1. మరల యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. The word of the Lord came to me. He said,

2. తండ్రులు ద్రాక్షకాయలు తినగా పిల్లల పళ్లు పులిసెనని మీరు చెప్పుచు వచ్చెదరే; ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమునుగూర్చి ఈ సామెత మీ రెందుకు పలికెదరు?

2. Why do you people say this proverb: 'The parents ate the sour grapes, but the children got the sour taste'?'

3. నా జీవముతోడు ఈ సామెత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో మీరిక పలుకరు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. But the Lord God says, 'By my life, I swear that people in Israel will not think this proverb is true anymore!

4. మనుష్యులందరు నా వశములో ఉన్నారు, తండ్రులేమి కుమారులేమి అందరును నా వశములో ఉన్నారు; పాపముచేయువాడెవడో వాడే మరణము నొందును.

4. I will treat everyone, child and parent, just the same. The one who sins is the one who will die!

5. ఒకడు నీతిపరుడై నీతిన్యాయములను అనుసరించువాడైయుండి

5. A person who is good will live! He is fair and does what is right.

6. పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయకయు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహముల తట్టు చూడకయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరపకయు, బహిష్టయైనదానిని కూడకయు,

6. He doesn't go to the mountains to share food offered to idols. He doesn't pray to those filthy idols in Israel. He doesn't commit adultery with his neighbor's wife or with a woman during her period.

7. ఎవనినైనను భాదపెట్ట కయు, ఋణస్థునికి అతని తాకట్టును చెల్లించి బలాత్కారముచేత ఎవనికైనను నష్టము కలుగజేయకయునుండువాడై, ఆకలిగల వానికి ఆహారమిచ్చి దిగంబరికి బట్టయిచ్చి

7. He doesn't take advantage of others. If someone borrows money from him, he might take something of value before he gives the money. But when that person pays him back, he returns what he took. He gives food to the hungry and clothes to people who need them.

8. వడ్డికి అప్పియ్యకయు, లాభము చేపట్టకయు, అన్యాయము చేయకయు, నిష్పక్షపాతముగా న్యాయము తీర్చి

8. If someone wants to borrow money from him, he lends the money and doesn't charge interest on the loan. He refuses to be crooked. He is always fair with everyone. People can trust him.

9. యథార్థపరుడై నా కట్టడలను గైకొనుచు నా విధులనను సరించుచుండినయెడల వాడే నిర్దోషియగును, నిజముగా వాడు బ్రదుకును; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

9. He obeys my laws and studies my rules so that he can learn to be fair and dependable. He is good, so he will live.

10. అయితే ఆ నీతిపరునికి కుమారుడు పుట్టగా వాడు బలాత్కారము చేయువాడై ప్రాణహానికరుడై, చేయరాని క్రియలలో దేనినైనను చేసి

10. 'But someone like that might have a son who does not do any of these good things. The son steals things and kills people.

11. చేయవలసిన మంచి క్రియలలో దేనినైనను చేయకయుండినయెడల, అనగా పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయుటయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరుపుటయు,

11. He does things his father never did. He goes to the mountains and eats foods offered to false gods. He commits the sin of adultery with his neighbor's wife.

12. దీనులను దరిద్రులను భాదపెట్టి బలాత్కారముచేత నష్టము కలుగజేయుటయు, తాకట్టు చెల్లింపకపోవుటయు, విగ్రహముల తట్టు చూచి హేయకృత్యములు జరిగించుటయు,

12. He mistreats poor, helpless people. He takes advantage of them. When a debt is paid, he does not give back what he took from them. He prays to filthy idols and does other terrible things.

13. అప్పిచ్చి వడ్డి పుచ్చుకొనుటయు, లాభము చేపట్టుటయు ఈ మొదలగు క్రియలు చేసినయెడల వాడు బ్రదుకునా? బ్రదుకడు, ఈ హేయక్రియలన్ని చేసెను గనుక అవశ్యముగా వానికి మరణశిక్ష విధింపబడును, వాడు తన ప్రాణమునకు తానే ఉత్తరవాది యగును.

