1. ఏడవ సంవత్సరము అయిదవ నెల పదియవ దినమున ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలలో కొందరు యెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకై నా యొద్దకు వచ్చి నా యెదుట కూర్చుండియుండగా

1. It was the tenth day of the fifth month of the seventh year of our exile. Some of the leaders of the Israelite community came to consult me about the LORD's will, and they sat down in front of me.

2. యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

2. Then the LORD spoke to me.

3. నరపుత్రుడా, నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలతో ఇట్లనుము ప్రభువగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా నా యొద్ద విచారణ చేయుటకు మీరు వచ్చుచున్నారే. నా జీవముతోడు నావలన ఏ ఆలోచనయైనను మీకు దొరకదు; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. 'Mortal man,' he said, 'speak to these leaders and tell them that the Sovereign LORD is saying: You have come to ask my will, have you? As surely as I am the living God, I will not let you ask me anything. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken.

4. వారికి న్యాయము తీర్చుదువా? నరపుత్రుడా, వారికి న్యాయము తీర్చుదువా? వారి పితరులు చేసిన హేయకృత్యములను వారికి తెలియ జేయుము.

4. 'Are you ready to pass sentence on them, mortal man? Then do so. Remind them of the disgusting things their ancestors did.

5. ఎట్లనగా ప్రభువైన యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏర్పరచుకొనిన నాడును, యాకోబు సంతతికి ప్రమాణముచేసిన నాడును, ఐగుప్తుదేశమందు నన్ను వారికి ప్రత్యక్ష పరచుకొని ప్రమాణముచేసి నేను మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవానని నేను ప్రకటించిన కాలమున

5. Tell them what I am saying. When I chose Israel, I made them a promise. I revealed myself to them in Egypt and told them: I am the LORD your God.

6. వారిని ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి రప్పించి వారికొరకు నేను విచారించినదియు, పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించునదియు, సకల దేశములకు ఆభరణమైనదియునైన దేశములోనికి తోడుకొని పోయెదనని చెప్పిన కాలముననే నేను ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

6. It was then that I promised to take them out of Egypt and lead them to a land I had chosen for them, a rich and fertile land, the finest land of all.

7. అప్పుడు నేను మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవాను, మీలో ప్రతివాడు తన కిష్టమైన హేయకృత్యములను విడిచిపెట్టవలెను, ఐగుప్తీయుల విగ్రహములను పూజించుటచేత మిమ్మును మీరు అపవిత్రపరచు కొనకుండవలెను అని నేను ఆజ్ఞాపించితిని.

7. I told them to throw away the disgusting idols they loved and not to make themselves unclean with the false gods of Egypt, because I am the LORD their God.

8. అయితే వారు నా మాట విననొల్లక నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసి, తమకిష్టమైన హేయకృత్యములు చేయుట మాన లేదు, ఐగుప్తీయుల విగ్రహములను పూజించుట మానలేదు గనుక వారు ఐగుప్తీయుల దేశములో ఉండగానే నేను నా రౌద్రము వారిమీద కుమ్మరించి నా కోపము వారి మీద తీర్చుకొందునని యనుకొంటిని.

8. But they defied me and refused to listen. They did not throw away their disgusting idols or give up the Egyptian gods. I was ready to let them feel the full force of my anger there in Egypt.

9. అయితే ఏ అన్య జనులయెదుట నన్ను నేను బయలు పరచుకొంటినో, యే అన్యజనులమధ్య వారుండిరో ఆ అన్యజనులలో వారున్న అన్యజనుల యెదుట వారికి నన్ను బయలుపరచుకొంటిని, నా నామమునకు దూషణ కలుగకుండుటకై ఆలాగు చేయుటమాని, ఆ జనులు చూచుచుండగా నా నామ ఘనతకొరకు నేను వారిని ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి రప్పించి తిని.

9. But I did not, since that would have brought dishonor to my name, for in the presence of the people among whom they were living I had announced to Israel that I was going to lead them out of Egypt.

