1. యోషీయా కుమారుడును యూదారాజునగు యెహోయాకీము ఏలుబడి ఆరంభములో యెహోవా యొద్దనుండి వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను.

1. Soon after Jehoiakim became king of Judah, the LORD said:

2. యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చునదేమనగా, నీవు యెహోవా మందిరావరణములో నిలిచి, నేను నీ కాజ్ఞాపించు మాటలన్నిటిని యెహోవా మందిరములో ఆరాధించుటకై వచ్చు యూదా పట్టణస్థులందరికి ప్రకటింపుము; వాటిలో ఒక మాటైనను చెప్పక విడవకూడదు.

2. Jeremiah, I have a message for everyone who comes from the towns of Judah to worship in my temple. Go to the temple courtyard and speak every word that I tell you.

3. వారి దుర్మార్గమును బట్టి వారికి చేయదలచిన కీడును చేయక నేను సంతాపపడునట్లుగా వారు ఆలకించి తన దుర్మార్గము విడుచుదురేమో.

3. Maybe the people will listen this time. And if they stop doing wrong, I will change my mind and not punish them for their sins.

4. నీవు వారితో ఈ మాట చెప్పవలెను. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా

4. Tell them that I have said: You have refused to listen to me and to obey my laws and teachings.

5. మీరు నా మాటలు విని నేను మీకు నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రము ననుసరించి నడుచు కొనుడనియు, నేను పెందలకడ లేచి పంపుచున్న నా సేవకులగు ప్రవక్తల మాటలను అంగీకరించుడనియు నేను మీకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా మీరు వినకపోతిరి.

5. Again and again I have sent my servants the prophets to preach to you, but you ignored them as well. Now I am warning you that if you don't start obeying me right away,

6. మీరీలాగున చేసినందున నేను షిలోహునకు చేసినట్లు ఈ మందిరమున కును చేసెదను, ఈ పట్టణమును భూమిమీదనున్న సమస్త జనములకు శాపాస్పదముగా చేసెదను.

6. I will destroy this temple, just as I destroyed the town of Shiloh. Then everyone on earth will use the name 'Jerusalem' as a curse word.

7. యిర్మీయా యీ మాటలను యెహోవా మందిరములో పలుకుచుండగా యాజకులును ప్రవక్తలును జనులందరును వినిరి.

7. The prophets, the priests, and everyone else in the temple heard what I said,

8. జనుల కందరికిని ప్రకటింపవలెనని యెహోవా యిర్మీయాకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన మాటలన్నిటిని అతడు పలికి చాలించిన తరువాత యాజకులును ప్రవక్తలును జనులందరును అతని పట్టుకొని నీవు మరణశిక్ష నొందక తప్పదు.

8. and as soon as I finished, they all crowded around me and started shouting, 'Why did you preach that the LORD will destroy this temple, just as he destroyed Shiloh? Why did you say that Jerusalem will be empty and lie in ruins? You ought to be put to death for saying such things in the LORD's name!' Then they had me arrested.

9. యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి ఈ మందిరము షిలోహువలె నగుననియు, ఈ పట్టణము నివాసిలేక పాడైపోవుననియు నీవేల ప్రకటించుచున్నావు అనుచు, ప్రజలందరు యెహోవా మందిరములో యిర్మీయాయొద్దకు కూడివచ్చిరి.

10. యూదా అధిపతులు ఆ సంగతులు విని రాజు నగరులో నుండి యెహోవా మందిరమునకు వచ్చి, యెహోవా మందిరపు క్రొత్త గవిని ద్వారమున కూర్చుండగా

10. The royal officers heard what had happened, and they came from the palace to the new gate of the temple to be the judges at my trial.

11. యాజకులును ప్రవక్తలును అధిపతులతోను సమస్త ప్రజల తోను ఈలాగనిరి మీరు చెవులార వినియున్న ప్రకారము, ఈ మనుష్యుడు ఈ పట్టణమునకు విరోధముగా ప్రవచించుచున్నాడు; గనుక ఇతడు మరణమునకు పాత్రుడు.

11. While they listened, the priests and the prophets said to the crowd, 'All of you have heard Jeremiah prophesy that Jerusalem will be destroyed. He deserves the death penalty.'

12. అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా అధిపతులందరితోను జనులందరితోను ఈ మాట చెప్పెనుఈ మందిరమునకు విరోధముగాను ఈ పట్టణమునకు విరోధముగాను మీరు వినిన మాటలన్నిటిని ప్రకటించుటకు యెహోవాయే నన్ను పంపియున్నాడు.

12. Then I told the judges and everyone else: The LORD himself sent me to tell you about the terrible things he will do to you, to Jerusalem, and to the temple. But if you change your ways and start obeying the LORD, he will change his mind.

