1. అప్పుడు రాజు యూదా పెద్దలనందరినియెరూషలేము పెద్దలనందరిని తనయొద్దకు పిలువనంపించి

1. So they reported the word to the king. and the king sent and gathered all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem to himself.

2. యూదావారినందరిని యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులనందరిని, యాజకులను ప్రవక్తలను అల్పులనేమి ఘనులనేమి జనులందరిని పిలుచుకొని, యెహోవా మందిరమునకు వచ్చి వారు వినుచుండగా, యెహోవా మందిరమందు దొరకిన నిబంధన గ్రంథములోని మాటలన్నిటిని చదివించెను.

2. And the king went up to the house of the Lord, and every man of Judah, and all who dwelt in Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people small and great; and he read in their ears all the words of the Book of the Covenant that was found in the house of the Lord.

3. రాజు ఒక స్తంభముదగ్గర నిలిచియెహోవా మార్గములయందు నడచి, ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలను కట్టడలను శాసనములను పూర్ణహృదయముతోను పూర్ణాత్మ తోను గైకొని, యీ గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్న నిబంధన సంబంధమైన మాటలన్నిటిని స్థిరపరచుదుమని యెహోవా సన్నిధిని నిబంధన చేయగా జనులందరు ఆ నిబంధనకు సమ్మతించిరి.

3. And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His ordinances with all [his] heart and with all [his] soul, to confirm the words of this covenant; [even] [all] the things written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

4. రాజుబయలు దేవతకును అషేరా దేవికిని నక్షత్రములకును చేయబడిన ఉపకరణము లన్నిటి యెహోవా ఆలయములోనుండి ఇవతలకు తీసికొని రావలెనని ప్రధానయాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాకును రెండవ వరుస యాజకులకును ద్వారపాలకులకును ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా హిల్కీయా వాటిని యెరూషలేము వెలుపల కిద్రోను పొలములో కాల్చివేసి, బూడిదెను బేతేలు ఊరికి పంపి వేసెను.

4. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and those that kept the door, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and all the host of heaven, and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and took the ashes of them to Bethel.

5. మరియు యూదా పట్టణములయం దున్న ఉన్నతస్థలములలోను యెరూషలేము చుట్టునున్న చోట్లలోను ధూపము వేయుటకై యూదారాజులు నియమించిన అర్చకులనేమి, బయలునకును సూర్యచంద్రు లకును గ్రహములకును నక్షత్రములకును ధూపము వేయు వారినేమి, అతడు అందరిని నిలిపి వేసెను.

5. And he burned the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah [had] appointed (and they burned incense in the high places and in the cities of Judah, and the places around about Jerusalem); and those that burned incense to Baal, and to the sun, and to the moon, and to Mazuroth, and to the whole host of heaven.

6. యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను యెరూషలేము వెలుపలనున్న కిద్రోను వాగుదగ్గరకు తెప్పించి, కిద్రోను వాగు ఒడ్డున దాని కాల్చి త్రొక్కి పొడుముచేసి ఆ పొడుమును సామాన్య జనుల సమాధులమీద చల్లెను.

6. And he carried out the grove from the house of the Lord to the Brook Kidron, and burned it at the Brook Kidron, and reduced it to powder, and cast its powder on the tombs of the sons of the people.

7. మరియు యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న పురుషగాముల యిండ్లను పడగొట్టించెను. అచ్చట అషేరాదేవికి గుళ్లను అల్లు స్త్రీలు వాసము చేయుచుండిరి.

7. And he pulled down the house of the sodomites that were by the house of the Lord, where the women wove tents for the grove.

8. యూదా పట్టణము లోనున్న యాజకులనందరిని అతడు అవతలికి వెళ్లగొట్టెను, గెబా మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షెబా వరకును యాజకులు ధూపమువేసిన ఉన్నతస్థలములను అతడు అపవిత్ర పరచి, పట్టణములో ప్రవేశించువాని యెడమపార్శ్వమున పట్టణపు అధికారియైన యెహోషువ గుమ్మముదగ్గరనుండు ఉన్నతస్థలములను పడగొట్టించెను.

8. And he brought up all the priests from the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests burned incense, from Geba even to Beersheba; and he pulled down the house of the gates that was by the door of the gate of Joshua the ruler of the city, on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.

