1. యెహోవాయొద్దనుండి యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన వాక్కు

1. THE WORD that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

2. నీవు యెహోవా మందిర ద్వారమున నిలువ బడి ఈ మాట అచ్చటనే ప్రకటింపుము యెహోవాకు నమస్కారముచేయుటకై యీ ద్వారములలో బడి ప్రవేశించు యూదావారలారా, యెహోవా మాట వినుడి.

2. Stand in the gate of the Lord's house and proclaim there this word and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.

3. సైన్యములకధిపతియు ఇశ్రాయేలుయొక్క దేవుడునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను ఈ స్థలమున మిమ్మును నివసింపజేయునట్లు మీ మార్గములను మీ క్రియలను దిద్దుకొనుడి

3. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

4. ఈ స్థలము యెహోవా ఆలయము, ఈ స్థలము యెహోవా ఆలయము, ఈ స్థలము యెహోవా ఆలయము అని మీరు చెప్పుకొనుచున్నారే; యీ మోసకరమైన మాటలు ఆధారము చేసికొనకుడి.

4. Trust not in the lying words [of the false prophets who maintain that God will protect Jerusalem because His temple is there], saying, This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.

5. ఆలాగనక, మీ మార్గములను మీ క్రియలను మీరు యథార్థముగా చక్కపరచుకొని, ప్రతివాడు తన పొరుగు వానియెడల తప్పక న్యాయము జరిగించి.

5. For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly and truly execute justice between every man and his neighbor,

6. పరదేశులను తండ్రిలేని వారిని విధవరాండ్రను బాధింపకయు ఈ చోట నిర్దోషిరక్తము చిందింపకయు, మీకు కీడు కలుగజేయు అన్యదేవతలను అనుసరింపకయు నుండినయెడల

6. If you do not oppress the transient and the alien, the fatherless, and the widow or shed innocent blood [by oppression and by judicial murders] in [Jerusalem] or go after other gods to your own hurt,

7. ఈ స్థలమున తమకు నిత్యముగా నుండుటకై పూర్వకాలమున నేను మీ పితరులకిచ్చిన దేశమున మిమ్మును కాపురముంచుదును.

7. Then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers to dwell in forever.

8. ఇదిగో అబద్ధపుమాటలను మీరు నమ్ముకొను చున్నారు. అవి మీకు నిష్‌ప్రయోజనములు.

8. Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot benefit [so that you do not profit].

9. ఇదేమి? మీరు జారచోర క్రియలను నరహత్యను చేయుచు

9. Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and go after other gods that you have not known,

10. అబద్ధసాక్ష్యము పలుకుచు బయలునకు ధూపమువేయుచు మీరెరుగని దేవతలను అనుసరించుచున్నారే; అయినను నా నామము పెట్టబడిన యీ మందిరములోనికి వచ్చి నా సన్నిధిని నిలుచుచు విడుదలనొందియున్నామని మీరు చెప్పుదురు; ఈ హేయక్రియలన్నియు జరిగించుటకేనా మీరు విడుదలనొందితిరి?

10. And [then dare to] come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My Name, and say, [By the discharge of this religious formality] we are set free!--only to go on with this wickedness and these abominations?

11. నాదని చాటబడిన యీ మంది రము మీ దృష్టికి దొంగలగుహయైనదా? ఆలోచించుడి, నేనే యీ సంగతి కనుగొనుచున్నాను. ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

11. Has this house, which is called by My Name, become a den of robbers in your eyes [a place of retreat for you between acts of violence]? Behold, I Myself have seen it, says the Lord.

12. పూర్వమున నేను నా నామము నిలిపిన షిలోహునందున్న నా స్థలమునకు పోయి విచారణ చేయుడి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులైన నా జనుల దుష్టత్వమును బట్టి నేను దానికి చేసిన కార్యము చూడుడి; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

12. But go now to My place which was in Shiloh [in Ephraim], where I set My Name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of My people Israel. [I Sam. 4:10-18.]

