1. దావీదు తన యింట నుండి ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును పిలిపించినేను దేవదారు మ్రానులతో కట్టబడిన నగరులో నివాసము చేయుచున్నాను; యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసము తెరలచాటున నున్నదని చెప్పగా

1. After David had been living in his palace awhile, he said to Natan the prophet, 'Here, I'm living in a cedar-wood palace; but the ark for the covenant of ADONAI is kept under a tent!'

2. నాతానుదేవుడు నీకు తోడైయున్నాడు, నీ హృదయమందున్న దంతయు చేయుమని దావీదుతో అనెను.

2. Natan said to David, 'Go, do everything that is in your heart, for God is with you.'

3. ఆ రాత్రియందు దేవునివాక్కు నాతానునకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను.

3. But that same night the word of God came to Natan:

4. నీవు పోయి నా సేవకుడైన దావీదుతో ఇట్లనుము యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా నా నివాస మునకై యొక ఆలయము కట్టించుట నీచేతకాదు.

4. 'Go, and tell David my servant that this is what ADONAI says: 'You are not to build me a house to live in,

5. ఇశ్రా యేలీయులను రప్పించిన నాటనుండి నేటివరకు నేను ఒక యింటిలో నివాసము చేయక, ఒకానొక గుడారములోను ఒకానొక డేరాలోను నివాసము చేసితిని.

5. because from the day I brought up Isra'el until today, I never lived in a house; rather, I've gone from tent to tent and from one tabernacle to another.

6. నేను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులందరి మధ్యను సంచరించిన కాలమంతయుమీరు నాకొరకు దేవదారుమ్రానులతో ఆలయము కట్ట కుంటిరేమియని, నా జనమును మేపవలసినదని నేను ఆజ్ఞా పించిన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల న్యాయాధిపతులలో ఎవరితో నైనను నేనొక మాటయైన పలికియుంటినా?

6. Everywhere I traveled with all Isra'el, did I ever speak a word to any of the judges of Isra'el, whom I ordered to shepherd my people Isra'el, asking, 'Why haven't you built me a cedar-wood house?''

7. కావున నీవు నా సేవకుడైన దావీదుతో చెప్పవలసినదేమనగాసైన్యములకు అధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈ ప్రకారము సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడునీవు నా జనులైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద అధిపతివై యుండునట్లు, గొఱ్ఱెలవెంబడి తిరుగుచున్న నిన్ను గొఱ్ఱెల దొడ్డినుండి తీసికొని

7. 'Therefore say to my servant David that this is what ADONAI-[Tzva'ot] says: 'I took you from the sheep-yards, from following the sheep, to make you chief over my people Isra'el.

8. నీవువెళ్లిన చోట్లనెల్ల నీకు తోడుగా ఉండి, నిన్ను ద్వేషించినవారిని నీ ముందర నిలువనియ్యక నిర్మూలము చేసితిని; లోకములోని ఘనులకు కలిగియున్న పేరువంటి పేరు నీకు కలుగజేయుదును

8. I have been with you wherever you went, I have destroyed all your enemies ahead of you; and I am making your reputation like the reputations of the greatest people on earth.

9. మరియు నేను నా జనులైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కొరకు ఒక స్థలము ఏర్పరచి వారిని నాటుదును, వారు మరి తిరుగులాడక తమ స్థానమందు కాపురముందురు, పూర్వమందు జరిగినట్లును, నా జనులైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద నేను న్యాయాధిపతులను నిర్ణయించిన కాలము మొదలుకొని జరుగుచు వచ్చినట్లును, దుష్టులు వారిని ఇక శ్రమ పెట్టకుందురు;

9. I will assign a place to my people Isra'el; I will plant them there, so that they can live in their own place without being disturbed any more. The wicked will no longer devastate them, as they did at the beginning,

10. నీ పగవారినందరిని నేను అణచి వేసెదను. అదియు గాకయెహోవా నీకు సంతతి కలుగజేయునని నేను నీకు తెలియజేసితిని.

10. and as they did from the time I ordered judges to be over my people Isra'el; instead, I will subdue all your enemies. ''Moreover, I tell you that ADONAI will make you a house.

11. నీ జీవిత దినములు తీరి నీ పితరులయొద్దకు నీవు చేరునప్పుడు నీ కుమారులవలన కలుగు నీ సంతతిని నేను స్థాపనచేసి అతని రాజ్యమును స్థిరపరచెదను.

11. When your days come to an end and you go to be with your ancestors, I will establish one of your descendants to succeed you, one of your own sons; and I will set up his rulership.

12. అతడు నాకు ఒక మందిరమును కట్టించును, అతని సింహాసనమును నేను నిత్యస్థాపన చేసెదను.

12. He will build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.

13. నేను అతనికి తండ్రినైయుందును, అతడు నాకు కుమారుడై యుండును; నీకంటె ముందుగా ఉన్నవానికి నా కృపను నేను చూపక మానినట్లు అతనికి నేను నా కృపను చూపక మానను.

13. I will be a father for him, and he will be a son for me; I will not take my grace away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.

14. నా మందిరమందును నారాజ్యమందును నేను నిత్యము అతని స్థిరపరచెదను, అతని సింహాసనము ఎన్నటికిని స్థిరముగా నుండునని అతనికి తెలియజేయుము.

