1. వెండికి గని గలదు పుటమువేయు సువర్ణమునకు స్థలము గలదు.

1. There are mines where silver is dug; There are places where gold is refined.

2. ఇనుమును మంటిలోనుండి తీయుదురు రాళ్లు కరగించి రాగి తీయుదురు.

2. We dig iron out of the ground And melt copper out of the stones.

3. మనుష్యులు చీకటికి అంతము కలుగజేయుదురు గాఢాంధకారములోను మరణాంధకారములోను ఉండు రత్నములను వెదకుచు వారు భూమ్యంతముల వరకు సంచరింతురు.

3. Miners explore the deepest darkness. They search the depths of the earth And dig for rocks in the darkness.

4. జనులు తిరుగు స్థలములకు చాల దిగువగా మనుష్యులు సొరంగము త్రవ్వుదురు వారు పైసంచరించువారిచేత మరువబడుదురు అచ్చట వారు మానవులకు దూరముగానుండి ఇటు అటు అల్లాడుచుందురు.

4. Far from where anyone lives Or human feet ever travel, They dig the shafts of mines. There they work in loneliness, Clinging to ropes in the pits.

5. భూమినుండి ఆహారము పుట్టును దాని లోపలిభాగము అగ్నిమయమైనట్లుండును.

5. Food grows out of the earth, But underneath the same earth All is torn up and crushed.

6. దాని రాళ్లు నీలరత్నములకు స్థానము దానిలో సువర్ణమయమైన రాళ్లున్నవి.

6. The stones of the earth contain sapphires, And its dust contains gold.

7. ఆ త్రోవ యే క్రూరపక్షికైనను తెలియదు డేగ కన్నులు దాని చూడలేదు

7. No hawk sees the roads to the mines, And no vulture ever flies over them.

8. గర్వముగల క్రూర జంతువులు దాని త్రొక్కలేదు. సింహము ఆ మార్గమున నడవలేదు

8. No lion or other fierce beast Ever travels those lonely roads.

9. మనుష్యులు స్ఫటికమువంటి బండను పట్టుకొందురు పర్వతములను వాటి కుదుళ్ల సహితముగా బోర్ల ద్రోయుదురు.

9. Miners dig the hardest rocks, Dig mountains away at their base.

10. బండలలో వారు బాటలు కొట్టుదురు వారి కన్ను అమూల్యమైన ప్రతి వస్తువును చూచును.

10. As they tunnel through the rocks, They discover precious stones.

11. నీళ్లు ఓడిగిలిపోకుండ వారు జలధారలకు గట్టు కట్టు దురు మరుగైయున్న వస్తువును వారు వెలుగులోనికి తెప్పించు దురు

11. They dig to the sources of rivers And bring to light what is hidden.

12. అయితే జ్ఞానము ఎక్కడ దొరకును? వివేచన దొరకు స్థలము ఎక్కడ నున్నది?

12. But where can wisdom be found? Where can we learn to understand?

13. నరులు దాని విలువను ఎరుగరు ప్రాణులున్న దేశములో అది దొరకదు.

13. Wisdom is not to be found among mortals; No one knows its true value.

14. అగాధము అది నాలో లేదనును సముద్రమునాయొద్ద లేదనును.

14. The depths of the oceans and seas Say that wisdom is not found there.

15. సువర్ణము దానికి సాటియైనది కాదు దాని విలువకొరకై వెండి తూచరాదు.

15. It cannot be bought with silver or gold.

16. అది ఓఫీరు బంగారమునకైనను విలువగల గోమేధికమునకైనను నీలమునకైనను కొనబడునది కాదు.

16. The finest gold and jewels Cannot equal its value.

17. సువర్ణమైనను స్ఫటికమైనను దానితో సాటికావు ప్రశస్తమైన బంగారు నగలకు ప్రతిగా అది ఇయ్యబడదు.

17. It is worth more than gold, Than a gold vase or finest glass.

18. పగడముల పేరు ముత్యముల పేరు దానియెదుట ఎత్తనేకూడదు. జ్ఞానసంపాద్యము కెంపులకన్న కోరతగినది

18. The value of wisdom is more Than coral or crystal or rubies.

19. కూషుదేశపు పుష్యరాగము దానితో సాటికాదు. శుద్ధసువర్ణమునకు కొనబడునది కాదు.

19. The finest topaz and the purest gold Cannot compare with the value of wisdom.

20. అట్లైన జ్ఞానము ఎక్కడనుండి వచ్చును? వివేచన దొరకు స్థలమెక్కడ నున్నది?

20. Where, then, is the source of wisdom? Where can we learn to understand?

21. అది సజీవులందరి కన్నులకు మరుగై యున్నది ఆకాశపక్షులకు మరుగుచేయబడి యున్నది.

21. No living creature can see it, Not even a bird in flight.

22. మేము చెవులార దానిగూర్చిన వార్త వింటిమని నాశన మును మరణమును అనును.

22. Even death and destruction Admit they have heard only rumors.

23. దేవుడే దాని మార్గమును గ్రహించును దాని స్థలము ఆయనకే తెలియును.

23. God alone knows the way, Knows the place where wisdom is found,

24. ఆయన భూమ్యంతములవరకు చూచుచున్నాడు. ఆకాశము క్రింది దానినంతటిని తెలిసికొనుచున్నాడు.

24. Because he sees the ends of the earth, Sees everything under the sky.

25. గాలికి ఇంత బరువు ఉండవలెనని ఆయన నియమించి నప్పుడు ప్రమాణమునుబట్టి జలములకు ఇంత కొలతయని ఆయన వాటిని కొలిచి చూచినప్పుడు

25. When God gave the wind its power And determined the size of the sea;

26. వర్షమునకు కట్టడ నియమించినప్పుడు ఉరుముతో కూడిన మెరుపునకు మార్గము ఏర్పరచినప్పుడు

26. When God decided where the rain would fall, And the path that the thunderclouds travel;

27. ఆయన దాని చూచి బయలుపరచెను దానిని స్థాపనచేసి దాని పరిశోధించెను.

27. It was then he saw wisdom and tested its worth--- He gave it his approval.

28. మరియు యెహోవాయందలి భయభక్తులే జ్ఞాన మనియు దుష్టత్వము విడచుటయే వివేకమనియు ఆయన నరులకు సెలవిచ్చెను.

28. God said to us humans, 'To be wise, you must have reverence for the Lord. To understand, you must turn from evil.'
