1. రూబేనీయులకును గాదీయులకును అతివిస్తారమైన మందలుండెను గనుక యాజెరు ప్రదేశమును గిలాదు ప్రదేశమును మందలకు తగిన స్థలమని తెలిసికొని

1. The tribes of Reuben and Gad had many cattle. These people looked at the land near Jazer and Gilead. They saw that this land was good for their cattle.

2. వారు వచ్చి మోషేను యాజకుడగు ఎలియాజరును సమాజ ప్రధానులతొ

2. So the people from the tribes of Reuben and Gad came to Moses. They spoke to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the people.

3. అతారోతు దీబోను యాజెరు నిమ్రా హెష్బోను ఏలాలే షెబాము నెబో బెయోను అను స్థలములు, అనగా

3. They said, 'We, your servants, have many cattle. And the land that we have fought against is a good land for cattle. This land includes the area around Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sibmah, Nebo, and Beon.

4. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సమాజము ఎదుట యెహోవా జయించిన దేశము మందలకు తగిన ప్రదేశము. నీ సేవకులమైన మాకు మందలు కలవు.

5. కాబట్టి మా యెడల నీకు కటాక్షము కలిగినయెడల, మమ్మును యొర్దాను అద్దరికి దాటింపక నీ దాసులమైన మాకు ఈ దేశమును స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇమ్మనగా

5. If it pleases you, we would like this land to be given to us. Don't take us to the other side of the Jordan River.'

6. మోషే గాదీయులతోను రూబేనీయులతోను మీ సహోదరులు యుద్ధమునకు పోవుచుండగా మీరు ఇక్కడ కూర్చుండవచ్చునా?

6. Moses told the people from the tribes of Reuben and Gad, 'Will you let your brothers go and fight while you settle here?

7. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకిచ్చిన దేశమునకు వారు వెళ్లకయుండునట్లు మీరేల వారి హృదయములను అధైర్య పరచుదురు?

7. Why are you trying to discourage the Israelites? You will make them not want to cross the river and take the land that the Lord has given to them!

8. ఆ దేశమును చూచుటకు కాదేషు బర్నేయలోనుండి మీ తండ్రులను నేను పంపినప్పుడు వారును ఆలాగు చేసిరిగదా

8. Your fathers did the same thing to me. In Kadesh Barnea I sent spies to look at the land.

9. వారు ఎష్కోలు లోయలోనికి వెళ్లి ఆ దేశమును చూచి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల హృదయమును అధైర్యపరచిరి గనుక యెహోవా తమకిచ్చిన దేశమునకు వారు వెళ్లక పోయిరి.

9. These men went as far as Eshcol Valley. They saw the land, and they discouraged the Israelites. These men made the Israelites not want to go into the land that the Lord had given to them.

10. ఆ దినమున యెహోవా కోపము రగులుకొని

10. The Lord became very angry with the people. He made this promise:

11. ఇరువది ఏండ్లు మొదలుకొని పైప్రాయము కలిగి ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి వచ్చిన మనుష్యులలో పూర్ణ మనస్సుతో యెహోవాను అనుసరించిన కెనెజీయుడగు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడైన కాలేబును నూనుకుమారుడైన యెహోషువయు తప్ప

11. 'None of the people who came from Egypt and are 20 years old or older will be allowed to see this land. I made a promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I promised to give this land to these people, but they did not really follow me.

12. మరి ఎవడును పూర్ణమనస్సుతో నన్ను అనుసరింపలేదు గనుక నేను అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకు యాకోబులకు ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా నిచ్చిన దేశమును వారు తప్ప మరి ఎవరును చూడనే చూడరని ప్రమాణము చేసెను.

12. Only Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun really followed the Lord!'

13. అప్పుడు యెహోవా కోపము ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద రగులుకొనగా యెహోవా దృష్ఠికి చెడునడత నడిచిన ఆ తరమువారందరు నశించువరకు అరణ్యములో నలుబది ఏండ్లు ఆయన వారిని తిరుగులాడచేసెను.

13. The Lord was very angry with the Israelites. So he made the people stay in the desert for 40 years. He made them stay there until all the people who had sinned against the Lord were dead.

