1. యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఈ పట్టణములో నిలిచియున్నవారు ఖడ్గముచేతనైనను క్షామము చేతనైనను తెగులుచేతనైనను చత్తురు గాని కల్దీయులయొద్దకు బయలు వెళ్లువారు బ్రదుకుదురు, దోపుడుసొమ్ముదక్కించు కొనునట్లు తమ ప్రాణము దక్కించుకొని వారు బ్రదుకుదురు.

1. And, when Shephatiah son of Mattan and Gedaliah son of Pashhur and Jucal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malchiah, heard the words which Jeremiah was speaking unto all the people saying:

2. యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఈ పట్టణము నిశ్చయముగా బబులోనురాజు దండుచేతికి అప్పగింపబడును, అతడు దాని పట్టుకొనును అని యిర్మీయా ప్రజల కందరికి ప్రకటింపగా

2. Thus saith Yahweh, He that remaineth in this city shall die, by sword by famine, or by pestilence, whereas, he that goeth forth unto the Chaldeans, shall live, so shall he have his life for a spoil, and shall live.

3. మత్తాను కుమారుడైన షెఫట్య యును పషూరు కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాయును షెలెమ్యా కుమారుడైన యూకలును మల్కీయా కుమారుడైన పషూరును వినిరి గనుక ఆ ప్రధానులు రాజుతో మనవి చేసిన దేమనగా ఈ మనుష్యుడు ఈ ప్రజలకు నష్టము కోరువాడేగాని క్షేమము కోరువాడుకాడు.

3. Thus, saith Yahweh, This city shall surely be given, into the hand of the force of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it.

4. ఇతడు ఇట్టి సమాచారము వారికి ప్రకటన చేయుటవలన ఈ పట్టణ ములో నిలిచియున్న యోధుల చేతులను ప్రజలందరి చేతులను బలహీనము చేయుచున్నాడు; చిత్తగించి వానికి మరణశిక్ష విధింపుము.

4. Then said the princes unto the king, Let this man we pray thee, be put to death, for in this way, is he weakening the hands of the men of war who are left in this, city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking unto them such words as these; for, this man, is not seeking prosperity for this people but misfortune.

5. అందుకు రాజైన సిద్కియా అతడు మీవశమున ఉన్నాడు, రాజు మీకు అడ్డము రాజాలడనగా

5. Then said King Zedekiah, Lo! he is in your hand; for the king is not one who is able to do anything against you.

6. వారు యిర్మీయాను పట్టుకొని కారా గృహములోనున్న రాజకుమారుడగు మల్కీయా గోతి లోనికి దింపిరి. అందులోనికి యిర్మీయాను త్రాళ్లతో దింపినప్పుడు ఆ గోతిలో నీళ్లు లేవు, బురదమాత్రమే యుండెను, ఆ బురదలో యిర్మీయా దిగబడెను.

6. Then took they Jeremiah and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah son of the king, which was in the guard-court, and they let Jeremiah down with ropes, now, in the dungeon, was no water only mire, so Jeremiah sank in the mire.

7. రాజు బెన్యామీను ద్వారమున కూర్చునియుండగా రాజు ఇంటి లోని కూషీయుడగు ఎబెద్మెలెకను షండుడు,

7. When Ebed-melech the Ethiopian one of the eunuchs, he being in the house of the king, heard that they had delivered Jeremiah into the dungeon, the king being seated in the gate of Benjamin,

8. వారు యిర్మీ యాను గోతిలో వేసిరను సంగతి విని, రాజు నగరులో నుండి బయలువెళ్లి రాజుతో ఈలాగు మనవి చేసెను

8. then went forth Ebed-melech out of the house of the king, and spake unto the king, saying:

9. రాజా, నా యేలినవాడా, ఆ గోతిలో వేయబడిన యిర్మీయా అను ప్రవక్తయెడల ఈ మనుష్యులు చేసినది యావత్తును అన్యాయము; అతడున్న చోటను అతడు అకలిచేత చచ్చును, పట్టణములోనైనను ఇంకను రొట్టె లేమియు లేవు.

9. My lord, O King! wickedly, have these men done all that they haw done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom indeed they have cast into the dungeon, since he would have died where he was because of the famine, for there is no bread any longer, in the city.