10. వారిని ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి రప్పించి అరణ్యము లోనికి తోడుకొని వచ్చి

10. 'And so I led them out of Egypt into the desert.

11. వారికి నా కట్టడలను నియమించి నా విధులను వారికి తెలియజేసితిని. ఎవడైన వాటి ననుసరించినయెడల వాటినిబట్టి బ్రదుకును.

11. I gave them my commands and taught them my laws, which bring life to anyone who obeys them.

12. మరియు యెహోవానగు నేనే వారిని పవిత్రపరచువాడనని వారు తెలిసికొనునట్లు నాకును వారికిని మధ్య విశ్రాంతి దినము లను వారికి సూచనగా నేను నియమించితిని.

12. I made the keeping of the Sabbath a sign of the agreement between us, to remind them that I, the LORD, make them holy.

13. అయితే అరణ్యమందు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసి నా కట్టడల ననుసరింపక, తాము అనుసరించి బ్రదుకవలెనని నేనిచ్చిన విధులను తృణీకరించి, నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతిదినములను అపవిత్రపరచగా, అరణ్య మందు నా రౌద్రాగ్ని వారిమీద కుమ్మరించి వారిని నిర్మూ లము చేయుదునను కొంటిని.

13. But even in the desert they defied me. They broke my laws and rejected my commands, which bring life to anyone who obeys them. They completely profaned the Sabbath. I was ready to let them feel the force of my anger there in the desert and to destroy them.

14. అయితే నేను వారిని రప్పింపగా ఏ అన్య జనులు చూచిరో యే అన్యజనులలో నుండి నేను వారిని రప్పించితినో వారి యెదుట నా నామ మునకు దూషణ కలుగకుండునట్లు నేననుకొనిన ప్రకారము చేయక మానితిని.

14. But I did not, since that would have brought dishonor to my name among the nations which had seen me lead Israel out of Egypt.

15. మరియు తమకిష్టమైన విగ్రహముల ననుసరింపవలెనని కోరి, వారు నా విధులను తృణీకరించి నా కట్టడల ననుసరింపక నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతి దినములను అపవిత్రపరచగా

15. So I made a vow in the desert that I would not take them to the land I had given them, a rich and fertile land, the finest land of all.

16. ఇచ్చెదనని నేను సెలవిచ్చి నట్టియు, పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించునట్టియునైన సకల దేశములకు ఆభరణమగు దేశములోనికి వారిని రప్పింపనని వారు అరణ్యములో ఉండగానే నేను ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

16. I made the vow because they had rejected my commands, broken my laws, and profaned the Sabbath---they preferred to worship their idols.

17. అయినను వారు నశించి పోకుండునట్లు వారియందు కనికరించి, అరణ్యములో నేను వారిని నిర్మూలము చేయక పోతిని.

17. 'But then I took pity on them. I decided not to kill them there in the desert.

18. వారు అరణ్యములో ఉండగానే వారి పిల్లలతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చితినిమీరు మీ తండ్రుల ఆచారము లను అనుసరింపకయు, వారి పద్ధతులనుబట్టి ప్రవర్తింప కయు, వారు పెట్టుకొనిన దేవతలను పూజించి మిమ్మును మీరు అపవిత్రపరచుకొనకయు నుండుడి.

18. Instead, I warned the young people among them: Do not keep the laws your ancestors made; do not follow their customs or defile yourselves with their idols.

19. మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవాను నేనే గనుక నా కట్టడల ననుసరించి నా విధులను గైకొని నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతిదినములను ఆచరించుడి.

19. I am the LORD your God. Obey my laws and my commands.

20. నేను మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవా నని మీరు తెలిసికొనునట్లు ఆ విశ్రాంతిదినములు నాకును మీకును మధ్యను సూచనగా ఉండును.

20. Make the Sabbath a holy day, so that it will be a sign of the covenant we made, and will remind you that I am the LORD your God.