9. అయినప్పటికి ఆ ఉన్నతస్థలములమీద నియమింపబడిన యాజకులు యెరూ షలేమందున్న యెహోవా బలిపీఠమునొద్దకు రాక తమ సహోదరులయొద్ద పులుసులేని ఆహారము భక్షించువారు.

9. Only the priests of the high places went not up to the altar of the Lord in Jerusalem, for they only ate leavened bread in the midst of their brethren.

10. మరియు ఎవడైనను తన కుమారునేగాని కుమార్తెనేగాని మొలెకునకు అగ్నిగుండము దాటించకుండునట్లు బెన్‌ హిన్నోము అను లోయలోనున్న తోఫెతు అను ప్రదేశ మును అతడు అపవిత్రము చేసెను.

10. And he defiled Topheth which is in the valley of the Son of Hinnom, [constructed] for a man to cause his son or his daughter to pass through fire to Molech.

11. ఇదియుగాక అతడు యూదారాజులు సూర్యునికి ప్రతిష్ఠించిన గుఱ్ఱములను మంట పములో నివసించు పరిచారకుడైన నెతన్మెలకుయొక్క గది దగ్గర యెహోవా మందిరపు ద్వారమునొద్దనుండి తీసివేసి, సూర్యునికి ప్రతిష్ఠింపబడిన రథములను అగ్నితో కాల్చి వేసెను.

11. And he burned the horses which the king of Judah had given to the sun in the entrance of the house of the Lord, by the treasury of Nathan the king's eunuch, in the suburbs; and he burned the chariot of the sun with fire.

12. మరియు యూదారాజులు చేయించిన ఆహాజు మేడగదిపైనున్న బలిపీఠములను, యెహోవా మందిరపు రెండు సాలలలో మనష్షే చేయించిన బలిపీఠములను రాజు పడ గొట్టించి ఛిన్నాభిన్నములుగా చేయించి ఆ ధూళిని కిద్రోను వాగులో పోయించెను.

12. And the altars that were on the roof of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord, did the king pull down and forcibly remove from there, and cast their dust into the Brook of Kidron.

13. యెరూషలేము ఎదుట నున్న హేయమను పర్వతపు కుడిపార్శ్వమందు అష్తా రోతు అను సీదోనీయుల విగ్రహమునకును, కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల విగ్రహమునకును, మిల్కోము అను అమ్మోనీయుల విగ్రహమునకును ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన సొలొ మోను కట్టించిన ఉన్నతస్థలములను రాజు అపవిత్రపరచి

13. And the king defiled the house that was before Jerusalem, on the right hand of the Mount of Mosthath, which Solomon king of Israel built to Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and to Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and to Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.

14. ఆ ప్రతిమలను తునకలుగా కొట్టించి, అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను పడగొట్టించి వాటి స్థానములను నరశల్యములతో నింపెను.

14. And he broke in pieces the pillars, and utterly destroyed the groves, and filled their places with the bones of men.

15. బేతేలులోనున్న బలిపీఠమును ఉన్నతస్థలమును, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము కట్టించిన ఆ ఉన్నత స్థలమును బలిపీఠమును అతడు పడగొట్టించి, ఆ ఉన్నత స్థలమును కాల్చి పొడుము అగునట్లుగా త్రొక్కించి అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను కాల్చివేసెను.

15. Also the high altar in Bethel, which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that high altar he tore down, and broke in pieces the stones of it, and reduced it to powder, and burnt the grove.

16. యోషీయా అటు తిరిగి అచ్చట పర్వతమందున్న సమాధులను చూచి కొందరిని పంపి సమాధులలోనున్న శల్యములను తెప్పించి, దైవ జనుడు యెహోవా మాట చాటించి చెప్పిన ప్రకారము వాటిని బలిపీఠముమీద కాల్చి దాని అపవిత్రపరచెను.

16. And Josiah turned aside, and saw the tombs that were there in the city, and sent, and took the bones out of the tombs, and burned them on the altar, and defiled it, according to the word of the Lord which the man of God spoke, when Jeroboam stood by the altar at the feast; and he turned and raised his eyes to the tomb of the man of God that spoke these words.

