1. అంతట ప్రవక్తల శిష్యులు ఎలీషాయొద్దకు వచ్చిఇదిగో నీయొద్ద మాకున్న స్థలము ఇరుకుగా నున్నది;

1. The children of ye prophetes sayde vnto Eliseus: Beholde, the place where we dwell before ye, is to narow for vs,

2. నీ సెలవైతే మేము యొర్దాను నదికి పోయి తలయొక మ్రాను అచ్చటనుండి తెచ్చుకొని మరియొకచోట నివాసము కట్టుకొందుమని మనవి చేయగా అతడువెళ్లుడని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను.

2. let vs go vnto Iordane, & euery one fetch tymbre there, yt we maye there buylde vs a place to dwell in. He saide: Go yor waye.

3. ఒకడుదయచేసి నీ దాసులమైన మాతో కూడ నీవు రావలెనని కోరగా అతడునేను వచ్చెదనని చెప్పి

3. And one sayde: Go to then, & come wt thy seruauntes. He sayde: I wil go with you.

4. వారితోకూడ పోయెను; వారు యొర్దానుకు వచ్చి మ్రానులు నరుకుచుండిరి.

4. And he wete with them. And whan they came to Iordane, they hewed downe tymber.

5. ఒకడు దూలము నరుకుచున్నప్పుడు గొడ్డలి ఊడి నీటిలో పడి పోగా వాడు అయ్యో నా యేలినవాడా, అది యెరవుతెచ్చినదని మొఱ్ఱపెట్టెను గనుక

5. And as one was fellynge downe a tre, the yron fell in to the water, and he cried and sayde: Alas my lorde, & it is burowed.

6. ఆ దైవజనుడు అదెక్కడపడెనని అడిగెను; వాడు అతనికి ఆ స్థలమును చూపింపగా అతడు కొమ్మయొకటి నరికి నీళ్లలో వేయగా గొడ్డలి తేలెను.

6. But the man of God sayde: Where fell it in? And whan he had shewed him the place, he cut downe a sticke, and thrust it in there. Then swame the yron.

7. అతడు దానిని పట్టుకొనుమని వానితో చెప్పగా వాడు తన చెయ్యి చాపి దానిని పట్టుకొనెను.

7. And he sayde: Take it vp. So he put forth his hande, and toke it.

8. సిరియారాజు ఇశ్రాయేలుతో యుద్ధముచేయవలెనని కోరి తన సేవకులతో ఆలోచనచేసిఫలానిస్థలమందు మన దండు పేట ఉంచుదమని చెప్పెను.

8. And the kynge of Syria warred agaynst Israel, and toke councell at his seruauntes, and sayde: There & there will we lye.

9. అయితే ఆ దైవ జనుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునకు వర్తమానము పంపిఫలాని స్థలమునకు నీవు పోవద్దు, అచ్చటికి సిరియనులు వచ్చి దిగి యున్నారని తెలియజేసెను గనుక

9. But the man of God sent to ye kynge of Israel, sayenge: Bewarre yt thou go not vnto that place, for the Syrians rest there.

10. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు దైవజనుడు తనకు తెలిపి హెచ్చరికచేసిన స్థలమునకు పంపి సంగతి తెలిసికొని తనవారిని రక్షించుకొనెను. ఈలాగు మాటిమాటికి జరుగుచు వచ్చినందున

10. So the kynge of Israel sent vnto ye place wherof ye man of God tolde him, & kepte it, & helde watch there, & dyd that not once or twyse onely.

11. సిరియారాజు కల్లోలపడి తన సేవకులను పిలిచిమనలో ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు పక్షము వహించిన వారెవరైనది మాకు తెలియజెప్ప రాదా అని వారి నడుగగా

11. The was ye kynge of Syrias herte vexed therfore, and called his seruauntes, and sayde vnto them: Wyll ye not tell me, which of oure men is fled vnto the kynge of Israel?

12. అతని సేవకులలో ఒకడురాజవైన నా యేలినవాడా, ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు పక్షమున ఎవరును లేరుగాని ఇశ్రాయేలులో నున్న ప్రవక్తయగు ఎలీషా మీ అంతఃపురమందు మీరు అనుకొనిన మాటలు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునకు తెలియజేయుననెను.

12. Then sayde one of his seruauntes: Not so my lorde O kynge, but Eliseus the prophet in Israel telleth the kynge of Israel all that thou speakest in thy chamber where thou lyest.

13. అందుకు రాజుమేము మనుష్యులను పంపి అతని తెప్పించునట్లు నీవు వెళ్లి అతడుండు చోటు చూచి రమ్ము అని సెలవియ్యగా అతడు దోతానులో ఉన్నాడని వర్తమానము వచ్చెను.

13. He sayde: Go youre waye the and loke where he is, that I maye sende, and cause him be fetched. And they shewed him and sayde: Beholde, he is at Dothan.

