1. అంతట ఏడవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోయాదా ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని, శతాధిపతులతోను యెరోహాము కుమారుడైన అజర్యాతోను యెహోహానాను కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలుతోను ఓబేదు కుమారుడైన అజర్యాతోను అదాయాకుమారుడైన మయశేయాతోను జిఖ్రీ కుమారుడైన ఎలీషాపాతుతోను నిబంధనచేయగా

1. After Ahaziah's son Joash had hidden in the temple for six years, Jehoiada the priest knew that something had to be done. So he made sure he had the support of several army officers. They were Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri.

2. వారు యూదా దేశమందంతటను సంచరించి, యూదావారి పట్టణము లన్నిటిలోనుండి లేవీయులను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పితరుల యిండ్ల పెద్దలను సమకూర్చి యెరూషలేమునకు తోడుకొని వచ్చిరి.

2. These five men went to the towns in Judah and called together the Levites and the clan leaders. They all came to Jerusalem

3. జనులందరు సమాజముగా కూడి దేవుని మందిరములో రాజుతో నిబంధన చేసికొనినప్పుడు అతడు వారితో ఇట్లనెను - యెహోవా దావీదు కుమారులను గూర్చి యిచ్చిన సెలవుచొప్పున రాజకుమారుడు రాజ్య మేలవలెను.

3. and gathered at the temple, where they agreed to help Joash. Jehoiada said to them: Joash will be our next king, because long ago the LORD promised that one of David's descendants would always be king.

4. కాబట్టి మీరు చేయవలసిన దేమనగా, మీలో యాజకులైనవారేమి లేవీయులైనవారేమి విశ్రాంతి దినమున లోపల ప్రవేశించువారు మూడు భాగములై, యొక భాగము ద్వారపాలకులుగా ఉండవలెను.

4. Here is what we will do. Three groups of priests and Levites will be on guard duty on the Sabbath--one group will guard the gates of the temple,

5. ఒక భాగము రాజనగరునొద్ద ఉండవలెను. ఒక భాగము పునాది గుమ్మము నొద్ద ఉండవలెను, జనులందరు యెహోవా మందిరపు ఆవరణములలో ఉండవలెను.

5. one will guard the palace, and the other will guard Foundation Gate. The rest of you will stand guard in the temple courtyards.

6. యాజకులును లేవీయులలో పరిచారము చేయువారును తప్ప యెహోవా మందిరము లోపలికి మరి ఎవరును రాకూడదు, వారు ప్రతిష్ఠింపబడిన వారు గనుక వారు లోపలికి రావచ్చునుగాని జనులందరు యెహోవా ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞచొప్పున బయట ఉండవలెను.

6. Only the priests and Levites who are on duty will be able to enter the temple, because they will be the only ones who have gone through the ceremony to make themselves clean and acceptable. The others must stay outside in the courtyards, just as the LORD has commanded.

7. లేవీయులందరు తమ తమ ఆయుధములను చేతపట్టుకొని రాజుచుట్టును ఉండవలెను, మందిరము లోపలికి మరి ఎవరైనను వచ్చినయెడల ఆ వచ్చినవారికి మరణశిక్ష విధించుడి; రాజు లోపలికి వచ్చినప్పుడేమి బయటికి వెళ్లు నప్పుడేమి మీరు అతనితోకూడ ఉండవలెను.

7. You Levites must protect King Joash. Don't let him out of your sight! And keep your swords ready to kill anyone who comes into the temple.

8. కాబట్టి లేవీయులును యూదావారందరును యాజకుడైన యెహో యాదా ఆజ్ఞ యంతటి ప్రకారము చేసిరి; యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా వంతులవారికి సెలవియ్యలేదు గనుక ప్రతి వాడు విశ్రాంతిదినమున బయటికి వెళ్ల వలసిన తనవారిని ఆ దినమున లోపలికి రావలసిన తనవారిని తీసికొనివచ్చెను.

8. The Levites and the people of Judah followed Jehoiada's orders. The guards going off duty were not allowed to go home, and so each commander had all his guards available--those going off duty as well as those coming on duty.

9. మరియు యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా దేవుని మందిర మందు రాజైన దావీదు ఉంచిన బల్లెములను కేడెములను డాళ్లను శతాధిపతులకు అప్పగించెను.

9. Jehoiada went into the temple and brought out the swords and shields that had belonged to King David, and he gave them to the commanders.

10. అతడు ఆయుధము చేత పట్టుకొనిన జనులందరిని మందిరపు కుడివైపునుండి యెడమవైపువరకు బలిపీఠము ప్రక్కను మందిరముప్రక్కను రాజుచుట్టును ఉంచెను.

10. They gave the weapons to the guards, and Jehoiada then made sure that the guards took their positions around the temple and the altar to protect the king on every side.

11. అప్పుడు వారు రాజకుమారుని బయటికి తోడుకొని వచ్చి, అతనిమీద కిరీటముంచి, ధర్మ శాస్త్ర గ్రంథమును అతని చేతికిచ్చి అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిరి; యెహోయాదాయును అతని కుమారులును అతనిని అభిషేకించిరాజు చిరంజీవియగునుగాక యనిరి.

