1. మరియు యెహోవా మోషేతో ఇట్లనెను.

1. The Lord said to Moses, 'Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron. Tell them, 'A priest must not make himself 'unclean' by going near the dead body of any of his people.

2. యాజకులగు అహరోను కుమారులతో ఇట్లనుము మీలో ఎవడును తన ప్రజలలో శవమును ముట్టుటవలన తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచుకొనరాదు. అయితే తనకు సమీప రక్త సంబంధులు, అనగా తన తల్లి, తండ్రి, కుమారుడు, కుమార్తె, సహోదరుడు,

2. But he can go near the body of a close relative. It could be his mother, father, son, daughter or brother.

3. తనకు సమీపముగానున్న శుద్ధ సహోదరియగు అవివాహిత కన్యక, అను వీరియొక్క శవమునుముట్టి తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచు కొనవచ్చును.

3. He can also go near a sister who is not married. She would have depended on him because she did not have a husband. The priest can make himself 'unclean' by going near her body.

4. అతడు తన ప్రజలలో యజమానుడు గనుక తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచుకొని సామాన్యునిగా చేసికొనరాదు.

4. But he must not make himself 'unclean' by going near the bodies of people who were only related to him by marriage. Going near them would make him 'unclean.'

5. వారు తమ తలలు బోడిచేసికొనరాదు. గడ్డపు ప్రక్కలను క్షౌరము చేసికొన రాదు, కత్తితో దేహమును కోసికొనరాదు.

5. ' 'Priests must not shave any part of their heads. They must not shave off the edges of their beards. They must not make cuts on their bodies when someone dies.

6. వారు తమ దేవునికి ప్రతిష్ఠితమైనవారుగా ఉండవలెను. కావున వారు తమ దేవుని నామమును అపవిత్రపరచరాదు. ఏలయనగా వారు తమ దేవునికి అహారమును, అనగా యెహోవాకు హోమద్రవ్యములను అర్పించువారు; కావున వారు పరిశుద్ధులై యుండవలెను.

6. ' 'Priests must be holy. They must be set apart for me. I am their God. They must not treat my name as if it were not holy. They must be holy because they bring offerings that are made to me with fire. That is my food.

7. వారు జార స్త్రీనే గాని భ్రష్టురాలినేగాని పెండ్లిచేసికొనకూడదు. పెనిమిటి విడనాడిన స్త్రీని పెండ్లి చేసికొనకూడదు. ఏలయనగా యాజకుడు తన దేవునికి ప్రతిష్ఠితుడు.

7. ' 'They must not get married to women who are 'unclean' because they are prostitutes. They must not marry women who are divorced from their husbands. That is because priests are holy. They are set apart for me. I am their God.

8. అతడు నీ దేవునికి ఆహారమును అర్పించువాడు గనుక నీవు అతని పరిశుద్ధపరచవలెను. మిమ్మును పరిశుద్ధపరచు యెహోవా అను నేను పరిశుద్ధుడను గనుక అతడు మీ దృష్టికి పరిశుద్ధుడు కావలెను.

8. Consider them as holy, because they offer up food to me. Consider them as holy, because I am holy. I am the Lord. I make you holy.

9. ' 'Suppose a priest's daughter makes herself 'unclean' by becoming a prostitute. Then she brings shame on her father. She must be burned to death.

10. ప్రధానయాజకుడగుటకై తన సహోదరులలో ఎవరి తలమీద అభిషేకతైలము పోయబడునో, యాజకవస్త్రములు వేసికొనుటకు ఎవరు ప్రతిష్ఠింపబడునో అతడు తన తలకప్పును తీయరాదు; తన బట్టలను చింపుకొనరాదు;

10. ' 'The high priest is the one among his brothers whose head has been anointed with olive oil. He has been appointed to wear the priest's clothes. ' 'When someone dies, the high priest must not let his hair hang loose. He must not tear his clothes to show how sad he is.

11. అతడు శవముదగ్గరకు పోరాదు; తన తండ్రి శవమువలననే గాని తన తల్లి శవమువలననే గాని తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచుకొనరాదు.

11. He must not enter a place where there is a dead body. He must not make himself 'unclean,' even if his father or mother dies.