14. కాబట్టి రాజు అచ్చటికి గుఱ్ఱములను రథము లను గొప్పసైన్యమును పంపెను. వారు రాత్రివేళ వచ్చి నలుదిశలను పట్టణమును చుట్టుకొనగా

14. The sent he thither horses & charetes, & a greate power. And wha they came thither by nighte, they compased the cite aboute.

15. దైవజనుడైన అతని పనివాడు పెందలకడ లేచి బయటికి వచ్చి నప్పుడు గుఱ్ఱములును రథములును గల సైన్యము పట్టణ మును చుట్టుకొని యుండుట కనబడెను. అంతట అతని పనివాడు అయ్యో నా యేలినవాడా, మనము ఏమి చేయుదమని ఆ దైవజనునితో అనగా

15. And the mynister of the ma of God arose early to get him vp. And as he wete forth, beholde, there laye an hoost of men aboute ye cite with horses and charettes. Then saide his childe vnto him: Alas syr, how wyll we now do?

16. అతడుభయ పడవద్దు, మన పక్షమున నున్నవారు వారికంటె అధికులై యున్నారని చెప్పి

16. He sayde: Feare not, for there are mo of them yt are with vs, then of those that are with them.

17. యెహోవా, వీడు చూచునట్లు దయచేసి వీని కండ్లను తెరువుమని ఎలీషా ప్రార్థనచేయగా యెహోవా ఆ పనివాని కండ్లను తెరవచేసెను గనుక వాడు ఎలీషాచుట్టును పర్వతము అగ్ని గుఱ్ఱములచేత రథములచేతను నిండియుండుట చూచెను.

17. And Eliseus prayed & sayde: LORDE open his eyes, yt he maye se. Then the LORDE opened ye childes eyes, yt he sawe, & beholde, ye mount was full of fyrie horses & charettes roude aboute Eliseus.

18. ఆ దండువారు అతని సమీపించినప్పుడు ఎలీషాఈ జనులను అంధత్వ ముతో మొత్తుమని యెహోవాను వేడుకొనగా ఆయన ఎలీషాచేసిన ప్రార్థనచొప్పున వారిని అంధత్వముతో మొత్తెను.

18. And wha they came downe vnto him, Eliseus made his prayer, & sayde: LORDE smyte this people wt blyndnes. And he smote the with blyndnes acordinge to the worde of Eliseus.

19. అప్పుడు ఎలీషాఇది మార్గముకాదు, ఇది పట్టణము కాదు, మీరు నా వెంట వచ్చినయెడల మీరు వెదకువానియొద్దకు మిమ్మును తీసికొని పోదునని వారితో చెప్పి షోమ్రోను పట్టణమునకు వారిని నడిపించెను.

19. And Eliseus saide vnto them: This is not ye waye nor the cite, folowe me, I wil brynge you to the man whom ye seke. And he broughte them vnto Samaria.

20. వారు షోమ్రోనులోనికి వచ్చినప్పుడు అతడుయెహోవా, వీరు చూచునట్లు వీరి కండ్లను తెరువుమని ప్రార్థనచేయగా యెహోవా వారి కండ్లను తెరవచేసెను గనుక వారు తాము షోమ్రోను మధ్య ఉన్నామని తెలిసికొనిరి.

20. And whan they came to Samaria, Eliseus sayde: LORDE open these mens eyes, yt they maye se. And the LORDE opened their eyes, yt they sawe, & beholde, they were in the myddes of Samaria.

21. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు వారిని పారజూచినాయనా వీరిని కొట్టుదునా, కొట్టుదునా? అని ఎలీషాను అడుగగా

21. And whan the kynge of Israel sawe them, he saide vnto Eliseus: My father, shal I smyte the?

22. అతడునీవు వీరిని కొట్టవద్దు; నీ కత్తిచేతను నీ వింటిచేతను నీవు చెరపట్టిన వారినైనను కొట్టుదువా? వారికి భోజనము పెట్టించి వారు తిని త్రాగిన తరువాత వారు తమ యజమానుని యొద్దకు వెళ్లుదురని చెప్పెను.

22. He saide: Thou shalt not smyte the: loke whom thou takest with thy swerde and bowe, smyte those. Set bred and water before them, that they maye eate and drynke, and let them departe vnto their lorde.

23. అతడు వారి కొరకు విస్తారమైన భోజన పదార్థములను సిద్ధపరచగా వారు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొని రాజు సెలవుపొంది తమ యజమానుని యొద్దకు పోయిరి. అప్పటినుండి సిరి యనుల దండువారు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశములోనికి వచ్చుట మానిపోయెను.

23. The was there a greate dyner prepared. And whan they had eaten and dronken, he let them go to departe vnto their lorde. From that tyme forth came the men of warre of the Syrians nomore into the londe of Israel.

24. అటుతరువాత సిరియా రాజైన బెన్హదదు తన సైన్య మంతటిని సమకూర్చుకొని వచ్చి షోమ్రోనునకు ముట్టడి వేసెను.

