1. నా జనులలో హతమైనవారినిగూర్చి నేను దివారాత్రము కన్నీరు విడుచునట్లు నా తల జలమయము గాను నా కన్ను కన్నీళ్ల ఊటగాను ఉండును గాక.

1. Would that I had in the desert a travelers' lodge! That I might leave my people and depart from them. They are all adulterers, a faithless band.

2. నా జనులందరు వ్యభిచారులును ద్రోహుల సమూహమునై యున్నారు. అహహా, అరణ్యములో బాటసారుల బస నాకు దొరికిన ఎంత మేలు? నేను నా జనులను విడిచి వారియొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోవుదును.

2. They ready their tongues like a drawn bow; with lying, and not with truth, they hold forth in the land. They go from evil to evil, but me they know not, says the LORD.

3. విండ్లను త్రొక్కి వంచునట్లు అబద్ధమాడుటకై వారు తమ నాలుకను వంచుదురు; దేశములో తమకున్న బలమును నమ్మకముగా ఉపయోగపరచరు. నన్ను ఎరుగక కీడువెంట కీడు చేయుచు ప్రవర్తించుచున్నారు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. Be on your guard, everyone against his neighbor; put no trust in any brother. Every brother apes Jacob, the supplanter, every friend is guilty of slander.

4. మీలో ప్రతివాడును తన పొరుగు వాని విషయమై జాగ్రత్తగా నుండవలెను; ఏ సహోదరునినైనను నమ్మకుడి, నిజముగా ప్రతి సహోదరుడును తంత్రగొట్టయి తన సహోదరుని కొంపముంచును; ప్రతి పొరుగువాడును కొండెములు చెప్పుటకై తిరుగులాడుచున్నాడు.

4. Each one deceives the other, no one speaks the truth. They have accustomed their tongues to lying, and are perverse, and cannot repent.

5. సత్యము పలుకక ప్రతివాడును తన పొరుగువానిని వంచించును, అబద్ధములాడుట తమ నాలుకలకు అభ్యాసముచేసియున్నారు, ఎదుటివాని తప్పులు పట్టవలెనని ప్రయాసపడుదురు.

5. Violence upon violence, deceit upon deceit: They refuse to recognize me, says the LORD.

6. నీ నివాసస్థలము కాపట్యము మధ్యనే యున్నది, వారు కపటులై నన్ను తెలిసికొననొల్లకున్నారు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

6. Therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: I will smelt them and test them; how else should I deal with their wickedness?

7. కావున సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుఆలకింపుము, వారిని చొక్కము చేయునట్లుగా నేను వారిని కరగించుచున్నాను, నా జనులనుబట్టి నేను మరేమి చేయుదును?

7. A murderous arrow is his tongue, his mouth utters deceit; He speaks cordially with his friends, but in his heart he lays an ambush!

8. వారి నాలుక ఘాతుక బాణము, అది కాపట్యము పలుకుచున్నది; ఒకడు మనస్సులో వంచనాభిప్రాయముంచుకొని, నోట తన పొరుగువానితో సమాధానముగా మాటలాడును.

8. For these things, says the LORD, shall I not punish them? On a nation such as this shall I not take vengeance?

9. నేను ఈ సంగతులను తెలిసికొని వారిని శిక్షింపకపోదునా? ఇట్టి జనులకు నేను ప్రతిదండన చేయకుందునా? ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

9. Over the mountains, break out in cries of lamentation, over the pasture lands, intone a dirge: They are scorched, and no man crosses them, unheard is the bleat of the flock; Birds of the air as well as beasts, all have fled, and are gone.

10. పర్వతముల విషయమై రోదనమును అంగలార్పును చేయుదును; అరణ్యములోని మేతస్థలములనుబట్టి విలాపము చేయుదును; అవి పాడాయెను. సంచారము చేయువాడెవడును లేడు, పశువుల అరుపులు వినబడవు, ఆకాశ పక్షులును జంతువులును పారిపోయి యున్నవి, అవి తొలగిపోయి యున్నవి.

10. I will turn Jerusalem into a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals; The cities of Judah I will make into a waste, where no one dwells.

11. యెరూషలేమును పాడు దిబ్బలుగాను నక్కలకు చోటుగాను నేను చేయున్నాను, యూదా పట్టణములను నివాసిలేని పాడు స్థలముగా చేయుచున్నాను.

11. Who is so wise that he can understand this? Let him to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken make it known: Why is the land ravaged, scorched like a wasteland untraversed?

12. ఈ సంగతిని గ్రహింపగల జ్ఞాని యెవడు? దానిని వాడు తెలియజేయునట్లు యెహోవా నోటి మాట ఎవనికి వచ్చెను?ఎవడును సంచరింపకుండ ఆ దేశము ఎడారివలె ఏల కాలిపోయి పాడాయెను?

