1. రెహబాము యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు ఇశ్రా యేలువారితో యుద్ధము చేయుటకును, రాజ్యమును తనకు మరల రప్పించుకొనుటకును అతడు యూదావారిలో నుండియు బెన్యామీనీయులలోనుండియు ఏర్పరచబడిన యుద్ధ శాలులను లక్ష యెనుబది వేలమందిని సమకూర్చగా

1. And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.

2. దైవజనుడైన షెమయాకు యెహోవా వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

2. But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

3. నీవు యూదారాజును సొలొమోను కుమారుడునగు రెహబాముతోను, యూదా యందును బెన్యామీనీయుల ప్రదేశమందును ఉండు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారందరితోను ఈ మాట ప్రకటించుము

3. Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,

4. ఈ కార్యము నావలన జరుగుచున్నదని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు గనుక, బయలుదేరకుండను మీ సహో దరులతో యుద్ధము చేయకుండను మీరందరును మీ మీ యిండ్లకు తిరిగి పోవుడి అని చెప్పెను. కావున వారు యెహోవా మాటలు విని యరొబాముతో యుద్ధము చేయుట మాని వెళ్లిపోయిరి.

4. Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.

5. రెహబాము యెరూషలేమునందు కాపురముండి యూదా ప్రదేశమందు ప్రాకారపురములను కట్టించెను.

5. And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.

6. అతడు బేత్లెహేము, ఏతాము, తెకోవ, బేత్సూరు,

6. Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

7. శోకో, అదుల్లాము, గాతు,

7. And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,

8. మారేషా, జీపు, అదోర యీము,

8. And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,

9. లాకీషు, అజేకా,

9. And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

10. జొర్యా, అయ్యాలోను, హెబ్రోను అను యూదా బెన్యామీను ప్రదేశము లందుండు ప్రాకారపురములను కట్టించి

10. And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.

11. దుర్గములను బల పరచి, వాటిలో అధిపతులను ఉంచి, ఆహారమును నూనెను ద్రాక్షారసమును సమకూర్చెను.

11. And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.

12. మరియు వాటిలో డాళ్లను బల్లెములను ఉంచి ఆ పట్టణములను బహు బలవంత మైన వాటిగా చేసెను. యూదావారును బెన్యామీనీయులును అతని పక్షముననుండిరి.

12. And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.

13. ఇశ్రాయేలువారి మధ్యనుండు యాజకులును లేవీ యులును తామున్న ప్రదేశముల సరిహద్దులను దాటి అతని యొద్దకు వచ్చి చేరిరి.

13. And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.

14. యరొబామును అతని కుమారులును యెహోవాకు యాజకసేవ జరుగకుండ లేవీయులను త్రోసి వేయగా, వారు తమ గ్రామములను స్వాస్థ్యములను విడచి, యూదా దేశమునకును యెరూషలేమునకును వచ్చిరి.

14. For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.

15. యరొబాము బలిపీఠములకును దయ్యములకును తాను చేయించిన దూడలకును యాజకులను ఏర్పరచుకొనెను.

15. And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.

16. వారి చర్యలట్లుండగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములయం దంతటను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాను వెదకుటకు మనస్సు నిలుపుకొనినవారు తమ పితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు బలుల నర్పించుటకై యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చిరి.

16. And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.

17. దావీదును సొలొమోనును నడచిన మార్గమందు మూడు సంవత్సరములు వారు నడచి, యూదా రాజ్యమును బలపరచి మూడు సంవత్సరములు సొలొమోను కుమారుడైన రెహబామునకు సహాయకులైరి.

17. So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.

18. రెహబాము, దావీదు కుమారుడైన యెరీమోతు కుమార్తె యగు మహలతును యెష్షయి కుమారుడైన ఏలీయాబు కుమార్తెయగు అబీహాయిలును వివాహము చేసికొనెమ.

18. And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,

19. అతనికి యూషు షెమర్యా జహము అను కుమారులు కలిగిరి.

19. Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.

20. పిమ్మట అతడు అబ్షాలోము కుమార్తెయైన మయ కాను వివాహము చేసికొనగా ఆమె అతనికి అబీయాను అత్తయిని జీజాను షెలోమీతును కనెను.

20. And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.

21. రెహబాము పదునెనిమిదిమంది భార్యలను పెండ్లిచేసికొని అరువదిమంది ఉపపత్నులను తెచ్చుకొని యిరువది యెనిమిదిమంది కుమా రులను అరువదిమంది కుమార్తెలను కనెను; అయితే తన భార్యలందరికంటెను ఉపపత్ను లందరికంటెను అబ్షా లోము కుమార్తెయైన మయకాను అతడు ఎక్కువగా ప్రేమించెను.

21. And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.

22. రెహబాము మయకాకు పుట్టిన కుమారుడైన అబీయాను రాజును చేయతలచి, అతని సహోదరులమీద ప్రధానునిగాను అధిపతినిగాను అతని నియమించెను.

22. And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.

23. అతడు మంచి మెలకువగలవాడై తన కుమారులలో శేషించిన వారిని యూదా బెన్యామీను సంబంధములైన ఆయా ప్రదేశములలోని ఆయా ప్రాకారపురములయందు అధి పతులుగా నియమించి వారికి విస్తారమైన సొత్తు ఇచ్చి వారికి పెండ్లిండ్లు చేసెను.

23. And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
