1. అప్పుడు పిలాతు యేసును పట్టుకొని ఆయనను కొరడాలతో కొట్టించెను.

1. Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him beaten.

2. సైనికులు ముండ్లతో కిరీటమును అల్లి ఆయన తలమీద పెట్టి

2. The soldiers put a crown of thorns on His head. They put a purple coat on Him.

3. ఊదారంగు వస్త్రము ఆయనకు తొడిగించి ఆయనయొద్దకు వచ్చి యూదుల రాజా, శుభమని చెప్పి ఆయనను అర చేతులతో కొట్టిరి.

3. Then they said, 'Hello, King of the Jews!' and hit Him with their hands.

4. పిలాతు మరల వెలుపలికి వచ్చిఇదిగో ఈయనయందు ఏ దోషమును నాకు కనబడలేదని మీకు తెలియునట్లు ఈయనను మీయొద్దకు వెలుపలికి తీసికొని వచ్చుచున్నానని వారితో అనెను.

4. Pilate went out again and said to the people, 'See, I bring Him out to you so you will know I do not find Him guilty.'

5. ఆ ముండ్ల కిరీటమును ఊదారంగు వస్త్రమును ధరించినవాడై, యేసు వెలుపలికి రాగా, పిలాతు - ఇదిగో ఈ మనుష్యుడు అని వారితో చెప్పెను.

5. Jesus came out. He had on the crown of thorns and a purple coat. Pilate said to the people, 'See! This is the Man!'

6. ప్రధాన యాజకులును బంట్రౌతులును ఆయనను చూచి సిలువవేయుము సిలువవేయుము అని కేకలువేయగా పిలాతు - ఆయనయందు ఏ దోషమును నాకు కనబడలేదు గనుక మీరే ఆయనను తీసికొనిపోయి సిలువవేయుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

6. The religious leaders and the soldiers saw Him. They spoke with loud voices, 'Nail Him to a cross! Nail Him to a cross!' Pilate said, 'Take Him yourselves and nail Him to a cross. As for me, I do not find Him guilty.'

7. The Jews said to Pilate, 'We have a Law that says He should die because He has said He is the Son of God.'

8. పిలాతు ఆ మాట విని మరి యెక్కువగా భయపడి, తిరిగి అధికారమందిరములో ప్రవేశించి

8. When Pilate heard them say this, he was more afraid.

9. నీవెక్కడ నుండి వచ్చితివని యేసును అడిగెను; అయితే యేసు అతనికి ఏ ఉత్తరము ఇయ్యలేదు

9. He went into the court room again. He said to Jesus, 'Where do You come from?' Jesus did not say a word.

10. గనుక పిలాతునాతో మాటలాడవా? నిన్ను విడుదల చేయుటకు నాకు అధికారము కలదనియు, నిన్ను సిలువవేయుటకు నాకు అధికారము కలదనియు నీ వెరుగవా? అని ఆయనతో అనెను.

10. Pilate said, 'Will You not speak to me? Do You not know that I have the right and the power to nail You to a cross? I have the right and the power to let You go free also.'

11. అందుకు యేసుపైనుండి నీకు ఇయ్యబడి యుంటేనే తప్ప నామీద నీకు ఏ అధికారమును ఉండదు; అందుచేత నన్ను నీకు అప్పగించిన వానికి ఎక్కువ పాపము కలదనెను.

11. Jesus said, 'You would not have any right or power over Me if it were not given you from above. For this reason the one who handed Me over to you has the worse sin.'

12. ఈ మాటనుబట్టి పిలాతు ఆయనను విడుదల చేయుటకు యత్నముచేసెను గాని యూదులునీవు ఇతని విడుదల చేసితివా కైసరునకు స్నేహితుడవు కావు; తాను రాజునని చెప్పుకొను ప్రతివాడును కైసరునకు విరోధముగా మాటలాడుచున్నవాడే అని కేకలువేసిరి.

12. When Pilate heard this, he wanted to let Jesus go free. But the Jews kept saying, 'If you let this Man go free, you are not a friend of Caesar! Whoever makes himself as a king is working against Caesar.'

13. పిలాతు ఈ మాటలు విని, యేసును బయటికి తీసికొనివచ్చి, రాళ్లు పర చిన స్థలమందు న్యాయపీఠముమీద కూర్చుండెను. హెబ్రీ భాషలో ఆ స్థలమునకు గబ్బతా అని పేరు.

13. When Pilate heard this, he had Jesus brought in front of him. Pilate sat down at the place where men stand in front of him if they are thought to be guilty. The place is called the Stone Floor.

14. ఆ దినము పస్కాను సిద్ధపరచు దినము; అప్పుడు ఉదయము ఆరు గంటలు కావచ్చెను. అతడుఇదిగో మీ రాజు అని యూదులతో చెప్పగా

14. It was the day to get ready for the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt. It was about noon. Pilate said to the Jews, 'See, your King!'

