1. నేను స్వతంత్రుడను కానా? నేను అపొస్తలుడను కానా? మన ప్రభువైన యేసును నేను చూడలేదా? ప్రభువునందు నాపనికి ఫలము మీరు కారా?

1. Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are ye not my work in Lord?

2. ఇతరులకు నేను అపొస్తలుడను కాకపోయినను మీమట్టుకైనను అపొస్తలుడనై యున్నాను. ప్రభువునందు నా అపొస్తలత్వ మునకు ముద్రగా ఉన్నవారు మీరే కారా?

2. If I am not an apostle to others, yet at least I am to you, for ye are the seal of my apostleship in Lord.

3. నన్ను విమర్శించువారికి నేను చెప్పుసమాధానమిదే.

3. My defense to those who examine me is this.

4. తినుటకును త్రాగుటకును మాకు అధికారము లేదా?

4. Have we no, not a right to eat and to drink?

5. తక్కిన అపొస్తలులవలెను, ప్రభువుయొక్క సహోదరులవలెను, కేఫావలెను విశ్వాసురాలైన భార్యను వెంటబెట్టుకొని తిరుగుటకు మాకు అధికారములేదా?

5. Have we no, not a right to lead about a sister wife, as also the other apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

6. మరియు పని చేయకుండుటకు నేనును బర్నబాయు మాత్రమే అధికారము లేని వారమా?

6. Or have only I and Barnabas no right not to be occupied earning a living?

7. ఎవడైనను తన సొంత ఖర్చు పెట్టుకొని దండులో కొలువు చేయునా? ద్రాక్షతోటవేసి దాని ఫలము తిననివాడెవడు? మందను కాచి మంద పాలు త్రాగనివాడెవడు?

7. Who ever enlists in an army at his own wage? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat from the fruit of it? Or who feeds a flock and does not eat from the milk of the flock?

8. ఈ మాటలు లోకాచారమును బట్టి చెప్పుచున్నానా? ధర్మశాస్త్రముకూడ వీటిని చెప్పు చున్నదిగదా?

8. Do I say these things according to man, or does not the law also say these things?

9. కళ్లము త్రొక్కుచున్న యెద్దు మూతికి చిక్కము పెట్టవద్దు అని మోషే ధర్మశాస్త్రములో వ్రాయబడియున్నది. దేవుడు ఎడ్లకొరకు విచారించుచున్నాడా?

9. For it is written in the law of Moses thou shall not muzzle an ox threshing grain. Is God concerned about oxen,

10. కేవలము మనకొరకు దీనిని చెప్పుచున్నాడా? అవును, మనకొరకే గదా యీ మాట వ్రాయబడెను? ఏలయనగా, దున్నువాడు ఆశతో దున్నవలెను, కళ్లము త్రొక్కించువాడు పంటలో పాలుపొందుదునను ఆశతో త్రొక్కింపవలెను.

10. or does he speak altogether for our sake? For our sake, for it was written, He who plows ought to plow with hope, and he who threshes with his hope, with hope to share.

11. మీకొరకు ఆత్మసంబంధమైనవి మేము విత్తియుండగా మీవలన శరీరసంబంధమైన ఫలములు కోసికొనుట గొప్ప కార్యమా?

11. If we sowed spiritual things to you, is it a great thing if we will reap your carnal things?

12. ఇతరులకు మీ పైని యీ అధికారములో పాలు కలిగినయెడల మాకు ఎక్కువ కలదు గదా? అయితే మేము ఈ అధికారమును వినియోగించుకొనలేదు; క్రీస్తు సువార్తకు ఏ అభ్యంతరమైనను కలుగజేయకుండుటకై అన్నిటిని సహించుచున్నాము.

12. If others are partakers of the right from you, are not we more? Nevertheless we did not use this right, but we cover all things, so that we may not give any hindrance to the good-news of the Christ.

13. ఆలయకృత్యములు జరిగించువారు ఆలయమువలన జీవనము చేయుచున్నా రనియు, బలిపీఠమునొద్ద కనిపెట్టుకొనియుండువారు బలి పీఠముతో పాలివారై యున్నారనియు మీరెరుగరా?

13. Know ye not that those being employed at the sacred things eat from the temple, and those who serve at the altar are partakers at the altar?

14. ఆలాగున సువార్త ప్రచురించువారు సువార్తవలన జీవింపవలెనని ప్రభువునియమించియున్నాడు.

14. And so the Lord commanded those who proclaim the good-news to live from the good-news.

15. నేనైతే వీటిలో దేనినైనను వినియోగించుకొనలేదు; మీరు నాయెడల యీలాగున జరుపవలెనని ఈ సంగతులు వ్రాయనులేదు. ఎవడైనను నా అతిశయమును నిరర్థకము చేయుటకంటె నాకు మరణమే మేలు.