11. Jehoiada and his sons brought Joash outside, where they placed the crown on his head and gave him a copy of the instructions for ruling the nation. Olive oil was poured on his head to show that he was now king, and the crowd cheered and shouted, 'Long live the king!'

12. పరుగులెత్తుచు రాజును కొనియాడుచు ఉన్న జనులు చేయు ధ్వని అతల్యా విని యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న జనులయొద్దకు వచ్చి

12. As soon as Queen Athaliah heard the crowd cheering for Joash, she went to the temple.

13. ప్రవేశస్థలముదగ్గర నున్న అతనికి ఏర్పాటైన స్తంభమునొద్ద రాజు నిలువబడియుండుటయు, అధిపతులును బూరలు ఊదువారును రాజునొద్దనుండుటయు, దేశపు జనులందరును సంతోషించుచు బూరలతో నాదములు చేయుచుండుటయు, గాయకులును వాద్యములతో స్తుతిపాటలు పాడుచుండుటయు చూచి వస్త్రములు చింపుకొనిద్రోహము ద్రోహమని అరచెను.

13. There she saw Joash standing by one of the columns near the entrance, which was the usual place for the king. The commanders and the trumpet players were standing next to him, and the musicians were playing instruments and leading the people as they celebrated and blew trumpets. Athaliah tore her clothes in anger and shouted, 'You betrayed me, you traitors!'

14. అప్పుడు యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదాయెహోవా మందిరములో ఆమెను చంపవలదు, ఆమెను పంక్తుల అవతలకు వెళ్లవేసి ఆమె పక్షము పూనువారిని కత్తిచేత చంపుడని సైన్యముమీదనున్న శతాధిపతులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

14. Right away, Jehoiada said to the army commanders, 'Don't kill her near the LORD's temple. Take her out in front of the troops, and be sure to kill all of her followers!'

15. కాబట్టి వారు ఆమెకు దారియిచ్చి, రాజనగరునొద్దనున్న గుఱ్ఱపు గుమ్మముయొక్క ప్రవేశస్థలమునకు ఆమె వచ్చి నప్పుడు వారు ఆమెను అక్కడ చంపివేసిరి.

15. She tried to escape, but the commanders caught and killed her near the gate where horses are led into the palace.

16. అప్పుడు యెహోయాదా జనులందరు యెహోవావారై యుండవలెనని జనులందరితోను రాజుతోను నిబంధనచేసెను.

16. Jehoiada asked King Joash and the people to join with him in being faithful to the LORD. They agreed,

17. అంతట జనులందరును బయలు దేవతయొక్క గుడికి పోయి దాని పడగొట్టి, బలిపీఠములను విగ్రహములను తుత్తునియలుగా విరుగగొట్టి, బయలు యాజకుడైన మత్తానును బలిపీఠముల ముందర చంపిరి.

17. then rushed to the temple of the god Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and the idols and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars.

18. మరియు మోషే యిచ్చిన ధర్మశాస్త్ర మందు వ్రాయబడినదానినిబట్టి ఉత్సాహముతోను గానముతోను యెహోవాకు అర్పింపవలసిన దహనబలులను దావీదు నియమించిన ప్రకారముగా అర్పించునట్లు, లేవీయులైన యాజకుల చేతిక్రింద నుండునట్టియు, యెహోవా మందిర మందు దావీదు పనులు పంచివేసినట్టియునైన యెహోవా మందిరపు కావలివారికి యెహోయాదా నిర్ణయించెను.

18. Jehoiada assigned the priests and Levites their duties at the temple, just as David had done. They were in charge of offering sacrifices to the LORD according to the Law of Moses, and they were responsible for leading the celebrations with singing.

19. యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి దేనిచేతనైనను అంటుతగిలిన వారు ప్రవేశింపకుండునట్లు అతడు ద్వారములయొద్ద ద్వార పాలకులను ఉంచెను.

19. Jehoiada ordered the guards at the temple gates to keep out anyone who was unclean.

20. మరియు అతడు శతాధిపతులను ప్రధానులను జనుల అధికారులను దేశపు జనులనందరిని వెంటబెట్టుకొని యెహోవా మందిరములోనుండి రాజును తోడుకొని వచ్చెను; వారు ఎత్తయిన ద్వారముగుండ రాజనగరుచొచ్చి రాజ్యసింహాసనముమీద రాజును ఆసీనుని చేయగా

20. Finally, Jehoiada called together the army commanders, the most important citizens of Judah, and the government officials. The crowd of people followed them as they led Joash from the temple, through the Upper Gate, and into the palace, where he took his place as king of Judah.

21. దేశజనులందరు సంతోషించిరి. వారు అతల్యాను చంపిన తరువాత పట్టణము నెమ్మదిగా ఉండెను.

21. Everyone celebrated because Athaliah had been killed and Jerusalem was peaceful again.
