1. కరవుకాలమున జరిగినదానిగూర్చి యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

1. The worde of the Lord that came vnto Ieremiah, concerning the dearth.

2. యూదా దుఃఖించు చున్నది, దాని గుమ్మములు అంగలార్చుచున్నవి, జనులు విచారగ్రస్తులై నేలకు వంగుదురు, యెరూషలేము చేయు అంగలార్పు పైకెక్కుచున్నది.

2. Iudah hath mourned, and the gates thereof are desolate, they haue bene brought to heauinesse vnto the grounde, and the cry of Ierusalem goeth vp.

3. వారిలో ప్రధానులు బీద వారిని నీళ్లకు పంపుచున్నారు, వారు చెరువులయొద్దకు రాగా నీళ్లు దొరుకుటలేదు, వట్టి కుండలు తీసికొని వారు మరల వచ్చుచున్నారు, సిగ్గును అవమానము నొందినవారై తమ తలలు కప్పుకొనుచున్నారు.

3. And their nobles haue sent their inferiours to the water, who came to the welles, and founde no water: they returned with their vessels empty: they were ashamed and confounded, and couered their heads.

4. దేశములో వర్షము కురువక పోయినందున నేల చీలియున్నది గనుక సేద్యము చేయువారు సిగ్గుపడి తలలు కప్పుకొనుచున్నారు.

4. For the grounde was destroyed, because there was no rayne in the earth: the plowmen were ashamed, and couered their heads.

5. లేళ్లు పొలములో ఈని గడ్డిలేనందున పిల్లలను విడిచిపెట్టు చున్నవి.

5. Yea, the hinde also calued in the fielde, and forsooke it, because there was no grasse.

6. అడవి గాడిదలును చెట్లులేని మెట్టలమీద నిలువబడి నక్కలవలె గాలి పీల్చుచున్నవి, మేత ఏమియు లేనందున వాటి కన్నులు క్షీణించు చున్నవి.

6. And the wilde asses did stande in the hygh places, and drew in their winde like dragons their eyes did faile, because there was no grasse.

7. యెహోవా, మా తిరుగుబాటులు అనేకములు, నీకు విరోధముగా మేము పాపముచేసితివిు; మా దోషములు మా మీద దోషారోపణ చేయుచున్నవి; నీ నామమును బట్టి నీవే కార్యము జరిగించుము.

7. O Lord, though our iniquities testifie against vs, deale with vs according to thy name: for our rebellions are many, we sinned against thee.

8. ఇశ్రాయేలునకు ఆశ్రయుడా, కష్టకాలమున వారికి రక్షకుడా, మా దేశములో నీ వేల పరదేశివలెనున్నావు? ఏల రాత్రివేళను బసచేయుటకు గుడారమువేయు ప్రయాణస్థునివలె ఉన్నావు;

8. O the hope of Israel, the sauiour thereof in the time of trouble, why art thou as a strager in ye land, as one that passeth by to tary for a night?

9. భ్రమసియున్నవానివలెను రక్షింపలేని శూరుని వలెను నీవేల ఉన్నావు? యెహోవా, నీవు మామధ్య నున్నావే; మేము నీ పేరుపెట్టబడినవారము; మమ్మును చెయ్యి విడువకుము.

9. Why art thou as a man astonied, and as a strong man that cannot helpe? yet thou, O Lord, art in the middes of vs, and thy Name is called vpon vs: forsake vs not.

10. యెహోవా ఈ జనులతో ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఈ జనులు తమ కాళ్లకు అడ్డములేకుండ తిరుగులాడుటకు ఇచ్ఛగలవారు గనుక యెహోవా వారిని అంగీకరింపడు; ఇప్పుడు ఆయన వారి అక్రమమును జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనును; వారి పాపములనుబట్టి వారిని శిక్షించును.

10. Thus saith the Lord vnto this people, Thus haue they delited to wander: they haue not refrained their feete, therefore the Lord hath no delight in them: but he will now remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes.

11. మరియు యెహోవా నాతో ఇట్లనెనువారికి మేలు కలుగునట్లు ఈ ప్రజల నిమిత్తము ప్రార్థన చేయకుము.

11. Then sayd the Lord vnto me, Thou shalt not pray to do this people good.

12. వారు ఉపవాసమున్నప్పుడు నేను వారి మొఱ్ఱను వినను; వారు దహనబలియైనను నైవేద్యమైనను అర్పించునప్పుడు నేను వాటిని అంగీకరింపను; ఖడ్గమువలనను క్షామమువలనను తెగులువలనను వారిని నాశము చేసెదను

12. When they fast, I will not heare their cry, and when they offer burnt offering, and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sworde, and by the famine and by the pestilence.

13. అందుకు నేను అయ్యో, ప్రభువైన యెహోవామీరు ఖడ్గము చూడరు మీకు క్షామము కలుగదు, ఈ చోటను నేను స్థిరమైన సమాధానము మీకిచ్చెదనని ప్రవక్తలు వారితో చెప్పుచున్నారవి నేననగా

13. Then answered I, Ah Lord God, beholde, the prophets say vnto them, Ye shall not see the sworde, neither shall famine come vpon you, but I wil giue you assured peace in this place.