13. నేను మీతో మాటలాడినను పెందలకడ లేచి మీతో మాటలాడినను మీరు వినకయు, మిమ్మును పిలిచినను మీరు ఉత్తరమియ్యకయు నుండినవారై యీ క్రియలన్నిటిని చేసితిరి గనుక

13. And now, because you have done all these things, says the Lord, and [because] when I spoke to you persistently [even rising up early and speaking], you did not listen, and when I called you, you did not answer,

14. నేను షిలోహునకు చేసినట్లు మీకు ఆశ్రయమై నా నామముపెట్టబడిన యీ మందిరమునకును మీకును మీ తండ్రులకును నేనిచ్చిన స్థలమునకును నేను ఆలాగే చేయుదును.

14. Therefore will I do to this house (the temple), which is called by My Name and in which you trust, to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

15. ఎఫ్రాయిము సంతానమగు మీ సహోదరులనందరిని నేను వెళ్లగొట్టినట్లు మిమ్మును నా సన్నిధినుండి వెళ్లగొట్టుదును.

15. And I will cast you out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole posterity of Ephraim.

16. కాబట్టి నీవు ఈ జనము కొరకు ప్రార్థనచేయకుము, వారికొరకు మొఱ్ఱ నైనను ప్రార్థననైనను చేయకుము, నన్ను బతిమాలుకొనకుము, నేను నీ మాట వినను.

16. Therefore do not pray for this people [of Judah] or lift up a cry or entreaty for them or make intercession to Me, for I will not listen to or hear you.

17. యూదాపట్టణములలోను యెరూషలేము వీధులలోను వారు చేయుచున్న క్రియలను నీవు చూచుచున్నావు గదా.

17. Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

18. నాకు కోపము పుట్టించునట్లు ఆకాశరాణి దేవతకు పిండివంటలు చేయవలెననియు, అన్య దేవతలకు పానార్పణములు పోయవలెననియు పిల్లలు కట్టెలు ఏరుచున్నారు తండ్రులు అగ్ని రాజ బెట్టుచున్నారు స్త్రీలు పిండి పిసుకుచున్నారు.

18. The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger!

19. నాకే కోపము పుట్టించునంతగా వారు దాని చేయుచున్నారా? తమకే అవమానము కలుగు నంతగా చేయుచున్నారు గదా, యిదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

19. Am I the One Whom they provoke to anger? says the Lord. Is it not themselves [whom they provoke], to their own confusion and vexation and to their own shame?

20. అందువలన ప్రభువగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఈ స్థలముమీదను నరులమీదను జంతువులమీదను పొలముల చెట్లమీదను భూమిపంట మీదను నా కోపమును నా ఉగ్రతను కుమ్మరించెదను, ఆర్పశక్యము కాకుండ అది మండును.

20. Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, My anger and My wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the field and the fruit of the ground; it will burn and not be quenched.

21. సైన్యములకధిపతియు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు మీ దహన బలులను మీ బలులను కలిపి మాంసము భక్షించుడి.

21. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat the flesh [if you will. It will avail you nothing].

22. నేను ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనుండి మీ పితరులను రప్పించిన దినమున దహనబలులనుగూర్చిగాని బలులనుగూర్చిగాని నేను వారితో చెప్పలేదు, అట్టి వాటినిగూర్చి నేను ఏ ఆజ్ఞయు ఇయ్యలేదు, ఈ ఆజ్ఞను మాత్రమే నేను వానికిచ్చి తిని

22. For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.

23. ఏదనగానా మాటలు మీరు అంగీకరించినయెడల నేను మీకు దేవుడనై యుందును మీరు నాకు జనులై యుందురు; మీకు క్షేమము కలుగునట్లు నేను మీకాజ్ఞా పించుచున్న మార్గమంతటియందు మీరు నడుచుకొనుడి.

23. But this thing I did command them: Listen to and obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people; and walk in the whole way that I command you, that it may be well with you.

24. అయితే వారు వినకపోయిరి, చెవియొగ్గకుండిరి, ముందుకు సాగక వెనుకదీయుచు తమ ఆలోచనలనుబట్టి తమ దుష్ట హృదయకాఠిన్యము ననుసరించి నడుచుచు వచ్చిరి.

24. But they would not listen to and obey Me or bend their ear [to Me], but followed the counsels and the stubborn promptings of their own evil hearts and minds, and they turned their backs and went in reverse instead of forward.

