1. ఇశ్రాయేలు వంశస్థులారా, యెహోవా మిమ్మును గూర్చి సెలవిచ్చిన మాట వినుడి.

1. Hear the word of the LORD, that he speaketh unto thee, O thou house of Israel:

2. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నదేమనగా అన్యజనముల ఆచారముల నభ్యసింపకుడి, ఆకాశమందు అగపడు చిహ్నములకు జనములు భయపడును, అయితే మీరు వాటికి భయపడకుడి.

2. Thus sayeth the LORD: Ye shall not learn after the manner of the Heathen, and ye shall not be afraid for the tokens of heaven: for the Heathen are afraid of such:

3. జనముల ఆచారములు వ్యర్థములు, అడవిలో నొకడు చెట్టు నరకునట్లు అది నరకబడును, అది పనివాడు గొడ్డలితో చేసినపని.

3. Yea all the customs and laws of the Gentiles are nothing, but vanity. They hew down a tree in the wood with the hands of the workman, and fashion it with the axe:

4. వెండి బంగారములచేత పనివారు దానిని అలంకరింతురు, అది కదలక యుండునట్లు మేకులు పెట్టి సుత్తెలతో బిగగొట్టి దాని నిలుపుదురు.

4. they cover it over with gold or silver, they fasten it with nails(nales) and hammers, that it move not.

5. అవి తాటిచెట్టు వలె తిన్నగా ఉన్నవి, అవి పలుకవు నడువనేరవు గనుక వాటిని మోయవలసివచ్చెను; వాటికి భయపడకుడి అవి హానిచేయ నేరవు మేలుచేయుట వాటివలనకాదు.

5. It standeth as still as the palm tree, it can neither speak nor go, but must be borne. Be not ye afraid of such, for they can do neither good nor evil.

6. యెహోవా, నిన్ను పోలినవాడెవడును లేడు, నీవు మహాత్మ్యము గలవాడవు, నీ శౌర్యమునుబట్టి నీ నామము ఘన మైనదాయెను.

6. But there is none like unto thee, O LORD, thou art great, and great is the name of thy power.

7. జనములకు రాజా, నీకు భయపడని వాడెవడు? జనముల జ్ఞానులందరిలోను వారి రాజ్యము లన్నిటిలోను నీవంటివాడెవడును లేడు గనుక నరులు నీకు భయపడుట అనుగుణ్యము.

7. Who would not fear thee? Or what King of the Gentiles would not obey thee? For among all the wise men of the Gentiles, and in all their kingdoms, there is none that may be likened unto thee.

8. జనులు కేవలము పశుప్రాయులు, అవివేకులు; బొమ్మల పూజవలన వచ్చు జ్ఞానము వ్యర్థము.

8. They are all together unlearned and unwise. All their cunning is but vanity:

9. తర్షీషునుండి రేకులుగా సాగగొట్టబడిన వెండియు ఉపాజునుండి బంగారమును తెత్తురు, అది పని వాని పనియేగదా; పోతపోయువాడు దాని చేసెను, నీల ధూమ్రవర్ణములుగల వస్త్రములు వాటికున్నవి, అవన్నియు నేర్పరులగు పనివారి పనియే.

9. namely, wood, silver, which is brought out of Tharsis, and beaten to plates: and gold from Ophir, a work that is made with the hand of the craftsman and the caster, clothed with yellow silk and scarlet: even so is the work of their wise men altogether.

10. యెహోవాయే నిజమైన దేవుడు, ఆయనే జీవముగల దేవుడు, సదాకాలము ఆయనే రాజు, ఆయన ఉగ్రతకు భూమి కంపించును, జనములు ఆయన కోపమును సహింపలేవు.

10. But the LORD is a true God, a living God, and an everlasting king. If he be wroth, the earth shaketh: all the Gentiles may not abide his indignation.

11. మీరు వారితో ఈలాగు చెప్పవలెను ఆకాశమును భూమిని సృష్టింపని యీ దేవతలు భూమిమీద నుండ కుండను ఆకాశముక్రింద ఉండకుండను నశించును.

11. As for their gods, it may well be said of them: they are gods, that made neither heaven nor earth: therefore shall they perish from the earth, and from all things under heaven.

12. ఆయన తన బలముచేత భూమిని సృష్టించెను, తన జ్ఞానముచేత ప్రపంచమును స్థాపించెను, తన ప్రజ్ఞచేత ఆకాశమును విశాలపరచెను.

12. But (as for our God) he made the earth with his power, and with his wisdom hath he finished the whole compass of the world, with his discretion hath he spread out the heavens.

13. ఆయన ఆజ్ఞ నియ్యగా జలరాసులు ఆకాశమండలములో పుట్టును, భూమ్యంత భాగములలోనుండి ఆయన ఆవిరి ఎక్క జేయును, వర్షము కలుగునట్లుగా ఆయన మెరుపులు పుట్టించును, తన ధనా గారములలోనుండి గాలిని రావించును.