15. అందుకు వారు ఇతనిని సంహ రించుము, సంహరించుము, సిలువవేయుము అని కేకలు వేసిరి. పిలాతుమీ రాజును సిలువవేయుదునా? అని వారిని అడుగగా ప్రధానయాజకులుకైసరు తప్ప మాకు వేరొక రాజు లేడనిరి.

15. They spoke with a loud voice, 'Take Him away! Nail Him to a cross!' Pilate said to them, 'Do you want me to nail your King to a cross?' The head religious leaders said, 'We have no king but Caesar!'

16. అప్పుడు సిలువవేయబడుటకై అతడాయనను వారికి అప్పగించెను.

16. Then Pilate handed Him over to be nailed to a cross. They took Jesus and led Him away.

17. వారు యేసును తీసికొనిపోయిరి. ఆయన తన సిలువ మోసికొని కపాలస్థలమను చోటికి వెళ్లెను. హెబ్రీ బాషలో దానికి గొల్గొతా అని పేరు.

17. Jesus carried His own cross to a hill called the Place of the Skull.

18. అక్కడ ఈ వైపున ఒకనిని ఆ వైపున ఒకనిని మధ్యను యేసును ఉంచి ఆయనతోకూడ ఇద్దరిని సిలువవేసిరి.

18. There they nailed Him to the cross. With Him were two others. There was one on each side of Jesus.

19. మరియు పిలాతు యూదులరాజైన నజరేయుడగు యేసు అను పైవిలాసము వ్రాయించి సిలువమీద పెట్టించెను.

19. Then Pilate put a writing on the cross which said, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

20. యేసు సిలువవేయ బడిన స్థలము పట్టణమునకు సమీపమైయుండెను, అది హెబ్రీ గ్రీకు రోమా భాషలలో వ్రాయబడెను గనుక యూదులలో అనేకులు దానిని చదివిరి.

20. This was read by many of the Jews. The place where Jesus was nailed to the cross was near the city. The writing was written in the Hebrew and the Latin and the Greek languages.

21. నేను యూదుల రాజునని వాడు చెప్పినట్టు వ్రాయుము గానియూదులరాజు అని వ్రాయవద్దని యూదుల ప్రధాన యాజకులు పిలాతుతో చెప్పగా

21. Then the head religious leaders of the Jews said to Pilate, 'Do not write, 'The King of the Jews'! Write, 'He said, I am the King of the Jews.' '

22. పిలాతునేను వ్రాసిన దేమో వ్రాసితిననెను.

22. Pilate said, 'What I have written is to stay just as it is!'

23. సైనికులు యేసును సిలువవేసిన తరువాత ఆయన వస్త్ర ములు తీసికొని, యొక్కొక్క సైనికునికి ఒక్కొక భాగము వచ్చునట్లు వాటిని నాలుగు భాగములు చేసిరి. ఆయన అంగీనికూడ తీసికొని, ఆ అంగీ కుట్టులేక పైనుండి యావత్తు నేయబడినది గనుక అతడు వచ్చి యేసు దేహమును తీసికొనిపోయెను .

23. The soldiers who nailed Jesus to the cross took His clothes and divided them in four parts, each soldier getting one part. But His coat which was not sewed was made in one piece.

24. వారు దానిని చింపక అది ఎవనికి వచ్చునో అని దానికోసరము చీట్లు వేయుదమని యొకరితో ఒకరు చెప్పుకొనిరి. వారు నా వస్త్రములను తమలో పంచుకొని నా అంగీ కోసరము చీట్లు వేసిరి అను లేఖనము నెరవేరునట్లు ఇది జరిగెను;ఇందుకే సైనికులు ఈలాగు చేసిరి.

24. They said to each other, 'Let us not cut it up. Let us draw names to see whose it should be.' This happened as the Holy Writings said it would happen, 'They divided My clothes among them and they drew names for My coat.' (Psalm 22:18) This is what the soldiers did.

25. ఆయన తల్లియు, ఆయన తల్లి సహోదరియు, క్లోపా భార్యయైన మరియయు, మగ్దలేనే మరియయు యేసు సిలువయొద్ద నిలుచుండిరి.

25. The mother of Jesus and her sister Mary, the wife of Cleophas, were standing near the cross. Mary Magdalene was there also.

26. యేసు తన తల్లియు తాను ప్రేమించిన శిష్యుడును దగ్గర నిలుచుండుట చూచి అమ్మా, యిదిగో నీ కుమారుడు అని తన తల్లితో చెప్పెను,

26. Jesus saw His mother and the follower whom He loved standing near. He said to His mother, 'Woman, look at your son.'

27. తరువాత శిష్యుని చూచి యిదిగో నీ తల్లి అని చెప్పెను. ఆ గడియనుండి ఆ శిష్యుడు ఆమెను తన యింట చేర్చుకొనెను.

