1. అమజ్యా యేలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది యయి దేండ్లవాడై యిరువది తొమ్మిది సంవత్సరములు యెరూష లేములో ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థురాలు, ఆమె పేరు యెహో యద్దాను.

1. Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king. And he ruled for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

2. అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి యథార్థముగా ప్రవర్తించెనుగాని పూర్ణహృదయముతో ఆయనను అనుసరింపలేదు.

2. Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not with a whole heart.

3. రాజ్యము తనకు స్థిర మైనప్పుడు అతడు రాజైన తన తండ్రిని చంపిన రాజసేవకు లను చంపించెను.

3. As soon as the nation was under his rule, he killed his servants who had killed his father the king.

4. అయితేతండ్రులు పిల్లలకొరకును పిల్లలు తండ్రులకొరకును చావకూడదు, ప్రతి మనిషి తన పాపముకొరకు తానే చావవలెనని మోషే గ్రంథ మందలి ధర్మశాస్త్రమునందు వ్రాయబడియున్న యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞనుబట్టి అతడు వారి పిల్లలను చంపక మానెను.

4. But he did not kill their children. He did what is written in the Law in the book of Moses. The Lord had said in this Law, 'Fathers must not be put to death for the children. And children must not be put to death for the fathers. Each must be put to death for his own sin.'

5. అమజ్యా యూదావారినందరిని సమకూర్చి యూదా దేశమంతటను బెన్యామీనీయుల దేశమంతటను వారివారి పితరుల యిండ్లనుబట్టి సహస్రాధిపతులను శతాధిపతులను నియమించెను. అతడు ఇరువది సంవత్సరములు మొదలుకొని అంతకు పై ప్రాయముగల వారిని లెక్కింపగా, ఈటెను డాళ్లను పట్టుకొని యుద్ధమునకు పోదగినట్టి యోధులు మూడులక్షలమంది కనబడిరి.

5. Then Amaziah gathered the men of Judah together. He put them, by their fathers' houses, under the rule of captains of thousands and of hundreds for all Judah and Benjamin. He numbered those who were twenty years old and older. And he found that they were 300,000 chosen men, able to go to war and fight with spear and battle-covering.

6. మరియు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలోనుండి లక్షమంది పరాక్రమశాలులను రెండువందల మణుగుల వెండికి కుదిర్చెను.

6. He also asked for the help of 100,000 powerful soldiers from Israel and paid them with silver weighing as much as 100 men.

7. దైవజనుడైన యొకడు అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చిరాజా, ఇశ్రాయేలువారి సైన్యమును నీతోకూడ తీసికొనిపోవద్దు, యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలువారగు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులలో ఎవరికిని తోడుగా ఉండడు.

7. But a man of God came to him and said, 'O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you. For the Lord is not with Israel. He is not with all these sons of Ephraim.

8. ఆలాగు పోవలెనని నీకున్నయెడల పొమ్ము, యుద్ధము బలముగా చేసినను దేవుడు నీ శత్రువు ఎదుట నిన్ను కూల్చును; నిలువబెట్టుటయు పడవేయుటయు దేవునివశమేగదా అని ప్రకటింపగా

8. But if you think that in this way you will be strong in war, God will destroy you in front of those who fight you. For God has power to help and to destroy.'

9. అమజ్యా దైవజనుని చూచిఇశ్రాయేలువారి సైన్యమునకు నేనిచ్చిన రెండువందల మణుగుల వెండికి ఏమి చేసెదమని అడిగి నందుకుదీనికంటె మరి యధికముగా యెహోవా నీకు ఇయ్యగలడని ఆ దైవజనుడు ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను.

9. Amaziah said to the man of God, 'But what should I do about the silver weighing as much as 100 men, which I have given to the army of Israel?' The man of God answered, 'The Lord has much more to give you than this.'

10. అప్పుడు అమజ్యా ఎఫ్రాయిములోనుండి తనయొద్దకు వచ్చిన సైన్యమును వేరుపరచిమీ యిండ్లకు తిరిగి వెళ్లుడని వారికి సెలవిచ్చెను; అందుకు వారి కోపము యూదా వారి మీద బహుగా రగులుకొనెను, వారు ఉగ్రులై తమ యిండ్లకు తిరిగి పోయిరి.

10. Then Amaziah sent the army home which had come to him from Ephraim. These hired soldiers were angry at the people of Judah. As they returned home they were very angry.

