1. పారసీకరాజగు కోరెషు పరిపాలన కాలములో మూడవ సంవత్సరమున బెల్తెషాజరు అను దానియేలునకు ఒక సంగతి బయలుపరచబడెను; గొప్ప యుద్ధము జరుగు నన్న ఆ సంగతి నిజమే; దానియేలు దాని గ్రహించెను; అది దర్శనమువలన అతనికి తెలిసిన దాయెను.

1. In the third year of Koresh king of Persia, a word was revealed to Dani'el, also called Belt'shatzar. The word was certain: a great war. He understood the word, having gained understanding in the vision.

2. ఆ దినముల యందు దానియేలను నేను మూడు వారములు దుఃఖ ప్రాప్తుడనైతిని.

2. At that time I, Dani'el, had been mourning for three whole weeks.

3. మూడు వారములు గడచువరకు నేను సంతోషముగా భోజనము చేయలేకయుంటిని; మాంసము గాని ద్రాక్షారసము గాని నా నోటిలోనికి రాలేదు, స్నానాభిషేకములను చేసికొనలేదు.

3. I hadn't eaten any food that satisfied me- neither meat nor wine had entered my mouth, and I didn't anoint myself once, until three full weeks had passed.

4. మొదటి నెల యిరువది నాలుగవతేది నేను హిద్దెకెలను గొప్ప నది తీరమున ఉంటిని.

4. On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was on the bank of the great river, the Tigris,

5. when I looked up, and there before me was a man dressed in linen wearing a belt made of fine Ufaz gold.

6. His body was like beryl, his face looked like lightning and his eyes like fiery torches; his arms and feet were the color of burnished bronze; and when he spoke, it sounded like the roar of a crowd.

7. దానియేలను నాకు ఈ దర్శ నము కలుగగా నాతోకూడనున్న మనుష్యులు దాని చూడలేదు గాని మిగుల భయాక్రాంతులై దాగుకొన వలెనని పారిపోయిరి.

7. Only I, Dani'el, saw the vision; the men who were with me did not see the vision; however, a great trembling fell over them; so that they rushed to hide themselves.

8. నేను ఒంటరినై యా గొప్ప దర్శ నమును చూచితిని; చూచినందున నాలో బలమేమియు లేకపోయెను, నా సొగసు వికారమాయెను, బలము నా యందు నిలువలేదు.

8. Thus I was left alone; and when I saw this great vision, there was no strength left in me- my face, normally pleasant-looking, became disfigured; and I had no strength.

9. నేను అతని మాటలు వింటిని; అతని మాటలు విని నేను నేలను సాష్టాంగపడి గాఢనిద్ర పొందినవాడనైతిని.

9. I heard his voice speaking; and when I heard him speaking, I fell down in a faint, with my face to the ground.

10. అప్పుడొకడు చేతితో నన్ను ముట్టి నా మోకాళ్లను అఱచేతులను నేలమోపి నన్ను నిలువ బెట్టి

10. Then a hand touched me and raised me, tottering, to my hands and knees.

11. దానియేలూ, నీవు బహు ప్రియుడవు గనుక నేను నీ యొద్దకు పంపబడితిని; నీవు లేచి నిలువబడి నేను నీతో చెప్పుమాటలు తెలిసికొనుమనెను. అతడీమాటలు నాతో చెప్పగా నేను వణకుచు నిలువబడితిని.

11. He said to me, 'Dani'el, you are a greatly loved man. Now pay attention to the words I am saying to you, and stand upright; for it is to you that I have been sent now.' After he had said this to me, I stood up, trembling.

12. అప్పుడతడు దానియేలూ, భయపడకుము, నీవు తెలిసికొన వలెనని నీ మనస్సును అప్పగించి, దేవుని యెదుట నిన్ను తగ్గించుకొనిన ఆ మొదటి దినము మొదలుకొని నీవు చెప్పిన మాటలు వినబడినవి గనుక నీ మాటలనుబట్టి నేను వచ్చితిని

12. Then he said to me, 'Don't be afraid, Dani'el; because since the first day that you determined to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words have been heard; and I have come because of what you said.

13. పారసీకుల రాజ్యాధిపతి ఇరువది యొక్క దినములు నన్ను ఎదిరించెను. ఇంక పారసీకుల రాజుల సముఖమున నేను నిలుచుచుండగా ప్రధానాధిపతులలో మిఖాయేలను ఒకడు నాకు సహాయము చేయవచ్చెను,

13. The prince of the kingdom of Persia prevented me from coming for twenty-one days; but Mikha'el, one of the chief princes, came to assist me; so that I was no longer needed there with the kings of Persia.

14. ఈ దర్శనపు సంగతి ఇంక అనేక దినములవరకు జరుగదు; అయితే దినముల అంతమందు నీ జనమునకు సంభవింప బోవు ఈ సంగతిని నీకు తెలియజేయ వచ్చితినని అతడు నాతో చెప్పెను.

14. So I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the [acharit-hayamim]; for there is still another vision which will relate to those days.'

15. అతడీ మాటలు నాతో చెప్పగా నేను నా ముఖము నేలకు వంచుకొని మౌనినైతిని.

15. After he had said these things to me, I looked down at the ground and couldn't speak.

16. అప్పుడు నరస్వరూపియగు ఒకడు నా పెదవులను ముట్టగా నేను నోరు తెరచి నాయెదుట నిలిచియున్న వానితో ఇట్లంటిని నా యేలినవాడా, యీ దర్శనమువలన నాకు వేదన కలిగినందున నా బలము తొలగిపోయెను,

16. Then someone who looked like a human being touched my lips, after which I could open my mouth and speak; I said to the one standing in front of me, 'My lord, it is because of the vision that I am seized with such anguish; I don't have any strength.

17. నా యేలిన వాని దాసుడనైన నేను నా యేలినవాని యెదుట ఏలాగున మాట లాడుదును? నా బలము తొలగిపోయెను, ఊపిరి విడువలేక యున్నానని చెప్పగా

17. For how can this servant of my lord speak with my lord, when my strength and breath have failed me?'

18. అతడు మరల నన్ను ముట్టి నన్ను బలపరచి నీవు బహు ప్రియుడవు, భయ పడకుము,

18. Then, again someone who looked human touched me and revived me.

19. నీకు శుభమవును గాక, ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొమ్ము. ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొమ్మని నాతో చెప్పెను. అతడు నాతో ఇట్లనగా నేను ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొనినీవు నన్ను ధైర్యపరచితివి గనుక నా యేలినవాడవైన నీవు ఆజ్ఞ ఇమ్మని చెప్పితిని.

19. He said, 'You man so greatly loved, don't be afraid. [Shalom] to you; and be strong, yes, truly strong.' His speaking to me strengthened me, and I said, 'My lord, keep speaking; because you've given me strength.'

20. అతడు నేనెందుకు నీయొద్దకు వచ్చితినో అది నీకు తెలిసినది గదా; నేను పారసీకుడగు అధిపతితో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు మరల పోయెదను. నేను బయలుదేరుచుండగానే గ్రేకేయుల దేశముయొక్క అధిపతి వచ్చును.

20. Then he said, 'Do you know why I came to you? Although now I must return to fight the prince of Persia; and when I leave, the prince of Greece will come;

21. అయితే సత్యగ్రంథమందు వ్రాసినది నీతో చెప్పెదను, మీ యధిపతియగు మిఖాయేలు గాక యీ సంగతులనుగూర్చి నా పక్షముగా నిలువ తెగించిన వాడొకడును లేడు.

21. nevertheless, I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. There is no one standing with me against them except Mikha'el your prince;