14. ఇప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెడల యెహోవాకు కోపము మరి ఎక్కువగా పుట్టించునట్లుగా ఆ పాపుల సంతానమైన మీరు మీ తండ్రులకు ప్రతిగా బయలుదేరి యున్నారు.

14. And now you are doing the same thing that your fathers did. You sinful people, do you want the Lord to be even more angry with his people?

15. మీరు ఆయనను అనుసరింపక వెనుకకు మళ్లినయెడల ఆయన ఈ అరణ్యములో జనులను ఇంక నిలువ చేయును. అట్లు మీరు ఈ సర్వజనమును నశింపచేసెదరనెను.

15. If you stop following the Lord, he will make Israel stay even longer in the desert. Then you will destroy all of these people!'

16. అందుకు వారు అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చి మేము ఇక్కడ మా మందలకొరకు దొడ్లను మా పిల్లల కొరకు పురములను కట్టుకొందుము.

16. But the people from the tribes of Reuben and Gad went to Moses. They said, 'We will build cities for our children and barns for our animals here.

17. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను వారివారి స్థలములకు చేర్చువరకు మేము వారి ముందర యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపడి సాగుదుము. అయితే మా పిల్లలు ఈ దేశనివాసుల భయముచేత ప్రాకారముగల పురములలో నివసింపవలెను.

17. Then our children can be safe from the other people who live in this land. But we will gladly come and help the other Israelites. We will bring them to their land.

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ప్రతివాడును తన తన స్వాస్థ్యమును పొందువరకు మా యిండ్లకు తిరిగి రాము.

18. We will not come back home until everyone in Israel has taken his part of the land.

19. తూర్పుదిక్కున యొర్దాను ఇవతల మాకు స్వాస్థ్యము దొరికెను గనుక యొర్దాను అవతల దూరముగా వారితో స్వాస్థ్యము పొందమనిరి.

19. We will not take any of the land west of the Jordan River. No, our part of the land is east of the Jordan River.'

20. అప్పుడు మోషే వారితోమీరు మీ మాటమీద నిలిచి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపడి యెహోవా తన యెదుటనుండి తన శత్రువులను వెళ్ల గొట్టువరకు

20. So Moses told them, 'If you do all of these things, this land will belong to you. But your soldiers must go before the Lord into battle.

21. యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మీరందరు యుద్ధ సన్నద్ధులై యొర్దాను అవతలికి వెళ్లినయెడల

21. Your soldiers must cross the Jordan River and force the enemy to leave the country.

22. ఆ దేశము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని జయింపబడిన తరువాత మీరు తిరిగి వచ్చి యెహోవా దృష్టికిని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దృష్టికిని నిర్దోషులై యుందురు; అప్పుడు ఈ దేశము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మీకు స్వాస్థ్యమగును.

22. After the Lord helps us all take the land, you can go back home. Then the Lord and Israel will not think that you are guilty. Then the Lord will let you have this land.

23. మీరు అట్లు చేయని యెడల యెహోవా దృష్టికి పాపముచేసిన వారగుదురు గనుక మీ పాపము మిమ్మును పట్టుకొనును అని తెలిసికొనుడి.

23. But if you don't do these things, you will be sinning against the Lord. And know for sure that you will be punished for your sin.

24. మీరు మీ పిల్లలకొరకు పురములను మీ మందల కొరకు దొడ్లను కట్టుకొని మీ నోటనుండి వచ్చిన మాట చొప్పున చేయుడనెను.

24. Build cities for your children and barns for your animals. But then, you must do what you promised.'

25. అందుకు గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులును మోషేతో మా యేలినవాడు ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్లు నీ దాసులమైన మేము చేసెదము.

25. Then the people from the tribes of Gad and Reuben said to Moses, 'We are your servants. You are our master, so we will do what you say.

26. మా పిల్లలు మా భార్యలు మా మందలు మా సమస్త పశువులు అక్కడ గిలాదు పురములలో ఉండును.

26. Our wives, children, and all our animals will stay in the Gilead cities.

27. నీ దాసులమైన మేము, అనగా మా సేనలో ప్రతి యోధుడును మా యేలినవాడు చెప్పినట్లు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధము చేయుటకు యొర్దాను అవతలికివచ్చెదమనిరి.

