినను

10. Because thou hast beaten the Edomites, therefore thine heart riseth. Be glorious: but tarry at home. For what needest thou to provoke to mischief, that thou shouldest be overthrown and Juda with thee.

11. అమజ్యా విననొల్లనందున ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహోయాషు బయలుదేరి, యూదా సంబంధమైన బేత్షెమెషు పట్టణముదగ్గర తానును యూదా రాజైన అమజ్యాయు కలిసికొనగా

11. But Amaziah would not hear. And so Joas king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Juda saw either other at Bethsames in Juda.

12. యూదావారు ఇశ్రా యేలువారియెదుట నిలువలేక అపజయమొంది అందరును తమ తమ గుడారములకు పారిపోయిరి.

12. And Juda was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to his tent.

13. మరియు ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజైన యెహోయాషు అహజ్యాకుపుట్టిన యోవాషు కుమారుడైన అమజ్యా అను యూదారాజును బేత్షెమెషు దగ్గర పట్టుకొని యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చి, ఎఫ్రాయిము గుమ్మము మొదలుకొని మూల గుమ్మము వరకు యెరూష లేము ప్రాకారమును నాలుగువందల మూరల పొడుగున పడగొట్టెను.

13. And Joas king of Israel took Amaziah king of Juda, son of Jehoas son of Ohoziah, at Bethsames. And then he went to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundredth cubits.

14. మరియు యెహోవా మందిరమునందును రాజనగరునందును కనబడిన బంగారము వెండి మొదలైన సమస్తవస్తువులను పట్టణస్థులలో కుదవ పెట్టబడినవారిని తీసికొని షోమ్రోనునకు వచ్చెను.

14. And he took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasure of the king's house, and hostages thereto: and then returned to Samaria again.

15. యెహోయాషు చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతని పరాక్రమ మును గూర్చియు యూదారాజైన అమజ్యాతో అతడు చేసిన యుద్ధమునుగూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

15. The rest of the acts of Joas which he did, and his power, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Juda, are written in the chronicles of the kings of Israel:

16. అంతట యెహోయాషు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల సమాధియందు పాతిపెట్ట బడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన యరొబాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

16. and Joas laid him to rest with his fathers and was buried at Samaria among the kings of Israel: and Jeroboam his son reigned in his room.

17. యూదారాజైన యోవాషు కుమారుడైన అమజ్యా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడైన యెహో యాషు మరణమైన తరువాత పదునయిదు సంవత్సరములు బ్రదికెను.

17. Amaziah the son of Jehoas king of Juda lived after the death of Joas son of Jehoahaz king of Israel, fifteen year.

18. అమజ్యా చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చి యూదా రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

18. And the remnant of the deeds of Amaziah, are written in the chronicles of the kings of Juda.

19. అతనిమీద యెరూషలేములో జనులు కుట్రచేయగా అతడు లాకీషు పట్టణమునకు పారిపోయెను గాని వారు లాకీషునకు అతనివెంట కొందరిని పంపిరి.

19. And they conspired great treason against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachis. And they went after him to Lachis and slew him there.

20. వారు అక్కడ అతనిని చంపి గుఱ్ఱములమీద అతని శవమును యెరూషలేమునకు తెప్పించి దావీదు పురమందు అతని పితరుల సమాధిలో పాతిపెట్టిరి.

20. And they brought him on an horse and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

21. అప్పుడు యూదా జనులందరును పదునారు సంవత్సరములవాడైన అజర్యాను తీసికొని అతని తండ్రియైన అమజ్యాకు బదులుగా పట్టాభి షేకము చేసిరి.

21. And all the people of Juda took Azariah, which was sixteen year old and made him king for his father Amaziah.

22. ఇతడు రాజైన తన తండ్రి తన పితరులతో నిద్రించిన తరువాత ఏలతు అను పట్టణమును బాగుగా కట్టించి యూదావారికి దానిని మరల అప్పగించెను.

22. And he built Ailath and brought it again to Juda, after that the king was laid to rest with his fathers.

23. యూదారాజును యోవాషు కుమారుడునైన అమజ్యా యేలుబడిలో పదునయిదవ సంవత్సరమందు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన యెహోయాషు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము షోమ్రో నులో ఏలనారంభించి నలువదియొక సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.

23. The fifteenth year of Amaziah son of Jehoas king of Juda, was Jeroboam son of Joas made king over Israel in Samaria and reigned forty one year,

24. ఇతడును ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడగు నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము చేసిన పాపములను విడువక అనుసరించి యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించెను.

24. and wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD: for he turned in nothing from the sin of Jeroboam the son of Nabat which made Israel sin.

25. గత్హేపెరు ఊరివాడైన అమిత్తయికి పుట్టిన తన సేవకుడైన యోనా అను ప్రవక్తద్వారా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాట చొప్పున ఇతడు హమాతునకుపోవు మార్గము మొదలుకొని మైదానపు సముద్రము వరకు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి సరి హద్దును మరల స్వాధీనము చేసికొనెను.

25. He restored the coasts of Israel from the entering of Hemath unto the sea, in the wild fields, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel which he spake thorow his servant Jonas the son of Amithai the prophet, which was of Geth Opher.

26. ఏలయనగా అల్పులేమి ఘనులేమి ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి సహాయులెవరును లేకపోయిరి.

26. For the LORD had seen how that the affliction of Israel was exceeding bitter, in so much that the prisoned and the forsaken were at an end. And there was no helper unto Israel.

27. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పొందిన బాధ ఘోరమైనదనుకొనెను. ఇశ్రాయేలను పేరు ఆకాశము క్రిందనుండి తుడిచివేయనని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చి యుండెను గనుక యెహోయాషు కుమారుడైన యరొ బాము ద్వారా వారిని రక్షించెను.

27. And the LORD had not yet said that men should put out the name of Israel from under heaven. And therefore he holp them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joas.

28. యరొబాము చేసిన యితరకార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దాని నంత టిని గూర్చియు, అతని పరాక్రమమునుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన యుద్ధమునుగూర్చియు, దమస్కు పట్టణమును యూదావారికి కలిగియున్న హమాతు పట్టణమును ఇశ్రా యేలువారి కొరకై అతడు మరల పట్టుకొనిన సంగతిని గూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

28. The rest of the deeds of Jeroboam, and all he did, and his power how he fought, and how he restored Damasco and Hemath to Juda in Israel are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

29. యరొబాము తన పితరులైన ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజులతోకూడ నిద్రించిన తరువాత అతని కుమారుడైన జెకర్యా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

29. And Jeroboam laid him to rest with his fathers and with the kings of Israel, and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.
