1. ఆసా యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది ఆరవ సంవత్సర మున ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయెషా యూదావారిమీద దండెత్తి బయలుదేరి యూదా రాజైన ఆసాయొద్దకు రాక పోకలు జరుగకుండునట్లు రామాను కట్టింపగా

1. In the thirty sixth year of the reign of Asa, came Baasa king of Israel against Juda and built Ramah, to the intent that he would let none that pertained to Asa king of Juda, have passage in and out.

2. ఆసా యెహోవా మందిరమందును రాజనగరునందును ఉన్న బొక్కసములలోని వెండి బంగారములను తీసి, దమస్కులో నివాసముచేయు సిరియా రాజగు బెన్హదదు నొద్దకు దూతలచేత పంపించి

2. Whereupon Asa fetched out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent it to Benhadad king of Siria, that dwelt at Damasco, and said:

3. నా తండ్రికిని నీ తండ్రికిని కలిగియున్నట్లు నాకును నీకును సంధి కలిగియున్నది, వెండిని బంగారమును నీకు పంపి యున్నాను, ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయెషా నన్ను విడిచి ఆవలికి పోవునట్లుగా నీవు అతనితో చేసియున్న సంధిని భంగము చేయుమని వర్తమానము చేసెను.

3. There is a confederation between me and thee, and so was between my father and thine, wherefore I have sent thee silver and gold, that thou go and break thine appointment with Baasa king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

4. బెన్హదదు రాజైన ఆసా మాట అంగీ కరించి, తన సైన్యముల అధిపతులను ఇశ్రాయేలువారి పట్టణములమీదికి పంపగా వీరు ఈయోనును దానును ఆబేల్మాయీమును నఫ్తాలి ప్రదేశమునకు చేరిన పట్టణముల లోని కొట్లను కొల్లపెట్టిరి.

4. And Benhadad granted unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his army against the cities of Israel. And they beat Aion, Dan, Abelmaim and all the store cities of Nephthali.

5. బయెషా అది విని రామాను ప్రాకారములతో కట్టించుట మానివేసి తాను చేయు చున్న పని చాలించెను.

5. And when Baasa heard that, he left building of Ramah and let his work cease.

6. అప్పుడు రాజైన ఆసా యూదా వారినందరిని సమకూర్చెను; వీరు పోయి బయెషా కట్టించు చుండిన రామాపట్టణపు రాళ్లను దూలములను తీసికొని వచ్చిరి, వాటితో ఆసా గెబను మిస్పాను ప్రాకార పురములుగా కట్టించెను.

6. And then Asa the king took all Juda and carried away and stones and timber of Ramah wherewith Baasa was abuilding: and he built therewith Gabaa and Mazphah.

7. ఆ కాలమందు దీర్ఘదర్శియైన హనానీ యూదా రాజైన ఆసాయొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో ఈలాగు ప్రకటించెనునీవు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నమ్ముకొ నక సిరియా రాజును నమ్ముకొంటివే? సిరియా రాజుయొక్క సైన్యము నీ వశము నుండి తప్పించుకొనిపోయెను.

7. At that same time Hanani the sear, came to Asa king of Juda and said to him: because thou trustedest in the king of Siria, and trustest not in the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Siria escaped out of thine hand.

8. బహు విస్తారమైన రథము లును గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులునుగల కూషీయులును లూబీయులును గొప్ప దండై వచ్చిరిగదా? అయినను నీవు యెహోవాను నమ్ముకొనినందున ఆయన వారిని నీచేతి కప్పగించెను.

8. Were not the black Moors and they of Libia a great host with exceeding many chariots and horsemen? And yet because thou trustedest in the LORD, he delivered them into thine hands.

9. తనయెడల యథార్థహృదయముగలవారిని బలపరచుటకై యెహోవా కనుదృష్టి లోకమందంతట సంచారము చేయుచున్నది; యీ విషయమందు నీవు మతి తప్పి ప్రవర్తించితివి గనుక ఇది మొదలుకొని నీకు యుద్ధములే కలుగును.

9. For the eyes of the LORD behold all the earth, to strength the hearts of them that are whole with him. Herein thou hast done foolishly, and therefore from henceforth thou shalt have war.

10. ఆ దీర్ఘదర్శి అట్లు ప్రకటించినందుకు ఆసా అతనిమీద కోపగించి రౌద్రము చూపి అతనిని బందీగృహ ములో వేసెను, ఇదియు గాక ఆ సమయమందే ఆసా జనులలో కొందరిని బాధపరచెను.

10. Whereupon Asa was wroth with the sear and put him in the converting house, for he was displeased with him because of that. Moreover Asa oppressed certain of the people the same season.

11. ఆసా చేసిన కార్యము లన్నిటినిగూర్చి యూదా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

11. The deeds of Asa both first and last, are written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.

12. ఆసా తన యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది తొమ్మిదవ సంవత్సరమున పాదములలో జబ్బుపుట్టి తాను బహు బాధపడినను దాని విషయములో అతడు యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయక వైద్యులను పట్టుకొనెను.

12. And the thirty ninth year of his reign Asa fell sick of his feet, and that his disease exceeded. And thereto in his sickness he asked no counsel of the LORD, but of Physicians.

13. ఆసా తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి తన యేలుబడియందు నలువది యొకటవ సంవత్సరమున మృతి నొందగా

13. And at the last Asa fell on sleep with his fathers and died when he had reigned fifty one year.

14. అత్తరు పనివారిచేత సిద్ధము చేయబడిన సుగంధ వర్గములతోను పరిమళద్రవ్యములతోను నిండిన పడకమీద జనులు అతని ఉంచి, అతని నిమిత్తము బహు విస్తారమైన గంధవర్గములను దహించి, దావీదు పట్టణమందు అతడు తన కొరకై తొలిపించు కొనిన సమాధియందు అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి.

14. And they buried him in his own sepulchre which he had made in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which he had filled with sweet odours of divers kinds, made by the craft of the apothecaries. And they did exceeding great cost about burying of him.
