1. తనకు ఐశ్వర్యమును ఘనతయు అధికముగా కలిగిన తరువాత యెహోషాపాతు అహాబుతో వియ్యమంది

1. And Jehoshaphat had yet great wealth and glory, and he connected himself by marriage with the house of Ahab.

2. కొన్ని సంవత్సరములు గతించినమీదట షోమ్రోనులో నుండు అహాబునొద్దకు పోయెను; అహాబు అతని కొరకును అతని వెంటవచ్చిన జనులకొరకును అనేక మైన గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను కోయించి, తనతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికిపోవుటకు అతని ప్రేరేపించెను.

2. And he went down after some years to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab slaughtered for him sheep and calves, in abundance, and for the people with him, and he much desired him to go up with him to Ramoth of the country of Gilead.

3. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతును చూచినీవు నాతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదునకు వచ్చెదవా అని అడుగగా యెహోషాపాతునేను నీవాడను, నా జనులు నీ జనులు, మేము నీతో కూడ యుధ్దమునకు వచ్చెద మని చెప్పెను.

3. And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth of the country of Gilead? And he said to him, As I [am], so also [are] you, as your people, [so] also [are] my people with you for the war.

4. మరియు యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతోనేడు యెహోవాయొద్ద సంగతి విచారణ చేయుదము రండనగా

4. And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Please seek the Lord today.

5. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు నాలుగువందల మంది ప్రవక్తలను సమకూర్చినేను రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి యుద్ధమునకు పోవుదునా మానుదునా అని వారి నడిగెను. అందుకువారుపొమ్ము, దేవుడు రాజు చేతికి దానినప్పగించు నని చెప్పిరి.

5. And the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain? And they said, Go up, and God shall deliver [it] into the hands of the king.

6. అయితే యెహోషాపాతుమనము అడిగి విచారణ చేయుటకై వీరు తప్ప యెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇచ్చట లేడా? అని యడుగగా

6. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not still a prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of Him?

7. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుయెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకు ఇవ్లూ కుమా రుడైన మీకాయా అను ఒకడు ఇచ్చట ఉన్నాడు; అయితే అతడు నన్నుగూర్చి మేలు ప్రవచింపక నిత్యము కీడునే ప్రవచించుచున్నాడు గనుక నేను వానియందు పగ గలిగియున్నాననగా యెహోషాపాతురాజు ఆలా గనవద్దనెను.

7. And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man by whom to inquire of the Lord, but I hate him, for he does not prophesy concerning me for good, for all his days [are] for evil: this [is] Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say such things!

8. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు తన పరివార ములోనున్న యొకని పిలిపించిఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకా యాను శీఘ్రముగా రప్పించుమని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

8. And the king called a eunuch, and said, [Fetch] quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.

9. ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషాపాతును షోమ్రోను ఊరు గవిని ముందరి బయలునందు తమ తమ వస్త్రములను ధరించుకొని తమ తమ సింహాసనములమీద కూర్చునియుండగా ప్రవక్తలందరును వారి ముందర ప్రవచించుచుండిరి.

9. And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, and clothed in their robes, sitting in the open space at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.

10. అప్పుడు కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా యినుపకొమ్ములు చేయించుకొనివచ్చిసిరియనులు నిర్మూల మగు వరకు వీటితో వారిని నీవు పొడిచెదవని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడని ప్రకటించెను.

10. And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made for himself iron horns, and said, Thus says the Lord: With these you shall thrust Syria until they are destroyed.

11. ప్రవక్తలందరును ఆ ప్రకారముగానే ప్రవచించుచుయెహోవా రామోత్గిలాదును రాజు చేతికి అప్పగించును, దానిమీదికిపోయి జయమొందుము అనిరి.

11. And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and you shall prosper; and the Lord shall deliver it into the hands of the king.