17. అంతట అతడునాకు కనబడుచున్న ఆ సమాధి యెవరిదని అడిగినప్పుడు పట్టణపు వారు అది యూదాదేశమునుండి వచ్చి నీవు, బేతేలులోని బలిపీఠమునకు చేసిన క్రియలను ముందుగా తెలిపిన దైవజనుని సమాధియని చెప్పిరి.

17. And he said, What [is] that mound which I see? And the men of the city said to him, [It is the grave of] the man of God that came out of Judah, and uttered these things which you have done upon the altar of Bethel.

18. అందు కతడుదానిని తప్పించుడి, యెవడును అతని శల్యములను తీయకూడదని చెప్పగా వారు అతని శల్యములను షోమ్రోను పట్టణమునుండి వచ్చిన ప్రవక్త శల్యములను తప్పించిరి.

18. And he said, Let him alone; let no one disturb his bones. So his bones were spared, together with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.

19. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజులు షోమ్రోను పట్టణములలో ఏ ఉన్నతస్థలములలో మందిర ములను కట్టించి యెహోవాకు కోపము పుట్టించిరో ఆ మందిరములన్నిటిని యోషీయా తీసివేసి, తాను బేతేలులో చేసిన క్రియలన్నిటి ప్రకారము వాటికి చేసెను.

19. Moreover Josiah removed all the houses of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel made to provoke the Lord, and did to them all that he did in Bethel.

20. అచ్చట అతడు ఉన్నతస్థలములకు నియమింపబడిన యాజ కులనందరిని బలిపీఠముల మీద చంపించి వాటిమీద నరశల్య ములను కాల్పించి యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వచ్చెను.

20. And he sacrificed all the priests of the high places that were there on the altars, and burned the bones of men upon them, and returned to Jerusalem.

21. అంతట రాజునిబంధన గ్రంథమునందు వ్రాసి యున్న ప్రకారముగా మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు పస్కాపండుగను ఆచరించుడని జనులకందరికి ఆజ్ఞా పింపగా

21. And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the Passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in the Book of the Covenant.

22. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు న్యాయము నడిపించిన న్యాయాధిపతులున్న దినములనుండి ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల యొక్కయు యూదారాజులయొక్కయు దినములన్నిటి వరకు ఎన్నడును జరుగనంత గొప్పగా ఆ సమయమందు పస్కాపండుగ ఆచరింపబడెను.

22. Such a Passover as this had not been kept from the days of the judges who judged Israel, even all the days of the kings of Israel, and of the kings of Judah.

23. ఈ పండుగ రాజైన యోషీయా యేలుబడిలో పదునెనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమందు యెరూషలేములో యెహోవాకు ఆచరింపబడెను.

23. But in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, was the Passover kept to the Lord in Jerusalem.

24. మరియు కర్ణపిశాచి గలవారిని సోదెచెప్పువారిని గృహ దేవతలను విగ్రహ ములను, యూదాదేశమందును యెరూష లేమునందును కనబడిన విగ్రహములన్నిటిని యోషీయా తీసివేసి, యెహోవామందిరమందు యాజకుడైన హిల్కీ యాకు దొరికిన గ్రంథమందు వ్రాసియున్న ధర్మశాస్త్ర విధులను స్థిరపరచుటకై ప్రయత్నము చేసెను.

24. Moreover Josiah removed the sorcerers and the wizards and the spiritists and the idols, and all the abominations that had been set up in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might keep the words of the law that were written in the book, which Hilkiah the priest had found in the house of the Lord.

25. అతనికి పూర్వమున్న రాజులలో అతనివలె పూర్ణహృదయముతోను పూర్ణాత్మతోను పూర్ణబలముతోను యెహోవావైపు తిరిగి మోషే నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రముచొప్పున చేసినవాడు ఒకడును లేడు; అతని తరువాతనైనను అతనివంటివాడు ఒకడును లేడు.

25. There was no king like him before him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his strength, according to all the Law of Moses; and after him there rose none like him.

26. అయినను మనష్షే యెహోవాకు పుట్టించిన కోపమునుబట్టి ఆయన కోపాగ్ని యింకను చల్లారకుండ యూదామీద మండుచునే యుండెను.

26. Nevertheless the Lord turned not from the fierceness of His great anger, wherewith He was wroth in His anger against Judah, because of the provocations, with which Manasseh provoked Him.

