1. నా జనులారా, నా బోధకు చెవియొగ్గుడి నా నోటిమాటలకు చెవియొగ్గుడి

1. Listen, my people, to my teaching, and pay attention to what I say.

2. నేను నోరు తెరచి ఉపమానము చెప్పెదను పూర్వకాలపు గూఢవాక్యములను నేను తెలియ జెప్పెదను.

2. I am going to use wise sayings and explain mysteries from the past,

3. మాకు తెలిసిన సంగతులను మా పితరులు మాకు వివరించిన సంగతులను చెప్పెదను.

3. things we have heard and known, things that our ancestors told us.

4. యెహోవా స్తోత్రార్హక్రియలను ఆయన బలమును ఆయన చేసిన ఆశ్చర్యకార్యములను దాచకుండ వాటిని వారి పిల్లలకు మేము చెప్పెదము.

4. We will not keep them from our children; we will tell the next generation about the LORD's power and his great deeds and the wonderful things he has done.

5. రాగల తరములలో పుట్టబోవు పిల్లలు దాని నెరుగు నట్లును వారు లేచి తమ పిల్లలకు దానిని వివరించునట్లును వీరును దేవునియందు నిరీక్షణగలవారై దేవుని క్రియలను మరువకయుండి

5. He gave laws to the people of Israel and commandments to the descendants of Jacob. He instructed our ancestors to teach his laws to their children,

6. యథార్థహృదయులు కాక దేవుని విషయమై స్థిరమనస్సులేనివారై తమ పితరులవలె తిరుగబడకయు

6. so that the next generation might learn them and in turn should tell their children.

7. మూర్ఖతయు తిరుగుబాటునుగల ఆ తరమును పోలియుండకయు వారు ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొనునట్లును

7. In this way they also will put their trust in God and not forget what he has done, but always obey his commandments.

8. ఆయన యాకోబు సంతతికి శాసనములను నియమించెను ఇశ్రాయేలు సంతతికి ధర్మశాస్త్రము ననుగ్రహించెను మన పితరులు తమ పుత్రులకు దానిని తెలుపవలెనని వారికాజ్ఞాపించెను

8. They will not be like their ancestors, a rebellious and disobedient people, whose trust in God was never firm and who did not remain faithful to him.

9. విండ్లను పట్టుకొని యుద్దసన్నద్ధులైన ఎఫ్రాయిము సంతతివారు యుద్ధకాలమున వెనుకకు తిరిగిరి

9. The Ephraimites, armed with bows and arrows, ran away on the day of battle.

10. వారు దేవుని నిబంధనను గైకొనకపోయిరి ఆయన ధర్మశాస్త్రము ననుసరింపనొల్లకపోయిరి

10. They did not keep their covenant with God; they refused to obey his law.

11. ఆయన క్రియలను, ఆయన వారికి చూపిన తన ఆశ్చర్య క్రియలను వారు మరచిపోయిరి.

11. They forgot what he had done, the miracles they had seen him perform.

12. ఐగుప్తుదేశములోని సోయను క్షేత్రమందు వారి పితరులు చూచుచుండగా ఆయన ఆశ్చర్యకార్యములను చేసెను.

12. While their ancestors watched, God performed miracles in the plain of Zoan in the land of Egypt.

13. ఆయన సముద్రమును పాయలుగా చేసి వారిని అద్దరికి నడిపించెను ఆయన నీటిని రాశిగా నిలిపెను

13. He divided the sea and took them through it; he made the waters stand like walls.

14. పగటివేళ మేఘములోనుండియు రాత్రి అంతయు అగ్నిప్రకాశములోనుండియు ఆయన వారికి త్రోవ చూపెను

14. By day he led them with a cloud and all night long with the light of a fire.

15. అరణ్యములో ఆయన బండలు చీల్చి సముద్రమంత సమృద్ధిగా వారికి నీరు త్రాగనిచ్చెను.

15. He split rocks open in the desert and gave them water from the depths.

16. బండలోనుండి ఆయన నీటికాలువలు రప్పించెను నదులవలె నీళ్లు ప్రవహింపజేసెను.

16. He caused a stream to come out of the rock and made water flow like a river.

17. అయినను వారు ఆయనకు విరోధముగా ఇంకను పాపముచేయుచునే వచ్చిరి అడవిలో మహోన్నతుని మీద తిరుగబడిరి.

17. But they continued to sin against God, and in the desert they rebelled against the Most High.

18. వారు తమ ఆశకొలది ఆహారము నడుగుచు తమ హృదయములలో దేవుని శోధించిరి.