12. మీకాయాను పిలుచుటకు పోయిన దూత అతని కనుగొనిప్రవక్తలు రాజు విషయమై యేక ముఖముగా మేలునే పలుకుచున్నారు, దయచేసి నీమాటను వారి మాటలకు అనుకూలపరచి మేలునే ప్రవచింపుమనగా

12. And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the prophets have spoken favorably concerning the king with one mouth; therefore, please let your words be as [the words] of one of them, and speak good things.

13. మీకాయాయెహోవా జీవముతోడు నా దేవుడు సెలవిచ్చునదేదో దానినే ప్రవచింతునని చెప్పెను.

13. And Micaiah said, [As] the Lord lives, whatever God shall say to me, that will I speak.

14. అతడు రాజునొద్దకు రాగా రాజు అతని చూచిమీకాయా, యుద్ధమునకు రామోత్గిలాదునకు మేము పోవుదుమా, మానుదుమా అని యడుగగా అతడుపోయి జయించుడి, వారు మీ చేతికి అప్పగింపబడుదురనెను.

14. And he came to the king, and the king said to him, Micaiah, shall I go up to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I refrain? And he said, Go up, and you shall prosper, and they shall be given into your hands.

15. అప్పుడు రాజుయెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి అబద్ధముకాక సత్యమే పలుకుమని నేను ఎన్ని మారులు నీచేత ఒట్టు పెట్టించుకొందునని అతనితో అనగా

15. And the king said to him, How often shall I solemnly charge you that you speak to me nothing but truth in the name of the Lord?

16. అతడుకాపరిలేని గొఱ్ఱెలవలెనే ఇశ్రాయేలు వారందరును పర్వతములమీద చెదరిపోవుట చూచితిని; వీరికి యజమానుడు లేడనియు, వీరిలో ప్రతివాడు తన తన యింటికి సమాధానముగా పోవలెననియు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడనెను.

16. And he said, I saw Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said, These have no commander; let each return to his home in peace.

17. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు ఇది విని యెహోషాపాతుతో ఇట్లనెనుఇతడు కీడునేగాని నా విషయమై మేలును ప్రవచింపడని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా అని యనగా

17. And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, [See,] did I not say to you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?

18. మీకాయాయెహోవా మాట వినుడి, యెహోవా తన సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడైయుండుటయు, పరమండల సైన్యమంతయు ఆయన కుడిప్రక్కను ఎడమప్రక్కను నిలువబడుటయు నేను చూచితిని.

18. But he said, Not so. Hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven stood by on His right hand and on His left.

19. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి పడిపోవునట్లు ఎవడు అతని ప్రేరే పించునని యెహోవా అడుగగా, ఒకడు ఈ విధముగాను ఇంకొకడు ఆ విధముగాను ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

19. And the Lord said, Who will deceive Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up, and fall in Ramoth Gilead? And one spoke this way, and another spoke that way.

20. అప్పుడు ఒక ఆత్మవచ్చి యెహోవాయెదుట నిలువబడినేను అతని ప్రేరేపించెదనని చెప్పగా యెహోవాదేనిచేతనని అతని నడిగెను.

20. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will deceive him. And the Lord said, How?

21. అందుకు ఆ యాత్మనేను బయలుదేరి అతని ప్రవక్తలందరి నోటను అబద్ధములాడు ఆత్మగా ఉందునని చెప్పగా యెహోవా నీవు అతనిని ప్రేరేపించి జయింతువు, పోయి ఆ ప్రకారముగా చేయుమని సెలవిచ్చెను.

21. And he said, I will go forth, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And [the Lord] said, You shall deceive [him], and shall prevail: go forth, and do so.

22. యెహోవా నీ ప్రవక్తలగు వీరినోట అబద్ధములాడు ఆత్మను ఉంచియున్నాడు, యెహోవా నీమీద కీడు పలికించి యున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

22. And now, behold, the Lord has put a false spirit in the mouth of these your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against you.

