1. యోషీయా యేలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఎనిమిదేండ్ల వాడై యెరూషలేములో ముప్పది యొక సంవత్సరము ఏలెను.

1. Iosiah was eight yeere olde when hee began to reigne, and he reigned in Ierusalem one and thirtie yeere.

2. అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి నీతి ననుసరించుచు, కుడికైనను ఎడమకైనను తొలగకుండ తన పితరుడైన దావీదు చూపిన ప్రవర్తనకు సరిగా ప్రవర్తించెను.

2. And he did vprightly in the sight of ye Lord, and walked in the wayes of Dauid his father, and bowed neither to the right hand nor to the left.

3. తన యేలుబడి యందు ఎనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమున తానింకను బాలుడై యుండగానే అతడు తన పితరుడైన దావీదుయొక్క దేవునియొద్ద విచారించుటకు పూనుకొనినవాడై, పండ్రెండవయేట ఉన్నతస్థలములను దేవతాస్తంభములను పడగొట్టి, చెక్కిన విగ్రహములను పోతవిగ్రహములను తీసివేసి, యూదాదేశమును యెరూషలేమును పవిత్రముచేయ నారంభించెను.

3. And in the eight yeere of his reigne (when he was yet a childe) he began to seeke after the God of Dauid his father: and in the twelft yeere he began to purge Iudah, and Ierusalem from the hie places, and the groues, and the carued images, and molten images:

4. అతడు చూచుచుండగా జనులు బయలు దేవతల బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టి, వాటిపైన ఉన్న సూర్య దేవతల విగ్రహములను అతని ఆజ్ఞచొప్పున నరికివేసి, దేవతా స్తంభములను చెక్కిన విగ్రహములను పోత విగ్రహములను తుత్తునియలుగా కొట్టి చూర్ణముచేసి, వాటికి బలులు అర్పించినవారి సమాధులమీద చల్లి వేసిరి.

4. And they brake downe in his sight the altars of Baalim, and hee caused to cut downe the images that were on hie vpon them: he brake also the groues, and the carued images, and the molten images, and stampt them to pouder, and strowed it vpon the graues of them that had sacrificed vnto them.

5. బయలుదేవత యాజకుల శల్యములను బలిపీఠములమీద అతడు కాల్పించి, యూదాదేశమును యెరూషలేమును పవిత్రపరచెను.

5. Also he burnt the bones of the Priests vpon their altars, and purged Iudah and Ierusalem.

6. ఆ ప్రకారము అతడు మనష్షే ఎఫ్రాయిము షిమ్యోను దేశములవారి పట్టణములలోను, నఫ్తాలి మన్యమునందును, చుట్టుపట్లనున్న పాడుస్థలములన్నిటను బలిపీఠములను పడ గొట్టెను.

6. And in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, euen vnto Naphtali, with their maules they brake all round about.

7. బలిపీఠములను దేవతా స్తంభములను పడగొట్టి చెక్కిన విగ్రహములను చూర్ణముచేసి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమంతటనున్న సూర్యదేవతా విగ్రహములన్నిటిని నరికి వేసి అతడు యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వచ్చెను.

7. And when he had destroyed the altars and the groues, and had broken and stamped to pouder the images, and had cut downe all the idoles throughout all the land of Israel, hee returned to Ierusalem.

8. అతని యేలుబడియందు పదునెనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమున, దేశమును మందిరమును పవిత్రపరచుటయైన తరువాత, అతడు అజల్యా కుమారుడైన షాఫానును, పట్టాణాధిపతి యైన మయశేయాను, రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీదనున్న యోహాహాజు కుమారుడగు యోవాహాజును, తన దేవుడైన యెహోవా మందిరమును బాగుచేయుటకై పంపెను.

8. Then in the eightenth yere of his reigne, when hee had purged the lande and the Temple, he sent Shaphan the sonne of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the gouernour of the citie, and Ioah the sonne of Ioahaz the recorder, to repaire the house of the Lord his God.