18. They deliberately put God to the test by demanding the food they wanted.

19. ఈ అరణ్యములో దేవుడు భోజనము సిద్ధపరచగలడా యనుచు వారు దేవునికి విరోధముగా మాటలాడిరి.

19. They spoke against God and said, 'Can God supply food in the desert?

20. ఆయన బండను కొట్టగా నీరు ఉబికెను నీళ్లు కాలువలై పారెను. ఆయన ఆహారము ఇయ్యగలడా? ఆయన తన ప్రజలకు మాంసము సిద్ధపరచగలడా? అని వారు చెప్పుకొనిరి.

20. It is true that he struck the rock, and water flowed out in a torrent; but can he also provide us with bread and give his people meat?'

21. యెహోవా ఈ మాట విని కోపగించెను యాకోబు సంతతిని దహించివేయుటకు అగ్నిరాజెను ఇశ్రాయేలు సంతతిని హరించివేయుటకు కోపము పుట్టెను.

21. And so the LORD was angry when he heard them; he attacked his people with fire, and his anger against them grew,

22. వారు దేవునియందు విశ్వాసముంచకపోయిరి. ఆయన దయచేసిన రక్షణయందు నమ్మిక యుంచలేదు.

22. because they had no faith in him and did not believe that he would save them.

23. అయినను ఆయన పైనున్న ఆకాశములకు ఆజ్ఞాపించెను. అంతరిక్షద్వారములను తెరచెను

23. But he spoke to the sky above and commanded its doors to open;

24. ఆహారమునకై ఆయన వారిమీద మన్నాను కురిపించెను ఆకాశధాన్యము వారి కనుగ్రహించెను.

24. he gave them grain from heaven, by sending down manna for them to eat.

25. దేవదూతల ఆహారము నరులు భుజించిరి భోజనపదార్థములను ఆయన వారికి సమృద్ధిగా పంపెను.

25. So they ate the food of angels, and God gave them all they wanted.

26. ఆకాశమందు తూర్పు గాలి ఆయన విసరజేసెను తన బలముచేత దక్షిణపు గాలి రప్పించెను.

26. He also caused the east wind to blow, and by his power he stirred up the south wind;

27. ధూళి అంత విస్తారముగా మాంసమును సముద్రపు ఇసుక రేణువులంత విస్తారముగా రెక్కలు గల పిట్టలను ఆయన వారిమీద కురిపించెను.

27. and to his people he sent down birds, as many as the grains of sand on the shore;

28. వారి దండు మధ్యను వారి నివాసస్థలములచుట్టును ఆయన వాటిని వ్రాలజేసెను.

28. they fell in the middle of the camp all around the tents.

29. వారు కడుపార తిని తనిసిరి వారు ఆశించిన దానిని ఆయన అనుగ్రహించెను.

29. So the people ate and were satisfied; God gave them what they wanted.

30. వారి ఆశ తీరకమునుపే ఆహారము ఇంక వారి నోళ్లలో నుండగానే

30. But they had not yet satisfied their craving and were still eating,

31. దేవుని కోపము వారిమీదికి దిగెను వారిలో బలిసినవారిని ఆయన సంహరించెను ఇశ్రాయేలులో ¸యౌవనులను కూల్చెను.

31. when God became angry with them and killed their strongest men, the best young men of Israel.

32. ఇంత జరిగినను వారు ఇంకను పాపముచేయుచు ఆయన ఆశ్చర్యకార్యములనుబట్టి ఆయనను నమ్ముకొనక పోయిరి.

32. In spite of all this the people kept sinning; in spite of his miracles they did not trust him.

33. కాబట్టి ఆయన, వారి దినములు ఊపిరివలె గడచిపోజేసెను వారి సంవత్సరములు అకస్మాత్తుగా గడచిపోజేసెను.

33. So he ended their days like a breath and their lives with sudden disaster.

34. వారిని ఆయన సంహరించినప్పుడు వారు ఆయనను వెదకిరి వారు తిరిగి హృదయపూర్వకముగా దేవుని బతిమాలుకొనిరి.

34. Whenever he killed some of them, the rest would turn to him; they would repent and pray earnestly to him.

35. దేవుడు తమకు ఆశ్రయదుర్గమనియు మహోన్నతుడైన దేవుడు తమకు విమోచకుడనియు వారు జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనిరి.

35. They remembered that God was their protector, that the Almighty came to their aid.

36. అయినను వారి హృదయము ఆయనయెడల స్థిరముగా నుండలేదు ఆయన నిబంధనను వారు నమ్మకముగా గైకొనలేదు

36. But their words were all lies; nothing they said was sincere.

37. నోటి మాటతో వారు ఆయనను ముఖస్తుతిచేసిరి తమ నాలుకలతో ఆయనయొద్ద బొంకిరి.