24. After this it fortuned, that Benadab the kynge of Syria gathered all his hoost, and wete vp, & layed sege vnto Samaria:

25. అప్పుడు షోమ్రోనులో గొప్ప క్షామము కలిగి యుండగా గాడిదయొక్క తల ఎనుబది రూపాయలకును, అరపావు పావురపు రెట్ట అయిదు రూపాయలకును అమ్మ బడెను; వారు అంత కఠినముగా ముట్టడి వేసియుండిరి.

25. & there was a greate derth at Samaria. But they layed sege to the cite so longe, tyll an Asses heade was worth foure score syluer pes, and the fourth parte of a Cab of doues donge worth fyue syluer pens.

26. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు పట్టణపు ప్రాకారముమీద సంచారముచేయగా ఒక స్త్రీ రాజును చూచిరాజవైన నా యేలినవాడా, సహాయము చేయుమని కేకలు వేయుట విని

26. And whan the kynge of Israel wente vnto the wall, a woman cried vnto him and sayde: Helpe me my lorde O kynge.

27. యెహోవా నీకు సహాయము చేయనిది నేనెక్కడ నుండి నీకు సహాయము చేయుదును? కళ్లములోనుండి యైనను ద్రాక్షగానుగలోనుండియైనను దేనినైనను ఇచ్చి సహాయముచేయ వల్లపడదని చెప్పి

27. He sayde: Yf the LORDE helpe the not, wherwith shal I helpe the? with ye barne or with the wyne presse?

28. నీ విచారమునకు కారణమేమని యడుగగా అదిఈ స్త్రీ నన్ను చూచినేటి ఆహారమునకు నీ బిడ్డను ఇమ్ము రేపు మనము నా బిడ్డను భక్షించుదుము, అని చెప్పినప్పుడు

28. And the kynge sayde vnto her: What ayleth ye? She sayde: This woman sayde vnto me: Geue vs yi sonne, that we maye eate him, tomorow wyll we eate my sonne.

29. మేము నా బిడ్డను వంటచేసికొని తింటివిు. అయితే మరునాటియందు నేను దాని చూచినేటి ఆహారమునకు నీ బిడ్డను ఇమ్మని అడిగితిని గాని అది తన బిడ్డను దాచిపెట్టెనని చెప్పెను.

29. So we sod my sonne, & haue eaten him, and I sayde vnto her on ye thirde daye: Geue vs thy sonne and let vs eate him, but she hath hyd him awaye.

30. రాజు ఆ స్త్రీ మాటలు విని తన వస్త్రములను చింపుకొని యింక ప్రాకారముమీద నడిచి పోవుచుండగా జనులు అతనిని తేరి చూచినప్పుడు లోపల అతని ఒంటి మీద గోనెపట్ట కనబడెను.

30. Whan the kynge herde the womans wordes, he rente his clothes, whyle he was goynge to the wall. The sawe all the people, that he had a sackcloth vnder vpon his body.

31. తరువాత రాజుషాపాతు కుమారుడైన ఎలీషాయొక్క తల యీ దినమున అతనిపైన నిలిచియున్నయెడల దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయునుగాక అనెను.

31. And he sayde: God do this and that vnto me, yf the heade of Eliseus the sonne of Saphat shal this daye stonde vpon him.

32. అయితే ఎలీషా తన యింట కూర్చునియుండగా పెద్దలును అతనితోకూడ కూర్చుండి యున్నప్పుడు రాజు ఒక మనిషిని పంపెను. ఆ పంప బడినవాడు ఎలీషాదగ్గరకు రాకమునుపే అతడు ఆ పెద్ద లను చూచిఈ నరహంతకుని కుమారుడు నా తలను కొట్టి వేయుటకు ఒకని పంపియున్నాడని మీకు తెలిసినదా? మీరు కనిపెట్టి యుండి, ఆ దూత రాగా వాడు లోపలికి రాకుండ తలుపుతో వానిని వెలుపలికి తోసి తలుపు మూసి వేయుడి;వాని యజమానుని కాళ్లచప్పుడు వానివెనుక వినబడును గదా అని వారితో చెప్పుచుండగా

32. As for Eliseus, he sat in his house, & the Elders sat by him. And he sent a man before him, but or euer the messaunge came to him, he sayde vnto ye Elders: Haue ye not sene how this childe of murthure hath sent hither, to take awaye my heade? Take hede, whan the messaunger cometh, yt ye holde him at the dore. Beholde, ye noyse of his lordes fete foloweth him.

33. ఆ దూత అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చెను. అంతట రాజుఈ కీడు యెహోవా వలననైనది, నేను ఇక ఎందుకు యెహోవాకొరకు కనిపెట్టి యుండవలెననెను.

33. Whyle he was thus talkynge wt them, beholde, ye messaunger came to him, & sayde: Beholde, this euell cometh of ye LORDE, and what more shal I loke for of the LORDE?