9. వారు ప్రధానయాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాయొద్దకు వచ్చి, ద్వారపాలకులైన లేవీయులు మనష్షే ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుల దేశములయందు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలో శేషించియున్న వారందరియొద్దనుండియు, యూదా బెన్యామీనీయులందరి యొద్ద నుండియు కూర్చి, దేవుని మందిరములోనికి తీసికొని వచ్చిన ద్రవ్యమును అతనికి అప్పగించిరి.

9. And when they came to Hilkiah the hie Priest, they deliuered ye money that was brought into the house of God, which the Leuites that kept the doore, had gathered at the hand of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and of all the residue of Israel, and of all Iudah and Beniamin, and of the inhabitantes of Ierusalem.

10. వారు దానిని యెహోవా మందిరపు పనిమీదనున్న పైవిచారణకర్తల కియ్యగా, దాని బాగుచేయుటకును, యూదా రాజులు పాడుచేసిన యిండ్లకు దూలములను అమర్చుటకును

10. And they put it in the hands of them that should doe the worke and had the ouersight in the house of the Lord: and they gaue it to the workemen that wrought in the house of ye Lord, to repaire and amend the house.

11. చెక్కిన రాళ్లను జోడింపుపనికి మ్రానులను కొనుటకై యెహోవా మందిరమునందు పనిచేయువారికిని శిల్పకారుల కును దాని నిచ్చిరి.

11. Euen to the workemen and to the builders gaue they it, to bye hewed stone and timber for couples and for beames of the houses, which the Kings of Iudah had destroyed.

12. ఆ మనుష్యులు ఆ పనిని నమ్మకముగా చేసిరి. వారి మీది పైవిచారణకర్తలు ఎవరనగా, మెరా రీయులైన లేవీయులగు యహతు ఓబద్యా అనువారును, పని నడిపించుటకు ఏర్పడిన కహాతీయులగు జెకర్యా మెషు ల్లాము అనువారును, లేవీయులలో వాద్యప్రవీణులైన వారు వారితోకూడ ఉండిరి.

12. And the men did the worke faithfully, and the ouerseers of them were Iahath and Obadiah the Leuites, of the children of Merari, and Zechariah, and Meshullam, of the children of the Kohathites to set it forward: and of the Leuites all that could skill of instruments of musike.

13. మరియు బరువులు మోయు వారిమీదను, ప్రతివిధమైన పని జరిగించువారిమీదను ఆ లేవీయులు పైవిచారణకర్త లుగా నియమింపబడిరి. మరియు లేవీయులలో లేఖకులును పరిచారకులును ద్వారపాలకులు నైనవారు ఆయా పనులమీద నియమింపబడిరి.

13. And they were ouer the bearers of burdens, and them that set forwarde all the workemen in euery worke: and of the Leuites were scribes, and officers and porters.

14. యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి తేబడిన ద్రవ్యమును బయటికి తీసికొని వచ్చినప్పుడు, మోషేద్వారా యెహోవా దయచేసిన ధర్మ శాస్త్రముగల గ్రంథము యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాకు కన బడెను.

14. And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the Priest found the booke of the Lawe of the Lord giuen by the hand of Moses.

15. అప్పుడు హిల్కీయాయెహోవా మందిరమందు ధర్మశాస్త్రముగల గ్రంథము నాకు దొరికెనని శాస్త్రియగు షాఫానుతో చెప్పి ఆ గ్రంథమును షాఫానుకు అప్ప గించెను.

15. Therefore Hilkiah answered and sayde to Shaphan the chaceler, I haue found the booke of the Law in the house of the Lord: and Hilkiah gaue the booke to Shaphan.

16. షాఫాను ఆ గ్రంథమును రాజునొద్దకు తీసికొని పోయి రాజుతో ఇట్లనెనునీ సేవకులకు నీవు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన దంతయు వారు చేయుచున్నారు.

16. And Shaphan caried the booke to the King, and brought the King worde againe, saying, All that is committed to the hand of thy seruants, that do they.

