1. The sons of Re'uven the firstborn of Isra'el- he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Yosef the son of Isra'el, though not in such a way as for him to be regarded in the genealogy as the firstborn.

2. For Y'hudah became greater than his brothers, inasmuch as the ruler came from him; nevertheless, the birthright went to Yosef.

3. So these are the sons of Re'uven the firstborn of Isra'el: Hanokh, Pallu, Hetzron and Karmi.

4. యోవేలు కుమారులలో ఒకడు షెమయా, షెమయాకు గోగు కుమారుడు, గోగునకు షిమీ కుమారుడు,

4. The descendants of Yo'el: his son Sh'ma'yah, his son Gog, his son Shim'i,

5. షిమీకి మీకా కుమారుడు, మీకాకు రెవాయా కుమారుడు, రెవాయాకు బయలు కుమారుడు,

5. his son Mikhah, his son Re'ayah, his son Ba'al,

6. బయలునకు బెయేర కుమారుడు, ఇతడు రూబేనీయులకు పెద్ద. అష్షూరు రాజైన తిగ్లత్పిలేసెరు అతని చెరతీసికొని పోయెను.

6. and his son Be'erah. Tilgat-Piln'eser king of Ashur carried him away captive; he was leader of the Re'uveni.

7. His brothers, by their clans, as listed in their genealogical records were: Ye'i'el the leader, Z'kharyah

8. యోవేలు కుమారుడైన షెమకు పుట్టిన ఆజాజు కుమారుడైన బెల యును. బెల వంశపువారు అరోయేరునందును నెబో వరకును బయల్మెయోనువరకును కాపురముండిరి.

8. and Bela the son of 'Azaz the son of Sh'ma the son of Yo'el. He lived in 'Aro'er, with territory extending to N'vo and Ba'al-M'on;

9. వారి పశువులు గిలాదుదేశమందు అతివిస్తారము కాగా తూర్పున యూఫ్రటీసునది మొదలుకొని అరణ్యపు సరిహద్దువరకును వారు కాపురముండిరి.

9. while to the east he occupied territory that extended to the beginning of the desert as one comes from the Euphrates River; because their cattle multiplied in the land of Gil'ad.

10. సౌలు దినములలో వారు హగ్రీ యీలతో యుద్ధము జరిగించి వారిని హతముచేసి గిలాదు తూర్పువైపువరకు వారి గుడారములలో కాపురముండిరి.

10. In the time of Sha'ul they went to war with the Hagri'im; after defeating them they occupied their tents throughout all the territory east of Gil'ad.

11. గాదు వంశస్థులు వారికెదురుగా బాషాను దేశమందు సల్కావరకు కాపురముండిరి.

11. The descendants of Gad lived across from them, in the territory from Bashan to Salkhah:

12. వారిలో యోవేలు తెగవారు ముఖ్యులు, రెండవ తెగవారు షాపామువారు. షాపామువారును యహనైవారును షాపాతువారును బాషానులో ఉండిరి.

12. Yo'el was the leader, Shafam second, then Yanai and Shafat in Bashan.

13. వారి పితరుల యింటివారైన వారి సహోదరులు ఏడుగురు, మిఖాయేలు మెషుల్లాము షేబయోరై యకాను జీయ ఏబెరు.

13. The houses of their fathers' brothers were: Mikha'el, Meshulam, Sheva, Yorai, Ya'kan, Zia and 'Ever- seven altogether.

14. వీరు హూరీ అనువానికి పుట్టిన అబీహాయిలు కుమారులు. ఈ హూరీ యరోయకు యారోయ గిలాదునకు గిలాదు మిఖాయేలు నకు మిఖాయేలు యెషీషైకి యెషీషై యహదోకు యహదో బూజునకు పుట్టిరి.

14. These are the sons of Avichayil the son of Huri the son of Yaroach the son of Gil'ad the son of Mikha'el the son of Yeshishai the son of Yachdo the son of Buz;

15. గూనీ కుమారుడైన అబ్దీ యేలునకు పుట్టిన అహీ వారి పితరుల యిండ్లవారికి పెద్ద.

15. Achi the son of 'Avdi'el the son of Guni was leader of their fathers' house.

16. వారు బాషానులోనున్న గిలాదునందును దాని గ్రామములయందును షారోనునకు చేరికైన ఉపగ్రామముల యందును దాని ప్రాంతములవరకు కాపురముండిరి.