13. He lends money to people who need it, but he forces them to pay interest on the loan. The evil son will not be allowed to live. He will be put to death because he did such terrible things, and he will be responsible for his own death.

14. అయితే అతనికి కుమారుడు పుట్టగా ఆ కుమారుడు తన తండ్రిచేసిన పాపములన్నిటిని చూచి, ఆలోచించుకొని అట్టి క్రియలు చేయకయుండినయెడల, అనగా

14. Now, that evil son might also have a son. But this son sees the bad things his father did, and he refuses to live as his father did. He treats people fairly.

15. పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయకయు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహ ములతట్టు చూడకయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరపకయు,

15. He does not go to the mountains and eat foods offered to false gods. He does not pray to filthy idols in Israel. He does not commit the sin of adultery with his neighbor's wife.

16. ఎవనినైనను బాధపెట్టకయు, తాకట్టు ఉంచు కొనకయు, బలాత్కారముచేత నష్టపరచకయు, ఆకలి గలవానికి ఆహారమిచ్చి దిగంబరికి బట్టయిచ్చి

16. He does not take advantage of people. If someone borrows money from him, the good son takes something of value and then gives the other person the money. When that person pays him back, the good son gives back what he took. The good son gives food to hungry people, and he gives clothes to those who need them.

17. బీదవాని మీద అన్యాయముగా చెయ్యి వేయక లాభముకొరకు అప్పియ్యకయు, వడ్డి పుచ్చుకొనకయు నుండినవాడై, నా విధుల నాచరించుచు నా కట్టడల ననుసరించుచు నుండిన యెడల అతడు తన తండ్రిచేసిన దోషమునుబట్టి చావడు, అతడు అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

17. He helps the poor. If people want to borrow money, the good son lends them the money, and he does not charge interest on the loan! He obeys my laws and follows them. He will not be put to death for his father's sins. The good son will live.

18. అతని తండ్రి క్రూరుడై పరులను బాధపెట్టి బలాత్కారముచేత తన సహోదరులను నష్టపరచి తన జనులలో తగని క్రియలు చేసెను గనుక అతడే తన దోషమునుబట్టి మరణము నొందును.

18. The father hurts people and steals things. He never does anything good for my people! He will die because of his own sins.

19. అయితే మీరు కుమారుడు తన తండ్రి యొక్క దోష శిక్షను ఏల మోయుటలేదని చెప్పుకొను చున్నారు. కుమారుడు నీతిన్యాయముల ననుసరించి నా కట్టడలన్నిటిని అనుసరించి గైకొనెను గనుక అతడు అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

19. You might ask, 'Why will the son not be punished for his father's sins?' The reason is that the son was fair and did good things. He very carefully obeyed my laws, so he will live.

20. పాపము చేయువాడే మరణము నొందును; తండ్రియొక్క దోష శిక్షను కుమారుడు మోయుటలేదని కుమారుని దోష శిక్షను తండ్రిమోయడు, నీతిపరుని నీతి ఆ నీతిపరునికే చెందును, దుష్టుని దుష్టత్వము ఆ దుష్టునికే చెందును.

20. The one who sins is the one who will be put to death. A son will not be punished for his father's sins, and a father will not be punished for his son's sins. A good man's goodness belongs to him alone, and a bad man's evil belongs to him alone.

21. అయితే దుష్టుడు తాను చేసిన పాపములన్నిటిని విడిచి, నా కట్టడలన్నిటిని అనుసరించి నీతిని అనుసరించి న్యాయము జరిగించినయెడల అతడు మరణము నొందడు, అవశ్యముగా అతడు బ్రదుకును.

21. 'Now, if evil people change their lives then they will live and not die. They might stop doing all the bad things they did and begin to carefully obey all my laws. They might become fair and good.