17. యెహోవా మందిరము నందు దొరికిన ద్రవ్యమును వారు పోగుచేసి పైవిచారణ కర్తల చేతికిని పనివారి చేతికిని దాని అప్పగించియున్నారు.

17. For they haue gathered the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and haue deliuered it into the handes of the ouerseers, and to the handes of the workemen.

18. మరియు యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా నాకు ఒక గ్రంథము ఇచ్చెనని రాజు ఎదుట మనవిచేసికొని, శాస్త్రియగు షాఫాను రాజు సముఖమున దానినుండి చదివి వినిపించెను.

18. Also Shaphan ye chanceler declared to the King, saying, Hilkiah the Priest hath giuen mee a booke, and Shaphan read it before the King.

19. అతడు ధర్మశాస్త్రపు మాటలు చదివి వినిపింపగా రాజు విని తన వస్త్రములను చింపుకొని

19. And when the King had heard the wordes of the Lawe, he tare his clothes.

20. హిల్కీయాకును, షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాముకును, మీకా కుమారుడైన అబ్దోనుకును, శాస్త్రియగు షాఫానుకును, రాజు సేవకుడైన ఆశాయాకును ఈలాగున ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను

20. And the King commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan, and Abdon the sonne of Micah, and Shaphan the chanceler, and Asaiah the Kings seruant, saying,

21. మీరు వెళ్లి దొరకిన యీ గ్రంథములోని మాటలవిషయమై నాకొరకును, ఇశ్రాయేలు యూదావారిలో శేషించి యున్నవారికొరకును యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారించుడి. మన పితరులు ఈ గ్రంథమునందు వ్రాయబడియున్న సమస్తమును అనుసరింపకయు, యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొన కయు నుండిరి గనుక యెహోవా కోపము మనమీదికి అత్యధికముగా వచ్చియున్నది.

21. Goe and enquire of the Lord for me, and for the rest in Israel and Iudah, concerning the wordes of this booke that is founde: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is fallen vpon vs, because our fathers haue not kept the worde of the Lord, to doe after all that is written in this booke.

22. అప్పుడు హిల్కీయాయును రాజు నియమించినవారును సంగతినిగూర్చి విచారణచేయుటకై హర్హషుకు పుట్టిన తిక్వా కుమారుడును వస్త్రశాలకు పైవిచారణకర్తయునగు షల్లూముయొక్క భార్యయైన హుల్దా అను ప్రవక్త్రియొద్దకు పోయిరి. ఆమె అప్పుడు యెరూషలేమునకు చేరిన యుప భాగములో కాపురముండెను. వారు ఆమెతో సంగతి చెప్పగా

22. Then Hilkiah and they that the King had appoynted, went to Huldah the Prophetesse ye wife of Shallum, the sonne of Tokhath, the sonne of Hasrah keeper of the wardrobe (and she dwelt in Ierusalem within the colledge) and they communed hereof with her.

23. ఆమె వారితో ఇట్లనెనుఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా

23. And shee answered them, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Tell yee the man that sent you to me,

24. ఆల కించుడి, నేను ఈ స్థలముమీదికిని దాని కాపురస్థులమీదికిని యూదారాజు సముఖమున చదివి వినిపింపబడిన గ్రంథమునందు వ్రాయబడియున్న శాపములన్నిటిని రప్పిం చెదను.

24. Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I will bring euill vpon this place, and vpon the inhabitantes thereof, euen all the curses, that are written in the booke which they haue read before the King of Iudah:

25. వారు నన్ను విసర్జించి యితర దేవతలకు ధూపము వేసి, తమ చేతిపనులవలన నాకు కోపము పుట్టించి యున్నారు గనుక నా కోపము ఈ స్థలముమీద మితి లేకుండ కుమ్మరింపబడును. నాయొద్దకు మిమ్మును పంపిన వానికి ఈ వార్త తెలుపుడి.

25. Because they haue forsaken me, and burnt incense vnto other gods, to anger mee with al the workes of their hands, therefore shall my wrath fall vpon this place, and shall not be quenched.