27. Then Jesus said to the follower, 'Look at your mother.' From that time the follower took her to his own house.

28. అటుతరువాత సమస్తమును అప్పటికి సమాప్తమైనదని యేసు ఎరిగి, లేఖనము నెరవేరునట్లునేను దప్పిగొను చున్నాననెను.

28. Jesus knew that everything was now finished. Everything happened as the Holy Writings said it would happen. He said, 'I am thirsty.' (Psalm 69:21)

29. చిరకతో నిండియున్న యొక పాత్ర అక్కడ పెట్టియుండెను గనుక వారు ఒక స్పంజీ చిరకతో నింపి, హిస్సోపు పుడకకు తగిలించి ఆయన నోటికి అందిచ్చిరి.

29. There was a jar full of sour wine near. They filled a sponge and put it on a stick and put it to His mouth.

30. యేసు ఆ చిరక పుచ్చుకొని సమాప్తమైనదని చెప్పి తల వంచి ఆత్మను అప్పగించెను.

30. Jesus took the sour wine and said, 'It is finished.' He put His head down and gave up His spirit and died.

31. ఆ దినము సిద్ధపరచుదినము; మరుసటి విశ్రాంతి దినము మహాదినము గనుక ఆ దేహములు విశ్రాంతి దినమున సిలువ మీద ఉండకుండునట్లు, వారి కాళ్లు విరుగగొట్టించి వారిని తీసివేయించుమని యూదులు పిలాతును అడిగిరి.

31. This was the day before the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt. The next day was the Day of Rest and the great day of the religious gathering. The Jews went to Pilate and asked to have the legs of the men broken. They wanted their bodies taken away so they would not be hanging on the crosses on the Day of Rest.

32. కాబట్టి సైనికులు వచ్చి ఆయనతో కూడ సిలువవేయబడిన మొదటి వాని కాళ్లను రెండవవాని కాళ్లను విరుగగొట్టిరి.

32. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and of the other one who had been nailed to crosses beside Jesus.

33. వారు యేసునొద్దకు వచ్చి, అంతకుముందే ఆయన మృతిపొంది యుండుట చూచి ఆయన కాళ్లు విరుగగొట్టలేదు గాని

33. They came to Jesus. They saw He was already dead so they did not break His legs.

34. సైనికులలో ఒకడు ఈటెతో ఆయన ప్రక్కను పొడిచెను, వెంటనే రక్తమును నీళ్లును కారెను.

34. But one of the soldiers pushed a spear into His side. Blood and water ran out.

35. ఇది చూచిన వాడు సాక్ష్య మిచ్చుచున్నాడు; అతని సాక్ష్యము సత్యమే. మీరు నమ్మునట్లు అతడు సత్యము చెప్పుచున్నాడని ఆయ నెరుగును.

35. The one who saw it is writing this and what he says is true. He knows he is telling the truth so you may believe.

36. These things happened as the Holy Writings said they would happen, 'Not one of His bones will be broken.' (Exodus 12:46)

37. And in another place the Holy Writings say, 'They will look at Him Whose side they cut.' (Zechariah 12:10)

38. Joseph was from the town of Arimathea. He was a follower of Jesus but was afraid of the Jews. So he worshiped without anyone knowing it. He asked Pilate if he could take away the body of Jesus. Pilate said he could. Then Joseph came and took it away.

39. మొదట రాత్రివేళ ఆయన యొద్దకు వచ్చిన నీకొదేముకూడ బోళముతో కలిపిన అగరు రమారమి నూట ఏబది సేర్ల యెత్తు తెచ్చెను.

39. Nicodemus came also. The first time he had come to Jesus had been at night. He brought with him a large box of spices.

40. అంతట వారు యేసు దేహ మును ఎత్తికొని వచ్చి, యూదులు పాతి పెట్టు మర్యాద చొప్పున ఆ సుగంధద్రవ్యములు దానికి పూసి నార బట్టలు చుట్టిరి.

40. Then they took the body of Jesus with the spices and put it in linen cloths. This was the way the Jews made a body ready for the grave.

41. ఆయనను సిలువవేసిన స్థలములో ఒక తోట యుండెను; ఆ తోటలో ఎవడును ఎప్పుడును ఉంచబడని క్రొత్తసమాధియొకటి యుండెను.

41. There was a garden near the place where He had been nailed to the cross. In the garden there was a new grave in the side of the hill. No one had ever been laid there.

42. ఆ సమాధి సమీపములో ఉండెను గనుక ఆ దినము యూదులు సిద్ధపరచు దినమైనందున వారు అందులో యేసును పెట్టిరి.

42. This place was near by. Because it was the day the Jews got ready for the special religious gathering, they laid Jesus in it.