27. But we, your servants, will cross the Jordan River. We will march before the Lord into battle, as our master says.'

28. కాబట్టి మోషే వారినిగూర్చి యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు కును, నూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువకును, ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల గోత్రములలో పితరుల కుటుంబ ముల ప్రధానులకును ఆజ్ఞాపించి వారితో ఇట్లనెను

28. So Moses, Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and all the leaders of the tribes of Israel heard them make that promise.

29. గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులును అందరు యెహో వా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధమునకు సిద్దపడి మీతో కూడ యొర్దాను అవతలికి వెళ్లినయెడల ఆ దేశము మీచేత జయింపబడిన తరువాత మీరు గిలాదు దేశమును వారికి స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇయ్యవలెను.

29. Moses said to them, 'The people of Gad and Reuben will cross the Jordan River. They will march before the Lord into battle. They will help you take the land. And you will give the land of Gilead as their part of the country.

30. అయితే వారు మీతో కలిసి యోధులై ఆవలికి వెళ్లనియెడల వారు కనాను దేశమందే మీ మధ్యను స్వాస్థ్యములను పొందుదురనగా

30. They promise to help you take the land of Canaan. '

31. గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులును యెహోవా నీ దాసులమైన మాతో చెప్పినట్లే చేసెదము.

31. The people of Gad and Reuben answered, 'We promise to do what the Lord commanded.

32. మేము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులమైనది దాటి కనాను దేశములోనికి వెళ్లెదము. అప్పుడు యొర్దాను ఇవతల మేము స్వాస్థ్యమును పొందెదమని ఉత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

32. We will cross the Jordan River and march before the Lord into the land of Canaan. And our part of the country is the land east of the Jordan River.'

33. అప్పుడు మోషే వారికి, అనగా గాదీయులకును రూబేనీయులకును యోసేపు కుమారుడైన మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపు వారికిని, అమోరీయుల రాజైన సీహోను రాజ్యమును, బాషాను రాజైన ఓగు రాజ్యమును, దాని ప్రాంతపురములతో ఆ దేశమును చట్టునుండు ఆ దేశపురములను ఇచ్చెను.

33. So Moses gave that land to the people of Gad, to the people of Reuben, and to half the tribe of Manasseh. (Manasseh was Joseph's son.) That land included the kingdom of Sihon the Amorite and the kingdom of King Og of Bashan and all the cities around that area.

34. గాదీయులు దీబోను అతారోతు అరోయేరు అత్రోతు షోపాను

34. The people of Gad built the cities of Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,

35. యాజెరు యొగ్బెహ బేత్నిమ్రా బేత్హారాను

35. Atroth Shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,

36. అను ప్రాకారములుగల పురములను మందల దొడ్లను కట్టుకొనిరి.

36. Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran. They built cities with strong walls, and they built barns for their animals.

37. రూబేనీయులు మారుపేరుపొందిన హెష్బోను ఏలాలే కిర్యతాయిము నెబో బయల్మెయోను

37. The people of Reuben built Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,

38. షిబ్మా అను పురములను కట్టి, తాము కట్టిన ఆ పురములకు వేరు పేరులు పెట్టిరి.

38. Nebo, Baal Meon, and Sibmah. They used the names of the cities that they rebuilt. But they changed the names of Nebo and Baal Meon.

39. మనష్షే కుమారులైన మాకీరీయులు గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి దాని పట్టుకొని దానిలోనున్న అమోరీయులను వెళ్లగొట్టిరి.

39. People from Makir's family group went to Gilead. (Makir was Manasseh's son.) They defeated the city. They defeated the Amorites who lived there.

40. మోషే మనష్షే కుమారుడైన మాకీరుకు గిలాదునిచ్చెను

40. So Moses gave Gilead to Makir from the tribe of Manasseh, and his family settled there.

41. అతడు అక్కడ నివసించెను. మనష్షే కుమారుడైన యాయీరు వెళ్లి వారి పల్లెలను పట్టుకొని వాటికి యాయీరు పల్లెలను పేరు పెట్టెను.

41. Jair, from the family of Manasseh, defeated the small towns there. Then he called them Towns of Jair.

42. నోబహు వెళ్లి కెనాతును దాని గ్రామములను పట్టుకొని దానికి నోబహు అని తన పేరు పెట్టెను.

42. Nobah defeated Kenath and the small towns near it. Then he called that place by his own name.