14. Rather, I will maintain him in my house and in my kingdom forever; and his throne will be set up forever.''

15. నాతాను తనకు ప్రత్యక్షమైనదానిబట్టి యీ మాట లన్నిటిని దావీదునకు తెలియజేయగా

15. Natan told David all of these words and described this entire vision.

16. రాజైన దావీదు వచ్చి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని కూర్చుండి ఈలాగు మనవి చేసెనుదేవా యెహోవా, నీవు నన్ను ఇంత హెచ్చు లోనికి తెచ్చుటకు నేను ఎంతటివాడను? నా యిల్లు ఏమాత్రపుది?

16. Then David went in, sat before ADONAI and said, 'Who am I, ADONAI, God, and what is my family, that has caused you to bring me this far?

17. దేవా, యిది నీ దృష్టికి స్వల్పవిషయమే; దేవా యెహోవా, నీవు రాబోవు బహుకాలమువరకు నీ సేవకుని సంతతినిగూర్చి సెలవిచ్చి, మనుష్యునితో మను ష్యుడు మాటలాడునట్లు దయ పాలించి నాతో మాటలాడి, నా సంతతి ఘనతజెందునని మాట యిచ్చి యున్నావు.

17. Yet in your view, God, even this was but a small thing; so you have said that your servant's dynasty will continue on into the distant future. You have regarded me, ADONAI, God, as a man of high rank.

18. నీ దాసుడనగు నాకు కలుగబోవు ఘనతను గూర్చి దావీదను నీ దాసుడ నైన నేను నీతో మరి ఏమని మనవిచేసెదను? నీవు నీ దాసుని ఎరుగుదువు.

18. What more can David say to you about the honor you are bestowing on your servant? For you know your servant intimately.

19. యెహోవా నీ దాసుని నిమి త్తమే నీ చిత్తప్రకారము ఈ మహా ఘనత కలుగునని నీవు తెలియజేసియున్నావు, అతని నిమిత్తమే నీవు ఈ గొప్ప కార్యమును చేసియున్నావు.

19. ADONAI, it is for your servant's sake and in accordance with your own heart that you have done all this greatness and revealed all these great things.

20. యెహోవా, మేము మా చెవులతో వినినదంతయు నిజము, నీవంటి వాడెవడును లేడు, నీవుతప్ప మరి ఏ దేవుడును లేడు.

20. ADONAI, there is no one like you, and there is no God besides you- everything we have heard confirms that.

21. నీ జనులైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులవంటి జనము భూలోకమందు ఏది? ఐగుప్తులోనుండి నీవు విమోచించిన నీ జనులయెదుట నిలువనీయక నీవు అనేక జనములను తోలివేసినందువలన నీవు మహా భయంకరమైన పేరు తెచ్చుకొంటివి. వారు నీ స్వంత జనులగునట్లు వారిని విమోచించుటకై దేవుడవైన నీవు బయలుదేరితివి

21. Who can be compared with your people Isra'el? What other nation on earth did God set out to redeem and turn into a people for himself? You made yourself a reputation by doing great and terrifying things, as you drove out the nations from before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt.

22. నీ జనులైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నిత్యము నీకు జనులగునట్లు నీ వాలాగున చేసితివి; యెహో వావైన నీవు వారికి దేవుడవై యున్నావు

22. For you made your people Isra'el your people forever; and you, ADONAI, became their God.

23. యెహోవా, ఇప్పుడు నీ దాసునిగూర్చియు అతని సంతతిని గూర్చియు నీవు సెలవిచ్చిన మాట నిత్యము స్థిరమగును గాక.

23. So now, ADONAI, let the word that you spoke concerning your servant and his house be confirmed forever; do what you have promised.

24. ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల దేవుడైన సైన్యములకు అధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు దేవుడైయున్నాడని నీ పేరు ఎన్నటికిని ఘనపరచబడునట్లు నీవు సెలవిచ్చిన మాట నిశ్చయముగా స్థిరపరచబడును గాక; మరియు నీ దాసుడైన దావీదు సంతతి నీ యెదుట స్థిరపరచబడునుగాక.

24. May your name be confirmed and magnified forever; so that it will be said, 'ADONAI-[Tzva'ot] is the God of Isra'el and the God for Isra'el, and the dynasty of David your servant will be set up in your presence.'

25. దేవానీకు సంతతి కలుగజేసెదనని నీ దాసునికి నీవు తెలియ జేసియున్నావు గనుక నీ సన్నిధిని విన్నపము చేయుటకు నీ దాసునికి మనోధైర్యము కలిగెను.

25. For you, my God, have disclosed to your servant that you will build him a house. This is why your servant has the courage to pray to you.

26. యెహోవా, నీవు దేవుడవైయుండి నీ దాసునికి ఈ మేలు దయచేసెదనని సెలవిచ్చియున్నావు.

26. Now, ADONAI, you are God; and you have made this wonderful promise to your servant;

27. ఇప్పుడు నీ దాసుని సంతతి నిత్యము నీ సన్నిధిని ఉండునట్లుగా దానిని ఆశీర్వదింప ననుగ్రహించియున్నావు. యెహోవా, నీవు ఆశీర్వ దించినయెడల అది ఎన్నటికిని ఆశీర్వదింపబడి యుండును. ఇదియైన తరువాత దావీదు ఫిలిష్తీయులను జయించి,

27. and now it has pleased you to bless the family of your servant and thereby cause it to continue forever in your presence. For you, ADONAI, have blessed, and it is blessed forever.'
