1. తరువాత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు సాగి యెరికోకు ఎదురుగా యొర్దాను తీరముననున్న మోయాబు మైదానములలో దిగిరి.

1. Afterwarde wete ye children of Israel, & pitched in ye felde of Moab beyonde Iordane by Iericho.

2. సిప్పోరు కుమారుడైన బాలాకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు అమోరీయులకు చేసినదంతయు చూచెను.

2. And whan Balac ye sonne of Ziphor sawe all that Israel had done vnto the Amorites,

3. జనము విస్తారముగా నున్నందున మోయాబీయులు వారిని చూచి మిక్కిలి భయపడిరి; మోయాబీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు జంకిరి.

3. and that the Moabites were sore afrayed of the people (yt was so greate) and that the Moabites stode in feare of the children of Israel,

4. మోయాబీయులు మిద్యాను పెద్దలతో ఎద్దు బీటి పచ్చికను నాకివేయునట్లు ఈ జనసమూహము మన చుట్టు ఉన్నది యావత్తును ఇప్పుడు నాకివేయు ననిరి. ఆ కాలమందు సిప్పోరు కుమారుడైన బాలాకు మోయాబీయులకు రాజు.

4. he sayde vnto ye Elders of the Madianites: Now shal this heape licke vp all that is aboute vs, eue as an oxe licketh vp the grasse in the felde. (And Balac ye sonne of Ziphor was kynge of the Moabites at that tyme.)

5. కాబట్టి అతడు బెయోరు కుమారుడైన బిలామును పిలుచుటకు అతని జనుల దేశమందలి నదియొద్దనున్న పెతోరుకు దూతలచేత ఈ వర్తమానము పంపెను చిత్తగించుము; ఒక జనము ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వచ్చెను; ఇదిగో వారు భూతలమును కప్పి నా యెదుట దిగియున్నారు.

5. And he sent out messaungers vnto Balaam the sonne of Beor, which was an interpreter. (The same dwelt by the water of the lande of ye children of his people) that they shulde call him, and he caused to saye vnto him: Beholde, there is come out of Egipte, a people, which couereth ye face of ye earth, and lyeth ouer agaynst me.

6. కాబట్టి నీవు దయచేసి వచ్చి నా నిమిత్తము ఈ జనమును శపించుము; వారు నాకంటె బలవంతులు; వారిని హతము చేయుటకు నేను బలమొందుదునేమో; అప్పుడు నేను ఈ దేశములోనుండి వారిని తోలివేయుదును; ఏలయనగా నీవు దీవించువాడు దీవింపబడుననియు శపించువాడు శపించబడుననియు నేనెరుగుదును.

6. Come now therfore, and curse me this people, for they are to mightie for me, yf peraduenture I might be able to smyte them, and to dryue them out of the lande. For I wote, that whom thou blessest, he is blessed: and whom thou cursest, he is cursed.

7. కాబట్టి మోయాబు పెద్దలును మిద్యాను పెద్దలును సోదె సొమ్మును చేత పట్టుకొని బిలామునొద్దకు వచ్చి బాలాకు మాటలను అతనితో చెప్పగా

7. And the Elders of the Moabites wente on with ye Elders of the Madianites, and had the rewarde of ye soyth sayenge in their handes, and they came vnto Balaam, & tolde him the wordes of Balaac.

8. అతడు వారితోయీ రాత్రి ఇక్కడనే ఉండుడి; యెహోవా నాకు సెలవిచ్చిన మాటలను నేను తిరిగి వచ్చి మీతో చెప్పెదననెను. అప్పుడు మోయాబు అధికారులు బిలాము నొద్ద బసచేసిరి.

8. And he saide vnto the: Tary here all night, & I will bringe you worde agayne, euen as the LORDE shal saye vnto me. So ye prynces of ye Moabites abode with Balaam.