23. అప్పుడు కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా దగ్గరకు వచ్చి మీకాయాను చెంపమీద కొట్టినీతో మాటలాడుటకు యెహోవా ఆత్మ నాయొద్దనుండి ఏ మార్గమున పోయె ననెను.

23. Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah drew near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said to him, By what way did the Spirit of the Lord pass from me to speak to you?

24. అందుకు మీకాయాదాగుటకై నీవు లోపలి గదిలోనికి వెళ్లు దినమున దాని తెలిసికొందువని చెప్పెను.

24. And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see in that day, when you shall go from chamber to chamber to hide yourself.

25. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుపట్టణపు అధిపతియైన ఆమోనునొద్దకును రాజు కుమారుడైన యోవాషునొద్దకునుమీరు మీకాయాను తీసికొని పోయి వారితో రాజు మీకిచ్చిన సెలవు ఇదియే యనుడి,

25. And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the captain, the king's son;

26. నేను సురక్షితముగా తిరిగి వచ్చువరకు వీనిని చెరలోపెట్టి క్లేషాన్నపానములు ఇయ్యుడి.

26. and you shall say, Thus said the king: Put this fellow into the prison house, and let him eat the bread of affliction, and [drink] the water of affliction, until I return in peace.

27. అప్పుడు మీకాయా యిట్లనెనునీవు సురక్షితముగా తిరిగి వచ్చిన యెడల యెహోవా నా ద్వారా పలుకనే లేదనిచెప్పి, సమస్తజనులారా ఆల కించుడనెను.

27. And Micaiah said, If you do at all return in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, all you people.

28. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతును రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయిరి.

28. So the king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat king of Judah, went up to Ramoth Gilead.

29. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునేను మారువేషమువేసికొని యుద్ధము నకు పోవుదును, నీవు నీ వస్త్రములనే ధరించుకొనుమని యెహోషాపాతుతో చెప్పి తాను మారువేషము వేసికొనెను, తరువాత వారు యుద్ధమునకు పోయిరి.

29. And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Disguise me, and I will enter into the battle; and you put on my robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself, and entered into the battle.

30. సిరియా రాజుమీరు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతోనే యుద్ధము చేయుడి, అధములతోనైనను అధికులతో నైనను చేయవద్దని తనతో కూడనున్న తన రథాధిపతులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియుండెను.

30. Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight neither against small nor great, but only against the king of Israel.

31. కాగా యెహోషాపాతు కనబడుటతోనే రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజనుకొని యుద్ధము చేయుటకు అతని చుట్టుకొనిరి, గాని యెహోషాపాతు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినందున యెహోవా అతనికి సహాయము చేసెను, దేవుడు అతని యొద్దనుండి వారు తొలగిపోవునట్లు చేసెను.

31. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. And they compassed him round about to fight against him. And Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord delivered him; and God turned them away from him.

32. ఎట్లనగా రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకాడని తెలిసికొని అతని తరుముట మాని తిరిగిపోయిరి.

32. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned away from him.

33. అప్పుడు ఒకడు గురిచూడకయే తన వింటిని ఎక్కుబెట్టి, ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును అతని కవచపు బందులసందున కొట్టగా అతడునాకు గాయము తగిలినది, నీ చెయ్యి త్రిప్పి దండులోనుండి నన్ను కొనిపొమ్మని తన సారధితో అనెను.

33. And a man drew a bow with a good aim, and struck the king of Israel between the lungs and the breastplate. And he said to the charioteer, Turn your hand, drive me out of the battle, for I am wounded.

34. ఆ దినమున యుద్ధము ప్రబలమాయెను; అయినను ఇశ్రా యేలురాజు అస్తమయమువరకు సిరియనులకెదురుగా తన రథమునందు నిలిచెను, ప్రొద్దుగ్రుంకువేళ అతడు చనిపోయెను.

34. And the battle turned in that day; and the king of Israel remained on the chariot against Syria until evening, and died at sunset.