21. అయినను ఆ జనులు సహా నా మీద తిరుగబడి, తామనుసరించి బ్రదుకవలెనని నేనిచ్చిన నా కట్టడలను అనుసరింపకయు, నా విధులను గైకొనకయు, నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతి దినములను అపవిత్రపరచిరి గనుక, వారు అరణ్యములో ఉండగానే నేను నా రౌద్రాగ్ని వారిమీద కుమ్మరించి నా కోపము వారిమీద తీర్చుకొందునని యనుకొంటిని.

21. 'But that generation also defied me. They broke my laws and did not keep my commands, which bring life to anyone who obeys them. They profaned the Sabbath. I was ready to let them feel the force of my anger there in the desert and to kill them all.

22. అయితే నేను ప్రత్యక్షమైన అన్యజనుల మధ్య నా నామమునకు దూషణ కలుగకుండునట్లు ఏ జనులలోనుండి వారిని రప్పించితినో ఆ జనులు చూచుచుండగా నా హస్తము వెనుకకు తీసి నా వాగ్దానము నెరవేర్చితిని.

22. But I did not, since that would have brought dishonor to my name among the nations which had seen me bring Israel out of Egypt.

23. మరియు వారు నా విధుల ననుసరింపక నా కట్టడలను తృణీకరించి, నేను విధించిన విశ్రాంతిదినములను అపవిత్ర పరచి,

23. So I made another vow in the desert. I vowed that I would scatter them all over the world.

24. తమ పితరులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములను పూజింప గోరగా, అన్యజనులలో వారిని చెదరగొట్టి సకలదేశముల లోనికి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్టుదునని ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

24. I did this because they had rejected my commands, broken my laws, profaned the Sabbath, and worshiped the same idols their ancestors had served.

25. నేను యెహోవానని వారు తెలిసికొనునట్లు వారిని విస్మ యము నొందింపవలెనని అనుకూలము కాని కట్టడలను తాము బ్రదుకుటకు ప్రయోజనకరములు కాని విధులను వారికిచ్చితిని.

25. 'Then I gave them laws that are not good and commands that do not bring life.

26. తొలిచూలిని అగ్నిగుండము దాటించి బలి దానముల నిచ్చుటచేత తమ్మును తాము అపవిత్రపరచు కొననిచ్చితిని.

26. I let them defile themselves with their own offerings, and I let them sacrifice their first-born sons. This was to punish them and show them that I am the LORD.

27. కాబట్టి నరపుత్రుడా, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో మాటలాడి ఇట్లు ప్రకటింపుము ప్రభువగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా మీ పితరులు నాయెడల అతిక్రమముచేసి నన్ను దూషించి

27. 'Now then, mortal man, tell the Israelites what I, the Sovereign LORD, am saying to them. This is another way their ancestors insulted me by their unfaithfulness.

28. వారికిచ్చెదనని నేను ప్రమాణ పూర్వక ముగా చెప్పిన దేశములోనికి నేను వారిని రప్పించిన తరు వాత, ఎత్తయిన యొక కొండనేగాని, దట్టమైన యొక వృక్షమునేగాని తాము చూచినప్పుడెల్లను బలులు అర్పిం చుచు, అర్పణలను అర్పించుచు, అక్కడ పరిమళ ధూపము ప్రతిష్ఠించుచు, పానార్పణములు చేయుచు నాకు కోపము పుట్టించిరి.

28. I brought them to the land I had promised to give them. When they saw the high hills and green trees, they offered sacrifices at all of them. They made me angry by the sacrifices they burned and by the wine they brought as offerings.

29. మీరు పోవుచున్న ఉన్నత స్థలములేమిటని నేనడిగితిని; కాబట్టి ఉన్నతస్థలమను పేరు నేటివరకు వాడుకలో నున్నది.

29. I asked them: What are these high places where you go? So they have been called 'High Places' ever since.

30. కావున ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఈ మాట ప్రకటింపుముప్రభువైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగామీ పితరుల రీతిని మీరును అపవిత్రులైతిరే వారు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములను అనుసరించుచు మీరును వ్యభిచారులైతిరే;

30. Now tell the Israelites what I am saying: Why must you commit the same sins your ancestors did and go running after their idols?

