1. తనకు ఐశ్వర్యమును ఘనతయు అధికముగా కలిగిన తరువాత యెహోషాపాతు అహాబుతో వియ్యమంది

1. And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.

2. కొన్ని సంవత్సరములు గతించినమీదట షోమ్రోనులో నుండు అహాబునొద్దకు పోయెను; అహాబు అతని కొరకును అతని వెంటవచ్చిన జనులకొరకును అనేక మైన గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను కోయించి, తనతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికిపోవుటకు అతని ప్రేరేపించెను.

2. And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.

3. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతును చూచినీవు నాతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదునకు వచ్చెదవా అని అడుగగా యెహోషాపాతునేను నీవాడను, నా జనులు నీ జనులు, మేము నీతో కూడ యుధ్దమునకు వచ్చెద మని చెప్పెను.

3. And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.

4. మరియు యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతోనేడు యెహోవాయొద్ద సంగతి విచారణ చేయుదము రండనగా

4. And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.

5. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు నాలుగువందల మంది ప్రవక్తలను సమకూర్చినేను రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి యుద్ధమునకు పోవుదునా మానుదునా అని వారి నడిగెను. అందుకువారుపొమ్ము, దేవుడు రాజు చేతికి దానినప్పగించు నని చెప్పిరి.

5. Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.

6. అయితే యెహోషాపాతుమనము అడిగి విచారణ చేయుటకై వీరు తప్ప యెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇచ్చట లేడా? అని యడుగగా

6. But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?

7. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుయెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకు ఇవ్లూ కుమా రుడైన మీకాయా అను ఒకడు ఇచ్చట ఉన్నాడు; అయితే అతడు నన్నుగూర్చి మేలు ప్రవచింపక నిత్యము కీడునే ప్రవచించుచున్నాడు గనుక నేను వానియందు పగ గలిగియున్నాననగా యెహోషాపాతురాజు ఆలా గనవద్దనెను.

7. And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.

8. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు తన పరివార ములోనున్న యొకని పిలిపించిఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకా యాను శీఘ్రముగా రప్పించుమని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

8. And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.

9. ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషాపాతును షోమ్రోను ఊరు గవిని ముందరి బయలునందు తమ తమ వస్త్రములను ధరించుకొని తమ తమ సింహాసనములమీద కూర్చునియుండగా ప్రవక్తలందరును వారి ముందర ప్రవచించుచుండిరి.

9. And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.

10. అప్పుడు కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా యినుపకొమ్ములు చేయించుకొనివచ్చిసిరియనులు నిర్మూల మగు వరకు వీటితో వారిని నీవు పొడిచెదవని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడని ప్రకటించెను.

10. And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.

11. ప్రవక్తలందరును ఆ ప్రకారముగానే ప్రవచించుచుయెహోవా రామోత్గిలాదును రాజు చేతికి అప్పగించును, దానిమీదికిపోయి జయమొందుము అనిరి.

11. And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.

12. మీకాయాను పిలుచుటకు పోయిన దూత అతని కనుగొనిప్రవక్తలు రాజు విషయమై యేక ముఖముగా మేలునే పలుకుచున్నారు, దయచేసి నీమాటను వారి మాటలకు అనుకూలపరచి మేలునే ప్రవచింపుమనగా

12. And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.

13. మీకాయాయెహోవా జీవముతోడు నా దేవుడు సెలవిచ్చునదేదో దానినే ప్రవచింతునని చెప్పెను.

13. And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.

14. అతడు రాజునొద్దకు రాగా రాజు అతని చూచిమీకాయా, యుద్ధమునకు రామోత్గిలాదునకు మేము పోవుదుమా, మానుదుమా అని యడుగగా అతడుపోయి జయించుడి, వారు మీ చేతికి అప్పగింపబడుదురనెను.

14. So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.

15. అప్పుడు రాజుయెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి అబద్ధముకాక సత్యమే పలుకుమని నేను ఎన్ని మారులు నీచేత ఒట్టు పెట్టించుకొందునని అతనితో అనగా

15. And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?

16. అతడుకాపరిలేని గొఱ్ఱెలవలెనే ఇశ్రాయేలు వారందరును పర్వతములమీద చెదరిపోవుట చూచితిని; వీరికి యజమానుడు లేడనియు, వీరిలో ప్రతివాడు తన తన యింటికి సమాధానముగా పోవలెననియు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడనెను.

16. Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.

17. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు ఇది విని యెహోషాపాతుతో ఇట్లనెనుఇతడు కీడునేగాని నా విషయమై మేలును ప్రవచింపడని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా అని యనగా

17. And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?

18. మీకాయాయెహోవా మాట వినుడి, యెహోవా తన సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడైయుండుటయు, పరమండల సైన్యమంతయు ఆయన కుడిప్రక్కను ఎడమప్రక్కను నిలువబడుటయు నేను చూచితిని.

18. Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.

19. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి పడిపోవునట్లు ఎవడు అతని ప్రేరే పించునని యెహోవా అడుగగా, ఒకడు ఈ విధముగాను ఇంకొకడు ఆ విధముగాను ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

19. And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.

20. అప్పుడు ఒక ఆత్మవచ్చి యెహోవాయెదుట నిలువబడినేను అతని ప్రేరేపించెదనని చెప్పగా యెహోవాదేనిచేతనని అతని నడిగెను.

20. Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?

21. అందుకు ఆ యాత్మనేను బయలుదేరి అతని ప్రవక్తలందరి నోటను అబద్ధములాడు ఆత్మగా ఉందునని చెప్పగా యెహోవా నీవు అతనిని ప్రేరేపించి జయింతువు, పోయి ఆ ప్రకారముగా చేయుమని సెలవిచ్చెను.

21. And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.

22. యెహోవా నీ ప్రవక్తలగు వీరినోట అబద్ధములాడు ఆత్మను ఉంచియున్నాడు, యెహోవా నీమీద కీడు పలికించి యున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

22. Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.

23. అప్పుడు కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా దగ్గరకు వచ్చి మీకాయాను చెంపమీద కొట్టినీతో మాటలాడుటకు యెహోవా ఆత్మ నాయొద్దనుండి ఏ మార్గమున పోయె ననెను.

23. Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?

24. అందుకు మీకాయాదాగుటకై నీవు లోపలి గదిలోనికి వెళ్లు దినమున దాని తెలిసికొందువని చెప్పెను.

24. And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.

25. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుపట్టణపు అధిపతియైన ఆమోనునొద్దకును రాజు కుమారుడైన యోవాషునొద్దకునుమీరు మీకాయాను తీసికొని పోయి వారితో రాజు మీకిచ్చిన సెలవు ఇదియే యనుడి,

25. And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,

26. నేను సురక్షితముగా తిరిగి వచ్చువరకు వీనిని చెరలోపెట్టి క్లేషాన్నపానములు ఇయ్యుడి.

26. And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.

27. అప్పుడు మీకాయా యిట్లనెనునీవు సురక్షితముగా తిరిగి వచ్చిన యెడల యెహోవా నా ద్వారా పలుకనే లేదనిచెప్పి, సమస్తజనులారా ఆల కించుడనెను.

27. And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.

28. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతును రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయిరి.

28. So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.

29. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునేను మారువేషమువేసికొని యుద్ధము నకు పోవుదును, నీవు నీ వస్త్రములనే ధరించుకొనుమని యెహోషాపాతుతో చెప్పి తాను మారువేషము వేసికొనెను, తరువాత వారు యుద్ధమునకు పోయిరి.

29. And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.

30. సిరియా రాజుమీరు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతోనే యుద్ధము చేయుడి, అధములతోనైనను అధికులతో నైనను చేయవద్దని తనతో కూడనున్న తన రథాధిపతులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియుండెను.

30. And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.

31. కాగా యెహోషాపాతు కనబడుటతోనే రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజనుకొని యుద్ధము చేయుటకు అతని చుట్టుకొనిరి, గాని యెహోషాపాతు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినందున యెహోవా అతనికి సహాయము చేసెను, దేవుడు అతని యొద్దనుండి వారు తొలగిపోవునట్లు చేసెను.

31. And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.

32. ఎట్లనగా రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకాడని తెలిసికొని అతని తరుముట మాని తిరిగిపోయిరి.

32. For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.

33. అప్పుడు ఒకడు గురిచూడకయే తన వింటిని ఎక్కుబెట్టి, ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును అతని కవచపు బందులసందున కొట్టగా అతడునాకు గాయము తగిలినది, నీ చెయ్యి త్రిప్పి దండులోనుండి నన్ను కొనిపొమ్మని తన సారధితో అనెను.

33. Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.

34. ఆ దినమున యుద్ధము ప్రబలమాయెను; అయినను ఇశ్రా యేలురాజు అస్తమయమువరకు సిరియనులకెదురుగా తన రథమునందు నిలిచెను, ప్రొద్దుగ్రుంకువేళ అతడు చనిపోయెను.

34. And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