37. They were not loyal to him; they were not faithful to their covenant with him.

38. అయితే ఆయన వాత్సల్యసంపూర్ణుడై వారిని నశింపజేయక వారి దోషము పరిహరించు వాడు. తన ఉగ్రతను ఏమాత్రమును రేపుకొనక పలుమారు కోపము అణచుకొనువాడు.

38. But God was merciful to his people. He forgave their sin and did not destroy them. Many times he held back his anger and restrained his fury.

39. కాగావారు కేవలము శరీరులై యున్నారనియు విసరి, వెళ్లి మరలి రాని గాలివలె నున్నారనియు ఆయన జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనెను.

39. He remembered that they were only mortal beings, like a wind that blows by and is gone.

40. అరణ్యమున వారు ఆయనమీద ఎన్నిమారులో తిరుగబడిరి ఎడారియందు ఆయనను ఎన్నిమారులో దుఃఖపెట్టిరి.

40. How often they rebelled against him in the desert; how many times they made him sad!

41. మాటిమాటికి వారు దేవుని శోధించిరి మాటిమాటికి ఇశ్రాయేలు పరిశుద్ధదేవునికి సంతాపము కలిగించిరి.

41. Again and again they put God to the test and brought pain to the Holy God of Israel.

42. ఆయన బాహుబలమునైనను విరోధులచేతిలోనుండి ఆయన తమ్మును విమోచించిన దినమునైనను వారు స్మరణకు తెచ్చుకొనలేదు.

42. They forgot his great power and the day when he saved them from their enemies

43. ఐగుప్తులో తన సూచక క్రియలను సోయను క్షేత్రమందు తన అద్భుతములను ఆయన చూపిన దినమును వారు జ్ఞప్తికి తెచ్చుకొనలేదు.

43. and performed his mighty acts and miracles in the plain of Zoan in the land of Egypt.

44. ఐగుప్తీయులు త్రాగలేకుండ నైలునది కాలువలను వారి ప్రవాహజలములను ఆయన రక్తముగా మార్చెను
ప్రకటన గ్రంథం 16:4

44. He turned the rivers into blood, and the Egyptians had no water to drink.

45. ఆయన వారిమీదికి జోరీగలను గుంపుగా విడిచెను అవి వారిని తినివేసెను కప్పలను విడిచెను అవి వారిని నాశనము చేసెను.

45. He sent flies among them, that tormented them, and frogs that ruined their land.

46. ఆయన వారి పంటను చీడపురుగులకిచ్చెను వారి కష్టఫలములను మిడతలకప్పగించెను.

46. He sent locusts to eat their crops and to destroy their fields.

47. వడగండ్లచేత వారి ద్రాక్షతీగెలను హిమముచేత వారి మేడిచెట్లను ఆయన పాడుచేసెను.

47. He killed their grapevines with hail and their fig trees with frost.

48. వారి పశువులను వడగండ్ల పాలుచేసెను. వారి మందలను పిడుగుల పాలుచేసెను.

48. He killed their cattle with hail and their flocks with lightning.

49. ఆయన ఉపద్రవము కలుగజేయు దూతల సేనగా తన కోపాగ్నిని ఉగ్రతను మహోగ్రతను శ్రమను వారిమీద విడిచెను.

49. He caused them great distress by pouring out his anger and fierce rage, which came as messengers of death.

50. తన కోపమునకు ఆయన త్రోవ చదునుచేసెను మరణమునుండి వారి ప్రాణమును తప్పింపక వారి జీవమును తెగులునకు అప్పగించెను.

50. He did not restrain his anger or spare their lives, but killed them with a plague.

51. ఐగుప్తులోని జ్యేష్ఠులనందరిని హాము గుడారములలోనున్న బలప్రారంభమైన ప్రథమసంతానమును ఆయన సంహరించెను.

51. He killed the first-born sons of all the families of Egypt.

52. అయితే గొఱ్ఱెలవలె ఆయన తన ప్రజలను తోడు కొనిపోయెను ఒకడు మందను నడిపించునట్లు అరణ్యములో ఆయన వారిని నడిపించెను

52. Then he led his people out like a shepherd and guided them through the desert.

53. వారు భయపడకుండ ఆయన వారిని సురక్షితముగా నడిపించెను. వారి శత్రువులను సముద్రములో ముంచివేసెను.

53. He led them safely, and they were not afraid; but the sea came rolling over their enemies.

54. తాను ప్రతిష్ఠించిన సరిహద్దునొద్దకు తన దక్షిణహస్తము సంపాదించిన యీ పర్వతము నొద్దకు ఆయన వారిని రప్పించెను.

