1. ఆసా యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది ఆరవ సంవత్సర మున ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయెషా యూదావారిమీద దండెత్తి బయలుదేరి యూదా రాజైన ఆసాయొద్దకు రాక పోకలు జరుగకుండునట్లు రామాను కట్టింపగా

1. In the thirty-sixth year of Asa's reign, Ba'asha king of Isra'el attacked Y'hudah, and he fortified Ramah to prevent anyone's leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Y'hudah.

2. ఆసా యెహోవా మందిరమందును రాజనగరునందును ఉన్న బొక్కసములలోని వెండి బంగారములను తీసి, దమస్కులో నివాసముచేయు సిరియా రాజగు బెన్హదదు నొద్దకు దూతలచేత పంపించి

2. Then Asa removed silver and gold from the treasures of the house of ADONAI and the royal palace; and sent this message to Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who lived in Dammesek:

3. నా తండ్రికిని నీ తండ్రికిని కలిగియున్నట్లు నాకును నీకును సంధి కలిగియున్నది, వెండిని బంగారమును నీకు పంపి యున్నాను, ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయెషా నన్ను విడిచి ఆవలికి పోవునట్లుగా నీవు అతనితో చేసియున్న సంధిని భంగము చేయుమని వర్తమానము చేసెను.

3. There is a covenant between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Here, I am sending you silver and gold; go, and break your covenant with Ba'asha king of Isra'el, so that he wier='5'> Now Sh'ma'yah the propheERS vnumber='4'> Ben-Hadad did as King Asa had asked- he sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Isra'el, attacking 'Iyon, Dan, Avel-Mayim and all the storage-cities of Naftali.

5. బయెషా అది విని రామాను ప్రాకారములతో కట్టించుట మానివేసి తాను చేయు చున్న పని చాలించెను.

5. As soon as Ba'asha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah and abandoned his work.

6. అప్పుడు రాజైన ఆసా యూదా వారినందరిని సమకూర్చెను; వీరు పోయి బయెషా కట్టించు చుండిన రామాపట్టణపు రాళ్లను దూలములను తీసికొని వచ్చిరి, వాటితో ఆసా గెబను మిస్పాను ప్రాకార పురములుగా కట్టించెను.

6. Asa the king took all Y'hudah and carried off the stones and timber which Ba'asha had used to fortify Ramah. With them he fortified Geva and Mitzpah.

7. ఆ కాలమందు దీర్ఘదర్శియైన హనానీ యూదా రాజైన ఆసాయొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో ఈలాగు ప్రకటించెనునీవు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నమ్ముకొ నక సిరియా రాజును నమ్ముకొంటివే? సిరియా రాజుయొక్క సైన్యము నీ వశము నుండి తప్పించుకొనిపోయెను.

7. It was around then that Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Y'hudah and said to him, 'Because you relied on the king of Aram and didn't rely on ADONAI your God, the king of Aram's army has escaped from your power.

8. బహు విస్తారమైన రథము లును గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులునుగల కూషీయులును లూబీయులును గొప్ప దండై వచ్చిరిగదా? అయినను నీవు యెహోవాను నమ్ముకొనినందున ఆయన వారిని నీచేతి కప్పగించెను.

8. The army of the Ethiopians and Luvim was huge, wasn't it? How many chariots and horsemen did they have? Yet because you relied on ADONAI, he handed them over to you.

9. తనయెడల యథార్థహృదయముగలవారిని బలపరచుటకై యెహోవా కనుదృష్టి లోకమందంతట సంచారము చేయుచున్నది; యీ విషయమందు నీవు మతి తప్పి ప్రవర్తించితివి గనుక ఇది మొదలుకొని నీకు యుద్ధములే కలుగును.

9. For the eyes of ADONAI move here and there throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those who are wholehearted toward him. You acted foolishly in this regard; for from now on, you will have war.'

10. ఆ దీర్ఘదర్శి అట్లు ప్రకటించినందుకు ఆసా అతనిమీద కోపగించి రౌద్రము చూపి అతనిని బందీగృహ ములో వేసెను, ఇదియు గాక ఆ సమయమందే ఆసా జనులలో కొందరిని బాధపరచెను.

10. But Asa became angry at the seer; in fact, because of his rage at him over this matter he threw him in prison. Moreover, at the same time, he mistreated some of the people.

11. ఆసా చేసిన కార్యము లన్నిటినిగూర్చి యూదా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

11. The activities of Asa from beginning to end are recorded in the Annals of the Kings of Y'hudah and Isra'el.

12. ఆసా తన యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది తొమ్మిదవ సంవత్సరమున పాదములలో జబ్బుపుట్టి తాను బహు బాధపడినను దాని విషయములో అతడు యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయక వైద్యులను పట్టుకొనెను.

12. In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa suffered from a disease in his legs. It was a very serious disease, yet even with this disease he did not seek out ADONAI but turned to the physicians.

13. ఆసా తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి తన యేలుబడియందు నలువది యొకటవ సంవత్సరమున మృతి నొందగా

13. Asa slept with his ancestors, dying in the forty-first year of his reign.

14. అత్తరు పనివారిచేత సిద్ధము చేయబడిన సుగంధ వర్గములతోను పరిమళద్రవ్యములతోను నిండిన పడకమీద జనులు అతని ఉంచి, అతని నిమిత్తము బహు విస్తారమైన గంధవర్గములను దహించి, దావీదు పట్టణమందు అతడు తన కొరకై తొలిపించు కొనిన సమాధియందు అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి.

14. They buried him in his own burial cave, which he had ordered cut for himself in the City of David. They laid him in a bed filled with sweet spices of various kinds, expertly compounded; and a very great fire was kindled in his honor.