15. But I have used none of these things, and I did not write these things so that it should be done to me this way. For it is good for me rather to die, than that any man should make my boasting empty.

16. నేను సువార్తను ప్రకటించు చున్నను నాకు అతిశయకారణములేదు. సువార్తను ప్రకటింపవలసిన భారము నామీద మోపబడియున్నది. అయ్యో, నేను సువార్తను ప్రకటింపక పోయినయెడల నాకు శ్రమ.

16. For if I preach the good-news, it is not a source of pride for me, for an obligation is laid upon me. And woe is to me if I do not preach the good-news.

17. ఇది నేనిష్టపడి చేసినయెడల నాకు జీతము దొరకును. ఇష్టపడకపోయినను గృహనిర్వాహకత్వము నాకు అప్పగింపబడెను.

17. For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward, but if involuntarily, I have been entrusted with a commission.

18. అట్లయితే నాకు జీతమేమి? నేను సువార్తను ప్రకటించునప్పుడు సువార్తయందు నాకున్న అధికారమును పూర్ణముగా వినియోగ పరచుకొనకుండ సువార్తను ఉచితముగా ప్రకటించుటయే నా జీతము.

18. What then is my reward? That, while preaching the good-news, I may make the good-news of the Christ without charge, in order not to make full use of my right in the good-news.

19. నేను అందరి విషయము స్వతంత్రుడనై యున్నను ఎక్కువమందిని సంపాదించుకొనుటకై అందరికిని నన్ను నేనే దాసునిగా చేసికొంటిని.

19. For although being free from all men, I made myself a servant to all, so that I might gain the more.

20. యూదులను సంపాదించుకొనుటకు యూదులకు యూదునివలె ఉంటిని. ధర్మశాస్త్రమునకు లోబడినవారిని సంపాదించుకొనుటకు నేను ధర్మశాస్త్రమునకు లోబడినవాడను కాకపోయినను, ధర్మశాస్త్రమునకు లోబడినవానివలె ఉంటిని.

20. And to the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might gain Jews, to those under law, as under law, so that I might gain those under law,

21. దేవుని విషయమై ధర్మశాస్త్రము లేనివాడను కాను గాని క్రీస్తు విషయమై ధర్మశాస్త్రమునకు లోబడినవాడను. అయినను ధర్మశాస్త్రము లేనివారిని సంపాదించుకొనుటకు ధర్మశాస్త్రము లేనివారికి ధర్మశాస్త్రము లేనివానివలెఉంటిని.

21. to those without law, as without law (not being without law to God, but within law to Christ), so that I might gain men without law.

22. బలహీనులను సంపాదించుకొనుటకు బలహీనులకు బలహీనుడనైతిని. ఏ విధముచేతనైనను కొందరిని రక్షింపవలెనని అందరికి అన్నివిధముల వాడనైయున్నాను.

22. To the weak I became as weak, so that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that by all means I might save some.

23. మరియు నేను సువార్తలో వారితో పాలివాడనగుటకై దానికొరకే సమస్తమును చేయుచున్నాను.

23. And I do this for sake of the good-news, so that I might become a fellow participant of it.

24. పందెపు రంగమందు పరుగెత్తువారందరు పరుగెత్తుదురుగాని యొక్కడే బహుమానము పొందునని మీకు తెలియదా? అటువలె మీరు బహుమానము పొందునట్లుగా పరుగెత్తుడి.

24. Know ye not that those who run in an arena, indeed all run, but one receives the prize? So run that ye may seize it.

25. మరియు పందెమందు పోరాడు ప్రతివాడు అన్ని విషయములయందు మితముగా ఉండును. వారు క్షయమగు కిరీటమును పొందుటకును, మనమైతే అక్షయమగు కిరీటమును పొందుటకును మితముగా ఉన్నాము.

25. And every man who strives for mastery exercises self-control in all things. Indeed therefore those men do it so that they might obtain a perishable crown, but we an imperishable.

26. కాబట్టి నేను గురి చూడనివానివలె పరుగెత్తు వాడనుకాను,

26. I therefore run this way, not as aimlessly. I fight this way, not as flaying air.

27. గాలిని కొట్టినట్టు నేను పోట్లాడుట లేదు గాని ఒకవేళ ఇతరులకు ప్రకటించిన తరువాత నేనే భ్రష్టుడనై పోదునేమో అని నా శరీరమును నలగగొట్టి, దానిని లోపరచుకొనుచున్నాను.

27. But I give my body a black eye and subdue it, lest somehow having preached to others, I myself might become disqualified.