31. నేటివరకును మీరు అర్పణలను అర్పించి మీ కుమారులను అగ్నిగుండ దాటించునప్పుడు, మీరు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములన్నిటికి పూజజేసి అపవిత్రులగు చున్నారే; ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నాయొద్ద మీరు విచారణ చేయుదురా? నా జీవముతోడు నావలన ఆలోచన మీకు దొరుకదు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు

31. Even today you offer the same gifts and defile yourselves with the same idols by sacrificing your children to them in the fire. And then you Israelites still come to ask what my will is! As surely as I, the Sovereign LORD, am the living God, I will not let you ask me anything.

32. అన్యజనులేమి భూమిమీది యే జనులేమి చేయునట్లు మేమును కొయ్యలకును రాళ్లకును పూజచేతుమని మీరనుకొనుచున్నారే. మీరు ఇచ్ఛయించినదాని ప్రకారమెన్నటికిని జరుగదు.

32. You have made up your minds that you want to be like the other nations, like the people who live in other countries and worship trees and rocks. But that will never be.

33. నా జీవముతోడు నా రౌద్రము కుమ్మరించుచు, బాహుబలముతోను చాచిన చేతితోను నేను మీపైన అధికారము చేసెదను.

33. 'As surely as I, the Sovereign LORD, am the living God, I warn you that in my anger I will rule over you with a strong hand, with all my power.

34. మరియు నేను రౌద్రము కుమ్మరించుచు, బాహుబలముతోను చాచిన చేతితోను మిమ్మును చెదరగొట్టిన ఆయా దేశములలోనుండియు జనులలోనుండియు నేను మిమ్మును సమ కూర్చి

34. I will show you my power and my anger when I gather you together and bring you back from all the countries where you have been scattered.

35. జనములున్న అరణ్యములోనికి మిమ్మును రప్పించి, అక్కడ ముఖాముఖిగా మీతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడెదను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

35. I will bring you into the 'Desert of the Nations,' and there I will condemn you to your face.

36. ఐగుప్తీయులదేశపు అరణ్యములో నేను మీ పితరులతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడినట్టు మీతోను వ్యాజ్యె మాడెదను; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

36. I will now condemn you just as I condemned your ancestors in the Sinai Desert,' says the Sovereign LORD.

37. చేతి కఱ్ఱక్రింద మిమ్మును దాటించి నిబంధనకు లోపరచెదను.

37. 'I will take firm control of you and make you obey my covenant.

38. మరియు నామీద తిరుగబడువారిని దోషము చేయువారిని మీలో ఉండకుండ ప్రత్యేకించెదను, తాము కాపురమున్న దేశములోనుండి వారిని రప్పించెదను గాని నేను యెహోవానని మీరు తెలిసికొనునట్లు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశములో ప్రవేశించరు.

38. I will take away from among you those who are rebellious and sinful. I will take them out of the lands where they are living now, but I will not let them return to the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'

39. ఇశ్రాయేలు యింటివార లారా, మీరు నామాట వినని యెడల మీరు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములను, మీ కిష్టమైనట్టుగా పూజించుకొనుడి, గాని మీ అర్పణలచేతను మీ విగ్రహములచేతను నా పరిశుద్ధనామమును అపవిత్రపరచకుడి అని ప్రభువైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

39. The Sovereign LORD says, 'And now, all you Israelites, suit yourselves! Go on and serve your idols! But I warn you that after this you will have to obey me and stop dishonoring my holy name by offering gifts to your idols.

40. నిజముగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ఉన్నతమైన కొండయగు నా పరిశుద్ధ పర్వతమందు దేశములోనున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును నాకు సేవచేయుదురు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు. అచ్చటనే నేను వారిని అంగీకరించెదను. అచ్చటనే మీ ప్రతిష్ఠితమైన యర్పణలను, మీ ప్రథమ ఫలదానములను, ప్రతిష్ఠితములగు మీ కానుకలనన్నిటిని నేనంగీకరించెదను.

