1. వారు విసుకక నిత్యము ప్రార్థన చేయుచుండవలె ననుటకు ఆయన వారితో ఈ ఉపమానము చెప్పెను.

1. ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).

2. దేవునికి భయపడకయు మనుష్యులను లక్ష్య పెట్టకయు నుండు ఒక న్యాయాధిపతి యొక పట్టణ ములో ఉండెను.

2. He said, In a certain city there was a judge who neither reverenced and feared God nor respected or considered man.

3. ఆ పట్టణములో ఒక విధవరాలును ఉండెను. ఆమె అతనియొద్దకు తరచుగావచ్చి నా ప్రతివాదికిని నాకును న్యాయము తీర్చుమని అడుగుచు వచ్చెను గాని

3. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, Protect and defend and give me justice against my adversary.

4. అతడు కొంతకాలము ఒప్పకపోయెను. తరువాత అతడు - నేను దేవునికి భయపడకయు మనుష్యులను లక్ష్యపెట్టకయు ఉండినను

4. And for a time he would not; but later he said to himself, Though I have neither reverence or fear for God nor respect or consideration for man,

5. ఈ విధవరాలు నన్ను తొందరపెట్టుచున్నది గనుక ఆమె మాటి మాటికి వచ్చి గోజాడకుండునట్లు ఆమెకు న్యాయము తీర్తునని తనలోతాననుకొనెను.

5. Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me.

6. మరియు ప్రభువిట్లనెను అన్యాయస్థుడైన ఆ న్యాయాధి పతి చెప్పిన మాట వినుడి.

6. Then the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says!

7. దేవుడు తాను ఏర్పరచుకొనిన వారు దివారాత్రులు తన్నుగూర్చి మొఱ్ఱపెట్టుకొను చుండగా వారికి న్యాయము తీర్చడా?

7. And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?

8. ఆయన వారికి త్వరగా న్యాయము తీర్చును; వారినిషయమే గదా ఆయన దీర్ఘశాంతము చూపుచున్నాడని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను. అయినను మనుష్య కుమారుడు వచ్చునప్పుడు ఆయన భూమి మీద విశ్వాసము కనుగొనునా?

8. I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?

9. తామే నీతిమంతులని తమ్ము నమ్ముకొని యితరులను తృణీకరించు కొందరితో ఆయన ఈ ఉపమానము చెప్పెను.

9. He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves and were confident that they were righteous [that they were upright and in right standing with God] and scorned and made nothing of all the rest of men:

10. ప్రార్థనచేయుటకై యిద్దరు మనుష్యులు దేవాలయమునకు వెళ్లిరి. వారిలో ఒకడు పరిసయ్యుడు, ఒకడు సుంకరి.

10. Two men went up into the temple [enclosure] to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11. పరిసయ్యుడు నిలువబడిదేవా, నేను చోరులును అన్యాయస్థులును వ్యభిచారులునైన యితర మనుష్యులవలెనైనను, ఈ సుంకరివలెనైనను ఉండనందుకు నీకు కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించుచున్నాను.

11. The Pharisee took his stand ostentatiously and began to pray thus before and with himself: God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men--extortioners (robbers), swindlers [unrighteous in heart and life], adulterers--or even like this tax collector here.

12. వారమునకు రెండు మారులు ఉప వాసము చేయుచు నా సంపాదన అంతటిలో పదియవ వంతు చెల్లించుచున్నానని తనలోతాను ప్రార్థించుచుండెను.

12. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I gain.

13. అయితే సుంకరి దూరముగా నిలుచుండి, ఆకాశమువైపు కన్ను లెత్తుటకైనను ధైర్యముచాలక రొమ్ము కొట్టుకొనుచుదేవా, పాపినైన నన్ను కరుణించుమని పలికెను.

13. But the tax collector, [merely] standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, O God, be favorable (be gracious, be merciful) to me, the especially wicked sinner that I am!

14. అతనికంటె ఇతడు నీతిమంతుడుగా తీర్చబడి తన యింటికి వెళ్లెనని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను. తన్ను తాను హెచ్చించుకొనువాడు తగ్గింపబడుననియు తన్ను తాను తగ్గించుకొనువాడు హెచ్చింపబడుననియు చెప్పెను.