26. మరియు యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారించుడని మిమ్మును పంపిన యూదారాజుకు మీరు ఈ మాట తెలియజెప్పుడినీవు ఎవనిమాటలు విని యున్నావో ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన ఆ యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా

26. But to the King of Iudah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say vnto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The words which thou hast heard, shall come to passe.

27. నీ మనస్సు మెత్తనిదై యీ స్థలముమీదను దాని కాపురస్థులమీదను దేవుడు పలికిన మాటలను నీవు వినినప్పుడు నా సన్నిధిని నిన్ను నీవు తగ్గించుకొని నీ వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని నా సన్నిధిని కన్నీరు విడిచితివి గనుక నీ మనవిని నేను ఆలకించితిని.

27. But because thine heart did melt, and thou didest humble thy selfe before God, when thou heardest his wordes against this place and against the inhabitantes thereof, and humbledst thy selfe before mee and tarest thy clothes, and weptest before mee, I haue also heard it, sayth the Lord.

28. నేను నీ పితరులయొద్ద నిన్ను చేర్చుదును;నెమ్మదిగలవాడవై నీవు నీ సమాధిలోనికి చేర్చబడుదువు; ఈ స్థలముమీదికిని దాని కాపురస్థులమీదికిని నేను రప్పించు అపాయము నీవు కన్నులార చూడవు.

28. Beholde, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt bee put in thy graue in peace, and thine eyes shall not see all the euill, which I will bring vpon this place, and vpon the inhabitants of the same. Thus they brought ye King word againe.

29. వారు రాజునొద్దకు ఈ వర్తమానము తీసికొనిరాగా రాజు యూదా యెరూషలేములోని పెద్దలనందరిని పిలువ నంపించి

29. Then the King sent and gathered all the Elders of Iudah and Ierusalem.

30. వారిని సమకూర్చెను. రాజును, యూదా వారందరును, యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులును, యాజ కులును, లేవీయులును, జనులలో పిన్నపెద్దలందరును యెహోవా మందిరమునకు రాగా యెహోవా మందిర మందు దొరకిన నిబంధన గ్రంథపు మాటలన్నియు వారికి వినిపింపబడెను.

30. And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem, and the Priests and the Leuites, and all the people from the greatest to the smallest, and hee read in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant that was found in the house of the Lord.

31. పిమ్మట రాజు తన స్థలమందు నిలువబడి నేను యెహోవాను అనుసరించుచు, ఆయన ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞలను శాసనములను కట్టడలను పూర్ణమనస్సుతోను పూర్ణహృదయముతోను గైకొనుచు, ఈ గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడిన నిబంధన మాటల ప్రకారముగా ప్రవర్తించుదునని యెహోవా సన్నిధిని నిబంధన చేసికొనెను.

31. And the King stood by his pillar, and made a couenant before the Lord, to walke after the Lord, and to keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soule, and that he would accomplish the wordes of the couenant written in the same booke.

32. మరియు అతడు యెరూషలేమునందున్న వారినందరిని బెన్యామీనీ యులనందిరిని అట్టి నిబంధనకు ఒప్పుకొన జేసెను గనుక యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులు తమ పితరుల దేవుడైన దేవుని నిబంధన ప్రకారము ప్రవర్తించిరి.

32. And he caused all that were found in Ierusalem, and Beniamin to stande to it: and the inhabitants of Ierusalem did according to the couenant of God, euen the God of their fathers.

33. మరియు యోషీయా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు చెందిన దేశములన్నిటిలోనుండి హేయ మైన విగ్రహములన్నిటిని తీసివేసి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను సేవించునట్లు చేసెను. అతని దినములన్నియు వారు తమ పితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాను అనుసరించుట మానలేదు.

33. So Iosiah tooke away al the abominations out of all the countreis that perteined to the children of Israel, and compelled all that were found in Israel, to serue the Lord their God: so all his dayes they turned not backe from the Lord God of their fathers.
