1. రాజైన సిద్కియా మల్కీయా కుమారుడైన పషూరును యాజకుడగు మయశేయా కుమారుడైన జెఫన్యాను పిలిపించి

1. These are the words that the LORD spake unto Jeremy, what time as king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Sophaniah the son of Maasiah priest, saying:

2. బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరు మనమీద యుద్ధముచేయుచున్నాడు; అతడు మనయొద్దనుండి వెళ్లి పోవునట్లు యెహోవా తన అద్భుతకార్యములన్నిటిని చూపి మనకు తోడైయుండునో లేదో దయచేసి మా నిమిత్తము యెహోవా చేత నీవు విచారించుమని చెప్పుటకు యిర్మీయాయొద్దకు వారిని పంపగా యెహోవాయొద్దనుండి యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన వాక్కు.

2. Ask counsel at the LORD (we Pray thee) of our behalf, for Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon beseigeth us, if the LORD (peradventure) will deal with us, according to his marvelous power, and take him from us.

3. యిర్మీయా వారితో ఇట్లనెను మీరు సిద్కియాతో ఈ మాట చెప్పుడి

3. Then spake Jeremy. Give Zedekiah this answer.

4. ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు బబులోను రాజుమీదను, మిమ్మును ముట్టడివేయు కల్దీయులమీదను, మీరుపయోగించుచున్న యుద్దాయుధములను ప్రాకారముల బయట నుండి తీసికొని యీ పట్టణము లోపలికి వాటిని పోగు చేయించెదను.

4. Thus sayeth the LORD God of Israel: behold, I will turn back the weapons, that ye have in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon and the Caldees, which besiege you round about the walls, and I will bring them together into the middest of this city,

5. కోపమును రౌద్రమును అత్యుగ్రతయు కలిగినవాడనై, బాహుబలముతోను, చాచిన చేతితోను నేనే మీతో యుద్ధము చేసెదను.

5. and I myself will fight against you, with an outstretched hand, and with a mighty arm, in great displeasure and terrible wrath:

6. మనుష్యులనేమి పశువులనేమి యీ పట్టణపు నివాసులనందరిని హతము చేసెదను; గొప్ప తెగులుచేత వారు చచ్చెదరు.

6. and will smite them, that dwell in this city, yea both man and cattle shall die of the pestilence.

7. అటు తరువాత నేను యూదాదేశపు రాజైన సిద్కియాను, అతని ఉద్యోగస్థులను, తెగులును ఖడ్గమును క్షామమును తప్పించుకొని శేషించిన ప్రజలను, బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరుచేతికి, వారి ప్రాణములను తీయజూచువారి శత్రువులచేతికి అప్పగించెదను. అతడు వారియందు అనుగ్రహముంచకయు, వారిని కరుణింపకయు, వారి యెడల జాలిపడకయు వారిని కత్తివాత హతముచేయును.

7. And after this (sayeth the LORD) I shall deliver Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his servants, his people, (and such as are escaped in the city, from the pestilence, sword, and hunger) into the power of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon: yea into the hands of their enemies, into the hands of those that follow upon their lives, which shall smite them with the sword: they shall not pity them, they shall not spare them, they shall have no mercy upon them.

8. ఈ ప్రజలతో నీవిట్లనుము యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా జీవమార్గమును మరణమార్గమును నేను మీ యెదుట పెట్టుచున్నాను.

8. And unto this people thou shalt say: Thus sayeth the LORD: behold, I lay before you the way of life and death.

9. ఈ పట్టణములో నిలుచువారు కత్తివలన గాని క్షామమువలనగాని తెగులువలనగాని చచ్చెదరు, మేలుచేయుటకుకాదు కీడుచేయుటకే నేను ఈ పట్టణమునకు అభిముఖుడనైతిని గనుక బయటకు వెళ్లి మిమ్మును ముట్టడి వేయుచున్న కల్దీయులకు లోబడువారు బ్రదుకుదురు; దోపుడుసొమ్ము దక్కినట్లుగా వారి ప్రాణము వారికి దక్కును.

9. Whoso abideth in this city, shall perish: either with the sword, with hunger, or with pestilence. But whoso goeth out to hold on the Caldees part, that besiege it, he shall save his life, and shall win his soul for a prey.

10. ఈ పట్టణము బబులోను రాజుచేతికి అప్పగింపబడును, అతడు అగ్నిచేత దాని కాల్చివేయును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

10. For I have set my face against this city (sayeth the LORD) to plague it, and to do it no good. It must be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and be brent with fire.

11. యూదారాజు ఇంటివారలకు ఆజ్ఞ యిదే యెహోవా మాట వినుడి.

11. And unto the house of the king of Judah, say thus: Hear ye the word of the LORD:

12. దావీదు వంశస్థులారా, యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు అనుదినము న్యాయముగా తీర్పు తీర్చుడి, దోచుకొనబడినవానిని బాధపెట్టువాని చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించుడి, ఆలాగు చేయనియెడల మీ దుష్టక్రియలనుబట్టి నా క్రోధము అగ్నివలె బయలువెడలి, యెవడును ఆర్పలేకుండ మిమ్మును దహించును.

12. (O house of David) for thus sayeth the LORD: Minister righteousness, and that soon, deliver the oppressed from violent power: or ever my terrible wrath break out like a fire, and burn so, that no man may quench it, because of the wickedness of your imaginations.

13. యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదేలోయలో నివసించుదానా, మైదానమందలి బండవంటిదానా, మా మీదికి రాగలవాడెవడు, మా నివాసస్థలములలో ప్రవేశించువాడెవడు? అనుకొనువార లారా,

13. Behold, (sayeth the LORD) I will come upon you that dwell in the valleys, rocks and fields, and say: Tush, who will make us afraid? or who will come into our houses?

14. మీ క్రియల ఫలములనుబట్టి మిమ్మును దండించెదను, నేను దాని అరణ్యములో అగ్ని రగుల బెట్టెదను, అది దాని చుట్టునున్న ప్రాంతములన్నిటిని కాల్చివేయును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

14. For I will visit you (sayeth the LORD) because of the wickedness of your inventions, and will kindle such a fire in your wood, as shall consume all, that is about you.