22. అతడు చేసిన అపరాధములలో ఒకటియు జ్ఞాపకములోనికి రాదు, అతని నీతినిబట్టి అతడు బ్రదుకును.

22. God will not remember all the bad things they did. He will remember only their goodness, so they will live!'

23. దుష్టులు మరణము నొందుటచేత నా కేమాత్రమైన సంతోషము కలుగునా? వారు తమ ప్రవర్తనను దిద్దుకొని బ్రదుకుటయే నాకు సంతోషము; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

23. The Lord God says, 'I don't want evil people to die. I want them to change their lives so that they can live!

24. అయితే నీతిపరుడు తన నీతిని విడిచి పాపము చేసి, దుష్టులు చేయు హేయక్రియలన్నిటి ప్రకారము జరిగించినయెడల అతడు బ్రదుకునా? అతడు చేసిన నీతి కార్యములు ఏమాత్రమును జ్ఞాపకములోనికి రావు, అతడు విశ్వాసఘాతకుడై చేసిన పాపమునుబట్టి మరణము నొందును.

24. Now, maybe good people might stop being good. They might change their lives and begin to do all the terrible things that evil people have done in the past. (The evil people changed, so they can live.) So if those good people change and become bad, God will not remember all the good things they did. He will remember that they turned against him and began to sin. So they will die because of their sin.

25. అయితే యెహోవా మార్గము న్యాయము కాదని మీరు చెప్పుచున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నా మాట ఆలకించుడి, నా మార్గము న్యాయమే మీ మార్గమే గదా అన్యాయమైనది?

25. 'You people might say, 'The Lord isn't fair!' But listen, family of Israel. I am fair. You are the ones who are not fair!

26. నీతి పరుడు తన నీతిని విడిచి పాపము చేసినయెడల అతడు దానినిబట్టి మరణము నొందును; తాను పాపము చేయుటనుబట్టియే గదా అతడు మరణమునొందును?

26. If good people change and become evil, they must die for the bad things they do.

27. మరియు దుష్టుడు తాను చేయుచు వచ్చిన దుష్టత్వమునుండి మరలి నీతి న్యాయములను జరిగించిన యెడల తన ప్రాణము రక్షించుకొనును.

27. And if evil people change and become good and fair, they will save their lives. They will live!

28. అతడు ఆలోచించుకొని తాను చేయుచువచ్చిన అతిక్రమక్రియ లన్నిటిని చేయక మానెను గనుక అతడు మరణమునొందక అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

28. They saw how wicked they were and came back to me. They stopped doing the evil things they did in the past. So they will live! They will not die!'

29. అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా మార్గము న్యాయముకాదని చెప్పుచున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నా మార్గము న్యాయమేగాని మీ మార్గము న్యాయము కాదు.

29. The people of Israel said, 'That's not fair! The Lord isn't fair!' 'I am fair! You are the ones who are not fair!

30. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, యెవని ప్రవర్తననుబట్టి వానికి శిక్ష విధింతును. మనస్సు త్రిప్పుకొని మీ అక్రమములు మీకు శిక్షాకారణములు కాకుండునట్లు వాటినన్నిటిని విడిచిపెట్టుడి.

30. Why? Because, family of Israel, I will judge each of you only for what you do!' This is what the Lord God said. 'So come back to me! Stop committing those crimes and do away with those things that cause you to sin!

31. మీరు జరిగించిన అక్రమ క్రియలన్నిటిని విడిచి నూతన హృదయమును నూతన బుద్దియు తెచ్చుకొనుడి. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, మీరెందుకు మరణము నొందుదురు? ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

31. Throw away all the disgusting idols with which you committed your crimes! Change your heart and spirit. People of Israel, why should you do things that will cost you your life?

32. మరణమునొందువాడు మరణము నొందుటనుబట్టి నేను సంతోషించువాడను కాను. కావున మీరు మనస్సు త్రిప్పుకొనుడి అప్పుడు మీరు బ్రదుకుదురు; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

32. I don't want to kill you! Please come back and live!' This is what the Lord God said.