54. He brought them to his holy land, to the mountains which he himself conquered.

55. వారియెదుటనుండి అన్యజనులను వెళ్లగొట్టెను. కొలనూలుచేత వారి స్వాస్థ్యమును వారికి పంచి యిచ్చెను. ఇశ్రాయేలు గోత్రములను వారి గుడారములలో నివసింపజేసెను.

55. He drove out the inhabitants as his people advanced; he divided their land among the tribes of Israel and gave their homes to his people.

56. అయినను వారు మహోన్నతుడైన దేవుని శోధించి తిరుగుబాటు చేసిరి ఆయన శాసనముల ననుసరింపకపోయిరి.

56. But they rebelled against Almighty God and put him to the test. They did not obey his commandments,

57. తమ పితరులవలె వారు వెనుకకు తిరిగి ద్రోహులైరి జౌకిచ్చు విల్లు పనికిరాకపోయినట్లు వారు తొలగిపోయిరి.

57. but were rebellious and disloyal like their ancestors, unreliable as a crooked arrow.

58. వారు ఉన్నతస్థలములను కట్టి ఆయనకు కోపము పుట్టించిరి విగ్రహములను పెట్టుకొని ఆయనకు రోషము కలుగ జేసిరి.

58. They angered him with their heathen places of worship, and with their idols they made him furious.

59. దేవుడు దీని చూచి ఆగ్రహించి ఇశ్రాయేలు నందు బహుగా అసహ్యించుకొనెను.

59. God was angry when he saw it, so he rejected his people completely.

60. షిలోహు మందిరమును తాను మనుష్యులలో సంస్థాపన చేసిన గుడారమును ఆయన విడిచిపెట్టెను.

60. He abandoned his tent in Shiloh, the home where he had lived among us.

61. ఆయన తన బలమును చెరకును, తన భూషణమైనదానిని విరోధులచేతికిని అప్పగించెను.

61. He allowed our enemies to capture the Covenant Box, the symbol of his power and glory.

62. తన ప్రజలను ఖడ్గమునకు అప్పగించెను. ఆయన తన స్వాస్థ్యముమీద ఆగ్రహించెను

62. He was angry with his own people and let them be killed by their enemies.

63. అగ్ని వారి ¸యౌవనస్థులను భక్షించెను వారి కన్యకలకు పెండ్లిపాటలు లేకపోయెను.

63. Young men were killed in war, and young women had no one to marry.

64. వారి యాజకులు కత్తిపాలుకాగా వారి విధవరాండ్రు రోదనము చేయకుండిరి.

64. Priests died by violence, and their widows were not allowed to mourn.

65. అప్పుడు నిద్రనుండి మేల్కొను ఒకనివలెను మద్యవశుడై ఆర్భటించు పరాక్రమశాలివలెను ప్రభువు మేల్కొనెను.

65. At last the Lord woke up as though from sleep; he was like a strong man excited by wine.

66. ఆయన తన విరోధులను వెనుకకు తరిమికొట్టెను నిత్యమైన నింద వారికి కలుగజేసెను.

66. He drove his enemies back in lasting and shameful defeat.

67. పిమ్మట ఆయన యోసేపు గుడారమును అసహ్యించుకొనెను ఎఫ్రాయిము గోత్రమును కోరుకొనలేదు.

67. But he rejected the descendants of Joseph; he did not select the tribe of Ephraim.

68. యూదా గోత్రమును తాను ప్రేమించిన సీయోను పర్వతమును ఆయన కోరుకొనెను.

68. Instead he chose the tribe of Judah and Mount Zion, which he dearly loves.

69. తాను అంతరిక్షమును కట్టినట్లు తాను భూమిని నిత్యముగా స్థాపించినట్లు ఆయన తన పరిశుద్ధమందిరమును కట్టించెను

69. There he built his Temple like his home in heaven; he made it firm like the earth itself, secure for all time.

70. తన దాసుడైన దావీదును కోరుకొని గొఱ్ఱెల దొడ్లలోనుండి అతని పిలిపించెను.

70. He chose his servant David; he took him from the pastures,

71. పాడిగొఱ్ఱెలను వెంబడించుట మాన్పించి తన ప్రజలైన యాకోబును, తన స్వాస్థ్యమైన ఇశ్రాయేలును మేపుటకై ఆయన అతనిని రప్పించెను.

71. where he looked after his flocks, and he made him king of Israel, the shepherd of the people of God.

72. అతడు యథార్థహృదయుడై వారిని పాలించెను కార్యములయందు నేర్పరియై వారిని నడిపించెను.

72. David took care of them with unselfish devotion and led them with skill.
