1. వెండికి గని గలదు పుటమువేయు సువర్ణమునకు స్థలము గలదు.

2. ఇనుమును మంటిలోనుండి తీయుదురు రాళ్లు కరగించి రాగి తీయుదురు.

2. Iron is extracted from the earth, the smelted rocks yield copper.

3. మనుష్యులు చీకటికి అంతము కలుగజేయుదురు గాఢాంధకారములోను మరణాంధకారములోను ఉండు రత్నములను వెదకుచు వారు భూమ్యంతముల వరకు సంచరింతురు.

3. Man makes an end of darkness, to the utmost limit he digs the black rock in shadow dark as death.

4. జనులు తిరుగు స్థలములకు చాల దిగువగా మనుష్యులు సొరంగము త్రవ్వుదురు వారు పైసంచరించువారిచేత మరువబడుదురు అచ్చట వారు మానవులకు దూరముగానుండి ఇటు అటు అల్లాడుచుందురు.

4. Foreigners bore into ravines in unfrequented places, swinging suspended far from human beings.

5. భూమినుండి ఆహారము పుట్టును దాని లోపలిభాగము అగ్నిమయమైనట్లుండును.

5. That earth from which bread comes is ravaged underground by fire.

6. దాని రాళ్లు నీలరత్నములకు స్థానము దానిలో సువర్ణమయమైన రాళ్లున్నవి.

6. There, the rocks have veins of sapphire and their dust contains gold.

7. ఆ త్రోవ యే క్రూరపక్షికైనను తెలియదు డేగ కన్నులు దాని చూడలేదు

7. That is a path unknown to birds of prey, unseen by the eye of any vulture;

8. గర్వముగల క్రూర జంతువులు దాని త్రొక్కలేదు. సింహము ఆ మార్గమున నడవలేదు

8. a path not trodden by the lordly beasts, where no lion ever walked.

9. మనుష్యులు స్ఫటికమువంటి బండను పట్టుకొందురు పర్వతములను వాటి కుదుళ్ల సహితముగా బోర్ల ద్రోయుదురు.

9. Man attacks the flint, upturning mountains by their roots.

10. బండలలో వారు బాటలు కొట్టుదురు వారి కన్ను అమూల్యమైన ప్రతి వస్తువును చూచును.

10. He cuts canals through the rock, on the watch for anything precious.

11. నీళ్లు ఓడిగిలిపోకుండ వారు జలధారలకు గట్టు కట్టు దురు మరుగైయున్న వస్తువును వారు వెలుగులోనికి తెప్పించు దురు

11. He explores the sources of rivers, bringing hidden things to light.

12. అయితే జ్ఞానము ఎక్కడ దొరకును? వివేచన దొరకు స్థలము ఎక్కడ నున్నది?

12. But where does Wisdom come from? Where is Intelligence to be found?

13. నరులు దాని విలువను ఎరుగరు ప్రాణులున్న దేశములో అది దొరకదు.

13. No human being knows the way to her, she is not to be found on earth where they live.

14. అగాధము అది నాలో లేదనును సముద్రమునాయొద్ద లేదనును.

14. 'She is not in me,' says the Abyss; 'Nor here,' replies the Sea.

15. సువర్ణము దానికి సాటియైనది కాదు దాని విలువకొరకై వెండి తూచరాదు.

15. She cannot be bought with solid gold, nor paid for with any weight of silver,

16. అది ఓఫీరు బంగారమునకైనను విలువగల గోమేధికమునకైనను నీలమునకైనను కొనబడునది కాదు.

16. nor valued against gold of Ophir, precious agate or sapphire.

17. సువర్ణమైనను స్ఫటికమైనను దానితో సాటికావు ప్రశస్తమైన బంగారు నగలకు ప్రతిగా అది ఇయ్యబడదు.

17. Neither gold nor glass compares with her, for her, a vase of fine gold would be no exchange,

18. పగడముల పేరు ముత్యముల పేరు దానియెదుట ఎత్తనేకూడదు. జ్ఞానసంపాద్యము కెంపులకన్న కోరతగినది

18. let alone coral or crystal: better go fishing for Wisdom than for pearls!

19. కూషుదేశపు పుష్యరాగము దానితో సాటికాదు. శుద్ధసువర్ణమునకు కొనబడునది కాదు.

19. Topaz from Cush is worthless in comparison, and gold, even refined, is valueless.

20. అట్లైన జ్ఞానము ఎక్కడనుండి వచ్చును? వివేచన దొరకు స్థలమెక్కడ నున్నది?

20. But where does Wisdom come from? Where is Intelligence to be found?

21. అది సజీవులందరి కన్నులకు మరుగై యున్నది ఆకాశపక్షులకు మరుగుచేయబడి యున్నది.

21. She cannot be seen by any living creature, she is hidden from the birds of the sky.

22. మేము చెవులార దానిగూర్చిన వార్త వింటిమని నాశన మును మరణమును అనును.

22. Perdition and Death both say, 'We have heard only rumours of her.'

23. దేవుడే దాని మార్గమును గ్రహించును దాని స్థలము ఆయనకే తెలియును.

23. God alone understands her path and knows where she is to be found.

24. ఆయన భూమ్యంతములవరకు చూచుచున్నాడు. ఆకాశము క్రింది దానినంతటిని తెలిసికొనుచున్నాడు.

24. (For he sees to the remotest parts of the earth, and observes all that lies under heaven.)

25. గాలికి ఇంత బరువు ఉండవలెనని ఆయన నియమించి నప్పుడు ప్రమాణమునుబట్టి జలములకు ఇంత కొలతయని ఆయన వాటిని కొలిచి చూచినప్పుడు

25. When he willed to give weight to the wind and measured out the waters with a gauge,

26. వర్షమునకు కట్టడ నియమించినప్పుడు ఉరుముతో కూడిన మెరుపునకు మార్గము ఏర్పరచినప్పుడు

26. when he imposed a law on the rain and mapped a route for thunderclaps to follow,

27. ఆయన దాని చూచి బయలుపరచెను దానిని స్థాపనచేసి దాని పరిశోధించెను.

27. then he saw and evaluated her, looked her through and through, assessing her.

28. మరియు యెహోవాయందలి భయభక్తులే జ్ఞాన మనియు దుష్టత్వము విడచుటయే వివేకమనియు ఆయన నరులకు సెలవిచ్చెను.

28. Then he said to human beings, 'Wisdom? - that is fear of the Lord; Intelligence? - avoidance of evil.'