13. At his voice the waters gather together in the air, he draweth up the clouds from the utmost parts of the earth: he turneth lightning to rain, and bringeth forth the winds out of their treasures:

14. తెలివిలేని ప్రతి మనుష్యుడు పశుప్రాయుడు, పోతపోయు ప్రతివాడును తాను చేసిన విగ్రహమును బట్టి అవమానము నొందు చున్నాడు; అతడు పోతపోసినది మాయారూపము, అందులో ప్రాణమేమియు లేదు.

14. His wisdom maketh all men fools. And confounded be all casters of images, for that they cast, is but a vain thing, and hath no life.

15. అవి ఆశను చెడగొట్టు మాయాకార్యములు, విమర్శకాలములో అవి నశించి పోవును,

15. The vain craftsmen with their works, that they in their vanity hath made, shall perish one with another in the time of visitation.

16. యాకోబునకు స్వాస్థ్యమగువాడు వాటివంటి వాడు కాడు; ఆయన సమస్తమును నిర్మించువాడు, ఇశ్రాయేలు ఆయనకు స్వాస్థ్యముగానున్న గోత్రము; సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవాయని ఆయనకు పేరు.

16. Nevertheless, Jacobs portion is not such: but it is he, that hath made all things, and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of Hosts is his name.

17. నివాసినీ, ముట్టడివేయబడుచున్న దేశము విడిచి వెళ్లుటకై నీ సామగ్రిని కూర్చుకొనుము.

17. Put away thine uncleanness out of the land, thou that art in the strong cities.

18. యెహోవా ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడునేను ఈ వేళను ఈ దేశ నివాసులను విసరివేయుచున్నాను, వారు పట్టబడవలెనని వారిని ముట్టడి వేయించుచున్నాను.

18. For thus sayeth the LORD: Behold, I will now thrust out the inhabiters of this land a great way off, and trouble them of such a fashion, that they shall no more be found.

19. కటకటా, నేను గాయపడితిని, నా దెబ్బ నొప్పి పెట్టుచున్నది, అయితే ఈ దెబ్బ నాకు తగినదే యనుకొని నేను దాని సహించు దును.

19. Alas how am I hurt? Alas, how painful are my scourges unto me? For I consider this sorrow by myself, and I must suffer it.

20. నా గుడారము చినిగిపోయెను, నా త్రాళ్లన్నియు తెగిపోయెను, నా పిల్లలు నాయొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోయి యున్నారు, వారు లేకపోయిరి, ఇకమీదట నా గుడారమును వేయుటకైనను నా తెరల నెత్తుటకైనను ఎవడును లేడు.

20. My tabernacle is destroyed, and all may coards are broken. My children are gone from me, and can no where be found. Now have I none to spread out my tent, or to set up my hangings.

21. కాపరులు పశుప్రాయులై యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయరు గనుక వారే వర్ధిల్లకయున్నారు, వారి మందలన్నియు చెదరిపోవుచున్నవి.

21. For the herdmen have done foolishly, that they have not sought the LORD. Therefore have they dealt unwisely with their cattle, and all are scattered abroad.

22. ఆలకించుడి, ధ్వని పుట్టుచున్నది, దాని రాక ధ్వని వినబడుచున్నది, యూదా పట్టణములను పాడైన స్థలముగా చేయుటకును, నక్కలకు చోటుగా చేయుటకును ఉత్తరదేశమునుండి వచ్చుచున్న గొప్ప అల్లరి ధ్వని వినబడుచున్నది.

22. Behold, the noise is hard at hand, and great sedition out of the north: to make the cities of Juda a wilderness, and a dwelling place for dragons.

23. యెహోవా, తమ మార్గము నేర్పరచుకొనుట నరులవశములో లేదనియు, మనుష్యులు తమ ప్రవర్తనయందు సన్మార్గమున ప్రవర్తించుట వారి వశములో లేదనియు నేనెరుగుదును.

23. Now I know (O LORD) that it is not in man's power to order his own ways, or to rule his own steps and goings.

24. యెహోవా, నీవు నన్ను బొత్తిగా తగ్గింపకుండునట్లు నీ కోపమునుబట్టి నన్ను శిక్షింపక నీ న్యాయవిధిని బట్టి నన్ను శిక్షింపుము.

24. Therefore chasten thou us, O LORD, but with favour and not in thy wrath, bring us not utterly to naught.

25. నిన్నెరుగని అన్యజనులమీదను నీ నామమునుబట్టి ప్రార్థింపని వంశములమీదను నీ ఉగ్రతను కుమ్మరించుము; వారు యాకోబును మింగివేయుచున్నారు, నిర్మూలము చేయవలెనని వారు అతని మింగివేయుచున్నారు, వాని నివాసమును పాడుచేయుచున్నారు.

25. Pour out thine indignation rather upon the Gentiles, that know thee not, and upon the people that call not on thy name: And that because they have consumed, devoured and destroyed Jacob, and have rooted out his glory.