25. మీ పితరులు ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనుండి బయలుదేరి వచ్చిన దినము మొదలుకొని నేటివరకు మీరు వెనుకదీయుచు వచ్చిన వారే; నేను అనుదినము పెందలకడ లేచి ప్రవక్తలైన నా సేవకులనందరిని మీ యొద్దకు పంపుచు వచ్చితిని.

25. Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have persistently sent to you all My servants the prophets, sending them daily, early and late.

26. వారు నా మాట వినకయున్నారు చెవియొగ్గకయున్నారు తమ మెడను వంచక మనస్సును కఠినపరచుకొనుచున్నారు; వారు తమ పితరులకంటె మరి దుష్టులైరి.

26. Yet the people would not listen to and obey Me or bend their ears [to Me], but stiffened their necks and behaved worse than their fathers.

27. నీవు ఈ మాటలన్నియు వారితో చెప్పినను వారు నీ మాటలంగీకరింపరు, నీవు వారిని పిలిచినను వారు నీకుత్తరమియ్యరు

27. Speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to and obey you; also call to them, but they will not answer you.

28. గనుక నీవు వారితో ఈలాగు చెప్పుము - వీరు తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాట విననివారు, శిక్షకు లోబడనొల్లనివారు, కాబట్టి నమ్మకము వారిలోనుండి తొలగిపోయియున్నది, అది వారి నోట నుండకుండ కొట్టి వేయబడియున్నది.

28. Yet you shall say to them, This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God or receive instruction and correction and warning; truth and faithfulness have perished and have completely vanished from their mouths.

29. తనకు కోపము తెప్పించు తరమువారిని యెహోవా విసర్జించి వెళ్లగొట్టుచున్నాడు; సీయోనూ నీ తలవెండ్రు కలను కత్తిరించుకొనుము, వాటిని పారవేయుము, చెట్లులేని మెట్టలమీద ప్రలాపవాక్య మెత్తుము.

29. Cut off your hair [your crown, O Jerusalem] and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights, for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.

30. యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుయూదా వారు నా దృష్టికి చెడ్డక్రియలు చేయుచున్నారు, నా నామముపెట్టబడిన మందిరము అపవిత్రపడునట్లు వారు దానిలో హేయ వస్తువులను ఉంచియున్నారు.

30. For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight, says the Lord; they have set their abominations (extremely disgusting and shamefully vile things) in the house which is called by My Name to defile it.

31. నేనాజ్ఞాపించని క్రియను నాకు తోచని క్రియను వారు చేసియున్నారు, అగ్నిలో తమ కుమారులను తమ కుమార్తెలను దహించుటకు బెన్‌ హిన్నోము లోయలోనున్న తోఫెతునందు బలిపీఠములను కట్టుకొనియున్నారు.

31. And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of Ben-hinnom [son of Hinnom], to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire [in honor of Molech, the fire god]--which I did not command, nor did it come into My mind or heart. [Lev. 18:21; Josh. 15:8; II Kings 16:2-3; 21:1, 6; Isa. 30:33.]

32. కాలము సమీపించుచున్నది; అప్పుడు అది తోఫెతు అనియైనను బెన్‌హిన్నోము లోయ అనియైనను అనబడక వధలోయ అనబడును; పాతిపెట్టు టకు స్థలము లేకపోవువరకు తోఫెతులో శవములు పాతి పెట్టబడును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

32. Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when it shall no more be called Topheth or the Valley of Ben-hinnom [son of Hinnom], but the Valley of Slaughter, for [in bloody warfare] they will bury in Topheth till there is no more room and no place else to bury. [Jer. 19:6.]

33. ఈ జనుల శవములు ఆకాశపక్షులకును భూజంతువులకును ఆహారమగును, వాటిని తోలివేయువాడు లేకపోవును.

33. And the dead bodies of this people will be meat for the fowls of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and none will frighten them away.

34. ఉల్లాస ధ్వనియు ఆనందధ్వనియు పెండ్లికుమారుని స్వరమును పెండ్లికుమార్తె స్వరమును యూదా పట్టణములలోను యెరూషలేము వీధులలోను లేకుండచేసెదను; ఈ దేశము తప్పక పాడైపోవును.

34. Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land will become a waste.
