1. ఆ కాలమున దేవుని ఆత్మ ఓదేదు కుమారుడైన అజర్యామీదికి రాగా అతడు ఆసాను ఎదుర్కొనబోయి యీలాగు ప్రకటించెను

1. Now, as for Azariah son of Oded, there came upon him, the spirit of God.

2. ఆసా, యూదావారలారా, బెన్యామీనీయులారా, మీరందరు నా మాట వినుడి. మీరు యెహోవా పక్షపువారైనయెడల ఆయన మీ పక్షమున నుండును; మీరు ఆయనయొద్ద విచారణచేసినయెడల ఆయన మీకు ప్రత్యక్షమగును; మీరు ఆయనను విసర్జిం చినయెడల ఆయన మిమ్మును విసర్జించును,

2. So he went forth to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear me, O Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin, Yahweh, is with you, so long as ye are with him, and, if ye seek him, he will be found of you, but, if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

3. నిజమైన దేవుడైనను ఉపదేశముచేయు యాజకులైనను, ధర్మశాస్త్ర మైనను చాలా దినములు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు లేకుండ పోవును.

3. Now, many days, had Israel been, without the faithful God, and without a teaching priest, and without the law;

4. తమ శ్రమయందు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా యొద్దకు మళ్లుకొని ఆయనను వెదకి నపుడు ఆయన వారికి ప్రత్యక్షమాయెను.

4. But they turned, in their distress, unto Yahweh God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found of them.

5. ఆ కాలములలో దేశముల కాపురస్థులందరిలోను గొప్ప కల్లోలములు కలిగెను గనుక తమ పనిపాటలను చక్క పెట్టుకొనుటకై తిరుగువారికి సమాధానము లేకుండెను.

5. And, in those times, there had been no prosperity, to him that went out nor to him that came in, for, great consternations, were upon all the inhabitants of the lands;

6. దేవుడు జనము లను సకలవిధములైన బాధలతో శ్రమపరచెను గనుక జనము జనమును, పట్టణము పట్టణమును, పాడు చేసెను.

6. and they were beaten in pieces-nation against nation, and city against city, for, God, discomfited them with all manner of distress.

7. కాగా మీరు బలహీనులు కాక ధైర్యము వహించుడి, మీ కార్యము సఫలమగును.

7. Ye, therefore, be strong, and let not your hands be slack, for there is a reward for your work!

8. ప్రవక్తయైన ఓదేదు ప్రవచించిన యీ మాటలు ఆసా వినినప్పుడు అతడు ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని యూదా బెన్యా మీనీయుల దేశమంతటినుండియు, ఎఫ్రాయిము మన్యములో తాను పట్టుకొనిన పట్టణములలోనుండియు హేయములైన విగ్రహములన్నిటిని తీసి వేసి, యెహోవా మంటపము ఎదుటనుండు యెహోవా బలిపీఠమును మరల కట్టించి

8. And, when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he strengthened himself, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had captured out of the hill country of Ephraim, and renewed the altar of Yahweh, that was before the porch of Yahweh.

9. యూదా వారినందరిని బెన్యామీనీయుల నందరిని, ఎఫ్రాయిము మనష్షే షిమ్యోను గోత్రస్థానము లలోనుండి వచ్చి వారిమధ్య నివసించు పరదేశులను సమకూర్చెను. అతని దేవు డైన యెహోవా అతనికి సహా యుడై యుండుట చూచి ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలోనుండి విస్తారమైన జనులు అతని పక్షము చేరిరి.

9. And he gathered together all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them, out of Ephraim and out of Manasseh, and out of Simeon, for they fell unto him out of Israel, in great numbers, because they saw that, Yahweh his God, was with him.

10. ఆసా యేలు బడియందు పదునైదవ సంవత్సరమున మూడవ నెలను వారు యెరూషలేములో కూడి

10. So they gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem, in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

11. తాము తీసికొనివచ్చిన కొల్లసొమ్ము లోనుండి ఆ దినమున ఏడువందల యెద్దులను ఏడు వేల గొఱ్ఱెలను యెహోవాకు బలులుగా అర్పించి

11. And they sacrificed unto Yahweh, on that day, out of the spoil they had brought in, oxen, seven hundred, and sheep, seven thousand.

12. పూర్ణహృదయముతోను పూర్ణాత్మతోను తమ పితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాయొద్ద తాము విచారణచేయుదు మనియు

12. And they entered into a covenant, to seek Yahweh, God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul;

13. పిన్నలేగాని పెద్దలేగాని పురుషులేగాని స్త్రీలే గాని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేయనివారికందరికిని మరణము విధించుదుమనియు నిష్కర్షచేసికొనిరి.

13. and, whosoever would not seek unto Yahweh God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

14. వారు ఎలుగెత్తి బొబ్బలిడుచు, మేళములతోను బూరల నాదముతోను భేరీధ్వనులతోను యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ప్రమాణము చేసిరి.

14. So they bound themselves by oath unto Yahweh, with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets and with horns.

15. ఈలాగు ప్రమాణము చేయబడగా యూదావారందరును సంతో షించిరి; వారు పూర్ణహృదయముతో ప్రమాణముచేసి పూర్ణమనస్సుతో ఆయనను వెదకియుండిరి గనుక యెహోవా వారికి ప్రత్యక్షమై చుట్టునున్న దేశస్థులతో యుద్ధములు లేకుండ వారికి నెమ్మది కలుగజేసెను.

15. And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for, with all their heart, had they sworn, and, with all their good will, had they sought him, and he was found of them, and Yahweh gave them rest round about.

16. మరియు తన తల్లియైన మయకా అసహ్యమైన యొక దేవతా స్తంభమును నిలిపినందున ఆమె యిక పట్టపుదేవియై యుండకుండ రాజైన ఆసా ఆమెను త్రోసివేసి, ఆమె నిలిపిన విగ్రహమును పడగొట్టి ఛిన్నాభిన్నము చేసి కిద్రోను వాగుదగ్గర దాని కాల్చివేసెను.

16. Moreover also, as touching Maacah mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made, unto the Sacred Stem, a monstrous thing, so Asa cut down her monstrous thing, and reduced it to dust, and burnt it up, in the Kidron ravine.

17. ఆసా ఉన్నత స్థలములను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలోనుండి తీసివేయలేదు గాని యితడు బ్రదికిన కాలమంతయు ఇతని హృదయము యథార్థముగా ఉండెను.

17. But, the high places, were not taken away out of Israel, only, the heart of Asa, was perfect, all his days.

18. తన తండ్రి ప్రతిష్ఠించి నట్టియు, తాను ప్రతిష్ఠించినట్టియు వెండిని బంగారమును ఉపకరణములను అతడు తీసికొని దేవుని మందిరమునం దుంచెను.

18. And he brought the hallowed things of his father and his own hallowed things, into the house of God, silver and gold, and utensils.

19. ఆసా యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది యయిదవ సంవత్సరమువరకు యుద్ధములు జరుగలేదు.

19. And, war, was there none, until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa.