10. అందుకు రాజునీవు ఇక్కడనుండి ముప్పదిమంది మనుష్యులను వెంటబెట్టుకొనిపోయి, ప్రవక్త యైన యిర్మీయా చావకమునుపు ఆ గోతిలోనుండి అతని తీయించుమని కూషీయుడగు ఎబెద్మెలెకునకు సెలవియ్యగా

10. Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian saying, Take with thee from hence thirty men, and lift Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon before he die.

11. ఎబెద్మెలెకు ఆ మనుష్యులను వెంటబెట్టు కొని రాజనగరులో ఖజానా క్రింది గదిలోనికి వచ్చి,

11. So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence pieces of cast-off clothes, and old rags, and let them down unto Jeremiah in the dungeon with the ropes.

12. అచ్చటనుండి పాతవైన చింకిబట్టలను చిరిగి చీరాకులైన గుడ్డపాతలను తీసికొని పోయి, ఆ గోతిలోనున్న యిర్మీయా పట్టుకొనునట్లుగా త్రాళ్లచేత వాటినిదింపిపాతవై చిరిగి చీరాకులైన యీ బట్టలను త్రాళ్లమీద నీ చంకలక్రింద పెట్టుకొనుమని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

12. Then said Ebed-melech the Ethiopian unto Jeremiah, Put, I pray thee the pieces of cast-off clothes and the old rags under thine arm-joints, under the ropes, And Jeremiah did so,

13. యిర్మీయా ఆలాగు చేయగా వారు యిర్మీయాను త్రాళ్లతో చేదుకొని ఆ గోతిలోనుండి వెలుపలికి తీసిరి; అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా బందీగృహశాలలో నివసించెను.

13. Then drew they Jeremiah with the ropes, and lifted him up out of the dungeon, and Jeremiah remained in the guard-court.

14. తరువాత రాజైన సిద్కియా యెహోవా మందిరములో నున్న మూడవ ద్వారములోనికి ప్రవక్తయైన యిర్మీయాను పిలువనంపించి అతనితో ఇట్లనెనునేను ఒకమాట నిన్నడుగుచున్నాను, నీవు ఏ సంగతిని నాకు మరుగు చేయక దాని చెప్పుమనగా

14. Then King Zedekiah sent and fetched Jeremiah the prophet unto him, in the third entrance, which is in the house of Yahweh, and the king said unto Jeremiah I am going to ask thee a thing, do not hide anything from me.

15. యిర్మీయా నేను ఆ సంగతి నీకు తెలియజెప్పినయెడల నిశ్చయముగా నీవు నాకు మరణ శిక్ష విధింతువు, నేను నీకు ఆలోచన చెప్పినను నీవు నా మాట వినవు.

15. Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, When I tell thee, wilt thou not, surely put me to death? And when I counsel thee, thou wilt not hearken unto me.

16. కావున రాజైన సిద్కియా జీవాత్మను మన కనుగ్రహించు యెహోవాతోడు నేను నీకు మరణము విధింపను, నీ ప్రాణము తీయ జూచుచున్న యీ మనుష్యుల చేతికి నిన్ను అప్పగింపను అని యిర్మీయాతో రహస్యముగా ప్రమాణము చేసెను.

16. So King Zedekiah aware unto Jeremiah secretly saying, By the life of Yahweh who made for us, this soul, I will in no wise put thee to death, Neither will I deliver thee into the hand of these men who are seeking thy life.

17. అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా సిద్కియాతో ఇట్లనెనుదేవుడు, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడును సైన్యములకధిపతియునైన యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చు చున్నాడునీవు బబులోనురాజు అధిపతులయొద్దకు వెళ్లిన యెడల నీవు బ్రదికెదవు, ఈ పట్టణము అగ్నిచేత కాల్చబడదు, నీవును నీ యింటివారును బ్రదుకుదురు.

17. Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah Thus, saith Yahweh God of hosts, God of Israel If thou wilt, indeed go forth, unto the princes of the king of Babylon, then shall thine own soul live, and, this city, shall not be burned with fire, but thou shalt live, thou and thy house.

18. అయితే నీవు బబులోను అధిపతుల యొద్దకు వెళ్లనియెడల ఈ పట్టణము కల్దీయుల చేతికి అప్పగింపబడును, వారు అగ్ని చేత దాని కాల్చివేసెదరు, మరియు నీవు వారి చేతిలో నుండి తప్పించుకొనజాలవు.

18. But, if thou wilt not go forth unto the princes of the king of Babylon, then shall this city be delivered into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and, thou, shalt not escape out of their hand.

