1. రూబేనీయులకును గాదీయులకును అతివిస్తారమైన మందలుండెను గనుక యాజెరు ప్రదేశమును గిలాదు ప్రదేశమును మందలకు తగిన స్థలమని తెలిసికొని

1. The tribes of Reuben and Gad had a lot of livestock. When they saw how suitable the land of Jazer and Gilead was for cattle,

2. వారు వచ్చి మోషేను యాజకుడగు ఎలియాజరును సమాజ ప్రధానులతొ

2. they went to Moses, Eleazar, and the other leaders of the community and said,

3. అతారోతు దీబోను యాజెరు నిమ్రా హెష్బోను ఏలాలే షెబాము నెబో బెయోను అను స్థలములు, అనగా

3. 'This region which the LORD has helped the Israelites occupy---the towns of Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sibmah, Nebo, and Beon---is good land for livestock, and we have so much livestock.

4. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సమాజము ఎదుట యెహోవా జయించిన దేశము మందలకు తగిన ప్రదేశము. నీ సేవకులమైన మాకు మందలు కలవు.

4. (SEE 32:3)

5. కాబట్టి మా యెడల నీకు కటాక్షము కలిగినయెడల, మమ్మును యొర్దాను అద్దరికి దాటింపక నీ దాసులమైన మాకు ఈ దేశమును స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇమ్మనగా

5. Please give us this land as our property, and do not make us cross the Jordan River and settle there.'

6. మోషే గాదీయులతోను రూబే నీయులతోను మీ సహోదరులు యుద్ధమునకు పోవు చుండగా మీరు ఇక్కడ కూర్చుండవచ్చునా?

6. Moses replied, 'Do you want to stay here while the other Israelites go to war?

7. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకిచ్చిన దేశమునకు వారు వెళ్లకయుండునట్లు మీరేల వారి హృదయములను అధైర్య పరచుదురు?

7. How dare you try to discourage the people of Israel from crossing the Jordan into the land which the LORD has given them?

8. ఆ దేశమును చూచుటకు కాదేషు బర్నే యలోనుండి మీ తండ్రులను నేను పంపినప్పుడు వారును ఆలాగు చేసిరిగదా

8. That is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land.

9. వారు ఎష్కోలు లోయలోనికి వెళ్లి ఆ దేశమును చూచి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల హృదయమును అధైర్యపరచిరి గనుక యెహోవా తమకిచ్చిన దేశమునకు వారు వెళ్లక పోయిరి.

9. They went as far as Eshcol Valley and saw the land, but when they returned, they discouraged the people from entering the land which the LORD had given them.

10. ఆ దినమున యెహోవా కోపము రగులుకొని

10. The LORD became angry that day and made a promise:

11. ఇరువది ఏండ్లు మొదలుకొని పైప్రాయము కలిగి ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి వచ్చిన మనుష్యులలో పూర్ణ మనస్సుతో యెహోవాను అనుసరించిన కెనెజీయుడగు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడైన కాలేబును నూనుకుమారుడైన యెహోషువయు తప్ప

11. 'I swear that because they did not remain loyal to me, none of the men twenty years old or older who came out of Egypt will enter the land that I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.'

12. మరి ఎవడును పూర్ణమనస్సుతో నన్ను అనుసరింపలేదు గనుక నేను అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకు యాకోబులకు ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా నిచ్చిన దేశమును వారు తప్ప మరి ఎవరును చూడనే చూడరని ప్రమాణము చేసెను.

12. This included everyone, except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun; they remained loyal to the LORD.

13. అప్పుడు యెహోవా కోపము ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద రగులుకొనగా యెహోవా దృష్ఠికి చెడునడత నడిచిన ఆ తరమువారందరు నశించువరకు అరణ్యములో నలుబది ఏండ్లు ఆయన వారిని తిరుగులాడచేసెను.

13. The LORD became angry with the people and made them wander in the wilderness forty years until that whole generation that had displeased him was dead.

14. ఇప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులయెడల యెహోవాకు కోపము మరి ఎక్కువగా పుట్టించునట్లుగా ఆ పాపుల సంతాన మైన మీరు మీ తండ్రులకు ప్రతిగా బయలుదేరి యున్నారు.

14. And now you have taken your ancestors' place, a new generation of sinful people ready to bring down the fierce anger of the LORD on Israel again.

