1. యోషీయా కుమారుడును యూదారాజునైన యెహోయాకీము దినములలో యెహోవా యొద్దనుండి యిర్మీయాకు వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమై

1. When Jehoiakim was king of Judah, the LORD told me,

2. నీవు రేకాబీయుల యొద్దకు పోయి వారితో మాటలాడి, యెహోవా మందిరములోని గదులలో ఒకదానిలోనికి వారిని తోడుకొని వచ్చి, త్రాగుటకు వారికి ద్రాక్షారసమిమ్మని సెలవియ్యగా

2. 'Go to the Rechabite clan and invite them to meet you in one of the side rooms of the temple. When they arrive, offer them a drink of wine.'

3. నేను, యిర్మీయా కుమారుడును యజన్యా మనుమడునైన హబజ్జిన్యాను అతని సహోదరులను అతని కుమారులనందరిని, అనగా రేకాబీయుల కుటుంబికులనందరిని, తోడుకొని వచ్చితిని.

3. So I went to Jaazaniah, the leader of the clan, and I invited him and all the men of his clan.

4. యెహోవా మందిరములో దైవజనుడగు యిగ్దల్యా కుమారుడైన హానాను కుమారుల గదిలోనికి వారిని తీసికొని వచ్చితిని. అది రాజుల గదికి సమీపమున ద్వారపాలకుడును షల్లూము కుమారుడునైన మయశేయా గదికి పైగా ఉండెను.

4. I brought them into the temple courtyard and took them upstairs to a room belonging to the prophets who were followers of Hanan son of Igdaliah. It was next to a room belonging to some of the officials, and that room was over the one belonging to Maaseiah, a priest who was one of the high officials in the temple.

5. నేను రేకాబీయుల యెదుట ద్రాక్షారసముతో నిండిన పాత్రలను గిన్నెలను పెట్టిద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగుడని వారితో చెప్పగా

5. I set out some large bowls full of wine together with some cups, and then I said to the Rechabites, 'Have some wine!'

6. వారుమా పితరుడగు రేకాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోనా దాబుమీరైనను మీ సంతతివారైనను ఎప్పుడును ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగకూడదని మాకాజ్ఞాపించెను గనుక మేము ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగము.

6. But they answered: No! The ancestor of our clan, Jonadab son of Rechab, made a rule that we must obey. He said, 'Don't ever drink wine

7. మరియు మీరు ఇల్లు కట్టు కొనవద్దు, విత్తనములు విత్తవద్దు, ద్రాక్షతోట నాటవద్దు, అది మీకుండనేకూడదు; మీరు పరవాసముచేయు దేశములో దీర్ఘాయుష్మంతులగునట్లు మీ దినములన్నియు గుడారములలోనే మీరు నివసింపవలెనని అతడు మాకాజ్ఞాపించెను.

7. or build houses or plant crops and vineyards. Instead, you must always live in tents and move from place to place. If you obey this command, you will live a long time.'

8. కావున మా పితరుడైన రేకాబు కుమారుడగు యెహోనాదాబు మాకాజ్ఞాపించిన సమస్త విషయములలో అతని మాటనుబట్టి మేముగాని మా భార్యలుగాని మా కుమారులుగాని మా కుమార్తెలుగాని ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగుటలేదు.

8. Our clan has always obeyed Jonadab's command. To this very day, we and our wives and sons and daughters don't drink wine or build houses or plant vineyards or crops. And we have lived in tents,

9. మా తండ్రియైన యెహోనాదాబు మాకాజ్ఞాపించిన సమస్తమునుబట్టి మేము విధేయులమగు నట్లుగా కాపురమునకు ఇండ్లు కట్టుకొనుటలేదు, ద్రాక్షా వనములుగాని పొలములుగాని సంపాదించుటలేదు, విత్తనమైనను చల్లుటలేదు

10. గుడారములలోనే నివసించు చున్నాము.

11. అయితే బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరు ఈ దేశములో ప్రవేశింపగా కల్దీయుల దండునకును సిరియనుల దండునకును భయపడి, మనము యెరూషలేమునకు పోదము రండని మేము చెప్పుకొంటిమి గనుక మేము యెరూషలేములో కాపురమున్నామని చెప్పిరి.

11. except now we have to live inside Jerusalem because Nebuchadnezzar has taken over the countryside with his army from Babylonia and Syria.

12. అంతట యెహోవా వాక్కు యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యిలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనుఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా

12. Then the LORD told me to say to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: I, the LORD All-Powerful, the God of Israel, want you to learn a lesson

13. నీవు వెళ్లి యూదావారికిని యెరూషలేము నివాసులకును ఈ మాట ప్రకటింపుము యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదే. మీరు శిక్షకు లోబడి నా మాటలను ఆలకింపరా? యిదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

14. ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగవద్దని రేకాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోనాదాబు తన కుమారుల కాజ్ఞాపించిన మాటలు స్థిరముగా ఉన్నవి, నేటివరకు తమ పితరుని ఆజ్ఞకు విధేయులై వారు ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగకున్నారు; అయితే నేను పెందలకడ లేచి మీతో బహుశ్రద్ధగా మాటలాడి నను మీరు నా మాట వినకున్నారు.

14. from the Rechabite clan. Their ancestor Jonadab told his descendants never to drink wine, and to this very day they have obeyed him. But I have spoken to you over and over, and you haven't obeyed me!

15. You refused to listen to my prophets, who kept telling you, 'Stop doing evil and worshiping other gods! Start obeying the LORD, and he will let you live in this land he gave your ancestors.'

16. రేకాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోనా దాబు కుమారులు తమ తండ్రి తమకిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞను నెరవేర్చిరి గాని యీ ప్రజలు నా మాట వినకయున్నారు.

16. The Rechabites have obeyed the command of their ancestor Jonadab, but you have not obeyed me,

17. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవా ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను వారితో మాటలాడితిని గాని వారు వినకపోయిరి, నేను వారిని పిలిచితిని గాని వారు ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యకపోయిరి గనుక యూదావారి మీదికిని యెరూషలేము నివాసులందరి మీదికిని రప్పించెదనని నేను చెప్పిన కీడంతయు వారిమీదికి రప్పించుచున్నాను.

17. your God. I am the LORD All-Powerful, and I warned you about the terrible things that would happen to you if you did not listen to me. You have ignored me, so now disaster will strike you. I, the LORD, have spoken.

18. మరియు యిర్మీయా రేకాబీయులను చూచి యిట్లనెను ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు మీరు మీ తండ్రియైన యెహోనాదాబు ఆజ్ఞకు విధేయులై అతని విధులన్నిటిని గైకొని అతడు మికాజ్ఞాపించిన సమస్తమును అనుసరించుచున్నారు.

18. Then the LORD told me to say to the Rechabite clan: I am the LORD All-Powerful, the God of Israel. You have obeyed your ancestor Jonadab,

19. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా నా సన్నిధిలో నిలుచుటకు రేకాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోనాదాబునకు సంతతివాడు ఎన్నడునుండక మానడు.

19. so I promise that your clan will be my servants and will never die out.