12. The LORD answered: Because they have abandoned my law, which I set before them, and have not followed it or listened to my voice,

13. అందుకు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడువారు నా మాట వినకయు దాని ననుసరింపకయు, నేను వారికి నియమించిన నా ధర్మశాస్త్రమును విసర్జించి

13. but followed rather the hardness of their hearts and the Baals, as their fathers had taught them;

14. తమ హృదయమూర్ఖతచొప్పున జరిగించుటకై తమ పితరులు తమకు నేర్పినట్లు బయలు దేవతలను అనుసరించుచున్నారు గనుకనే వారి దేశము పాడైపోయెను.

14. therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: See now, I will give them wormwood to eat and poison to drink.

15. సైన్యములకధిపతియు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను ఈ ప్రజలకు చేదుకూరలు తినిపింతును, విషజలము త్రాగింతును.

15. I will scatter them among nations whom neither they nor their fathers have known; I will send the sword to pursue them until I have completely destroyed them.

16. తామైనను తమ పితరులైనను ఎరుగని జనములలోనికి వారిని చెదరగొట్టు దును, వారిని నిర్మూలముచేయువరకు వారి వెంబడి ఖడ్గ మును పంపుదును.

16. Thus says the LORD of hosts: Attention! tell the wailing women to come, summon the best of them;

17. సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఆలోచింపుడి, రోదనము చేయు స్త్రీలను కనుగొనుడి వారిని పిలువనంపుడి, తెలివిగల స్త్రీలను కనుగొనుడి వారిని పిలువనంపుడి.

17. Let them come quickly and intone a dirge for us, That our eyes may be wet with weeping, our cheeks run with tears.

18. మన కన్నులు కన్నీళ్లు విడుచునట్లుగాను మన కనురెప్పలనుండి నీళ్లు ఒలుకునట్లుగాను వారు త్వరపడి మనకు రోదనధ్వని చేయవలెను.

18. The dirge is heard from Zion: Ruined we are, and greatly ashamed; We must leave the land, give up our homes!

19. మనము వలసబోతిమే సిగ్గునొందితిమే, వారు మన నివాసములను పడగొట్టగా మనము దేశము విడువవలసివచ్చెనే అని సీయోనులో రోదనధ్వని వినబడు చున్నది.

19. Hear, you women, the word of the LORD, let your ears receive his message. Teach your daughters this dirge, and each other this lament.

20. స్త్రీలారా, యెహోవా మాట వినుడి మీరు చెవియొగ్గి ఆయన నోటిమాట ఆలకించుడి, మీ కుమార్తెలకు రోదనము చేయనేర్పుడి, ఒకరికొకరు అంగలార్పు విద్య నేర్పుడి.

20. Death has come up through our windows, has entered our palaces; It cuts down the children in the street, young people in the squares.

21. వీధులలో పసిపిల్లలు లేకుండను, రాజ మార్గములలో ¸యౌవనులు లేకుండను, వారిని నాశనము చేయుటకై మరణము మన కిటికీలను ఎక్కుచున్నది, మన నగరులలో ప్రవేశించుచున్నది.

21. The corpses of the slain lie like dung on a field, Like sheaves behind the harvester, with no one to gather them.

22. యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదేనీవీమాట చెప్పుముచేలమీద పెంటపడునట్లు పంట కోయు వాని వెనుక పిడికిళ్లు పడునట్లు ఎవడును సమకూర్చ కుండ మనుష్యుల శవములు పడును, వాటిని కూర్చువాడెవడును లేకపోవును.

22. Thus says the LORD: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, nor the strong man glory in his strength, nor the rich man glory in his riches;

23. యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు జ్ఞాని తన జ్ఞానమునుబట్టియు శూరుడు తన శౌర్యమునుబట్టియు అతిశయింపకూడదు, ఐశ్వర్యవంతుడు తన ఐశ్వర్యమునుబట్టి అతిశయింపకూడదు.

23. But rather, let him who glories, glory in this, that in his prudence he knows me, Knows that I, the LORD, bring about kindness, justice and uprightness on the earth; For with such am I pleased, says the LORD.

24. అతిశయించువాడు దేనినిబట్టి అతిశయింపవలెననగా, భూమిమీద కృపచూపుచు నీతి న్యాయములు జరిగించుచునున్న యెహోవాను నేనేయని గ్రహించి నన్ను పరిశీలనగా తెలిసికొనుటనుబట్టియే అతి శయింపవలెను; అట్టి వాటిలో నేనానందించువాడనని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

24. See, days are coming, says the LORD, when I will demand an account of all those circumcised in their flesh:

25. Egypt and Judah, Edom and the Ammonites, Moab and the desert dwellers who shave their temples. For all these nations, like the whole house of Israel, are uncircumcised in heart.