11. అంతట అమజ్యా ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని తన జనులతో కూడ బయలుదేరి ఉప్పుపల్లపు స్థలమునకు పోయి శేయీరువారిలో పదివేలమందిని హతము చేసెను.

11. Now Amaziah made himself strong of heart, and he led his people to the Valley of Salt and killed 10,000 men of Seir.

12. ప్రాణముతోనున్న మరి పదివేలమందిని యూదావారు చెరపట్టుకొని, వారిని ఒక పేటుమీదికి తీసికొనిపోయి ఆ పేటుమీదనుండి వారిని పడవేయగా వారు తుత్తునియలైపోయిరి.

12. The men of Judah also took 10,000 men alive. They brought them to the top of a high rock and threw them down from it, so they were all crushed to pieces.

13. అయితే తనతోకూడ యుద్ధమునకు రావద్దని అమజ్యా తిరిగి పంపివేసిన సైనికులు షోమ్రోను మొదలుకొని బేత్‌హోరోనువరకు ఉన్న యూదాపట్టణములమీద పడివారిలో మూడు వేలమందిని హతముచేసి విస్తార మైన కొల్లసొమ్ము పట్టుకొని పోయిరి.

13. But the soldiers from Israel whom Amaziah had sent back from going with him to battle came and fought against the cities of Judah. They fought cities from Samaria to Bethhoron, and killed 3,000 people living in them. And they took many things which had belonged to the people in these cities.

14. అమజ్యా ఎదోమీయులను ఓడించి తిరిగి వచ్చిన తరువాత అతడు శేయీరువారి దేవతలను తీసికొనివచ్చి తనకు దేవతలుగా నిలిపి వాటికి నమస్కరించి ధూపము వేసెను.

14. After Amaziah came from killing the Edomites, he brought the gods of the men of Seir. He set them up as his gods. He bowed down in front of them, and burned special perfume to them.

15. అందుకొరకు యెహోవా కోపము అమజ్యా మీద రగులుకొనెను. ఆయన అతనియొద్దకు ప్రవక్తను ఒకని పంపగా అతడునీ చేతిలోనుండి తమ జనులను విడిపింప శక్తిలేని దేవతలయొద్ద నీవెందుకు విచారణ చేయుదువని అమజ్యాతో ననెను.

15. Then the Lord was angry with Amaziah and sent a man who speaks for God to him, saying, 'Why have you worshiped the gods of the people? These gods have not saved their own people from your hand.'

16. అతడు అమజ్యాతో మాటలాడుచుండగా రాజు అతని చూచినీవు రాజుయొక్క ఆలోచనకర్తలలో ఒకడవైతివా? ఊరకొనుము;నేను నిన్ను చంపనేల అని చెప్పగా ఆ ప్రవక్తనీవు ఈలాగున చేసి నా ఆలోచనను అంగీకరింపకపోవుట చూచి దేవుడు నిన్ను నశింపజేయనుద్దేశించి యున్నాడని నాకు తెలియునని చెప్పి యూరకొనెను.

16. But as he was speaking the king said to him, 'Have we chosen you to give words of wisdom to the king? Stop! Or I will have you put to death?' So the man who spoke for God stopped, but said, 'I know that God has planned to destroy you because you have done this. And you have not listened to what I have said.'

17. అప్పుడు యూదారాజైన అమజ్యా ఆలోచనచేసికొనిరమ్ము మనము ఒకరి ముఖమును ఒకరము చూచుకొంద మని యెహూకు పుట్టిన యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడును ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునైన యెహోయాషునొద్దకు వర్తమానము పంపెను.

17. Then King Amaziah of Judah spoke with his wise men, and sent word to Joash the son of Jehoahaz the son of Jehu, the king of Israel, saying, 'Come, let us face each other.'

18. కాగా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహోయాషు యూదారాజైన అమజ్యాకు ఈలాగు తిరుగ వర్తమానము పంపెనునీ కుమార్తెను నా కుమారునికిమ్మని లెబానోనులో నున్న ముండ్లచెట్టు లెబానోనులోనున్న దేవదారువృక్ష మునకు వర్తమానము పంపగా లెబానోనులో సంచరించు ఒక దుష్టమృగము ఆ ముండ్లచెట్టును త్రొక్కివేసెను.

