1. రాజదేహసంరక్షకులకధిపతియైన నెబూజరదాను యెరూషలేములోనుండియు యూదాలోనుండియు బబులోనునకు చెరగా కొనిపోబడిన బందీ జనులందరిలోనుండి, సంకెళ్లచేత కట్టబడియున్న యిర్మీయాను తీసికొని రామాలో నుండి పంపివేయగా, యెహోవా యొద్దనుండి అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమైన వాక్కు.

1. The word that came from the Lord to Jeremiah, after that Nabuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go out of Ramah, when he had taken him in chains in the midst of the captivity of Judah, [even] those who were carried to Babylon.

2. రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి యిర్మీయాను అవతలికి తీసికొపోయి అతనితో ఈలాగు మాటలాడెను ఈ స్థలమునకు నేను ఈ కీడు చేసెదనని నీ దేవుడగు యెహోవా ప్రకటించెను గదా.

2. And the chief captain of the guard took him, and said to him, The Lord your God has pronounced all these evils upon this place;

3. తాను చెప్పిన ప్రకారము యెహోవా దాని రప్పించి చేయించెను, మీరు యెహోవాకు విరోధముగా పాపముచేసి ఆయన మాటలు వినక పోతిరి గనుక మీకీగతి పట్టినది.

3. and the Lord has done it; because you sinned against Him, and hearkened not to His voice.

4. ఆలకించుము, ఈ దినమున నేను నీ చేతుల సంకెళ్లను తీసి నిన్ను విడిపించుచున్నాను, నాతోకూడ బబులోనునకు వచ్చుట మంచిదని నీకు తోచినయెడల రమ్ము, నేను నిన్ను భద్రముగా కాపాడెదను; అయితే బబులోనునకు నాతోకూడ వచ్చుట మంచిదికాదని నీకు తోచినయెడల రావద్దు, దేశమంతట నీకేమియు అడ్డములేదు, ఎక్కడికి వెళ్లుట నీ దృష్టికి అను కూలమో, యెక్కడికి వెళ్లుట మంచిదని నీకు తోచునో అక్కడికి వెళ్లుము.

4. Behold, I have loosed you from the chains that were upon your hands. If it seems good to you to go with me to Babylon, then will I set my eyes upon you.

5. But if not, depart. Return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed governor in the land of Judah, and dwell with him in the midst of the people in the land of Judah. Or go to wherever places seems good in your eyes to go. And the captain of the guard made him presents, and let him go.

6. యిర్మీయా మిస్పాలోనుండు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వెళ్లి అతనితో కూడ దేశములో మిగిలిన ప్రజలమధ్య కాపురముండెను.

6. And he came to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and dwelt among his people that was left in the land.

7. అయితే అచ్చటచ్చటనుండు సేనల యధిపతులందరును వారి పటాలపువారును, బబులోనురాజు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాను దేశముమీద అధికారిగా నియమించి, బబులోనునకు చెరగొని పోబడక నిలిచినవారిలో స్త్రీలను పురుషులను పిల్లలను, దేశములోని అతినీరసులైన దరిద్రులను అతనికి అప్పగించెనని వినిరి.

7. And all the leaders of the army that were in the country, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah [governor] in the land, and they committed to him the men and their wives whom [Nebuchadnezzar had] not taken to Babylon.

8. కాగా నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును కారేహ కుమారులైన యోహానాను యోనాతానులును తన్హుమెతు కుమారుడైన శెరాయాయును నెటోపాతీయుడైన ఏపయి కుమారులును మాయ కాతీయుడైనవాని కుమారుడగు యెజన్యాయును వారి పటాలపువారును మిస్పాలో నుండిన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చిరి.

8. And there came to Gedaliah at Mizpah- Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

9. అప్పుడు షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యా ప్రమాణముచేసి వారితోను వారి పటాలపువారితోను ఈలాగు చెప్పెను - మీరు కల్దీయులను సేవించుటకు భయపడకుడి, దేశములో కాపురముండి బబులోనురాజును సేవించినయెడల మీకు మేలు కలుగును.

9. And Gedaliah swore to them and to their men, saying, Be not afraid before the children of the Chaldeans; dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

10. నేనైతేనో నాయొద్దకు వచ్చు కల్దీయుల యెదుట నిలుచుటకై మిస్పాలో కాపురముందును గాని మీరు ద్రాక్షారసమును వేసవికాల ఫలములను తైలమును సమకూర్చుకొని, మీ పాత్రలలో వాటిని పోసికొని మీరు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనిన పట్టణములలో కాపురముండుడి.

10. And behold, I dwell in your presence at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who shall come against you. And gather grapes, and fruits, and oil, and put [them] into your vessels, and dwell in the cities which you have obtained possession of.

11. మోయాబులో నేమి అమ్మోనీయుల మధ్యనేమి ఎదోములో నేమి యేయే ప్రదేశములలోనేమి యున్న యూదులందరు బబులోనురాజు యూదాలో జనశేషమును విడిచెననియు, షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యాను వారిమీద నియమించెననియు వినినప్పుడు

11. And all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and those [that were] in Edom, and those [that were] in all [the rest of] the country, heard that the king of Babylon [had] granted a remnant to Judah, and that he had appointed over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.

12. అందరును తాము తోలివేయబడిన స్థలములన్నిటిని విడిచి మిస్పాకు గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి బహు విస్తారము ద్రాక్షారసమును వేసవికాలపు పండ్లను సమకూర్చుకొనిరి.

12. And they came to Gedaliah into the land of Judah, to Mizpah, and gathered grapes, and very much summer fruit, and oil.

13. మరియు కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానును, అచ్చటచ్చటనున్న సేనల యధిపతులందరును మిస్పా లోనున్న గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి

13. And Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the leaders of the army, who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah at Mizpah,

14. నిన్ను చంపుటకు అమ్మోనీయుల రాజైన బయలీను నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును పంపెనని నీకు తెలియదా అని చెప్పిరి. అయితే అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా వారి మాట నమ్మలేదు.

14. and said to him, Do you indeed know that King Baalis son of Ammon has sent Ismael to you, to kill you? But Gedaliah did not believe them.

15. కారేహ కుమారుడగు యోహానాను మిస్పాలో గెదల్యాతో రహస్యముగా ఇట్లనెను నీ యొద్దకు కూడివచ్చిన యూదులందరు చెదరిపోవునట్లును, యూదా జనశేషము నశించు నట్లును నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు నిన్ను చంపనేల?దయచేసి నన్ను వెళ్లనిమ్ము, ఎవనికి తెలియకుండ నేను వానిని చంపెదను.

15. And Johanan said to Gedaliah secretly in Mizpah, I will go now and kill Ishmael, and let no man know [it]; lest he kill you, and all the Jews that are gathered to you be dispersed, and the remnant of Judah perish.

16. అందుకు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానుతో ఇష్మాయేలునుగూర్చి నీవు అబద్ధమాడుచున్నావు, నీవాకార్యము చేయకూడదనెను.

16. But Gedaliah said to Johanan, Do not do this thing, for you speak lies concerning Ishmael.