9. దేవుడు బిలామునొద్దకు వచ్చినీ యొద్దనున్న యీ మనుష్యులు ఎవరని అడుగగా

9. And God came vnto Balaam, & sayde: What men are these, which are with ye?

10. బిలాము దేవునితో యిట్లనెనుసిప్పోరు కుమారుడైన బాలాకను మోయాబు రాజు

10. Balaam sayde vnto God: Balac ye sonne of Ziphor the kynge of the Moabites hath sent vnto me:

11. చిత్తగించుము; ఒక జనము ఐగుప్తునుండి బయలుదేరి వచ్చెను; వారు భూతల మును కప్పుచున్నారు; నీవు ఇప్పుడేవచ్చి నా నిమిత్తము వారిని శపింపుము; నేను వారితో యుద్ధముచేసి వారిని తోలివేయుదునేమో అని వీరిచేత నాకు వర్తమానము పంపెను.

11. Beholde, there is a people come out of Egipte, and couereth the face of the earth, come now therfore, & curse me the, yf peradueture I maye be able to fighte with them, & to dryue the out.

12. అందుకు దేవుడు నీవు వారితో వెళ్లకూడదు, ఆ ప్రజలను శపింపకూడదు, వారు ఆశీర్వదింపబడినవారు అని బిలాముతో చెప్పెను.

12. But God sayde vnto Balaam: Go not with them, & curse not that people, for they are blessed.

13. కాబట్టి బిలాము ఉదయమున లేచి బాలాకు అధికారులతోమీరు మీ స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్లుడి; మీతో కూడ వచ్చుటకు యెహోవా నాకు సెలవియ్యనని చెప్పుచున్నాడనగా

13. Then rose Balaam vp in the mornynge, & sayde vnto the prynces of Balac: Get you vnto youre londe, for the LORDE wyll not suffer me to go with you.

14. మోయాబు అధికారులు లేచి బాలాకు నొద్దకు వెళ్లిబిలాము మాతో కూడ రానొల్లడాయెననిరి.

14. And the prynces of ye Moabites gat the vp, came to Balac, & saide: Balaam refuseth to come wt vs.

15. అయినను బాలాకు వారి కంటె బహు ఘనతవహించిన మరి యెక్కువ మంది అధికారులను మరల పంపెను.

15. Then sent Balac yet a greater copany of prynces, & more honorable the they.

16. వారు బిలామునొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితోనీవు దయచేసి నాయొద్దకు వచ్చుటకు ఏమియు అడ్డము చెప్పకుము.

16. Whan they came to Balaam, they tolde him: Balac ye sonne of Ziphor sendeth ye this worde: Oh refuse not to come vnto me,

17. నేను నీకు బహు ఘనత కలుగజేసెదను; నీవు నాతో ఏమి చెప్పుదువో అది చేసెదను గనుక నీవు దయచేసి వచ్చి, నా నిమిత్తము ఈ జనమును శపించుమని సిప్పోరు కుమారుడైన బాలాకు చెప్పెననిరి.

17. for I wyll promote the vnto hye honoure, & wil do what so euer thou sayest vnto me. Come I praye the, curse me this people.

18. అందుకు బిలాముబాలాకు తన యింటెడు వెండి బంగారములను నాకిచ్చినను కొద్దిపనినైనను గొప్పపనినైనను చేయునట్లు నేను నా దేవుడైన యెహోవా నోటిమాట మీరలేను.

18. Balaam answered, & sayde vnto ye seruautes of Balac: Yf Balac wolde geue me his house full of syluer & golde, yet coulde I not go beyonde ye worde of the LORDE my God, to do litle or greate.

19. కాబట్టి మీరు దయచేసి యీ రాత్రి ఇక్కడ నుండుడి; యెహోవా నాతో నిక నేమి చెప్పునో నేను తెలిసికొందునని బాలాకు సేవకులకు ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

19. Neuertheles tary ye here this night, yt I maye were, what the LORDE wil saye more vnto me.

20. ఆ రాత్రి దేవుడు బిలామునొద్దకు వచ్చి ఆ మనుష్యులు నిన్ను పిలువ వచ్చినయెడల నీవు లేచి వారితో వెళ్లుము; అయితే నేను నీతో చెప్పిన మాటచొప్పుననే నీవు చేయవలెనని అతనికి సెలవిచ్చెను.

20. Then came God to Balaam by night, & saide vnto him: Yf the men are come to call the, get the vp then, and go with the: but what I shal saye vnto the, that shalt thou do.

21. ఉదయమున బిలాము లేచి తన గాడిదకు గంత కట్టి మోయాబు అధికారులతో కూడ వెళ్లెను.