18. King Joash of Israel sent an answer to King Amaziah of Judah, saying, 'The thorn bush in Lebanon sent word to the cedar in Lebanon, saying, 'Give your daughter to my son for a wife.' But a wild animal of Lebanon passed by and crushed the thorn bush under its feet.

19. నేను ఎదోమీయులను ఓడించితిని గదా యని నీవను కొనుచున్నావు; నీ హృదయము నీవు గర్వించి ప్రగల్భము లాడునట్లు చేయుచున్నది; యింటియొద్ద నిలిచి యుండుము; నీవు నా జోలికి వచ్చి కీడు తెచ్చుకొనుట యెందుకు? నీవును నీతోకూడ యూదావారును అపజయ మొందుట యెందుకు?

19. You say, 'See, I have destroyed Edom.' And your heart has become proud by what you say. Now stay at home. Why should you bring trouble so you will fall, and Judah with you?'

20. జనులు ఎదోమీయుల దేవతల యొద్ద విచారణ చేయుచు వచ్చిరి గనుక వారి శత్రువుల చేతికి వారు అప్పగింపబడునట్లు దేవుని ప్రేరణవలన అమజ్యా ఆ వర్తమానమును అంగీకరింపక పోయెను.

20. But Amaziah would not listen. God had planned that He would give Judah into the hand of Joash because Judah had worshiped the gods of Edom.

21. ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజైన యెహోయాషు బయలుదేరగా యూదా దేశమునకు చేరిన బేత్షెమెషులో అతడును యూదా రాజైన అమజ్యాయును ఒకరి ముఖము ఒకరు చూచు కొనిరి.

21. So King Joash of Israel met King Amaziah of Judah in battle at Beth-shemesh of Judah.

22. యూదావారు ఇశ్రాయేలువారియెదుట నిలువ లేక ఓడిపోగా ప్రతివాడును తన తన గుడారమునకు పారిపోయెను.

22. And Judah lost the battle to Israel. Each man ran away to his home.

23. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన యెహో యాషు యెహోయాహాజునకు పుట్టిన యోవాషు కుమారు డును యూదారాజునైన అమజ్యాను బేత్షెమెషులో పట్టుకొని యెరూషలేమునకు తీసికొని వచ్చి, యెరూషలేము ప్రాకారమును ఎఫ్రాయిము గుమ్మము మొదలుకొని మూలగుమ్మమువరకు నాలుగువందల మూరల పొడుగున పడ గొట్టెను.

23. King Joash of Israel took King Amaziah of Judah, the son of Joash, son of Jehoahaz, at Beth-shemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem. He tore down the wall of Jerusalem from the Gate of Ephraim to the Corner Gate, as much wall as 200 long steps.

24. అతడు దేవుని మందిరములో ఓబేదెదోము నొద్దనున్న వెండియంతయు బంగారమంతయు ఉపకర ణములన్నియు రాజు నగరునందున్న సొమ్మును కుదవపెట్ట బడినవారిని తీసికొని షోమ్రోనునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లెను.

24. And he took all the gold and silver, and all the objects found in the house of God with Obed-edom. He took the riches of the king's house, and people also, and returned to Samaria.

25. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజును యెహోయాహాజు కుమారుడు నైన యెహోయాషు మరణమైన తరువాత యూదా రాజును యోవాషు కుమారుడునైన అమజ్యా పదునయిదు సంవత్సరములు బ్రదికెను.

25. Amaziah, the son of King Joash of Judah, lived fifteen years after the death of Joash, the son of King Jehoahaz of Israel.

26. అమజ్యా చేసిన యితర కార్యములు యూదా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నవి.

26. Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, from first to last, are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

27. అమజ్యా యెహోవాను అనుస రించుట మానివేసిన తరువాత జనులు యెరూషలేములో అతనిమీద కుట్రచేయగా అతడు లాకీషునకు పారి పోయెను.

27. After Amaziah turned away from the Lord, they made plans against him in Jerusalem, and he ran away to Lachish. But they sent men after him to Lachish, and killed him there.

28. అయితే వారు అతని వెనుక లాకీషునకు మను ష్యులను పంపి అతని అక్కడ చంపి, గుఱ్ఱములమీద అతని శవము ఎక్కించి తీసికొనివచ్చి యూదాపట్టణమందు అతని తండ్రులయొద్ద అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి.

28. Then they brought him on horses and buried him with his fathers in the city of Judah.