14. యెహోవా నాతో ఇట్లనెనుప్రవక్తలు నా నామమునుబట్టి అబద్ధములు ప్రకటించుచున్నారు; నేను వారిని పంపలేదు, వారికి ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యలేదు, వారితో మాటలాడలేదు, వారు అసత్య దర్శనమును శకునమును మాయతంత్రమును తమ హృదయ మునపుట్టిన వంచనను ప్రకటన చేయుచున్నారు.

14. Then the Lord said vnto me, The prophets prophecie lyes in my Name: I haue not sent them, neither did I command them, neither spake I vnto them, but they prophecie vnto you a false vision, and diuination, and vanitie, and deceitfulnes of their owne heart.

15. కావున నేను వారిని పంపకపోయినను, నా నామమునుబట్టి ఖడ్గమైనను క్షామమైనను ఈ దేశములోనికి రాదని చెప్పుచు అబద్ధప్రవచనములు ప్రకటించు ప్రవక్తలను గూర్చి యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుఆ ప్రవక్తలు ఖడ్గమువలనను క్షామమువలనను లయమగుదురు.

15. Therefore thus saith the Lord, Concerning the prophets that prophecie in my Name, whom I haue not sent, yet they say, Sworde and famine shall not be in this land, by sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

16. వారెవరితో అట్టి ప్రవచనములు చెప్పుదురో ఆ జనులు క్షామమునకును ఖడ్గమునకును పాలై యెరూషలేము వీధులలో పడవేయ బడెదరు; నేను వారి చెడుతనమును వారిమీదికి రప్పించె దను. వారినైనను వారి భార్యలనైనను వారి కుమారులనైనను వారి కుమార్తెలనైనను పాతిపెట్టువాడెవడును లేక పోవును.

16. And the people to whome these prophets doe prophecie, shalbe cast out in the streetes of Ierusalem, because of the famine, and the sword, and there shall be none to bury them, both they, and their wiues, and their sonnes, and their daughters: for I wil powre their wickednes vpon them.

17. నీవు వారితో చెప్పవలసిన మాట ఏదనగానా జనుల కన్యక గొప్ప ఉపద్రవమువలన పీడింపబడుచున్నది, ఘోరమైన గాయము నొందియున్నది; దివారాత్రము మానక నా కన్నులనుండి కన్నీరు కారుచున్నది.

17. Therefore thou shalt say this worde vnto them, Let mine eyes drop downe teares night and day without ceasing: for the virgine daughter of my people is destroyed with a great destruction, and with a sore grieuous plague.

18. పొలము లోనికి నేను పోగా ఖడ్గముచేత హతులైనవారు కనబడుదురు, పట్టణములో ప్రవేశింపగా క్షామపీడితులు అచ్చట నుందురు; ప్రవక్తలేమి యాజకులేమి తామెరుగని దేశము నకు పోవలెనని ప్రయాణమైయున్నారు.

18. For if I go into the field, behold the slaine with the sworde: and if I enter into the citie, behold them that are sicke for hunger also: moreouer the Prophet also and the Priest go a wandring into a land that they know not.

19. నీవు యూదాను బొత్తిగా విసర్జించితివా? సీయోను నీకు అసహ్యమాయెనా? మాకు చికిత్స దొరకకుండునంతగా నీవేల మమ్మును కొట్టితివి? మేము సమాధానముకొరకు కని పెట్టుచున్నాము గాని మేలేదియు కనబడుటలేదు; చికిత్స కలుగు కాలముకొరకు కనిపెట్టుచున్నాము గాని భీతి తగిలియున్నది.

19. Hast thou vtterly reiected Iudah, or hath thy soule abhorred Zion? why hast thou smitten vs, that we cannot be healed? Wee looked for peace, and there is no good, and for the time of health, and behold trouble.

20. యెహోవా, మా దుర్మార్గతను మా పితరుల దోషమును మేము ఒప్పుకొనుచున్నాము; నీకు విరోధముగా పాపము చేసియున్నాము.

20. We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickednesse and the iniquitie of our fathers: for we haue sinned against thee.

21. నీ నామమునుబట్టి మమ్మును త్రోసివేయకుము, ప్రశస్తమైన నీ సింహాసనమును అవమానపరచకుము, మాతో నీవు చేసిన నిబంధనను జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుము, దాని భ్రష్ఠపరచకుమీ.

21. Doe not abhorre vs: for thy Names sake cast not downe the throne of thy glory: remember and breake not thy couenant with vs.

22. జనముల వ్యర్థ దేవతలలో వర్షము కురిపింపగలవారున్నారా? ఆకాశము వాననియ్యగలదా? మా దేవుడవైన యెహోవా, నీవే గదా దాని చేయుచున్నావు? నీవే యీ క్రియలన్నియు చేయు చున్నావు; నీకొరకే మేము కనిపెట్టుచున్నాము.

22. Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles, that can giue raine? or can the heauens giue showres? is it not thou, O Lord our God? therefore we will waite vpon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