12. దేవుని అభిషేక తైలము అనెడు కిరీటముగా అతని మీద ఉండును గనుక అతడు పరిశుద్ధమందిరమును విడిచి వెళ్లరాదు; తన దేవుని పరిశుద్ధమందిరమును అపవిత్రపరచరాదు; నేను యెహోవాను

12. He must not leave my sacred tent to take part in burying a body. That would bring shame on the tent. My anointing oil has set the high priest apart. I am the Lord.

13. ' 'The woman the high priest gets married to must be a virgin.

14. విధవరాలినైనను విడనాడబడినదానినైనను భ్రష్టురాలినైనను, అనగా జారస్త్రీనైనను అట్టివారిని పెండ్లిచేసికొనక తన ప్రజలలోని కన్యకనే పెండ్లి చేసికొన వలెను.

14. He must not marry a widow or a woman who is divorced. He must not marry a woman who is 'unclean' because she is a prostitute. He must only get married to a virgin. She must come from his own people.

15. యెహోవా అను నేను అతని పరిశుద్ధపరచు వాడను గనుక అతడు తన ప్రజలలో తన సంతానమును అపవిత్రపరచకూడదని వారితో చెప్పుము.

15. If he marries a virgin, he makes the children he has by her 'clean.' I am the Lord. I make him holy.' '

16. మరియు యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను.

16. The Lord spoke to Moses. He said,

17. నీవు అహరోనుతో ఇట్లనుము నీ సంతతివారిలో ఒకనికి కళంకమేదైనను కలిగినయెడల అతడు తన దేవునికి ఆహారము అర్పించుటకు సమీపింపకూడదు.

17. 'Speak to Aaron. Tell him, 'For all time to come, no man in your family line who has any flaws can come near to offer food to me.

18. ఏలయనగా ఎవనియందు కళంకముండునో వాడు గ్రుడ్డివాడేగాని కుంటివాడేగాని ముక్కిడివాడేగాని విపరీతమైన అవయవముగల వాడే గాని

18. 'No man who has any flaws can come near. No man who is blind or disabled can come. No man whose body is scarred or twisted can come.

19. కాలైనను చేయినైనను విరిగినవాడే గాని

19. No man whose foot or hand is disabled can come.

20. గూనివాడేగాని గుజ్జువాడేగాని కంటిలో పువ్వు గల వాడేగాని గజ్జిగలవాడేగాని చిరుగుడుగలవాడేగాని వృషణములు నలిగినవాడేగాని సమీపింపకూడదు.

20. No man whose back is bent can come. No man who is too short can come. No man who has anything wrong with his eyes can come. No man who has boils or running sores can come. No man whose sex glands are crushed can come.

21. యాజకుడైన అహరోను సంతానములో కళంకముగల యే మనుష్యుడును యెహోవాకు హోమద్రవ్యములను అర్పించుటకు సమీపింపకూడదు. అతడు కళంకముగలవాడు; అట్టివాడు తన దేవునికి ఆహారము అర్పించుటకు సమీపింప కూడదు.

21. ' 'No man in the family line of the priest Aaron who has any flaws can come near me. He can't come to bring the offerings that are made to me with fire. If he has any flaws, he must not come near to offer food to me.

22. అతి పరిశుద్ధమైనవేగాని, పరిశుద్ధమైనవేగాని, తన దేవునికి అర్పింపబడు ఏ ఆహారవస్తువులనైనను అతడు తినవచ్చును.

22. He can eat the holy food. He can also eat my very holy food.

23. మెట్టుకు అతడు కళంకముగలవాడు గనుక అడ్డతెరయెదుటికి చేరకూడదు; బలిపీఠమును సమీపింపకూడదు;

23. But because he has a flaw, he must not go near the curtain or approach the altar. If he does, he will make my sacred tent 'unclean.' I am the Lord. I make everything holy.' '

24. నా పరిశుద్ధస్థలములను అపవిత్రపరచకూడదు; వారిని పరిశుద్ధపరచు యెహోవాను నేనే అని వారితో చెప్పుము. అట్లు మోషే అహరోనుతోను, అతని కుమారులతోను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరితోను చెప్పెను.

24. So Moses told all of those things to Aaron and his sons. He also told them to all of the people of Israel.