14. I tell you, this man went down to his home justified (forgiven and made upright and in right standing with God), rather than the other man; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.

15. తమ శిశువులను ముట్టవలెనని కొందరు ఆయనయొద్దకు వారిని తీసికొనిరాగా ఆయన శిష్యులు అది చూచి తీసి కొనివచ్చిన వారిని గద్దించిరి.

15. Now they were also bringing [even] babies to Him that He might touch them, and when the disciples noticed it, they reproved them.

16. అయితే యేసు వారిని తనయొద్దకు పిలిచిచిన్న బిడ్డలను ఆటంకపరచక వారిని నాయొద్దకు రానియ్యుడి, దేవుని రాజ్యము ఈలాటివారిది.

16. But Jesus called them [the parents] to Him, saying, Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such [as these] belongs the kingdom of God.

17. చిన్న బిడ్డవలె దేవుని రాజ్యము అంగీకరింపనివాడు దానిలో ఎంతమాత్రమును ప్రవేశింపడని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

17. Truly I say to you, whoever does not accept and receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a little child [does] shall not in any way enter it [at all].

18. ఒక అధికారి ఆయనను చూచి సద్బోధకుడా, నిత్య జీవమునకు వారసుడనగుటకు నేనేమి చేయవలెనని ఆయన నడిగెను.

18. And a certain ruler asked Him, Good Teacher [You who are essentially and perfectly morally good], what shall I do to inherit eternal life [to partake of eternal salvation in the Messiah's kingdom]?

19. అందుకు యేసు నేను సత్పురుషుడనని యేల చెప్పుచున్నావు? దేవుడొక్కడే తప్ప మరి ఎవడును సత్పురుషుడు కాడు.

19. Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me [essentially and perfectly morally] good? No one is [essentially and perfectly morally] good--except God only.

20. వ్యభిచరింప వద్దు, నరహత్యచేయ వద్దు, దొంగిలవద్దు, అబద్ధ సాక్ష్యము పలుకవద్దు, నీ తలి దండ్రులను సన్మానింపుమను ఆజ్ఞలను ఎరుగుదువు గదా అని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

20. You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not witness falsely, honor your father and your mother. [Exod. 20:12-16; Deut. 5:16-20.]

21. అందుకతడు బాల్యమునుండి వీటినన్నిటిని అనుసరించుచునే యున్నాననెను.

21. And he replied, All these I have kept from my youth.

22. యేసు వినినీకింక ఒకటి కొదువగా నున్నది; నీకు కలిగినవన్నియు అమ్మి బీదలకిమ్ము, అప్పుడు పరలోకమందు నీకు ధనము కలుగును; నీవు వచ్చి నన్ను వెంబడింపుమని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

22. And when Jesus heard it, He said to him, One thing you still lack. Sell everything that you have and divide [the money] among the poor, and you will have [rich] treasure in heaven; and come back [and] follow Me [become My disciple, join My party, and accompany Me].

23. అతడు మిక్కిలి ధనవంతుడు గనుక ఈ మాటలు విని మిక్కిలి వ్యసనపడగా

23. But when he heard this, he became distressed and very sorrowful, for he was rich--exceedingly so.

24. యేసు అతని చూచి ఆస్తిగలవారు దేవుని రాజ్యములో ప్రవేశించుట ఎంతో దుర్లభము.

24. Jesus, observing him, said, How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!

25. ధనవంతుడు దేవుని రాజ్యములో ప్రవేశించుట కంటె సూదిబెజ్జములో ఒంటెదూరుట సులభమని చెప్పెను.

25. For it is easier for a camel to enter through a needle's eye than [for] a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

26. ఇది వినినవారు ఆలాగైతే ఎవడు రక్షణ పొందగలడని అడుగగా

26. And those who heard it said, Then who can be saved?

27. ఆయన మనుష్యులకు అసాధ్యములైనవి దేవునికి సాధ్యములని చెప్పెను.