13. కాబట్టి యెహోవా మీకు చేసెదనని తాను చెప్పిన కీడునుగూర్చి ఆయన సంతాపపడునట్లు మీరు మీ మార్గములను మీ క్రియలను చక్కపరచుకొని మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాట వినుడి.

14. ఇదిగో నేను మీ వశములోనున్నాను, మీ దృష్టికేది మంచిదో యేది యుక్తమైనదో అదే నాకు చేయుడి.

14. You must decide what to do with me. Just do whatever you think is right.

15. అయితే మీకు చెవులార ఈ మాటలన్నిటిని చెప్పుటకు నిజముగా యెహోవా మీయొద్దకు నన్ను పంపియున్నాడు గనుక, మీరు నన్ను చంపినయెడల మీరు మీమీదికిని ఈ పట్టణముమీదికిని దాని నివాసుల మీదికిని నిరపరాధి రక్తదోషము తెప్పించుదురని నిస్సందేహముగా తెలిసికొనుడి.

15. But if you put me to death, you and everyone else in Jerusalem will be guilty of murdering an innocent man, because everything I preached came from the LORD.

16. కాగా అధిపతులును జనులందరును యాజకులతోను ప్రవక్తలతోను ఇట్లనిరి ఈ మనుష్యుడు మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి మనకు ఈ సమాచారము ప్రకటించుచున్నాడు గనుక ఇతడు మరణమునకు పాత్రుడు కాడు.

16. The judges and the other people told the priests and prophets, 'Since Jeremiah only told us what the LORD our God had said, we don't think he deserves to die.'

17. మరియు దేశమందలి పెద్దలలో కొందరు లేచి సమాజముగా కూడిన జనులతో ఈ మాటలు పలికిరి.

17. Then some of the leaders from other towns stepped forward. They told the crowd that

18. years ago when Hezekiah was king of Judah, a prophet named Micah from the town of Moresheth had said: 'I, the LORD All-Powerful, say Jerusalem will be plowed under and left in ruins. Thorns will cover the mountain where the temple now stands.'

19. అట్లు పలికి నందున యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియాయైనను యూదా జనులందరిలో మరి ఎవడైనను అతని చంపిరా? యెహోవా వారికి చేసెదనని తాను చెప్పిన కీడును చేయక సంతాప పడునట్లు రాజు యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగి యెహోవా దయను వేడుకొనెను గదా? మనము ఈ కార్యము చేసినయెడల మనమీదికే గొప్ప కీడు తెచ్చు కొందుము అని చెప్పిరి.

19. Then the leaders continued: No one put Micah to death for saying that. Instead, King Hezekiah prayed to the LORD with fear and trembling and asked him to have mercy. Then the LORD decided not to destroy Jerusalem, even though he had already said he would. People of Judah, if Jeremiah is killed, we will bring a terrible disaster on ourselves.

20. మరియు కిర్యత్యారీము వాడైన షెమయా కుమారుడగు ఊరియాయను ఒకడు యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి ప్రవచించుచుండెను. అతడు యిర్మీయా చెప్పిన మాటల రీతిని యీ పట్టణమునకు విరోధముగాను ఈ దేశమునకు విరోధముగాను ప్రవచించెను.

20. After these leaders finished speaking, an important man named Ahikam son of Shaphan spoke up for me as well. And so, I wasn't handed over to the crowd to be killed. While Jehoiakim was still king of Judah, a man named Uriah son of Shemaiah left his hometown of Kiriath-Jearim and came to Jerusalem. Uriah was one of the LORD's prophets, and he was saying the same things about Judah and Jerusalem that I had been saying. And when Jehoiakim and his officials and military officers heard what Uriah said, they tried to arrest him, but he escaped to Egypt. So Jehoiakim sent Elnathan son of Achbor and some other men after Uriah, and they brought him back. Then Jehoiakim had Uriah killed and his body dumped in a common burial pit.

21. రాజైన యెహోయాకీమును అతని శూరులందరును ప్రధానులందరును అతని మాటలు వినినమీదట రాజు అతని చంపజూచుచుండగా, ఊరియా దాని తెలిసికొని భయపడి పారిపోయి ఐగుప్తు చేరెను.

22. అప్పుడు రాజైన యెహోయాకీము అక్బోరు కుమారుడగు ఎల్నాతానును అతనితో కొందరిని ఐగుప్తునకు పంపెను;

23. వారు ఐగుప్తులోనుండి ఊరియాను తీసి కొనివచ్చి రాజైన యెహోయాకీమునొద్ద చేర్చగా, ఇతడు ఖడ్గముతో అతని చంపి సామాన్యజనుల సమాధిలో అతని కళేబరమును వేయించెను.