15. మీరు ఆయనను అనుసరింపక వెనుకకు మళ్లినయెడల ఆయన ఈ అరణ్యములో జనులను ఇంక నిలువ చేయును. అట్లు మీరు ఈ సర్వజనమును నశింప చేసెదరనెను.

15. If you people of Reuben and Gad refuse to follow him now, he will once again abandon all these people in the wilderness, and you will be responsible for their destruction.'

16. అందుకు వారు అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చి మేము ఇక్కడ మా మందలకొరకు దొడ్లను మా పిల్లల కొరకు పురములను కట్టుకొందుము.

16. They approached Moses and said, 'First, allow us to build stone enclosures here for our sheep and fortified towns for our dependents.

17. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను వారివారి స్థలములకు చేర్చువరకు మేము వారి ముందర యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపడి సాగుదుము. అయితే మా పిల్లలు ఈ దేశనివాసుల భయముచేత ప్రాకారముగల పురములలో నివసింపవలెను.

17. Then we will be ready to go with the other Israelites into battle and lead the attack until we have settled them in the land that will be theirs. In the meantime, our dependents can live here in the fortified towns, safe from the people of this land.

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ప్రతివాడును తన తన స్వాస్థ్యమును పొందువరకు మా యిండ్లకు తిరిగి రాము.

18. We will not return to our homes until all the other Israelites have taken possession of the land assigned to them.

19. తూర్పుదిక్కున యొర్దాను ఇవతల మాకు స్వాస్థ్యము దొరికెను గనుక యొర్దాను అవతల దూరముగా వారితో స్వాస్థ్యము పొందమనిరి.

19. We will not take possession of any property among them on the other side of the Jordan, because we have received our share here east of the Jordan.'

20. అప్పుడు మోషే వారితోమీరు మీ మాటమీద నిలిచి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపడి యెహోవా తన యెదుటనుండి తన శత్రువులను వెళ్ల గొట్టువరకు

20. Moses answered, 'If you really mean what you say, then here in the presence of the LORD get ready to go into battle.

21. యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మీరందరు యుద్ధ సన్నద్ధులై యొర్దాను అవతలికి వెళ్లినయెడల

21. All your fighting men are to cross the Jordan and under the command of the LORD they are to attack our enemies until the LORD defeats them

22. ఆ దేశము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని జయింపబడిన తరువాత మీరు తిరిగి వచ్చి యెహోవా దృష్టికిని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దృష్టికిని నిర్దోషులై యుందురు; అప్పుడు ఈ దేశము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మీకు స్వాస్థ్యమగును.

22. and takes possession of the land. After that, you may return, because you will have fulfilled your obligation to the LORD and to the other Israelites. Then the LORD will acknowledge that this land east of the Jordan is yours.

23. మీరు అట్లు చేయని యెడల యెహోవా దృష్టికి పాపముచేసిన వారగుదురు గనుక మీ పాపము మిమ్మును పట్టుకొనును అని తెలిసి కొనుడి.

23. But if you do not keep your promise, I warn you that you will be sinning against the LORD. Make no mistake about it; you will be punished for your sin.

24. మీరు మీ పిల్లలకొరకు పురములను మీ మందల కొరకు దొడ్లను కట్టుకొని మీ నోటనుండి వచ్చిన మాట చొప్పున చేయుడనెను.

24. So build your towns and the enclosures for your sheep, but do what you have promised!'

25. అందుకు గాదీయులును రూబే నీయులును మోషేతో మా యేలినవాడు ఆజ్ఞాపించి నట్లు నీ దాసులమైన మేము చేసెదము.

25. The men of Gad and Reuben said, 'Sir, we will do as you command.

26. మా పిల్లలు మా భార్యలు మా మందలు మా సమస్త పశువులు అక్కడ గిలాదు పురములలో ఉండును.

26. Our wives and children and our cattle and sheep will remain here in the towns of Gilead.

27. నీ దాసులమైన మేము, అనగా మా సేనలో ప్రతి యోధుడును మా యేలినవాడు చెప్పినట్లు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధము చేయుటకు యొర్దాను అవతలికివచ్చెదమనిరి.

27. But all of us are ready to go into battle under the LORD's command. We will cross the Jordan and fight, just as you have said.'