27. But He said, What is impossible with men is possible with God. [Gen. 18:14; Jer. 32:17.]

28. పేతురు ఇదిగో మేము మాకు కలిగినవి విడిచిపెట్టి నిన్ను వెంబడించితిమనగా

28. And Peter said, See, we have left our own [things--home, family, and business] and have followed You.

29. ఆయన దేవుని రాజ్యము నిమిత్తమై యింటినైనను భార్యనైనను అన్నదమ్ములనైనను తలిదండ్రుల నైనను పిల్లలనైనను విడిచిపెట్టినవాడెవడును,

29. And He said to them, I say to you truly, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

30. ఇహమందు చాలరెట్లును పరమందు నిత్యజీవమును పొందకపోడని నిశ్చయముగా మీతో చెప్పుచున్నానని వారితో అనెను.

30. Who will not receive in return many times more in this world and, in the coming age, eternal life.

31. ఆయన తన పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యులను పిలిచి ఇదిగో యెరూషలేమునకు వెళ్లుచున్నాము; మనుష్యకుమారుని గూర్చి ప్రవక్తలచేత వ్రాయబడిన మాటలన్నియు నెరవేర్చబడును.

31. Then taking the Twelve [apostles] aside, He said to them, Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written about the Son of Man through and by the prophets will be fulfilled. [Isa. 53:1-12.]

32. ఆయన అన్యజనుల కప్పగింపబడును; వారు ఆయనను అపహసించి, అవమానపరచి, ఆయనమీద ఉమ్మి వేసి,

32. For He will be handed over to the Gentiles and will be made sport of and scoffed and jeered at and insulted and spit upon. [Isa. 50:6.]

33. ఆయనను కొరడాలతో కొట్టి చంపుదురు; మూడవ దినమున ఆయన మరల లేచునని చెప్పెను.

33. They will flog Him and kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again. [Ps. 16:10.]

34. వారు ఈ మాటలలో ఒకటైనను గ్రహింపలేదు; ఈ సంగతి వారికి మరుగు చేయబడెను గనుక ఆయన చెప్పిన సంగతులు వారికి బోధపడలేదు.

34. But they understood nothing of these things; His words were a mystery and hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what He was telling them.

35. ఆయన యెరికో పట్టణమునకు సమీపించినప్పుడు ఒక గ్రుడ్డివాడు త్రోవప్రక్కను కూర్చుండి భిక్షమడుగుకొను చుండెను.

35. As He came near to Jericho, it occurred that a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

36. జనసమూహము దాటిపోవుచున్నట్టు వాడు చప్పుడు విని ఇది ఏమని అడుగగా

36. And hearing a crowd going by, he asked what it meant.

37. వారునజరేయుడైన యేసు ఈ మార్గమున వెళ్లుచున్నాడని వానితో చెప్పిరి.

37. They told him, Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.

38. అప్పుడు వాడు యేసూ, దావీదు కుమారుడా, నన్ను కరుణించుమని కేకలువేయగా

38. And he shouted, saying, Jesus, Son of David, take pity and have mercy on me!

39. ఊరకుండుమని ముందర నడుచుచుండినవారు వానిని గద్దించిరి గాని, వాడు మరి ఎక్కువగాదావీదు కుమారుడా, నన్ను కరుణించుమని కేకలువేసెను.

39. But those who were in front reproved him, telling him to keep quiet; yet he screamed and shrieked so much the more, Son of David, take pity and have mercy on me!

40. అంతట యేసు నిలిచి, వానిని తనయొద్దకు తీసికొని రమ్మనెను.

40. Then Jesus stood still and ordered that he be led to Him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him,

41. వాడు దగ్గరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆయన నేను నీకేమి చేయ గోరుచున్నావని అడుగగా, వాడుప్రభువా, చూపు పొందగోరుచున్నాననెను.

41. What do you want Me to do for you? He said, Lord, let me receive my sight!

42. యేసు చూపు పొందుము, నీ విశ్వాసము నిన్ను స్వస్థపరచెనని వానితో చెప్పెను;

42. And Jesus said to him, Receive your sight! Your faith (your trust and confidence that spring from your faith in God) has healed you.

43. వెంటనే వాడు చూపుపొంది దేవుని మహిమపరచుచు ఆయనను వెంబడించెను. ప్రజలందరు అది చూచి దేవుని స్తోత్రము చేసిరి.

43. And instantly he received his sight and began to follow Jesus, recognizing, praising, and honoring God; and all the people, when they saw it, praised God.