27. కాబట్టి యెహోవానేను ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని వెళ్లగొట్టినట్లు యూదావారిని నా సముఖమునకు దూరముగా చేసి, నేను కోరుకొనిన యెరూషలేము పట్టణమును, నా నామమును అచ్చట ఉంచుదునని నేను చెప్పియున్న మందిరమును నేను విసర్జించెదనని అనుకొనియుండెను.

27. And the Lord said, I will also remove Judah from My presence, as I removed Israel, and I will reject this city which I have chosen, [even] Jerusalem, and the house [of] which I said, My name shall be there.

28. యోషీయా చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దానినంతటినిగూర్చియు యూదారాజుల వృత్తాంత ముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

28. And the rest of the acts of Josiah, and all that he did, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

29. అతని దినముల యందు ఐగుప్తురాజైన ఫరోనెకో అష్షూరురాజుతో యుద్ధముచేయుటకై యూఫ్రటీసునది దగ్గరకు వెళ్లుచుండగా తన్ను ఎదుర్కొనవచ్చిన రాజైన యోషీయాను మెగిద్దో దగ్గర కనుగొని అతని చంపెను.

29. And in his days Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt went up against the king of the Assyrians, to the River Euphrates; and Josiah went out to meet him. And Necho killed him in Megiddo when he saw him.

30. అతని సేవకులు అతని శవమును రథముమీద ఉంచి, మెగిద్దోనుండి యెరూష లేమునకు తీసికొనివచ్చి అతని సమాధియందు పాతిపెట్టిరి. అప్పుడు దేశపు జనులు యోషీయా కుమారుడైన యెహో యాహాజును తీసికొని అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకముచేసి అతని తండ్రికి మారుగా అతనిని రాజుగానుంచిరి.

30. And his servants carried him dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in the place of his father.

31. యెహోయాహాజు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది మూడేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేములో మూడు మాసములు ఏలెను. అతని తల్లి లిబ్నా ఊరివాడైన యిర్మీయా కుమార్తె యగు హమూటలు.

31. Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem; and his mother's name [was] Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

32. ఇతడు తన పితరులు చేసినదంతటి ప్రకారముగా యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడునడత నడచెను.

32. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.

33. ఇతడు యెరూషలేములో ఏలుబడి చేయకుండ ఫరోనెకో హమాతు దేశమందున్న రిబ్లా పట్టణమందు అతనిని బంధక ములలో ఉంచి, దేశముమీద ఏబది మణుగుల వెండిని, రెండు మణుగుల బంగారమును పన్నుగా నిర్ణయించి

33. And Pharaoh Necho removed him to Riblah in the land of Hamath, so that he should not reign in Jerusalem; and he imposed a tribute on the land, a hundred talents of silver, and a hundred talents of gold.

34. యోషీయా కుమారుడైన ఎల్యాకీమును అతని తండ్రియైన యోషీయాకు మారుగా రాజుగా నియమించి, అతనికి యెహోయాకీమను మారుపేరుపెట్టి యెహోయాహాజు ఐగుప్తుదేశమునకు కొనిపోగా అతడచ్చట మృతిబొందెను.

34. And Pharaoh Necho made Eliakim son of Josiah king of Judah over them, in the place of his father Josiah, and he changed his name [to] Jehoiakim, and he took Jehoahaz and brought him to Egypt, and he died there.

35. యెహోయాకీము ఫరో యిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞచొప్పున దేశముమీద పన్ను నిర్ణయించి ఆ వెండి బంగారములను ఫరోకు చెల్లించుచువచ్చెను. దేశపు జనులయొద్దనుండి వారి వారికి నిర్ణయమైన చొప్పున వసూలుచేసి అతడు ఫరోనెకోకు చెల్లించెను.

35. And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he assessed the land to give the money at the command of Pharaoh: they gave the silver and the gold, [each] man according to his assessment, together with the people of the land to give to Pharaoh Necho.

36. యెహోయాకీము ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమున పదకొండు సంవత్సర ములు ఏలెను. అతని తల్లి రూమా ఊరివా డైన పెదాయా కుమార్తెయగు జెబూదా.

36. Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name [was] Zebudah, daughter of Pedaiah of Rummah.

37. ఇతడును తన పితరుల చర్యలన్నిటి ప్రకారముగా యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడునడతనడిచెను.

37. And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.