19. అందుకు రాజైన సిద్కియా యిర్మీయాతో ఇట్లనెనుకల్దీయుల పక్షముగా ఉండు యూదులకు భయపడుచున్నాను; ఒకవేళ కల్దీయులు నన్ను వారి చేతికి అప్పగించినయెడల వారు నన్ను అపహసించెదరు.

19. Then said King Zedekiah unto Jeremiah: I am afraid of the Jews who have fallen away unto the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me, into their hand, and they maltreat me.

20. అందుకు యిర్మీయావారు నిన్నప్పగింపరు, నీవు బ్రదికి బాగుగానుండునట్లు నేను నీతో చెప్పుచున్న సంగతినిగూర్చి యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చు మాటను చిత్తగించి ఆలకించుము.

20. But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver! Hearken I pray thee unto the voice of Yahweh in what I am speaking unto thee, that it may be well with thee and thy soul live.

21. నీవు ఒకవేళ బయలు వెళ్లక పోయినయెడల యెహోవా ఈ మాట నాకు తెలియజేసెను.

21. But if thou art refusing to go forth, this, is the thing which Yahweh hath shewed me:

22. యూదా రాజు నగరులో శేషించియున్న స్త్రీలందరు బబులోను అధిపతులయొద్దకు కొనిపోబడెదరు, ఆలాగు జరుగగా ఆ స్త్రీలు నిన్ను చూచినీ ప్రియస్నేహితులు నిన్ను మోసపుచ్చి నీ పైని విజయము పొందియున్నారు, నీ పాదములు బురదలో దిగబడియుండగా వారు వెనుకతీసిరని యందురు.

22. behold, then, all the women that are left in the house of the king of Judah, brought forth unto the princes of the king of Babylon, and, these very women, saying, The men thou wast wont to salute, have goaded thee on and prevailed upon thee, Thy foot having sunk in the mire, they have turned away back.

23. నీ భార్యలందరును నీ పిల్లలును కల్దీయులయొద్దకు కొనిపోబడుదురు, నీవు వారి చేతిలోనుండి తప్పించుకొనజాలక బబులోను రాజుచేత పట్టబడెదవు గనుక ఈ పట్టణమును అగ్నిచేత కాల్చుటకు నీవే కారణమగుదువు.

23. Yea thou shalt behold all thy wives and thy children brought forth unto the Chaldeans, and thou, shalt not escape out of their hand, but by the hand of the king of Babylon, shalt thou be taken, and, this city, shall be burned with fire.

24. అందుకు సిద్కియా యిర్మీయాతో ఇట్లనెనునీవు మరణశిక్ష నొంద కుండునట్లు ఈ సంగతులను ఎవనికిని తెలియనియ్యకుము.

24. Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah Do not let, any man, know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

25. నేను నీతో మాటలాడిన సంగతి అధిపతులు వినినయెడల వారు నీయొద్దకు వచ్చి మేము నిన్ను చంపకుండునట్లు రాజుతో నీవు చెప్పిన సంగతిని రాజు నీతో చెప్పిన సంగతిని మరుగుచేయక మాకిప్పుడే తెలియజెప్పుమనగా

25. But, when the princes hear that I have spoken with thee and they come in unto thee and say unto thee Do tell us we pray thee what thou didst speak unto the king, do not hide it from us so will we not put thee to death, and what spake the king unto, thee?

26. నీవు యోనాతాను ఇంటిలో నేను చనిపోకుండ అక్కడికి నన్ను తిరిగి వెళ్లనంపవద్దని రాజు ఎదుట నేను మనవి చేసికొనబోతినని వారితో చెప్పుమని రాజు యిర్మీయాతో అనెను.

26. Then shalt thou say unto them, I was causing my supplication to fall prostrate before the king, that he would not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan, to die there.

27. అంతట అధిపతులందరు యిర్మీయాయొద్దకు వచ్చి యడుగగా అతడు రాజు సెలవిచ్చిన మాటల ప్రకార ముగా వారికుత్తరమిచ్చి ఆ సంగతి వారికి తెలియజేయనందున వారు అతనితో మాటలాడుట మానిరి.

27. Then came in all the princes unto Jeremiah and asked him, and he told them according to all these words which the king, had commanded, so they turned in silence from him, for the matter, had not been reported.

28. యెరూష లేము పట్టబడువరకు యిర్మీయా బందీగృహశాలలో ఉండెను.

28. So Jeremiah remained in the guard-court, until the day when Jerusalem, was captured; thus it fell out when Jerusalem, was captured.
