1. Now Jehoshaphat had great riches and honor. And by a marriage he was joined with Ahab.

2. కొన్ని సంవత్సరములు గతించినమీదట షోమ్రోనులో నుండు అహాబునొద్దకు పోయెను; అహాబు అతని కొరకును అతని వెంటవచ్చిన జనులకొరకును అనేక మైన గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను కోయించి, తనతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికిపోవుటకు అతని ప్రేరేపించెను.

2. After some years he went down to visit Ahab at Samaria. Ahab killed many sheep and cattle for him and for the people who were with him. And he wanted Jehoshaphat to fight against Ramoth-gilead.

3. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతును చూచినీవు నాతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదునకు వచ్చెదవా అని అడుగగా యెహోషాపాతునేను నీవాడను, నా జనులు నీ జనులు, మేము నీతో కూడ యుధ్దమునకు వచ్చెద మని చెప్పెను.

3. King Ahab of Israel said to King Jehoshaphat of Judah, 'Will you go with me against Ramoth-gilead?' He answered, 'I am as you are. And my people are as your people. We will be with you in the battle.'

4. మరియు యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతోనేడు యెహోవాయొద్ద సంగతి విచారణ చేయుదము రండనగా

4. Then Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, 'Ask first for word from the Lord.'

5. So the king of Israel gathered together the 400 men who told what would happen in the future. He said to them, 'Should we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or should I wait?' And they said, 'Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king.'

6. అయితే యెహోషాపాతుమనము అడిగి విచారణ చేయుటకై వీరు తప్ప యెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇచ్చట లేడా? అని యడుగగా

6. But Jehoshaphat said, 'Is there not another man who speaks for the Lord here whom we may ask?'

7. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుయెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకు ఇవ్లూ కుమా రుడైన మీకాయా అను ఒకడు ఇచ్చట ఉన్నాడు; అయితే అతడు నన్నుగూర్చి మేలు ప్రవచింపక నిత్యము కీడునే ప్రవచించుచున్నాడు గనుక నేను వానియందు పగ గలిగియున్నాననగా యెహోషాపాతురాజు ఆలా గనవద్దనెను.

7. The king of Israel said to him, 'There is yet one man whom we may ask of the Lord. But I hate him. For he never tells me anything good, only bad. He is Micaiah, the son of Imla.' But Jehoshaphat said, 'You should not say that.'

8. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు తన పరివార ములోనున్న యొకని పిలిపించిఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకా యాను శీఘ్రముగా రప్పించుమని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

8. Then the king of Israel called for one of his captains and said, 'Hurry, bring Micaiah the son of Imla.'

9. ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషాపాతును షోమ్రోను ఊరు గవిని ముందరి బయలునందు తమ తమ వస్త్రములను ధరించుకొని తమ తమ సింహాసనములమీద కూర్చునియుండగా ప్రవక్తలందరును వారి ముందర ప్రవచించుచుండిరి.

9. The king of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah were each sitting on his throne, dressed in king's clothing. They were sitting at the grain-floor at the gate of Samaria. All the men who told what would happen in the future were speaking in front of them.

10. అప్పుడు కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా యినుపకొమ్ములు చేయించుకొనివచ్చిసిరియనులు నిర్మూల మగు వరకు వీటితో వారిని నీవు పొడిచెదవని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడని ప్రకటించెను.

10. Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made horns of iron for himself and said, 'The Lord says that with these you will hurt the Syrians until they are destroyed.'

11. ప్రవక్తలందరును ఆ ప్రకారముగానే ప్రవచించుచుయెహోవా రామోత్గిలాదును రాజు చేతికి అప్పగించును, దానిమీదికిపోయి జయమొందుము అనిరి.

11. All the men who told what would happen in the future were saying, 'Go up to Ramoth-gilead and win the battle. For the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.'