40. There in the land, on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel, all you people of Israel will worship me. I will be pleased with you and will expect you to bring me your sacrifices, your best offerings, and your holy gifts.

41. జనములలోనుండి నేను మిమ్మును రప్పించునప్పుడును, మిమ్మును చెదరగొట్టిన ఆ యా దేశము లలోనుండి మిమ్మును సమకూర్చునప్పుడును, పరిమళధూపముగా మిమ్మును అంగీకరించెదను, అన్యజనులయెదుటను మీ మధ్యను నన్ను నేను పరిశుద్ధపరచుకొందును.

41. After I bring you out of the countries where you have been scattered and gather you together, I will accept the sacrifices that you burn, and the nations will see that I am holy.

42. మీ పితరులకిచ్చెదనని నేను ప్రమాణ పూర్వకముగా చెప్పిన దేశమునకు, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమునకు నేను మిమ్మును రప్పించునప్పుడు నేనే యెహోవానని మీరు తెలిసికొందురు.

42. When I bring you back to Israel, the land that I promised I would give to your ancestors, then you will know that I am the LORD.

43. అచ్చట చేరి మీ ప్రవర్తనను, మిమ్మును మీరు అపవిత్ర పరచుకొనిన మీ క్రియలన్నిటిని మనస్సు నకు తెచ్చుకొని, మీరు చేసిన దుష్‌క్రియలనుబట్టి మిమ్మును మీరే అసహ్యించుకొందురు.

43. Then you will remember all the disgraceful things you did and how you defiled yourselves. You will be disgusted with yourselves because of all the evil things you did.

44. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, మీ దుర్మార్గతనుబట్టియు మీ కాని చేష్టలనుబట్టియు కాక నా నామమునుబట్టియే నేను మీ కీలాగున చేయగా నేనే యెహోవానని మీరు తెలిసికొందురు.

44. When I act to protect my honor, you Israelites will know that I am the LORD, because I do not deal with you as your wicked, evil actions deserve.' The Sovereign LORD has spoken.

45. ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు మరియు యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

45. The LORD spoke to me.

46. నరపుత్రుడా, నీ ముఖము దక్షిణపుతట్టు త్రిప్పుకొని దక్షిణదేశమునకు ప్రకటింపుము, దక్షిణదేశపు అరణ్య మునుగూర్చి ప్రవచించి ఇట్లనుము

46. 'Mortal man,' he said, 'look toward the south. Speak against the south and prophesy against the forest of the south.

47. దక్షిణదేశమా, యెహోవా మాట ఆలకించుము ప్రభువైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా నేను నీలో అగ్ని రాజబెట్టెదను, అది నీలోనున్న పచ్చని చెట్లన్నిటిని ఎండిన చెట్లన్నిటిని దహించును, అది ఆరిపోకుండనుండును, దక్షిణదిక్కు మొదలుకొని ఉత్తరదిక్కువరకు భూముఖమంతయు దాని చేత కాల్చబడును.

47. Tell the southern forest to hear what the Sovereign LORD is saying: Look! I am starting a fire, and it will burn up every tree in you, whether green or dry. Nothing will be able to put it out. It will spread from south to north, and everyone will feel the heat of the flames.

48. అది ఆరిపోకుండ యెహోవానైన నేను దానిని రాజబెట్టితినని సమస్తమైన జనులకు తెలియబడును.

48. They will all see that I, the LORD, set it on fire and that no one can put it out.'

49. అయ్యో ప్రభువా యెహోవా వీడు గూఢ మైన మాటలు పలుకువాడు కాడా అని వారు నన్ను గూర్చి చెప్పుదురని నేనంటిని.

49. But I protested, 'Sovereign LORD, don't make me do it! Everyone is already complaining that I always speak in riddles.'
