1. అప్పుడు నయమాతీయుడైన జోఫరు ఈలాగున ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను

1. Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:

2. ఆలాగున నీవు చెప్పినందుకు నాయందలి ఆతురతతగిన ప్రత్యుత్తరము సిద్ధపరచియున్నది.

2. This is why my unsettling thoughts compel me to answer, because I am upset!

3. నాకు అవమానము కలుగజేయు నిందను నేను విన్నందుకు నా మనోవివేకము తగిన ప్రత్యుత్తరము సిద్ధపరచియున్నది.

3. I have heard a rebuke that insults me, and my understanding makes me reply.

4. దుష్టులకు విజయము కొద్దికాలముండును భక్తిహీనులకు సంతోషము ఒక నిమిష మాత్రముండును.

4. Don't you know that ever since antiquity, from [the time] man was placed on earth,

5. ఆది నుండి నరులు భూమిమీద నుంచబడిన కాలము మొదలుకొని ఈలాగు జరుగుచున్నదని నీకు తెలియదా?

5. the joy of the wicked has been brief and the happiness of the godless has lasted only a moment?

6. వారి ఘనత ఆకాశమంత యెత్తుగా పెరిగినను మేఘములంత యెత్తుగా వారు తలలెత్తినను

6. Though his arrogance reaches heaven, and his head touches the clouds,

7. తమ మలము నశించురీతిగా వారెన్నటికిని నుండకుండ నశించుదురు. వారిని చూచినవారు వారేమైరని యడుగుదురు.

7. he will vanish forever like his own dung. Those who know him will ask, 'Where is he?'

8. కల యెగసిపోవునట్లు వారు గతించి కనబడక పోవుదురు రాత్రి స్వప్నము దాటిపోవునట్లు వారు తరిమి వేయబడుదురు.

8. He will fly away like a dream and never be found; he will be chased away like a vision in the night.

9. వారిని చూచిన కన్ను ఇకను వారిని చూడదు వారి స్థలమున వారు మరి ఎప్పుడును కనబడరు

9. The eye that saw him will see [him] no more, and his household will no longer see him.

10. వారి సంతతివారు దరిద్రుల దయను వెదకెదరు వారి చేతులు వారి ఆస్తిని తిరిగి అప్పగించును.

10. His children will beg from the poor, for his own hands must give back his wealth.

11. వారి యెముకలలో ¸యౌవనబలము నిండియుండును గాని అదియు వారితో కూడ మంటిలో పండుకొనును.

11. His bones may be full of youthful vigor, but it will lie down with him in the grave.

12. చెడుతనము వారి నోటికి తియ్యగా నుండెనువారు నాలుకక్రింద దాని దాచిపెట్టిరి.

12. Though evil tastes sweet in his mouth and he conceals it under his tongue,

13. దాని పోనియ్యక భద్రము చేసికొనిరి, నోట దానినుంచుకొనిరి.

13. though he cherishes it and will not let it go but keeps it in his mouth,

14. అయినను వారి కడుపులో వారి ఆహారము పులిసిపోవును అది వారిలోపట నాగుపాముల విషమగును.

14. yet the food in his stomach turns into cobras' venom inside him.

15. వారు ధనమును మింగివేసిరి గాని యిప్పుడు దానిని మరల కక్కివేయుదురు.

15. He swallows wealth but must vomit it up; God will force it from his stomach.

16. వారి కడుపులోనుండి దేవుడు దాని కక్కించును. వారు కట్లపాముల విషమును పీల్చుదురు నాగుపాము నాలుక వారిని చంపును.

16. He will suck the poison of cobras; a viper's fangs will kill him.

17. ఏరులై పారుచున్న తేనెను వెన్నపూసను చూచివారు సంతోషింపరు.

17. He will not enjoy the streams, the rivers flowing with honey and cream.

18. దేని కొరకు వారు ప్రయాసపడి సంపాదించియుండిరో దానిని వారు అనుభవింపక మరల అప్పగించెదరు వారు సంపాదించిన ఆస్తికొలది వారికి సంతోషముండదు

18. He must return the fruit of his labor without consuming [it]; he doesn't enjoy the profits from his trading.

19. వారు బీదలను ముంచి విడిచిపెట్టినవారు వారు బలాత్కారముచేత ఒక యింటిని ఆక్రమించుకొనినను దానిని కట్టి పూర్తిచేయరు.

19. For he oppressed and abandoned the poor; he seized a house he did not build.

20. వారు ఎడతెగక ఆశించిన వారు తమ యిష్టవస్తువులలో ఒకదాని చేతనైనను తమ్మును తాము రక్షించుకొనజాలరు.

20. Because his appetite is never satisfied, he does not escape his desires.

21. వారు మింగివేయనిది ఒకటియు లేదు గనుక వారిక్షేమస్థితి నిలువదు.

21. Nothing is left for him to consume; therefore, his prosperity will not last.

22. వారికి సంపాద్యము పూర్ణముగా కలిగిన సమయమున వారు ఇబ్బందిపడుదురు దురవస్థలోనుండు వారందరి చెయ్యి వారిమీదికివచ్చును.

22. At the height of his success distress will come to him; the full weight of misery will crush him.

23. వారు కడుపు నింపుకొననైయుండగా దేవుడు వారిమీద తన కోపాగ్ని కురిపించును వారు తినుచుండగా దాని కురిపించును.

23. When he fills his stomach, God will send His burning anger against him, raining [it] down on him while he is eating.

24. ఇనుప ఆయుధము తప్పించుకొనుటకై వారు పారిపోగా ఇత్తడివిల్లు వారి దేహములగుండ బాణములను పోవిడు చును.

24. If he flees from an iron weapon, [an arrow from] a bronze bow will pierce him.

25. అది దేహమును చీల్చి వారి శరీరములోనుండి వచ్చును అది బయట తీయగా వారి శరీరములోనుండి పైత్యపు తిత్తి వచ్చును, మరణభయము వారి మీదికి వచ్చును.

25. He pulls it out of his back, the flashing tip out of his liver. Terrors come over him.

26. వారి ధననిధులు అంధకారపూర్ణములగును ఊదనక్కరలేని అగ్ని వారిని మింగివేయును వారి గుడారములో మిగిలిన దానిని అది కాల్చివేయును.

26. Total darkness is reserved for his treasures. A fire unfanned [by human hands] will consume him; it will feed on what is left in his tent.

27. ఆకాశము వారి దోషమును బయలుపరచును భూమి వారిమీదికి లేచును.

27. The heavens will expose his iniquity, and the earth will rise up against him.

28. వారి యింటికి వచ్చిన ఆర్జన కనబడకపోవును దేవుని కోపదినమున వారి ఆస్తి నాశనమగును.

28. The possessions in his house will be removed, flowing away on the day of God's anger.

29. ఇది దేవుని వలన దుష్టులైన నరులకు ప్రాప్తించుభాగము దేవునివలన వారికి నియమింపబడిన స్వాస్థ్యము ఇదే.

29. This is the wicked man's lot from God, the inheritance God ordained for him.