12. మీకాయాను పిలుచుటకు పోయిన దూత అతని కనుగొనిప్రవక్తలు రాజు విషయమై యేక ముఖముగా మేలునే పలుకుచున్నారు, దయచేసి నీమాటను వారి మాటలకు అనుకూలపరచి మేలునే ప్రవచింపుమనగా

12. Then the man who was sent to call Micaiah said to him, 'See, all the men who tell what will happen in the future are speaking in the king's favor. So I ask that you let your word be like one of them, and speak in the king's favor.'

13. మీకాయాయెహోవా జీవముతోడు నా దేవుడు సెలవిచ్చునదేదో దానినే ప్రవచింతునని చెప్పెను.

13. But Micaiah said, 'As the Lord lives, I will speak what my God says.'

14. అతడు రాజునొద్దకు రాగా రాజు అతని చూచిమీకాయా, యుద్ధమునకు రామోత్గిలాదునకు మేము పోవుదుమా, మానుదుమా అని యడుగగా అతడుపోయి జయించుడి, వారు మీ చేతికి అప్పగింపబడుదురనెను.

14. When he came to the king, the king said to him, 'Micaiah, should we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or should I wait?' Micaiah said, 'Go up and win the battle. For they will be given into your hand.'

15. Then the king said to him, 'How many times must I tell you to speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?'

16. అతడుకాపరిలేని గొఱ్ఱెలవలెనే ఇశ్రాయేలు వారందరును పర్వతములమీద చెదరిపోవుట చూచితిని; వీరికి యజమానుడు లేడనియు, వీరిలో ప్రతివాడు తన తన యింటికి సమాధానముగా పోవలెననియు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడనెను.

16. So he said, 'I saw all Israel spread out on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said, `These have no owner. Let each of them return to his house in peace.' '

17. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు ఇది విని యెహోషాపాతుతో ఇట్లనెనుఇతడు కీడునేగాని నా విషయమై మేలును ప్రవచింపడని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా అని యనగా

17. Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, 'Did I not tell you that he would not tell me anything good, but bad?'

18. మీకాయాయెహోవా మాట వినుడి, యెహోవా తన సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడైయుండుటయు, పరమండల సైన్యమంతయు ఆయన కుడిప్రక్కను ఎడమప్రక్కను నిలువబడుటయు నేను చూచితిని.

18. Micaiah said, 'So hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on His throne. All the armies of heaven were standing on His right and on His left.

19. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి పడిపోవునట్లు ఎవడు అతని ప్రేరే పించునని యెహోవా అడుగగా, ఒకడు ఈ విధముగాను ఇంకొకడు ఆ విధముగాను ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

19. The Lord said, `Who will lead King Ahab of Israel to go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?' And one said this while another said that.

20. అప్పుడు ఒక ఆత్మవచ్చి యెహోవాయెదుట నిలువబడినేను అతని ప్రేరేపించెదనని చెప్పగా యెహోవాదేనిచేతనని అతని నడిగెను.

20. Then a spirit came and stood before the Lord and said, `I will lead him to do it.' And the Lord said to him, `How?'

21. అందుకు ఆ యాత్మనేను బయలుదేరి అతని ప్రవక్తలందరి నోటను అబద్ధములాడు ఆత్మగా ఉందునని చెప్పగా యెహోవా నీవు అతనిని ప్రేరేపించి జయింతువు, పోయి ఆ ప్రకారముగా చేయుమని సెలవిచ్చెను.

21. He said, `I will go and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all Ahab's men who tell what will happen in the future.' Then the Lord said, `You are to make him want to go, and you will do well. Go and do so.'

22. యెహోవా నీ ప్రవక్తలగు వీరినోట అబద్ధములాడు ఆత్మను ఉంచియున్నాడు, యెహోవా నీమీద కీడు పలికించి యున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

22. So now the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of your men who speak for God. For the Lord has said that trouble will come to you.'

23. అప్పుడు కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా దగ్గరకు వచ్చి మీకాయాను చెంపమీద కొట్టినీతో మాటలాడుటకు యెహోవా ఆత్మ నాయొద్దనుండి ఏ మార్గమున పోయె ననెను.

23. Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and hit Micaiah on the side of the face, and said, 'How did the Spirit of the Lord pass from me to speak to you?'

24. అందుకు మీకాయాదాగుటకై నీవు లోపలి గదిలోనికి వెళ్లు దినమున దాని తెలిసికొందువని చెప్పెను.

24. Micaiah said, 'See, you will see on that day when you go into a room to hide yourself.'

25. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుపట్టణపు అధిపతియైన ఆమోనునొద్దకును రాజు కుమారుడైన యోవాషునొద్దకునుమీరు మీకాయాను తీసికొని పోయి వారితో రాజు మీకిచ్చిన సెలవు ఇదియే యనుడి,

25. Then the king of Israel said, 'Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the city leader, and to Joash the king's son.

26. నేను సురక్షితముగా తిరిగి వచ్చువరకు వీనిని చెరలోపెట్టి క్లేషాన్నపానములు ఇయ్యుడి.

26. Tell them, `The king says to put this man in prison. Feed him only a little bread and water until I return in peace.' '

27. అప్పుడు మీకాయా యిట్లనెనునీవు సురక్షితముగా తిరిగి వచ్చిన యెడల యెహోవా నా ద్వారా పలుకనే లేదనిచెప్పి, సమస్తజనులారా ఆల కించుడనెను.

27. Micaiah said, 'If you do return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.' And he said, 'Listen, all you people.'

28. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతును రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయిరి.

28. So the king of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah went up against Ramoth-gilead.

29. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునేను మారువేషమువేసికొని యుద్ధము నకు పోవుదును, నీవు నీ వస్త్రములనే ధరించుకొనుమని యెహోషాపాతుతో చెప్పి తాను మారువేషము వేసికొనెను, తరువాత వారు యుద్ధమునకు పోయిరి.

29. The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, 'I will dress up to look like someone else and go into battle. But you wear your king's clothing.' So the king of Israel dressed up to look like someone else, and they went into battle.

30. సిరియా రాజుమీరు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతోనే యుద్ధము చేయుడి, అధములతోనైనను అధికులతో నైనను చేయవద్దని తనతో కూడనున్న తన రథాధిపతులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియుండెను.

30. Now the king of Syria had told the captains of his war-wagons, 'Do not fight with small or great, but only with the king of Israel.'

31. కాగా యెహోషాపాతు కనబడుటతోనే రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజనుకొని యుద్ధము చేయుటకు అతని చుట్టుకొనిరి, గాని యెహోషాపాతు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినందున యెహోవా అతనికి సహాయము చేసెను, దేవుడు అతని యొద్దనుండి వారు తొలగిపోవునట్లు చేసెను.

31. So when the captains of the war-wagons saw Jehoshaphat, they said, 'It is the king of Israel.' And they turned to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him. God made them go away from him.

32. ఎట్లనగా రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకాడని తెలిసికొని అతని తరుముట మాని తిరిగిపోయిరి.

32. When the captains of the war-wagons saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from going after him.

33. అప్పుడు ఒకడు గురిచూడకయే తన వింటిని ఎక్కుబెట్టి, ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును అతని కవచపు బందులసందున కొట్టగా అతడునాకు గాయము తగిలినది, నీ చెయ్యి త్రిప్పి దండులోనుండి నన్ను కొనిపొమ్మని తన సారధితో అనెను.

33. But a certain man happened to shoot an arrow and hit the king of Israel in a joint of the battle-clothes. So the king said to the man on the war-wagon, 'Turn around, and take me out of the battle. For I am hurt.'

34. ఆ దినమున యుద్ధము ప్రబలమాయెను; అయినను ఇశ్రా యేలురాజు అస్తమయమువరకు సిరియనులకెదురుగా తన రథమునందు నిలిచెను, ప్రొద్దుగ్రుంకువేళ అతడు చనిపోయెను.

34. The battle was hard that day. And the king of Israel stood up against the sides of his warwagon in front of the Syrians until the evening. When the sun went down, he died.