21. Then rose Balaam vp in the mornynge, & sadled his Asse, & wente wt the prynces of ye Moabites.

22. అతడు వెళ్లుచుండగా దేవుని కోపము రగులుకొనెను; యెహోవా దూత అతనికి విరోధియై త్రోవలో నిలిచెను. అతడు తన గాడిదనెక్కి పోవుచుండగా అతని పనివారు ఇద్దరు అతనితోకూడ నుండిరి.

22. But the wrath of God waxed whote, because he wete. And the angell of ye LORDE stode in the waye, to withstode him. But he rode vpo his Asse, & two seruauntes wt him.

23. యెహోవా దూత ఖడ్గము దూసి చేత పట్టుకొని త్రోవలో నిలిచి యుండుట ఆ గాడిద చూచెను గనుక అది త్రోవను విడిచి పొలములోనికి పోయెను. బిలాము గాడిదను దారికి మలుపవలెనని దాని కొట్టగా

23. And ye Asse sawe ye angell of ye LORDE stodinge in ye waye, & his swerde drawen in his hade. And ye Asse turned a syde out of ye waye, & wete in to the felde. But Balaam smote her, yt she shulde go in the waye.

24. యెహోవా దూత యిరుప్రక్కలను గోడలుగల ద్రాక్షతోటల సందులో నిలిచెను.

24. Then stode the angell of the LORDE in ye pathe by the vynyardes, where there were walles on both the sydes.

25. గాడిద యెహోవా దూతను చూచి గోడమీద పడి బిలాము కాలును గోడకు అదిమెను గనుక అతడు దాని మరల కొట్టెను.

25. And whan ye Asse sawe the angell of the LORDE, she wrenshed vnto the wall, & thrust Balaams fote vnto the wall. And he smote her agayne.

26. యెహోవా దూత ముందు వెళ్లుచు కుడికైనను ఎడమకైనను తిరుగుటకు దారిలేని యిరుకు చోటను నిలువగా

26. The wete the angell of the LORDE farther, & stode in a narow place, where there was no waye to turne, nether to the righte hade ner to ye lefte.

27. గాడిద యెహోవా దూతను చూచి బిలాముతోకూడ క్రింద కూలబడెను గనుక బిలాము కోపముమండి తన చేతి కఱ్ఱతో గాడిదను కొట్టెను.

27. And whan the Asse sawe the angell of the LORDE, she fell downe vnder Balaam. Then was Balaams wrath furious, & smote the Asse with a staffe.

28. అప్పుడు యెహోవా ఆ గాడిదకు వాక్కు నిచ్చెను గనుక అది నీవు నన్ను ముమ్మారు కొట్టితివి; నేను నిన్నేమి చేసితినని బిలాముతో అనగా

28. Then opened the LORDE the mouth of ye Asse, and she sayde vnto Balaam: What haue I done vnto the, that thou hast smytten me now thre tymes?

29. బిలాము నీవు నామీద తిరుగబడితివి; నాచేత ఖడ్గమున్న యెడల నిన్ను చంపియుందునని గాడిదతో అనెను.

29. Balaam sayde vnto ye Asse: Because thou hast mocked me. Oh yt I had a swerde now in my hande, I wolde kyll the.

30. అందుకు గాడిద నేను నీదాననైనది మొదలుకొని నేటివరకు నీవు ఎక్కుచు వచ్చిన నీ గాడిదను కానా? నేనెప్పుడైన నీకిట్లు చేయుట కద్దా? అని బిలాముతో అనగా అతడులేదనెను.

30. The Asse sayde vnto Balaam: Am not I thine Asse, which thou hast rydden vpon in yi tyme vnto this daye? Was I euer wonte to do so vnto the? He sayde: No.

31. అంతలో యెహోవా బిలాము కన్నులు తెరచెను గనుక, దూసిన ఖడ్గము చేతపట్టుకొని త్రోవలో నిలిచియున్న యెహోవా దూతను అతడు చూచి తల వంచి సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారము చేయగా

31. Then opened the LORDE the eyes of Balaam, yt he sawe ye angell of the LORDE stondinge in ye waye, & a drawe swerde in his hade. And he enclyned him selfe, & bowed downe wt his face.