28. కాబట్టి మోషే వారినిగూర్చి యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు కును, నూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువకును, ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల గోత్రములలో పితరుల కుటుంబ ముల ప్రధానులకును ఆజ్ఞాపించి వారితో ఇట్లనెను

28. So Moses gave these commands to Eleazar, Joshua, and the other leaders of Israel:

29. గాదీయులును రూబే నీయులును అందరు యెహో వా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధమునకు సిద్దపడి మీతో కూడ యొర్దాను అవతలికి వెళ్లినయెడల ఆ దేశము మీచేత జయింపబడిన తరువాత మీరు గిలాదు దేశమును వారికి స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇయ్యవలెను.

29. 'If the men of Gad and Reuben cross the Jordan ready for battle at the LORD's command and if with their help you are able to conquer the land, then give them the land of Gilead as their property.

30. అయితే వారు మీతో కలిసి యోధులై ఆవలికి వెళ్లనియెడల వారు కనాను దేశమందే మీ మధ్యను స్వాస్థ్యములను పొందు దురనగా

30. But if they do not cross the Jordan and go into battle with you, they are to receive their share of the property in the land of Canaan, as you do.'

31. గాదీయులును రూబేనీయులునుయెహోవా నీ దాసులమైన మాతో చెప్పినట్లే చేసెదము.

31. The men of Gad and Reuben answered, 'Sir, we will do as the LORD has commanded.

32. మేము యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులమై నది దాటి కనానుదేశములోనికి వెళ్లెదము. అప్పుడు యొర్దాను ఇవతల మేము స్వాస్థ్యమును పొందెదమని ఉత్తర మిచ్చిరి.

32. Under his command we will cross into the land of Canaan and go into battle, so that we can retain our property here east of the Jordan.'

33. అప్పుడు మోషే వారికి, అనగా గాదీయులకును రూబే నీయులకును యోసేపు కుమారుడైన మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపు వారికిని, అమోరీయుల రాజైన సీహోను రాజ్యమును, బాషాను రాజైన ఓగు రాజ్యమును, దాని ప్రాంతపురములతో ఆ దేశమును చట్టునుండు ఆ దేశపురములను ఇచ్చెను.

33. So Moses assigned to the tribes of Gad and Reuben and to half the tribe of Manasseh all the territory of King Sihon of the Amorites and King Og of Bashan, including the towns and the country around them.

34. గాదీయులు దీబోను అతారోతు అరోయేరు అత్రోతు షోపాను

34. The tribe of Gad rebuilt the fortified towns of Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,

35. యాజెరు యొగ్బెహ బేత్నిమ్రా బేత్హారాను

35. Atroth Shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,

36. అను ప్రాకారములుగల పురములను మందల దొడ్లను కట్టు కొనిరి.

36. Beth Nimrah, and Beth Haran.

37. రూబేనీయులు మారుపేరుపొందిన హెష్బోను ఏలాలే కిర్యతాయిము నెబో బయల్మెయోను

37. The tribe of Reuben rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,

38. షిబ్మా అను పురములను కట్టి, తాము కట్టిన ఆ పురములకు వేరు పేరులు పెట్టిరి.

38. Nebo, Baal Meon (this name was changed), and Sibmah. They gave new names to the towns they rebuilt.

39. మనష్షే కుమారులైన మాకీరీయులు గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి దాని పట్టుకొని దానిలోనున్న అమోరీయులను వెళ్లగొట్టిరి.

39. The clan of Machir son of Manasseh invaded the land of Gilead, occupied it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.

40. మోషే మనష్షే కుమారు డైన మాకీరుకు గిలాదునిచ్చెను

40. So Moses gave Gilead to the clan of Machir, and they lived there.

41. అతడు అక్కడ నివ సించెను. మనష్షే కుమారుడైన యాయీరు వెళ్లి వారి పల్లెలను పట్టుకొని వాటికి యాయీరు పల్లెలను పేరు పెట్టెను.

41. Jair, of the tribe of Manasseh, attacked and captured some villages and named them 'Villages of Jair.'

42. నోబహు వెళ్లి కెనాతును దాని గ్రామము లను పట్టుకొని దానికి నోబహు అని తన పేరు పెట్టెను.

42. Nobah attacked and captured Kenath and its villages, and he renamed it Nobah, after himself.