16. They lived in Gil'ad, in Bashan, in its towns and in all the pasture lands of the plain as far as their borders.

17. వీరందరు యూదా రాజైన యోతాము దినములలోను ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన యరోబాము దినములలోను తమ వంశావళుల వరుసను లెక్కలో చేర్చబడిరి.

17. All these were listed in genealogies during the times of Yotam king of Y'hudah and Yarov'am king of Isra'el.

18. రూబేనీయులలోను గాదీయులలోను మనష్షే అర్ధ గోత్రమువారిలోను బల్లెమును ఖడ్గమును ధరించుటకును అంబువేయుటకును నేర్చినవారు, యుద్ధమందు నేర్పరులై దండుకు పోతగినవారు నలువది నాలుగువేల ఏడువందల అరువదిమంది యుండిరి.

18. The descendants of Re'uven, the Gadi and the half-tribe of M'nasheh included 44,760 brave men who were available for warfare, able to take up shield and sword, shoot with the bow, or make use of other war skills.

19. వీరు హగ్రీయీలతోను యెతూరువారితోను నాపీషు వారితోను నోదాబువారితోను యుద్ధముచేసిరి.

19. These made war with the Hagri'im, Y'tur, Nafish and Nodav.

20. యుద్ధమందు వారు దేవునికి మొఱ్ఱపెట్టగా, ఆయనమీద వారు నమ్మికయుంచినందున ఆయన వారి మొఱ్ఱ ఆలకించెను

20. They received help against them, so that the Hagri'im and all who were allied with them suffered defeat at their hands; because they cried out to God while they were fighting, and he did as they requested, because they put their trust in him.

21. గనుక వారిని జయించు టకు వారికి సహాయము కలిగెను. హగ్రీయీలును వారితో ఉన్నవారందరును వారిచేతికి అప్పగింపబడిరి; వారు ఏబది వేల ఒంటెలను పశువులను రెండులక్షల ఏబదివేల గొఱ్ఱెలను రెండువేల గాడిదలను లక్ష జనమును పట్టుకొనిరి.

21. From their livestock they carried off 50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep and 2,000 donkeys; they also took captive 100,000 persons.

22. యుద్ధమందు దేవుని సహాయము వారికి కలుగుటచేత శత్రువులు అనేకులు పడిపోయిరి; తాము చెరతీసికొని పోబడు వరకు రూబేనీయులును గాదీయులును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారును వీరి స్థానములయందు కాపురముండిరి.

22. Many were slaughtered, because the war was of God, and they lived in their territory until the captivity.

23. మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారును ఆ దేశమందు కాపుర ముండి వర్ధిల్లుచు, బాషాను మొదలుకొని బయల్హెర్మోను వరకును శెనీరువరకును హెర్మోను పర్వతము వరకును వ్యాపించిరి.

23. The descendants of the half-tribe of M'nasheh lived and increased in the territory from Bashan to Ba'al-Hermon, S'nir and Mount Hermon.

24. వారి పితరుల యిండ్లకు పెద్దలైనవారెవరనగా ఏఫెరు ఇషీ ఎలీయేలు అజ్రీయేలు యిర్మీయా హోదవ్యా యహదీయేలు; వీరు కీర్తిపొందిన పరాక్రమశాలులై తమ పితరుల యిండ్లకు పెద్దలైరి.

24. The leaders of their fathers' houses were: 'Efer, Yish'i, Eli'el, 'Azri'el, Yirmeyah, Hodavyah and Yachdi'el, strong, brave, famous men, leaders of their fathers' houses.

25. But they broke faith with the God of their ancestors and prostituted themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed ahead of them.

26. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడు అష్షూరు రాజైన పూలు మనస్సును అష్షూరు రాజైన తిగ్లత్పిలేసెరు మనస్సును రేపగా అతడు రూబేనీయులను గాదీయులను మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారిని చెరపట్టి నేటికిని కనబడు చున్నట్లుగా హాలహునకును హాబోరునకును హారాకును గోజాను నదీప్రాంతములకును వారిని కొనిపోయెను.

26. So the God of Isra'el stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Ashur and the spirit of Tilgat-Piln'eser king of Ashur; and he carried them away as captives- the Re'uveni, the Gadi and the half-tribe of M'nasheh- and brought them to Halach, Havor, Hara and to the Gozan River, where they are to this day.
