1. And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he [was] the firstborn; but because of his going up to his father's couch, [his father] gave his blessing to his son Joseph, [even] the son of Israel; and he was not reckoned as firstborn;

2. for Judah [was] very mighty even among his brethren, and one was to be a ruler out of him: but the blessing [was] Joseph's).

3. The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel [were] Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

4. యోవేలు కుమారులలో ఒకడు షెమయా, షెమయాకు గోగు కుమారుడు, గోగునకు షిమీ కుమారుడు,

4. The sons of Joel [were] Shemaiah, and Benaiah his son; and Gog his son, and Shimei his son.

5. షిమీకి మీకా కుమారుడు, మీకాకు రెవాయా కుమారుడు, రెవాయాకు బయలు కుమారుడు,

5. His son [was] Micah, his son Reaiah, his son Joel,

6. his son Baal, whom Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria carried away captive; he [is] the chief of the Reubenites.

7. And his brethren in his family, in their distribution according to their generations: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah.

8. యోవేలు కుమారుడైన షెమకు పుట్టిన ఆజాజు కుమారుడైన బెల యును. బెల వంశపువారు అరోయేరునందును నెబో వరకును బయల్మెయోనువరకును కాపురముండిరి.

8. And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel; he dwelt in Aroer, and even to Nebo, and Baal Meon.

9. వారి పశువులు గిలాదుదేశమందు అతివిస్తారము కాగా తూర్పున యూఫ్రటీసునది మొదలుకొని అరణ్యపు సరిహద్దువరకును వారు కాపురముండిరి.

9. And he dwelt eastward to the borders of the wilderness, from the River Euphrates; for they had much cattle in the land of Gilead.

10. సౌలు దినములలో వారు హగ్రీ యీలతో యుద్ధము జరిగించి వారిని హతముచేసి గిలాదు తూర్పువైపువరకు వారి గుడారములలో కాపురముండిరి.

10. And in the days of Saul they made war [with the Hagrites]; and they fell into their hands, all of them dwelling in their tents eastward of Gilead.

11. గాదు వంశస్థులు వారికెదురుగా బాషాను దేశమందు సల్కావరకు కాపురముండిరి.

11. The sons of Gad dwelt over against them in the land of Bashan as far as Salcah.

12. వారిలో యోవేలు తెగవారు ముఖ్యులు, రెండవ తెగవారు షాపామువారు. షాపామువారును యహనైవారును షాపాతువారును బాషానులో ఉండిరి.

12. Joel [was] the firstborn, and Shapham the second, and Jaanai the scribe in Bashan.

13. వారి పితరుల యింటివారైన వారి సహోదరులు ఏడుగురు, మిఖాయేలు మెషుల్లాము షేబయోరై యకాను జీయ ఏబెరు.

13. And their brethren according to the houses of their fathers [were:] Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jachan, Zia, and Eber, seven [in all].

14. వీరు హూరీ అనువానికి పుట్టిన అబీహాయిలు కుమారులు. ఈ హూరీ యరోయకు యారోయ గిలాదునకు గిలాదు మిఖాయేలు నకు మిఖాయేలు యెషీషైకి యెషీషై యహదోకు యహదో బూజునకు పుట్టిరి.

14. These [were] the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz,

15. [who was] the brother of the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, [he was] chief of the house of their families.

16. వారు బాషానులోనున్న గిలాదునందును దాని గ్రామములయందును షారోనునకు చేరికైన ఉపగ్రామముల యందును దాని ప్రాంతములవరకు కాపురముండిరి.

16. They dwelt in Gilead, in Bashan, and in their villages, and [in] all the country round about Sharon to the border.

17. వీరందరు యూదా రాజైన యోతాము దినములలోను ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన యరోబాము దినములలోను తమ వంశావళుల వరుసను లెక్కలో చేర్చబడిరి.

17. The numbering of [them] all took place in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18. రూబేనీయులలోను గాదీయులలోను మనష్షే అర్ధ గోత్రమువారిలోను బల్లెమును ఖడ్గమును ధరించుటకును అంబువేయుటకును నేర్చినవారు, యుద్ధమందు నేర్పరులై దండుకు పోతగినవారు నలువది నాలుగువేల ఏడువందల అరువదిమంది యుండిరి.

18. The sons of Reuben and Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of mighty men, bearing shields and sword, and bending the bow, and skilled in war, [were] forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, going forth to battle.

19. వీరు హగ్రీయీలతోను యెతూరువారితోను నాపీషు వారితోను నోదాబువారితోను యుద్ధముచేసిరి.

19. And they made war with the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab,

20. యుద్ధమందు వారు దేవునికి మొఱ్ఱపెట్టగా, ఆయనమీద వారు నమ్మికయుంచినందున ఆయన వారి మొఱ్ఱ ఆలకించెను

20. and they prevailed against them; and the Hagrites were given into their hands, [they] and all their tents, for they cried to God in the battle, and He hearkened to them, because they trusted on Him.

21. గనుక వారిని జయించు టకు వారికి సహాయము కలిగెను. హగ్రీయీలును వారితో ఉన్నవారందరును వారిచేతికి అప్పగింపబడిరి; వారు ఏబది వేల ఒంటెలను పశువులను రెండులక్షల ఏబదివేల గొఱ్ఱెలను రెండువేల గాడిదలను లక్ష జనమును పట్టుకొనిరి.

21. And they took captive their store; five thousand camels, two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand donkeys, and a hundred thousand men.

22. యుద్ధమందు దేవుని సహాయము వారికి కలుగుటచేత శత్రువులు అనేకులు పడిపోయిరి; తాము చెరతీసికొని పోబడు వరకు రూబేనీయులును గాదీయులును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారును వీరి స్థానములయందు కాపురముండిరి.

22. For many fell slain, because the war [was] of God. And they dwelt in their place until the captivity.

23. మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారును ఆ దేశమందు కాపుర ముండి వర్ధిల్లుచు, బాషాను మొదలుకొని బయల్హెర్మోను వరకును శెనీరువరకును హెర్మోను పర్వతము వరకును వ్యాపించిరి.

23. And the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt from Bashan to Baal, Hermon and Senir, and [to] Mount Hermon; and they increased in Lebanon.

24. వారి పితరుల యిండ్లకు పెద్దలైనవారెవరనగా ఏఫెరు ఇషీ ఎలీయేలు అజ్రీయేలు యిర్మీయా హోదవ్యా యహదీయేలు; వీరు కీర్తిపొందిన పరాక్రమశాలులై తమ పితరుల యిండ్లకు పెద్దలైరి.

24. And these were the heads of the houses of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, men of renown, heads of the houses of their families.

25. అయితే వారు తమ పితరుల దేవునిమీద తిరుగుబాటుచేసి, దేవుడు తమ ముందర నాశనము చేసిన జనసమూహముల దేవతలతో వ్యభిచరించిరి.

25. But they rebelled against the God of their fathers, and went a-whoring after the gods of the nations of the land, whom God had cast out from before them.

26. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడు అష్షూరు రాజైన పూలు మనస్సును అష్షూరు రాజైన తిగ్లత్పిలేసెరు మనస్సును రేపగా అతడు రూబేనీయులను గాదీయులను మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారిని చెరపట్టి నేటికిని కనబడు చున్నట్లుగా హాలహునకును హాబోరునకును హారాకును గోజాను నదీప్రాంతములకును వారిని కొనిపోయెను.

26. And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and carried away Reuben and Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, and to the river of Gozan, until this day.