32. యెహోవా దూత యీ ముమ్మారు నీ గాడిదను నీవేల కొట్టితివి? ఇదిగో నా యెదుట నీ నడత విపరీతమైనది గనుక నేను నీకు విరోధినై బయలుదేరి వచ్చితిని.

32. And the angell of the LORDE sayde vnto him: Wherfore hast thou smytte thine Asse now thre tymes? Beholde, I am come out to resiste ye, for yi waye is frowarde, & cotrary vnto me.

33. ఆ గాడిద నన్ను చూచి యీ ముమ్మారు నా యెదుట నుండి తొలిగెను; అది నా యెదుట నుండి తొలగని యెడల నిశ్చయముగా నేనప్పుడే నిన్ను చంపి దాని ప్రాణమును రక్షించి యుందునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

33. And ye Asse sawe me, & auoyded fro me thre tymes: or els yf she had not turned asyde fro me, I had slayne the, & saued the Asse alyue.

34. అందుకు బిలాము నేను పాపముచేసితిని; నీవు నాకు ఎదురుగా త్రోవలో నిలుచుట నాకు తెలిసినది కాదు. కాబట్టి యీ పని నీ దృష్టికి చెడ్డదైతే నేను వెనుకకు వెళ్లెదనని యెహోవా దూతతో చెప్పగా

34. Then sayde Balaam vnto ye angell of ye LORDE: I haue synned, for I wyst not, that thou stodest in the waye agaynst me. And now yf it displease ye, I wil turne agayne.

35. యెహోవా దూత నీవు ఆ మనుష్యులతో కూడ వెళ్లుము. అయితే నేను నీతో చెప్పు మాటయేకాని మరేమియు పలుకకూడదని బిలాముతో చెప్పెను. అప్పుడు బిలాము బాలాకు అధికారులతో కూడ వెళ్లెను.

35. The angell of ye LORDE saide vnto him: Go with the me: but thou shalt speake nothinge els, then yt I shal saye vnto ye. So Balaam wente forth wt the princes of Balac.

36. బిలాము వచ్చెనని బాలాకు విని, ఆ పొలిమేరల చివరనున్న అర్నోను తీరమునందలి మోయాబు పట్టణమువరకు అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బయలువెళ్లగా

36. Whan Balac herde yt Balaam came, he wente out to mete him (in the cite of the Moabites yt lieth on the coaste of Arnon, which is on ye vttemost border)

37. బాలాకు బిలాముతో నిన్ను పిలుచుటకు నేను నీయొద్దకు దూతలను పంపియుంటిని గదా. నాయొద్దకు నీవేల రాకపోతివి? నిన్ను ఘనపరచ సమర్థుడను కానా? అనెను.

37. & sayde vnto him: Dyd not I sende for ye to call the? Wherfore camest thou not then vnto me? Thinkest thou yt I am not able to promote ye vnto honor?

38. అందుకు బిలాము ఇదిగో నీయొద్దకు వచ్చితిని; అయిన నేమి? ఏదైనను చెప్పుటకు నాకు శక్తి కలదా? దేవుడు నా నోట పలికించు మాటయే పలికెదనని బాలాకుతో చెప్పెను.

38. Balaam answered him: Lo, I am come vnto ye But how can I saye eny thinge els, the yt God putteth in my mouth? yt I must speake

39. అప్పుడు బిలాము బాలాకుతో కూడ వెళ్లెను. వారు కిర్యత్‌ హుచ్చోతుకు వచ్చినప్పుడు

39. So Balaam wente with Balac, and they came vnto the cite on the vttemost border of his lande.

40. బాలాకు ఎడ్లను గొఱ్ఱెలను బలిగా అర్పించి, కొంతభాగము బిలాముకును అతని యొద్దనున్న అధికారులకును పంపెను.

40. And Balac slewe oxen and shepe, and sent for Balaam, and for the prynces that were with him.

41. మరునాడు బాలాకు బిలామును తోడు కొనిపోయి, బయలు యొక్క ఉన్నత స్థలములమీదనుండి జనులను చివరవరకు చూడవలెనని అతనిని అచ్చోట ఎక్కించెను.

41. And in the mornynge, Balac toke Balaam, and they wete vp to the hye place of Baal, that from thece he might se vnto the vttemost parte of ye people
